Wow, I'm new here to GA, been looking for places that take my insurance, found this place. I guess theirs a shortage of not only help, but the dentist is on partial work schedule. After being rescheduled once, and set my appointment for September 5, they sent me another rescheduling email, I was fit to be tied. So, the Dentist is working part time, the two hygienist are both also going through some hardship, how about putting an ad for new help? So, I happen to run into a gal at a gig we were playing, and guess what, she's a hygienist, she works for a Dr Moss up in Young Harris not far from me, I had her number, text her and she got me in for Monday, word of warning, stay away from Aspen Dental if you can. read more

Incompetent! Spent 15 mins on the phone setting up an initial appointment. Receptionist gives me a date 2 weeks out. Wow I was shocked, great! 30 mins later get a call back about denture appointment???? I never said anything about needing dentures. I called to schedule an initial appointment. Oh, our bad, that appointment will be in 2 months. Fast forward a month, received a call today telling me they need to reschedule my appointment for another two months. Why, I asked, because we gave you a cancellation appointment spot. What does that have to do with anything? Her reply, Well that's where we're at. No thanks, if you can't handle a basic task like scheduling an appointment for a patient, then I don't need to you handing my dental needs. if in need of a dentist i will tell u my testimony.i was scared the s word after having my teeth ruined from a wreck and my top teeth emergency removed.but aspen dental in blue ridge are life changers everyone!!!! they made everything pain free when doing my whole bottom teeth at once.. from the time i got there they knew i was scared and took excellent care of me and my teeth.i now have both my top n bottom permanent plates and they fit perfectly so if u are scared please don't be go see aspen dental u can tell them this fraidy cat sent ya and they wont hurt u i assure u.got my permanent teeth done fast after my gums had heeled complelty so give them a try most insurance accepted and they have care credit too which is amazing also!!!! thank u aspen dental for helping me!!! hope u see this!!!!! read more

I have never been in such pain, after they pulled 10 teeth and they made my upper and lower dentures. Thank the good Lord I want have to go thur this again. Today is my third day of having my dentures, I love them they look so natural. One more trip for my soft line line. read more

Went in for a basic cleaning that turned into a 3-visit, 6 week marathon that I'm still getting billed for (and the bills magically show up 2 days before they are due). The plan for my cleaning was not clear, I certainly didn't expect it to take three visits, and the dentist only made an appearance at my first. The benefits of such a drawn out process were never explained to me though the added cost is very clear. When I received my second bill in the mail after being told I was settled up (And yes, I have full dental insurance) I had spent close $200 dollars out of pocket, been hard-sold an electric toothbrush that I did not need, and to top it all off my teeth are far more sensitive now than they ever were before. I really regret going here. I cancelled my follow-up in July and will be looking for a new provider. read more

I made an appointment with Aspen Dental in Blue Ridge, GA because I was having a toothache. The soonest they could get me in was the following week. A couple of days before my appointment, they called and asked if I was coming in for an implant. I said I had told them it was for a filling or extraction when I made the appointment. Doctor sucks ,she's rude to patients and staff and office staff are awesome I'm a year into services with them and I'm still waiting now I got told I won't have all done for another 6month if lucky WTH and since local businesses are full with customers I was told I could go to another town and it would be faster so now I drive 2 hours to them to a 10 minute stay, all I have is a temporary bottom plate and a broken top plate they were supposed to replace and a year into this and I'm waiting.this was and is the dawsonville store with the money I spend to get there 2 hours drive id of had enough to get a whole set done months ago. Went to Aspen Dental as a new customer and a cleaning. The Dengal asst. took about 18 X-rays and then I was seen by the Dental Technition. This tech checked my gum line and gave each tooth a number rating 1-4 with 4 being not good. I had only a few 4's. A few minutes later this tech said sorry but I have to do it again because I hit the wrong button on the computer. Now all of a sudden I have a bunch of 4's... I asked about my teeth cleaning and the tech said you have to have a consultation first with the office manager?????? This is where it gets good. This Manager Micha Mathis said I need a deep gum cleaning and your insurance doesn't cover it so out of pocket will be $232.00. I politely declined and she says you cant decline???? I said please explain that to me. She said you have a disease and we cant clean your teeth unless you get this procedure first as we could lose our license. I told her I disagree and after some choice words with Micha she kicked me out of her office. I asked to speak with her supervisor and she said you just saw her?? She said it was the dentist and owner of this Aspen Dental office Candace Jayne Thompson. I said okay I will wait to see her and she said no get out of the building and I will have her call you. Still waiting on that call... Stay far away from Aspen Dental in Blue Ridge. This place is a joke! Avoid at all cost. They are all over the page. I went for an exam. Micah called me in a room to discuss treatment plan. Gave me an estimate of over $2,500. She offered Care Credit application and I was approved. HOWEVER, I have not had my first appointment and no services, yet I received a bill for $2,591.00 from CARE credit. I also found out the dentist to did the exam had quit but they were still going to schedule my treatment with another doctor without the doctor seeing me. I called to speak with Micah and she said "you accepted the charges the day you applied for the Care Credit". How can you bill for services not rendered?? She is forceful with her words and talks over you when you start a sentence or try to answer her question. I won't be using Aspen Dental again. read more

