Aspen Dental sucks. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's terrific that they're open on Saturday. It's unbelievable how scarce dentist offices are when it comes to the weekend. They're an everyday of the week necessity - just like the hospital and just like the grocery stores. BUT being the only dentistry open, these guys are greedy and capitalistic unfortunately. I come in a little past 7am - around when they open. I see a sign on the window "walk in's welcome!" So I walk right on in. What am I greeted with? A weary, apathetic receptionist and the rest of the group. They're like "we're already behind we might not be able to see you" - ma'am you've only been open 30 minutes and if I'm coming to you and telling you I got a serious issue I think that warrants a visit. Ultimately they think so too but here's the catch - they come up with some pure nonsense about how insurance companies are unreachable on Saturdays so you'll just have to pay 320 dollars for two images and a brief exam. Didn't even ask for my insurance card. EXCUSE ME? Talk about a scam. What gets under my skin is how greedy and eager to take advantage of my - and other people's - poor circumstances. I urgently needed to be checked on and get some antibiotics for my tooth before a literally blizzard blows into town and they couldn't care less. So I went to freaking urgent care and called an endodontist and got my help that way. If you think you don't got any other choices for your sudden tooth pain then to drop 300 on this place, you're wrong. These guys have to advertise aggressively because the reviews don't bring in customers on their own. I'd probably give it more stars if I could've been seen but, that's the issue. Well, keep on looking, because this is NOT the place to be unless you want the run around, evasive answers to questions and to feel like just another person giving them money. AND this place is SUPER expensive, even though their on hold message attempts to say otherwise. Took me 5 phone calls to get a rude office manager Tiffany on the actual phone. After I was given half answers/ to get them further info (instead of calling to get it themselves) from a receptionist, I immedicaetly got the requested info to the best of my capabilities. Tiffany did not take me up on the offer to 3 way into the other office that did the start of my process to get the information directly from them. I was met w the, other dental offices dont want to give us info because we take money from them. That was odd answer and not the case here, the person at the other office offered to speak directly to her. My teeth has been in horrible shape for many years, been to many different dentists and was always told that they could fix my teeth and I didn't need to get dentures. Many thousands of dollars later, my teeth were still all messed up, ashamed to smile, and very low self confidence because of them. I made an appointment with the Clarksville IN office, went in and they listened to what I wanted, worked with me on getting financing, and 2 weeks later I have new set of teeth. I got dentures at Aspen d e ntures and they did not fit. I did go back for an adjustment still did not fit. I didn't go back but I continue to pay for something I can not use. My experience with this practice has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing, and unfortunately, this is not a one-time issue--it's been consistent across multiple appointments. First appointment: The dentist was only a few minutes late, which I shrugged off. I understand things happen, and people run late sometimes. No big deal. Second appointment: I arrived early, was already in the parking lot, and then got a call saying they had to cancel because the dentist had called out sick. I get that people get sick, but to be told this after I had already woken up at 4 a.m. to make the appointment, then go through my entire workday--all for nothing--was incredibly frustrating. Third appointment: I called ahead to confirm if I would be having imaging done during my visit. I was told I had the wrong date, even though I had received a reminder confirming the original appointment time. The staff didn't even address my original question about imaging, and I had to ask again. After they "checked," I was told no imaging would be done. Fourth appointment: Less than 10 minutes after that, someone called me back to tell me the cost of the imaging, which was completely irrelevant to my question about the appointment itself. I was also told that I would be having imaging and an exam with my cleaning--despite being told the opposite earlier. Then, I was passed off to someone else, who apologized, saying the person I spoke with was still training and needed to learn. This isn't just one isolated incident--it's a pattern. As someone who works in a front office across multiple locations, I understand the occasional miscommunication. But when every appointment is a headache and there's a new issue each time--whether it's scheduling errors, conflicting information, or a lack of organization--it's clear that the problem is systemic. I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The constant confusion and lack of accountability have made this a very frustrating experience. The only consistent thing here is that no one knows what's going on, and no one takes responsibility. I made an appointment with Aspen Dental. I am a bus driver and cannot use my phone while driving, so I could not take calls, plus Aspen calls from unrecognizable phone numbers. When I arrived, I was told that my appointment was canceled because I hadn't confirmed. a lady who worked there asked me what services I was interested in. I told her dentures. I wanted to know the different types and prices. she told me that I could continue with the appointment, but I would have to pay 60% of the service that day and I would receive what ever dentures that the dentist recommended. I will not go back, apparently my choice of dentures didn't matter plus I cannot come up with that kind of money on a moments notice. I have never encountered a dental facility as badly organized with bad dental practices as Aspen Dental. read more

