Yes, the lobby/waiting area was a little fancier with nicer furniture and the dentists (a husband and wife team) had impressive pedigrees, but the appeal stopped the moment I sat down in the chair for an examination. I felt like a stranger and that I was distracting them from more important business. They talked with the hygienist behind my back (literally) as I could not see what they were looking at and I walked away feeling a lack of confidence in their ability to match the service I was used to. Buford Family Dental is transparent and takes time to both show on screen and explain in layman's terms, any dental concerns as well as recommended course of action to remedy the concern. All this is to say that I am back at Buford Family Dental. The confidence I have in both Dr Patel and Dr Kim as well as their staff is worth the drive for the service provided Buford Family Dental. Today I had a root canal on one tooth and a tooth extraction and bone graph (prep for a crown) on another tooth. 4 hours later, with the novocaine worn off, I sit with no pain and satisfied with a procedure done as well as any Endodontists or oral surgeon could have performed. Dr. Choi is actually amazing, but the front office will make sure that I never get in to see him. MONTHS! I've spent SEVERAL MONTHS getting rescheduled for my cleaning. The last attempt was over two months ago via an automated system, and today was the soonest they could see me. Mere minutes before my appointment, and, yep, you guessed it, they call me to reschedule AGAIN! This time, it's over a note they need from my Dr. because of a medical event that I had six months ago. During the many months of rescheduling, they HAD THIS INFORMATION, but only decided to act on it ten minutes before my appointment, while I'm sitting in traffic, having taken yet another partial day off of work! They recommended I get my teeth cleaned four times a year, but they won't actually see me that often. I'm three cleanings past due. Again, my dentist is awesome. I really like him. I guess I'll never get to see him again, though? Does anyone have a suggestion for a good dentist that actually wants my business?

That meant paying twice for something that should have been done right the first time. When I reached out to address these concerns, they were dismissive and took no accountability. The front office staff can also be very pushy when it comes to additional treatments, and their attitude noticeably changes if you decline. I was sick with a sinus infection and tried to cancel the 2nd appointment on the Friday before a Tuesday appointment over a holiday weekend. They were very aggressive about wanting to charge me for the appointment. The consultation was quick and informative, although it took many weeks to get an accurate quote. This could be insurance taking a while and not them. The day of surgery I was terribly nervous. The demeanor of the doctor was calm and serious, but he kindly walked me through every step he was taking with a calm voice. I went under and was told the procedure took less than 1 hour I'm on day one of recovery so far and my only problem is pain. I've never felt groggy so I believe the sedation was done perfectly.