I asked the hygienist about a treatment plan for a crown and was told if I asked more questions there would be no time left for my cleaning. I said I would leave then and was told, "well I'm done with you too". I found this dialogue from the hygienist to be condescending and told her so. read more

I have been canceled twice both times required another 3 month wait. Completely and utterly unsatisfactory.

I had not been to the dentist in like 7 years and was terrified. The first visit is no drilling no spikes, just them doing ALL kinds of exams. As a techy guy I appreciated stuff like the 3d model of my mouth. It might be just my personality but I like being explained things and understanding things and I felt that the way they did it was, like as good as it could be done. They made me for the first time, not afraid of my teeth but I felt like I knew everything that was happening with my mouth. I was able to make decisions about what to do next on my own time and it helped to prepare myself for the actual work. On that point I had to have a long procedure with a lot of shots and scraping and I honestly could not have been more pleased. They to a topical numbing gel before the shots and then after the shots you are numb. The nurses and doctors seem like genuinely good people. This is also the first review of anything I have written in like 2 years. read more

They often don't return calls. They told me that procedures were covered by my insurance and they were not. My insurance company has requested info from Aspen for 6 months to complete my account and they have not sent it. They put an electric toothbrush on my initial estimate without asking if I needed one. They tried to add something else that I didn't want at my first visit. I have no problems with the dental care that I received but the business side is HORRIBLE. read more

My wife and I were looking for a dentist which accepted our insurance and was close-by. Aspen Dental of Blue Ridge appeared to be a good choice. Wrong, wrong. wrong! After receiving a last minute, no notice, time change for our appointment, we proceeded to Aspen Dental. We waited at the counter for a good ten minutes to be recognized. The receptionist took our names and told us to have a seat, she would call us. The place was crowded and chaotic. The staff were in and out of the office with paperwork and talking to each other. I knew immediately this place wasn't for us. After finally being recalled and completing check-in we took our seats and waited to be called...another ten minutes. After being placed in a exam room and waiting for a Dental technician, one finally came into the room and escorted me to x-ray. I told her I had just had x-rays taken by my previous dentist and I had requested my records be forwarded to Aspen Dental Blue Ridge. During check in I asked if they had received our dental records and was told they had them. The X-Ray technician said they didn't have the records and would have to take x-rays which she did. Back to the exam room and another wait for a Dental Hygienist who came in within a couple minutes. She performed a Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing exam. I then had the Dentist check my mouth and asked me if I was having any problems. I told him no and he said everything looked OK. After the exam at consultation, I was told that I would need to make an appointment to have the Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing procedure. I had two of these exams within the past year and neither Dentist, one being a Periodontist, mentioned Periodontal Scaling was warranted. I explained that I would discuss it with my wife. Talking to my wife when she finished her consultation, she said the lady doing the consult had told her that I wanted to talk to her before making an appointment. On the way home she said her exam indicated Periodontal Scaling was warranted. She also had an exam and x-ray by our previous Dentist. How does that sound? After arriving home and looking at the exam paperwork we both decided we didn't require the recommended treatment. Neither of us are having problems and went there to have an exam and basic cleaning. We decided to make an appointment to have a basic cleaning. When I called to make the appointment I had to call several times before someone answered. I told the receptionist I'd like to make an appointment for my wife and myself for a basic cleaning. I was told that wouldn't be possible. By this time I'd had enough. Since neither of us are big on being told what we must have, I ask her to make copies of our records and that we would pick them up tomorrow; that we would look elsewhere. I tried to contact them several times later in the day to ask if our records would be ready for pick up, (they weren't). I left a message requesting a call back but never received it. Having served 28 years in the military and moving several times after retiring, my wife and I have been cared for by a multitude of Dentists. Most were good, a few were not. This is the first time being told, take it or leave it. We're both in our 80's and not big on socialized dentistry. We'll continue to look for the Dentist who will provide the service we request. read more