This place is truly horrible. My husband broke a tooth and was in severe pain, so we called to schedule an emergent dental appointment. We drove all the way out there for them to tell me that I couldn't go back with him because of COVID. I work on an ambulance that lifted our COVID policy restricting riders almost a year ago but you're telling me a dental office still has restrictions on this? I understand restricting a whole family, but a spouse? What a joke. Also, more importantly, the "care and treatment" my husband got was nonexistent. Firstly, (without even assessing him to find out what work needed to be done) they told him they weren't going to be able to do any work on him today because they were "booked." Why did we even bother scheduling an emergent appointment if you were booked and couldn't treat him?! Then, they told him he was going to have to pay the costs up front and in full. Who has hundreds of dollars to drop on a dental emergency, especially in today's economy? Anyways, he was told his tooth needed to be removed but because it was closer to the back of his mouth, the dentist wasn't comfortable pulling it and that my husband needed to find an oral surgeon to do this. They didn't even so much at try to refer him. But, my husband has a regular dentist that just pulled a tooth that was even further back than this one with no problems. We just couldn't get in to see him for two weeks, whereas Aspen offered an "emergent appointment" the next day. If I had known it was going to be a total waste of time, I wouldn't have even booked with them. As if that isn't enough, while my husband is sitting there in pain after they tell him they won't do anything for him they tried to convince him to get $2,400 (out of pocket) worth of non-emergent work done. They have no interest in actually taking care of their patients, just lining their wallet. read more

After making an initial appointment, I purchased membership in the AD Savings plan for $39. I was expecting a regular first appointment including x-rays and cleaning. I answered two texts, and one email, confirming appointment. Then a voicemail requiring a call back by end of day, or my appointment would be cancelled. When I called, I was told that there were NO hygienists in the office, and that "maybe" I would be able to schedule a cleaning "when a temp was available." BUT FIRST, I must have an exam, and then create a treatment plan. That plan might include one of four different cleanings. Which one is covered by the plan? She didn't know or would not say. How much do they cost? "I can't give that information over the phone," was her answer. I could not tell if she were ignorant of the information or just being obstinate. So--- no one to clean teeth. The plan may or may not cover expenses of cleaning? (Something tells me of the four-tier cleaning options, the recommended one was not going to be covered.) And no way to schedule a future cleaning, since they only have temps/PRN. I called the Savings Plan - once they confirmed I had NOT used any benefits, agreed to refund my money. Oh, and also the office worker was pretty short when I asked why send texts and emails for confirmation if a VERBAL was REQUIRED? She said that the texts and emails alerted me to call, and I hadn't. I had kept all correspondence, and -No - they did not say that. read more

