We have been dealing with this issue since May. When I called to make this appointment at Atlanta Oral Surgery, Sugar Hill I was assured that my insurance through Delta Dental was accepted. Upon my arrival and check-in, not once did anyone say "Did you receive our message that we do not accept your insurance?" because I did not in fact receive any messages. Upon checking out, the billing person claimed they left a message in which I checked all the phones from my daughters to my husbands and no one had received any messages from your offices. Not once was I told upon check in that my insurance did not cover this visit. When I was checking out the lady said that my insurance did not cover anything and that she left a message for me and I looked at her and asked what number did she leave the message on and she read off some unknown number. I told her that is not my number and when I checked in, no one told me my insurance did not cover this visit. You all checked me in and said absolutely nothing. I called and explained this to Val and she informed me that I would not be charged due to the inability for their office to follow proper procedures and protocol. Several days later I received messages from Andrea in the corporate office and a bill from your offices that we owe these funds. Several months later after receiving a bill in the mail I called and spoke to Gerri and tried to explain this to her. She was very dismissive and claimed I didn't have a referral which is why I was being charged... I did have a referral from our dentist. Then she said it had to be from Kaiser? The lack of communication is astounding.

The inside of the left cheek right at the opening corner of the mouth had a bump/growth/scar tissue there. Many of the dentists I saw in the past stated the bump/growth/scar tissue needed to be removed. But they could not do it and I needed to see an oral surgeon. She saw the issue and told me she would laser it off in the office. I had that done today in 20 minutes. No charge. Where is this ever going to happen??? Dr. Ashley Currington, DMD cares about her patients. This was a simple procedure. I tell everyone I see about the great treatment you receive in her practice. You can't call what Dr. Currington does for her patients-practice. She gets it right every time. I have a very nice smile thanks to her and her staff. I recommend you check her out for ALL your dental needs. You will be glad you did!! Brian H.

They took photos of my teeth and showed them to me on a large monitor to point out where I had tooth decay. Since there were so many "cavities" they divided the work into two appointments. The first appointment was very uncomfortable, the dentist seemed rushed and didn't want me to swallow as often as I needed to. I was sick with a sinus infection and tried to cancel the 2nd appointment on the Friday before a Tuesday appointment over a holiday weekend. They were very aggressive about wanting to charge me for the appointment. I decided to get a second opinion and actually got two other dentists to look at the photos and x-rays and they both said the so-called cavities were only stains and natural wear on the teeth and did not need treatment. Sadly, I had already paid for over $2K in unneeded and uncomfortable dental work.

And I was replacing my dentures at the top because I had them for more than 15 years. The producer went well and the healing wasn't bad. About a month later which was March I went in to have some adjustment done. Which is normal. But I let them as well that I felt like there was too much teeth or gum. The teeth did not look right in my mouth. They are very oversized. So, from March to May I was going in every week or two week for them to make some adjustment. On June 19th was the day they suppose to do my finally adjustment, I go to my appointment as schedule to only be told that I needed to come back. I was over it at this time because I kept getting mouth sores at the bottom were the dentures oversized. So I finally got to see another doctor. Did I mention I never seen the same doctor. Every time I went I seen someone different. So we are in July now, and when the doctor came in, she asks me to smile and I couldn't. I had to focus a smile. And she said something isn't right, the bit was off, the bit was too hard, and the teeth was big for my mouth. But instead of correcting the mistake at their cost. I had to pay additional 1340.00 on top of what I had already paid for the dental work in order for them to correct the oversize teeth they made.

When I came to Hamilton Mill Oral & Facial Surgery (Dr. Yadira Cardona-Rohena's practice) for a surgical procedure, I expected precision--and what I received was far beyond that. From the moment I walked through the door, I was treated with the same respect and attention that one would hope to receive in any high-performance team environment. The staff greeted me promptly, introduced themselves clearly, and explained each step of the process in plain but comprehensive terms--something I value deeply after years of mission briefings and operational de-briefings. Dr. Cardona-Rohena displayed a level of competence and compassion that is rare. She took the time to listen to my concerns, assessed the situation thoroughly, and laid out the options with clarity and transparency. Her background in oral and maxillofacial surgery--supported by rigorous training in jaw, face, and mouth complexities--was evident. Her confidence put me at ease; her empathy reminded me of the camaraderie I've known in service. The facility's atmosphere is relaxed yet professional--no sterile impersonal coldness, no feeling like a number. The ancillary staff were efficient, punctual, and friendly; the pre-operative and post-operative protocols were handled smoothly. From the front desk through billing and follow-up, the entire "mission" was executed flawlessly. Having served and relied on teams where failure is not an option, I can honestly say that the care I received here met and exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for oral and facial surgical care from a practice that treats you like a valued individual--not just a procedure--Hamilton Mill Oral & Facial Surgery delivers.

I first showed up for an extraction (Sept 22), and instead of being treated, I was told that I needed to schedule another appointment for the surgery, and I would have to continue in pain. I went to the next appointment (Oct 3) and they took out my tooth but it was like social hour at the club! Idle chat and conversation in Spanish, while carving my tooth out between Dr. Cardona and her staff. I returned the next week (Oct 8) for a surgery check and complained of the sharp edges. Dr. Cardona polished one corner off, and it felt better. They said that if I needed more takeoff to feel more comfortable, then I could come back. I went back in for them to do this at the appointed surgery day, scheduled time (Oct 14th), and I was told that I could not be seen until after another patient. They had two cases scheduled at the same time. If I stayed, I would miss my Cardiac Stress Test. I chose to leave. After that, they scheduled me in again (only on surgery day) (Oct 17th) at lunch, and I did forget since I was involved in another urgent matter. When I called, they refused to see me and only referred me back to the VA. When I explained that the sharp point on my tooth was cutting my lower lip, it didn't resonate. I know that the VA probably sent a lot of taxpayer dollars to this outfit (Yadira Cardona-Rohena, DMD), but as a veteran, the government should get a refund! They deserve way less than 4.7 stars. Patient beware! BP