On Feb. 9, 2021 I went to Aspen Dental Blue Ridge and had 17 teeth pulled, several, several Shots and I think it was 6 stitches. But before my appointment, I called several times trying to get some little something to sorta calm me on the day of my appointment because I have AFib, I never got a returned call, it got ignored! I was in the chair, Dr. Thompson started giving me the shots, I remember feeling my heart speeding up and I was starting to shake all over! I mean shake, my knees were coming off the chair! I remember the assistant asking if I was alright and I don't remember nothing else until they were putting my dentures in. I told them that the bottom plate did not fit, that it was rocking. They said it would get better. The top top fit good. When I got home, I had to change the gauze and I found out why they were not fitting! My Bottom gum is Mutilated in the front!!! I've been back 8 to 10 times since February and they'll put a little soft liner in it or grind a little and say I just have to let it heal! I'm not a Idiot!!! Well, I've been a CNA for 30 years and I've never saw a bottom plate made like mine!! I've let nurses with 20, 30 and 1 with over 50 years experience look at them and my bottom gum and they all say that I need to go somewhere else and get my gum fixed if it can be and get me some good teeth, because my top teeth are way to short in the back! I still can't eat hardly nothing!! If it's really soft, I can chew a little bit on my right side and it still hurts but I can not chew anything on my left side!! Not even a donut!!! I've went from 169lbs to 149lbs since February. It's awful not being able to eat!! ALSO, when I went to get it done, I heard the lady talking to my insurance company because she repeated everything they said, she knew exactly what they would pay!! And what my other insurance would pay. They said I would have to pay $70 out of pocket and I had $1800 financed (they failed to tell me it was like a credit card). I asked them several times if they were sure that would be all I would have to pay and they assured me it was. BUT the end of March first of April I get a bill from them for $307 more dollars!!! I've heard several people say that this office does this! I will not pay one more penny on these pieces of crap that they are forcing on me and the way she mutilated my gum!! I've asked for my money back and they won't give it back! Maybe if I'd got the most expensive set of teeth instead of the basic ones they would treat me better!! BUT THE BEST PART IS, My Bottom Plate BROKE on 5/28/21, I was trying to eat vegetables out of a roast!!! I called Aspen Dental Blue Ridge Emergency Number and according to their answering service, my dentures breaking was not a emergency because I've had them over 2 weeks!! So I left a message at their office on Saturday morning and they finally called me back Tuesday around 1:30pm. They said I could bring them and drop them off and they'd FIX them but they couldn't say how long it would take!! They'll fix something that don't fit!! ALSO, I was supposed to call back when I got my schedule and make a appointment to get back in to have them adjusted AGAIN in June, so when I called today (6/4/21) they said the soonest I could get in was July 8! I even told them that the lady that works on them said I needed to come back the 2nd week in June and that my top plate was cutting me now!! But it didn't matter, they didn't care, it is still going to be July! I told them to forget it!! My Daughter's keep telling me to talk to a lawyer and to contact the Dentist Board and it looks like that's what I'm going to have to do!! Maybe they can help me get my money back so I can afford to go somewhere else and try to get my mouth fixed. This has been a horrible Nightmare with no end in sight!! Very disappointed in the extreme charges they charge at this office. The staff was new and unorganized. I continued for a few visits to try to give them a chance because they were just starting up and trying to get in order and organized but could not afford their prices. THEN most of all they quoted 1 price to my mother for her dentures and checked with her insurance and told her she would only had to pay 130. My mother paid her 130 as she was told BUT kept receiving a bill for 1100.00 they said was her portion insurance did not pay. I called to try to resolve this for my 78 year old mother and the office manager was so rude and would not listen when I tried to explain about what mother was told at her initial consultation of price and then would not return my calls to try to get it resolved so my mother would not continue to receive this bill. NOT HELPFUL