My experience here started well, but later turned into the worst. I booked my first appointment over the phone and was told I needed to fill in some information online before arriving, including scanning my insurance card. When the day of my appointment came, the staff were really nice. I had my X-rays done and explained everything I wanted, including a filling and possible future procedures. After that, I was told to sit and wait to be called. I was then taken to an office where someone informed me that they do not work with my type of insurance. I asked why, considering I had already scanned and submitted my insurance information before coming in. She told me I would still have to pay $150 for the visit. I asked what exactly they had done for me to justify that amount, especially since this seemed like their negligence. She replied that it was for the scan. I asked for a copy of the scanned documents, but they could not provide them. I sat there feeling very frustrated. I explained to the woman that I only had $50 on me at the time, and I paid that amount even though I honestly felt robbed. Now they keep sending me payment reminders for the remaining $100, despite the fact that they never actually worked on me. I truly feel these people are not acting professionally read more

The technician who cleaned and assessed my teeth was so gentle that half the time I didn't even know she was doing something. Best dental office I've been to, and I've been through a lot!! Staff is thorough and friendly. Their COVID precautions are EXCELLENT. I felt very safe there. My hygienist is a super star. I've had 2 of the doctors, and both were awesome including Dr. Aubert. It's cool that he also does orthodontics. They do thorough examinations, are happy to explain things, and make referrals when needed. This place is a money grab. And the staff turnover! I took my kids out of school for their cleanings, and when I got there they said they didn't have our appointments. Blamed someone who had quit last week and were unapologetic. I took a half day off work for that. For my own appointment, they took every X-ray possible and never checked if I was due. I had to pay for them out of pocket because they weren't due for another 6 months according to my insurance. I also listened while an admin "consulted" a crying customer about a monthly payment plan for her huge bill... in the chairs next to me in the waiting room. Undignified!! Dr. Aubert was extremely thorough with my dental care. I came to him as a poor graduate student, needing several fillings and a root canal. He performed the root canal expertly. It was as painless as a normal filling and the crown he made me looks like any other tooth in my mouth. The color is spot on. He made sure to contour it perfectly too. I remember the look on his face when he showed me was definitely that of an artist who had labored over it to get it just right. He even offered to smooth out the contour of another dentist's crown that was less than perfect for free. His fillings were always smooth. No sharp edges or grittiness, no uneven bite. He really got it right. I don't live in Saint Louis anymore and I almost wish to go back just so I could get a my dental work from him again (seriously!). I also really appreciate that his staff went over prices with me ahead of time, in private, so I knew what to expect. A root canal and crown are nothing to sniff at, especially for a poor student. It meant a lot to me that there were no surprise bills waiting for me at the end, as there often are at other dentists. I would see him again and highly recommend him office to others! read more

Dr. Mulligan is a saint he's patient & not heavy handed at all & since I get crippling anxiety from dental offices that was a great thing. Also great a few of the hygienist i experienced. I had root canal, crown, etc all great, minus a woman that numbed me once (needles) & she was CLEARLY rushing but I'm always afraid of being mistreated & tagged a bad patient so i sucked it up. When it comes to the money portion of it don't expect to be refunded swiftly or even get clear communication on how the process works or the time it'll take. I've been trying to get a clear answer the second week in a row & no concise answers. I feel because the money isn't staying on their books it's not a priority. One more procedure to be finished that I've already paid for & never again. Not because of Dr Mulligan or the hygienist that worked on me, but operating practices & communication isn't what it should've been dealing with the amount of money they do. This man is a poor excuse for a dentist. His work is shoddy his prices are very high and his concern with comfort is very little. He did several root canals for me which he insisted he was able to do that failed and cost me those teeth. The other dentist who saw his work said that it looked like a college student. If there is any dental board review of this doctor he would be shut down and should be. Beware of this practice don't subject yourself to the pain and disappointment they provide. After Reading many reviews of this doctor and his practice I can't see why anybody armed with this information would go to this man. It is obvious by the amount of time that he makes his patients wait that he has no regard or concern for them. Maybe things have changed since ive been there but i only had one experience with Dr Aubert and it was not pleasant at all. He removed a tooth from me and sent me on my way...he called to check on me that night, which i thought was pretty nice of him. He said he was going on vacation and that if i needed anything, to contact his office. a couple days passed and i was in excruciating pain. I had used the pain meds that they had prescribed but nothing was helping at all. so i called his office explaining this and the lady that answered just brushed it off and said there was nothing she could do, that she couldnt get another prescription or anything. She never offered for me to come back in and see what was wrong, nothing. so a couple more days passed and the pain was only getting worse. so i went to the ER, which i didnt have insurance so for me to go was a huge deal. They told me i had dry socket and gave me a shot of Dilaudid (which is stronger than morphine!). after that, the pain definitely subsided. i was disappointed that it came to a $700+ ER bill and that Dr. Aubert's office didnt seem to be worried about me when i called in. I cringe everytime i drove past his billboard on 170. i will never return to his office and will never recommend people to him. I understand that dry socket can happen to anyone but it was the way his office handled me as a patient that really upset me. read more

