They up charge everything, they are deceptive about what is included in their pricing, they are inconsistent. the Motto aligners hurt, too. others have told me aligners aren't supposed to put you on excruciating pain 6/7 days a week for months on end-- pain that causes you to lose sleep. Show up to appointment this morning. Dentist said "oh we don't repair other dents office dentures". I was NOT told that in my 2-20 minute phone calls. I showed up for an appointment I made 6 months ago and they said it was cancelled since I did not leave verbal confirmation. I did confirm online after getting a text saying that I could do that. I then received a voice mail saying I had to call. I called three times and nobody bothered to answer the phone as usual. I left a voicemail and yet they still cancelled on me. I scheduled a cleaning with them but when you go in for your initial service, they have another service in mind. They want to get new x-rays even though i brought my recent ones with me, and then they want to reschedule you for the cleaning for another appointment because the doctor wasn't scheduled for the cleaning today? Well what was I scheduled for? I haven't even gotten to the BS that pulled with my daughter. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Very obvious they are a for profit clinic. Scary example of what privatized health care can look like. I am fully insured by my employer and still managed to rack up $1,000 in dental bills in just one year of going there for basic cleanings. They said I had gingivitis even though my gum measurements were actually pretty good. I went to Aspen dental in St. Peter's and loved it. I refused to go to any other dentist until I moved. Since I'm closer to the Brentwood location I made an appointment to try it out. I called in the morning to confirm my appointment less than 24 hours later and they said that I didn't have an appointment in the system and it wasn't available. Either they didn't want a 7:30 appointment or they need to fix their website. For another person to get that appointment, they would've had to confirm right? IT WAS LESS THAN 24 HOURS. I don't know where to start......this was the worst dental experience I have ever had. I needed an emergency root canal and my regular dentist was away. I ended up calling Aspen Dental in Brentwood MO. I am no stranger to dental work and not faint of heart. Here are the highlights: - Dental tech couldn't get a decent xray and retryed at least two dozen times on the day of the procedure. - The banter in the room between the dentists and the dental tech was incredibly unprofessional. - When it came time to take the temporary crown off and put on the new one on , it wouldn't come off. The assumption was that a tech could lift it off but there wasn't a prayer of lifting it off. The dentist drilled, tugged and worked for about 10 minutes to get the temporary off. - the actual charges became far more than the Used-car-salesman-like presentation predicted. That sales pitch they gave me included services I didn't need or want and was still very inaccurate. My out of pocket charges were substantially higher than they said and THEN they have failed to file paperwork properly with my insurance company. - I have been working for over 5 months to get the proper xrays to my insurance company so it can be claimed. My insurance company reports making multiple attempts to get the final xray from Aspen Dental. It never arrived. - when I followed up on the final xray, Aspen admitted they didn't have one! Remember the story about the dental tech who could not get an xray? So I went back 1 month ago for Aspen to take another image. STILL my insurance company hasn't received that image. The Aspen office in Brentwood was pretty snide in telling me that it will take 6 - 8 weeks for their head office to forward that Xray. REALLY? Are they trying to hide shoddy work in not getting a final xray to my insurance company? I did have an office manager give me a call to discuss the root canal and my discomfort with all I saw and heard. She wondered why I didn't care to be part of someone's training? I can see being a part of someone's training if that someone is supervised by a professional -- she was not. Or maybe if I had been asked if I wanted to be a guinea pig? Or I was given a price break for allowing an unsupervised student play with the xray machine with me. About the terrifying removal of a temporary crown, the office manager told me that sometimes the temporary crown does get a little stuck. Really? I have never experienced anything like it. My experience with this company was the worst!(MAY,2022) I scheduled on line for a broken tooth( commercial on TV) upon arrival( Florissant Mo location) the experience went downhill.The office staff do not listen they have a script of how they treat everyone! You must show your dental card if you have one,an X-ray is done you must see the the dental hygienist and then the dentist! The plan of care is discussed with an office manager who tell you HOW MUCH the dental care will cost.Needless to say when I scheduled my emergency dental care for a broken tooth I was shocked and upset.They could not fix this broken tooth the same day.I would have to come in the next day for further evaluation By a specialists! The office manager had written up a care plan for $3500.00! I refused the plan of care (cost my insurance $100.00 for no care tooth not fixed) and went back to my regular dentist! Coming to this Aspen dental was my first experience with this company. I came here to get a permanent bridge completed and it turned out great. I'm happy with how everyone there helped me. It was not a bad experience like so many others claim in their one star reviews. The staff there were thorough. Told me what I routines I needed to get into, so I did, and from there my oral health has been getting significantly better. The only true complaint I had is that the waiting time after check-in was a bit long. My permanent bridge did take awhile to arrive (mostly due to the recent hurricane). Experience was fine. Aspen Dental is nothing more than a production line dental service; with the sole intention of pushing as many victims through the line as quickly as possible. My treatment (in August 2023) involved the removal of teeth which required payment up front (as all of their services do); allegedly AFTER my insurance had been run through their system to determine my cost. The treatment was appalling, with the anesthetic wearing off before the procedure had been completed, resulting in substantial unnecessary pain. That discomfort did not prevent them from helping me to the registration desk to try to get me to pay for a future deep clean, allegedly costing over $1000 (after my insurance had been checked). I did not make any further appointments and subsequently found a family dentist who was excellent. My deep clean there was a few hundred dollars; not the thousand plus