AT ALL AND NOT CONCERNED AT ALL AND DEFINTELY NOT PROFESSIONAL. The prices here are the highest of any Dental place I have ever been. My brother-in-law has the same terrible experience and so did my sister. So needless to say no one in my family or that would ask me about this Aspen Dental would ever go back. As of right now I'll write a review but I will update when it is all completely finished because I still have through April-Mayish to go BUT..... As for now, I will say.... I was nervous about going here after reading some reviews but I had to have some major work done and im terrified of the dentist office from a bad experience having a tooth pulled. I don't know what happened with others but they have been incredible to me. I had to have 22 teeth removed before I could start on my new smile and Dr Thompson has been incredible!! She kept me calm where I didn't even need my usual sedative! I never felt the first three shots and didn't realize she had even started giving them until the numbing was taking effect! Her Assistant Demi-Rhea was unbelievable! She was very attentive to all my questions just as the doctor was! I couldn't believe how painless it was and how quickly it was finished. I was terrified I wouldn't have the nerve to do it and instead of making me wait a long time they brought me in a couple of days early so I wouldn't raise my anxiety worse by anticipating the procedure another couple of days! The front desk helps as well with how efficient they are about getting my concerns to the doctor! Holly got me in there quick when I called her upset and Tony ALWAYS has a small and a friendly hello everytime you come in. Also I don't know the names of the two ladies I saw back near the lab but one had red hair and freckles.. she helped me through an awful time where I gagged and threw up! She tried so hard not to make me feel bad or be embarrassed about it. A lady with really short blonde hair (which I now have comfirmed her name to be NIKKI lol) also is probably the funniest and possibly most up beat girl I have ever met! She is new but pulled out tricks with salt to keep me from not only gagging but mean while talking me through it and even petting my head lol! She had myself and my husbanf laughing to almost the point of tears! She was incredible! And finally I have to give all the love I can to probably the biggest influence in the entire experience! HEATHER the office manager!!!!!! Omg she was AMAZING! I truly don't know if I would have went through with it without her! When I heard the price im not gonna lie, I was ready to run! She tool me through plenty of options and even talked with Dr. Thompson whom she said would give me another 20% off. We were financed also! I called this beautiful lady soooooo many times I bet I drove her crazy trying to get things sorted out but she always answered with a smile and was willing to stay late or do anything she had to so we could get through this rough patch and help me get my smile back and most importantly my CONFIDENCE!! I also want to hank another very important man although I never met him because he works behind the scenes, he is such a major part of the dental team and is the reason my confidence is growing and also what helped get me back on track with my husband and family by giving me power in my looks again! Other people are going to have opinions and thats fine but keep in mind when you go to Aspen that they are willing to help and work with you to any extent they can but when it comes down to it, its going to cost money when you go to get medical care. Very Disappointed We tried the new place as we don't have dental insurance and was looking for reasonable prices. During the consultation, they told me that the price included a brand new toothbrush. (Price was much higher than expected). I said I didn't need it as I just bought one, so, they deducted $135. I wanted to have the full service done that day. But, they did not polish my teeth. They highly recommended I make my next appointment in 3 months, and they charged me $133 to pay for half of the visit to keep me on the calendar. I decided to cancel my appointment, and they did refund me the $133. My fiancé was there at the same time. I told him about the toothbrush so he told them he didn't need it. They said it was included in the package, so he thought it was free. He tried to bring the toothbrush back, and they would not take it back. They said to send it to the manufacturer. Apsen worked with me and my dental insurance they did offer extra services and I did take some of those some I did not with no problem. Staff is excellent and response time is excellent. read more