I've had three extractions before and never felt the discomfort and pain as I did here recently. I was a patient years back and didn't return because I didn't feel comfortable with the doctor for a few reasons. After the new dentist I found moved I decided to try again at F.P.D. Bad idea. Be prepared to wait, early, or on time you're going to wait, & wait, & wait. I now remember why I didn't go back years ago and I'm canceling my future appointments because I cannot handle the anxiety from aloofness & arrogance again. My experience with the office has been remarkable. I went in today for an extraction + 2 fillings and was so scared but the dental assistant made me feel super comfortable. Dr. Smith was SO nice. I don't think I've ever met a nicer dentist. Dr. Aubert even came in to say hello to me ! I love my new dentist office. This was my 2nd time in the office. My first time was just as good. I did not have a pleasant patient experience at this dentist. Though staff were friendly, they are plagued by long wait times. I also felt they pushed patients to receive invisalign braces a little too much, which to me gives the impression of being too money-oriented. Awful. I had a few fillings done by Dr. Aubert a couple of years ago. I recently went for a check-up at my current dentist and found that I had a large infection in one of the teeth that was filled by Dr. Aubert. It turn out that the filling was too close to the nerve and caused bacteria to accumulate in the gums. As a result, I had to get a root canal this morning and will get a new filling in a few weeks. Dr. Aubert's sloppy dentistry and unprofessional care caused me not only to have to endure a root canal, but also cost me more than $1000. My mother and I came to this dentistry often many years ago, and we were never admitted without at least an hour wait. Perhaps Dr. Aubert may not have the proper service and I want to say he has the professionalism and know-how. But he clearly doesn't. Please take my advise and look for a different dentist. Dr. Aubert really tried to be respectful of my time. I did have to wait beyond my appointment time to see him, however, I was one of the last appointments of the day, which tends to happen at any doctors office. I told him that I am a current graduate student, which is why I hadn't had time to do routine maintenance in over 2 years, but came back today because I had a cavity. Once the diagnosis was confirmed, he and his hygienist stayed late to address my problem immediately rather than scheduling me for a later date to fill the cavity. As a new patient I made a same day appt to fix a tiny chip in my front and was told I could get that done. I took off work, used my lunch break, skipped studying finals and actually eating for lunch. I arrived early as advised with my ID and insurance, they did exam and xrays and was asked by the tech when I had to be out of there and I told her, she said that was plenty of time. The dr came in and said yep just some bond send her to I forget the girl's name. I was then shown the front desk where I had to schedule an appt to get my chipped tooth fixed at the end of July. I took off work, skipped studying finals and eating my lunch to do this because you told me you could do it when I came in. I will say everyone was nice while there and I was nice in turn until I was walking out and realized that I hadn't gotten anything done and that is when I called and got the office manager Laurie's voicemail twice.Then when I was upset about it Laurie the office manager was rude and unhelpful. She offered to put me on a list in case of cancellations and to send me my x-rays. No apologies just excuses. Wouldn't reverse my insurance they had already charged or get me in in the next few days. Dr Aubert has a great office with caring staff. I live far away, but still come to this establishment for their professional work and care. He took very good care of an implant I needed done, and worked with me on a payment plan so i wouldn't have broken the bank. My only issue is that the normal receptionist has a tenancy to lose appointments, so check in a week after you set it just in case. Otherwise, I fully support this dentist. read more