Front office receptionist unprofessional with an attitude and mouthful of food. Zero customer service when asked why I was charged for insurance covered free/included procedures/service from prior visit. Could NOT guarantee that my free cleaning would be covered by my insurance when I arrived??? (Weird). BEWARE...The Dixie location is TERRIBLE I wish ZERO was an option! There are multiple complaints but not sure if there is enough space!! I had an absess tooth and called for an emergency appt. They told me they had nothing available unless I was a NEW patient!! (WHAT??) Another time I had a temp crown put on and it was set too tall causing my upper tooth to crack when I was eating until my permanent crown was ready which caused me the expense of another crown that is STILL not right! Another time I Went in for a cleaning and the rude counter worker told me I had to pay a co-pay that I DO NOT have on my insurance plan or I would not be seen. I called my insurance provider to confirm no copay is required. I told her they are saying I do not owe a copay and asked if she wanted to speak with them and she said she wasn't gonna talk to anyone. This same person that was so rude to me I listened to on the phone on a previous visit being just as rude to another client. These are some of my experiences but my husbands are even worse. Avoid this dentist at all costs; you're better off finding an actual emergency dentist in town or in general anybody else but here. I attempted to go into this dentist office for a simple extraction of a broken tooth that had happened just hours before I scheduled my appointment. Because of faulty blood pressure equipment and x-ray equipment they were unable to complete my extraction. They provided me on the lowest dosage possible of antibiotics and made me pre-pay and schedule an advance the extraction for the following week. This was a Wednesday. By Sunday I was in the ER trying to desperately get new antibiotics and something for the pain because my face has swollen up to three times the size that it was the day that I went in for a simple extraction, again that they refused to do because of their faulty equipment. By early Monday morning I finally found another dentist that was willing to take me in on an emergency situation. By the time I had arrived my face was almost 5 times the size it should've been I was in excruciating pain that nothing would help and the infection that had formed due to lack of proper antibiotics being prescribed initially was oozing out of my eyes and my nostril. I have attempted to resolve this issue with Aspen dental because I feel that they absolutely were negligent and not providing the service that I went in for. Due to this uneducated decision by a dentist barely out of dental school I ended up having to have a bone graft in my sinus cavity and I am facing 3-9 months of healing. Aspen dental will do nothing. I have reached out to several attorneys and unfortunately because I wasn't permanently disfigured or died there's not enough money in it for them. I made 37 phone calls to try to find an attorney to help me in anyway and not a single employee in this city would help because it was not a big enough case. Be on the lookout for 37 reviews. I am absolutely distraught and traumatized by the situation. I beg of all of you pass it on do not go to Aspen dental at all. Way more reputable dentists have already told me that that was my first mistake and believe me there's actually a lot more to the story. This place is nothing but a money wheel they come in only to create more issues than you originally had so that they can keep collecting money from you. My $150 extraction ended up at this point costing me almost $2000. Such a shame that they didn't actually get the money that they caused me to have to pay out. This place should be closed down immediately. And all of the medical professional licenses should be stripped pending further investigation anybody reading this review that can be of assistance feel free to do whatever you want to do. The staff was totally professional, from the front desk personnel to the dentist. They were proficient and very caring. The office was clean and well run. Freezing waiting room, waited over an hour one day, and 45 minutes the next, and my feet and hands were numb with cold. All we wanted was zoom whitening for my daughter, was told how great it is, the doctor showed us her teeth as an example, etc. was told it was on special for $299. Ended up being charged $411, and after a 2 1/2 hour ordeal, my daughter's teeth looked the same, and she was feeling ill because her throat was so sore and dry. She couldn't go back to school, and was nearly in tears because it didn't work. I asked to talk to the doctor right after, and was told she was busy with another patient. From the initial x-ray, which was unusable due to their defectively placing x-ray shield, to the dingy woman who said that the law requires they take more x-rays (apparently trained to parrot those words if patients ask any questions), to interaction with the extremely unprofessional dentist / owner, the place should be avoided at all costs. Bad experience dealing with staff. Aspen would charge me full bill after services were rendered. They were never able to work with my insurance company. When I disputed these charges and called the office, they almost had a meltdown blaming me and my insurance company. Tooth filling done here had to be reworked a year later. What a waste of money! Walked out of dental appointment. Completely unprofessional attitude and atmosphere. Waiting room and other areas were generally dirty. Employees engaged in inappropriate and unprofessional conversations in earshot of patients. Techs touched the wall and other items and then put their fingers in my mouth. Bathroom not prepared for patient use. After one and a half hours, and only x-rays complete, office staff comes to discuss "pricing." I have insurance that pays for two cleanings per year. Nothing to discuss. I completed all forms in advance and they had my insurance information. After an hour and a half, I asked when my teeth were going to be cleaned, "Oh not today, this is an initial "exam." No one I talked to during the initial paper work process told me this was to be an exam only. I have never been to a dentist for a first visit who didn't clean my teeth. It's clear through this personal experience and conversations I heard that Aspen is profit centric and not patient centric. My rating is zero stars. This has been the worst experience ever! My wife started in January 2017 with the goal of having implants. Its now been 10 months and all she has is an ill fitting denture. She has seen the actual dentist only twice in that time period. We have already paid the full price of $24,000. for the implants. Went in for simple extraction at Aspen Dental, 1116 Veterans Pkwy, Clarksville, IN 47129, on April 23, 2018 from 6:53 AM to 9:58 AM. Turned into surgical extraction. Pre numbed between the gum and cheek but not the roof of the mouth. Novocain went in okay but very uncomfortable between the gum and cheek. Absolutely horrifying pain when the needle went in the roof of my mouth. The tooth was removed, at least I thought it was. The Novocain wore off in less than 15 minutes. I was again in horrifying and agonizing pain. Finally, the prescription was filled for the hydrocodone. Took two of them immediately while in Walgreens. Wife finally got me back home. Finally, after 1 hour and 20 minutes of excruciating pain, it started to subside. 3 days later I started feeling a sharp pain where the tooth had been extracted. I discovered there is still a piece of broken tooth in the gum. I was told before leaving the dental office that it would be an extra $80 for the "surgical" extraction. I have never paid that extra $80 and never will. I still have a sharp pain because of incompetent dental work. I will never return to that "butcher shop" again. read more

Most of the people are nice. I always have to wait forever to get taken back. I got a temp crown put on then went to get it off got sent somewhere else to see about a root canal then go back to get my permanent crown and here I am with a temp again cause they want mine smaller. When I asked if I was going to get charged this petite blonde got all snotty about no because it was a remake. I was just asking I have that right since it's their mess up and the stuff is expensive. So I am going to have this crown waiting for a permanent one for 2 1/2 months now. This is ridiculous. They act like oh no big deal. I still have to get fillings and they haven't even started on that. I will finish with them and definitely be going somewhere else. This place is retarded. If you want your teeth worked on before you're 1000 years old and dead then this is not the place. Oh and then hygienist is barely there so I got sent to Outer Loop for a deep cleaning which was two trips. read more

Best experience I've had at a dentist. My husband and I were made to feel very comfortable and at ease with moving forward to get dentures. The entire staff were extremely nice and professional. There was not one person who wasn't smiling. I am looking forward to getting my smile back and can't wait to tell everyone I know to come to Aspen Dental in Clarksville, IN.