I am currently in the invisalign program with this dentist office. I will say that starting out was a HORRIBLE experience. Why? I will place in in order for you 1. YOU consult with the guy in the office (nice guy seems caring enough) about the cost and pay for EVERYTHING up front. This meant paying 4200 something dollars up front. 2.You are told that it will be just a couple of days to be scheduled for your molds for the trays for your teeth, you call back in a couple of days because you don't hear from them (hince this started in April) and told yes um give us another couple days waiting on the machine. You agree 3. Couple more days pass and no call, so you call and then you are told that you need a cleaning and check for cavities before the molding process and you schedule this. This time its now late April may be early May. 4. You go for the cleaning and get all the works up (YOU have to pay for this because apparently it was NOT included in on the 4200 something dollars you paid to start. After this, you pay 100+ dollars because now they inform you that they do NOT accept your insurance anymore. and then ask about the schedule time for the moldings. They inform you that the equipment has not came in yet and will call when this happens. Now May for sure. 5. Late May, YOU finally get into the office and explain why you are so upset about the entire ordeal of the miscommunication... simply it will be your fault not anyone in the office. just leave it be. except it and keep going back. You get your impressions done (the molding) and then you have to wait for your dentist to *tweak* it and send it in into the invisalign company to make your trays for your teeth. 6. You get a call from the office roughly end of May and is ask to come in to review your treatment plan. You go in that same day because literally the only thing the dentist has to tell you is that "your bite will not change" and shows you just the finishing picture of your teeth. You do not get any education on your treatment plan nor education on how to take care of the invisaligns, or even what to expect. (I RECOMMEND DOING RESEARCH FIRST so you know what you are getting into) **SIDE NOTE: According to my dentist for the rest of my oral care informed me that when your teeth shift...your bite does change...** 7: Finally JUNE 18th, 2019 I start my invisalign treatment plan. Only thing I am informed on is NOT to use ibuprofen or any NSAIDs because the inflammation is what helps the teeth shift. OKAY... Still no education on anything(PLEASE MAKE SURE TO RESEARCH any PROCEDURE before coming to this office for your safety). You inform your dentist of your concern... told its common sense and that there is no education for this. NO EDUCATION needed for a TREATMENT PLAN??? *Okay no** 8. Be ready for this location to try and charge you each time you walk into the door. They tried to charge me 308 dollars extra related to a change in my treatment plan ***NO change*** told them I was NOT paying this..nothing changed... nothing came out about this.. Then they want you to pay for your cleanings up front **NO because I do not use this dentist for my cleanings except that one time for this process of my invisaligns ** 9. Now here we are in September, (9/27/2019 at 1610) no new complaints. The staff is nice to me and i'm actually liking the process. My teeth are getting straight, only having to deal with Aspen every 5 weeks for my new set of trays and a check up on how my teeth are shifting. I will say this in the office defense, the staff had horrible miscommunication because it was a new location, the equipment was not in the facility prolonging my treatment plan, and they are always busy. Today, my last visit was a week ago. I seen a different side of them ,caring, (Still trying to charge for a cleaning but got it fixed and not having to pay it) busy, better communication between the staff. I don't get alot of one on one time with the dentist as I am just in for my new sets of trays and quick check on my teeth, but I will say the dentist is more respectful and did try to find a solution to one of my issues I was having. In the END, please make sure to just do your own research, do I recommend this company...No to be honest, but if you don't have insurance and do need dental work (even if it still expensive...its dental work of course no matter what it will be) then yeah maybe go here but be cautious about it. I'm still one foot out the door, but am seeing a difference. Who knows maybe by the end of my treatment plan I will edit this review and change my mind.. It's a possibility. read more