Aspen wanted. The other day I got a bill from Aspen for the putrid treatment they provided. The bill is almost double what it should be and clearly misstates what I had previously paid. I have never left a Yelp review but this place is a snake pit and I hope people read this before scheduling an appointment. They will drag in for as many appointments as possible so they can upcharge you and bill your insurance as frequently as possible. They will find things wrong with your mouth that are not there and they will be extremely unorganized and incapable of communicating what you're there for and why. I have a root canal that needs to be re-done and they are quoting double the cost of two other endodontists with no reason why. They'll also reschedule appointments on you multiple times. I am fortunate to have incredible insurance and have not paid for a cleaning or exam once since I've been with my company until aspen dental. This place is truly the Walmart of dental offices and feels more like a predatory business than a medical office. Do not go here for anything. My appointment was at 1:30pm and I showed up 15 minutes early like I was instructed to but I had to wait outside until staff finished their lunch. I knocked on the door and when I was finally let in I was greeted with an attitude from staff wondering why I was interrupting their lunch. Why was my appointment scheduled during that time if it's lunch time? But also why does the entire staff go on lunch at the same time? Is that efficient for productivity? I was examined because I had tooth sensitivity and didn't have insurance at the time. My x-rays took 20 minutes from a seemingly inexperienced dental tech. The conclusion was that I needed a crown on the tooth experiencing sensitivity. Fast forward to today. I finally have dental insurance and scheduled an appointment to have the tooth examined and taken care of if needed by my regular dentist. I told my dentist beforehand that another dentist told me I needed a crown and that was the issue. Her dental tech took 3-5 minutes to do all my x-rays and told me that there was nothing wrong with my tooth. I was shocked. Aspen Dental wanted to charge me $2,000 to drill my teeth and I didn't even need it. This company is not trustworthy. If you want a good burger, you don't go to McDonald's you go to the mom and pop shops. Stay away from franchises especially when it concerned thousands of dollars and your teeth (that have NEVER needed any serious dental work besides braces). I got a root canal done and the doctor didn't numb me enough so I felt the whole thing. she seemed annoyed at the fact I was in pain! they botched my temporary crown. had to get it adjusted 3 times. to top everything off they lost the impression for my permanent crown. i had to go somewhere else to finish their work. the dentist who did my root canal didn't even fully prep my tooth for a crown! just a terrible experience!!! Two times in a row now I have came to your clinic and have been turned away because of not confirming. First time I drove about 40 mins to get to my appt and was turned away. The receptionist said my appt was cancelled because I didn't confirm, I said I NEVER got a phone call or anything. Whatever. I make another appt with a closer clinic. They called me yesterday while I was at work so when I could get back to my phone I called around 1120 and no one answered. I left a voicemail saying that I will be there. I work in a busy ER so I tried calling when I could. I get to my appt today and get turned away again. They said they tried to call twice... I only got one call for which I tried calling back, leaving a voicemail with my confirmation and my appt still gets cancelled. I'm a busy ER nurse, trying to go to school, while my husband is deployed, and a 7 month at home. It's just me and it's hard to find a sitter. I'm dealing with so much right now and trying to take care of myself so I don't fall into a depression hole again. I spend all day taking care of others and I'm trying to take care of me too. Watch out for these crooks and their bait and switch tactics. Ended up getting billed almost $1K for the standard cleaning that I asked for that my pre-verified insurance covered. They proceeded to apparently do and bill for a deep-cleaning, which they were not instructed or authorized to do, claiming it was "necessary." Then they proceed to tell you that since you signed the contract, you are liable for the balance, despite the fact that they contract you for something different than what you asked for. Of course, they won't reverse the charges either, so I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, and the Professional Registration Division in Jefferson City. I encourage EVERYONE that reads this to go somewhere else, and those who have been similarly scammed to file complaints with the aforementioned entities (the State and the BBB). read more

I wish I could give zero stars. Aspen Dental is a HUGE scam. My experience was a nightmare from the beginning. I called and scheduled a check-up. When I arrived at the office, the receptionist couldn't reach my insurance company, which she made very clear to the whole waiting room. She tells me I need to call the next day and tell them to call the office (not my job). She loudly says my social security number and date of birth in a waiting room full of patients. I'm taken back for x-rays, which I originally think will take five minutes tops. An hour into x-rays, I am taken into an exam room. I'm not sure if a doctor came in or who this person was but someone came in to look at my teeth. This person briefly mentioned some type of Invisalign but doesn't say much about it. This whole time I'm thinking the long x-rays are part of the regular check-up. I'm then told by the office manager to come to the front to get scheduled for a dental cleaning when a few days prior, I was told by phone that the x-rays, dental cleaning and visit with the dentist all happen the same day. I go to the front and the office manager shows me a "treatment plan" for some type of Invisalign that costs $3,500. I was so confused. Never did I once express any interest in Invisalign. I told her I wasn't interested then she went over my cleaning which I believe was around $450. I asked why that wouldn't be covered by insurance, she said because I have gingivitis and this is a special cleaning that isn't covered. She was trying to get me to agree to come to several appointments to complete this cleaning. This place is a complete and total SCAM and truly disheartening that this business even exists. It's a disgrace to healthcare and disgusting to take advantage of people like this. I have since gone to another dentist who was able to provide a general dental cleaning and said there is no need for any special cleaning. I wish I would have read Aspen Dental reviews before making an appointment but I've learned my lesson and will warn others and never return myself.