Today I had the best experience! When you think about going to the dentist you cringe, I know I do. Well, I bit down on something hard while eating and dread came over me. The pain was like something I've never experienced.I pulled up my insurance provider's in network dentists and I randomly picked Forest Park Dental. I was desperate and knew it would be hard to find someone at such short notice. To my surprise I was able to get in for a next day appointment. I filled out my paperwork online and nervously anticipated what would happen the next morning. Upon arrival all safety precautions were met, I was impressed. The first employee that I came in contact with was very personable. I am not kidding when I say every single employee that came across my path had a smile and hello. That's so hard to find this day and age, good customer service. Then I met Dr. Aubert, he was professional, down to earth and very knowledgeable. Dr Aubert's bedside manner is A1. He was actually able to get ME to relax, that's a hard thing to do. We initially thought that I needed a root canal but Dr. Aubert got a closer look and made the decision to extract the tooth because it was cracked. They didn't miss a beat! Everyone was able to change gears and Dr.Aubert explained everything to me as he performed my tooth extraction. I didn't feel a thing once I was numb! Afterward I got a visual as to the procedure I had and how to take care of the extraction. As I watched the videos everything was explained to me by staff. I appreciated the fact that the doctor wanted to educate his patients. The building is beautiful with state of the art equipment. I am so grateful that I found this place. I recently visited Dr. Aubert (Forest Park Dental) for the first time, on the recommendation of a close friend. I was happy with my prior dentist but he wasn't on my new dental plan. First, Trina took full x-rays of my teeth then proceeded to document observations and issues. Then Dr. Aubert viewed the x-rays and Trina's notes, as well as my teeth, and gave me a comprehensive explanation of my issues and all possible options for treatment. Both Trina and Dr. Aubert were friendly, clear, concise, and took the time to answer my many questions. In fact, the same description applies to everyone in the office with whom I interacted. It turned out to be a lengthy appointment as after giving me the price for two crowns I needed, they offered to make the temporaries then (if I had the time) rather than scheduling a separate appointment. This leads me to another reason for this stellar review: Forest Park Dental offers in-house some of the same procedures and prosthetics that most dentists farm out to dental laboratories or specialists. Therefore, a procedure that takes two - four visits to another dentist is completed in one or two visits to FP Dental. Dr. Aubert and his staff work together in an efficient and effective unit to make appointments go smoothly and quickly. He's a member of the Missouri Dental Board and is intensely interested in learning new dental practices and technology (hence all the in-house options and tech) but don't let that frighten you off; FP Dental works within patient budgets to accomplish their needs. Lastly, FPD is located in a neato West End brick house. There's a small, tight parking lot behind the building (driveway is just west of the building's front), but it fills quickly so you're better off parking at one of the metered spaces on Forest Park Avenue. To be fair, there's one thing I'd change about FP Dental, which is their choice of piped in radio music. But that's because I'm an NPR fan. :o) read more

First of all, I'm surprised by all the negative reviews. I did notice, however, that the reviewers who left poor reviews, were in need of major dental work. Did they think that it would be cheap? Or easy? That the dentist would make it all up? Or that it is the dental office's job to contact the insurance company? Not hardly, though it is a nice gesture; it's the patients' responsibility!! If you were in search of an incompetent and unprofessional practice.......try Brentwood Family Dental. That just isn't the case here. Second, I have found the office to be nothing but respectful and professional. They are also very prompt, thorough, and explained everything they did step-by-step(before they did it and during). I had two wisdom teeth removed and was in and out in a reasonable amount of time. They explained the costs during my previous visit, so there was no unexpected $$. They only use digital x-rays - - AWSOME!!! Though these take longer, it's well worth it. I really liked Dr. Aubert, as he was genuine and friendly. I am a entrepreneur myself, so I can appreciate the value of doing good business. I highly recommend this dental office. read more

I showed up for my first appointment with Dr. Aubert a little before noon. My appointment time was at noon. I filled out my paperwork and sat down. I was not called back until after 12:30. I got x-rays and had my teeth cleaned. After the dental hygienist finished cleaning my teeth, she said the doctor would come back and do my exam. By this point it was already 1:30 and I had to get back to work. I waited another ten and the doctor still hadn't stopped by so I just got up and left. read more

Yesterday I had a 4:00 appointment. As I walked in, one of the techs acknowledged me by name and said he would tell them that I was here. I waited until 5:05 and was never acknowledged by the receptionist that I was even there. Not once did she give apologies that my wait was longer than anticipated or even looked in my direction. The only time I left the waiting area was to use the restroom twice. After my hour wait I walked to the door then decided to walk back to the desk and inform them that I had waited an hour and was leaving. No one likes going to the dentist but the staff here helps makes it bearable. My tech was Erika, who was very positive and upbeat. I appreciate that because working a job where things aren't always easy or pleasant can bring you down. The other tech I had was Cordell who was happy and helpful. The doctor is an affable fellow and he talks through everything with you. I appreciated that because I know he had many people to care for but he gave every one individual attention and consideration.
