I am sharing my experience to help others make an informed decision. I was charged over $6,000 for dental services at this location and experienced multiple quality issues shortly after treatment. A temporary crown was improperly secured and came off the following day while eating soft food. The permanent crown required remaking due to incorrect measurements, and several fillings began breaking apart within one day of placement. Because of these issues, I now need to seek care from another dentist to evaluate and correct work that was recently completed. I also experienced ongoing administrative and back-office issues that contributed to poor communication and errors during my treatment. The dental hygienist was professional and did provide good care. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this location. I am pursuing review through my dental insurance and providing documentation from my current dentist regarding the condition of the work performed. read more

Type of care, I received a filling and they didn't do it correctly they drilled the hole out and put a thin layer to fill it so needless to say it's not safe for me to bite down on. And the make you pay way over the estimate and send it to your insurance company who pays more but you have to go to them begging for your over payment back. I made a new patient appointment here because I was long overdue for a cleaning and figured with aspens ease of making appointments online I wouldn't have to take away from my work day to call and schedule. After about a week, aspen sent me a confirmation email stating they have no intentions of giving me a cleaning and expects to pay a bunch of money just for X-rays. I'm not making a dentist appointment just to talk to a dentist, I'm making a dentist appointment to get my teeth cleaned. If you're not going to do anything with my teeth you should probably be up front about that during the scheduling process. read more

Be careful with their estimates. They will misquote what insurance will cover. After the procedure you will receive a surprise bill for the entire procedure because they didn't understand what your insurance policy actually covered. read more

I have to agree with Brian P. I went into the office to pay a bill for 299.00 so I gave the girl my care credit card and she charged my card over 1000. I am on a fixed income with no dental insurance and it's going to take me forever to pay that credit card off. I will never go back to Aspen Dental again. I received a couple of fillings here two years ago while visiting my parents. They had to be removed by my dentist due to their poor quality. My current dentist described it as "some of the worst dental work I've ever seen." The work they did was also painful, despite my insistence that I was not numb. Due to the poor quality of the work, I now am faced with a root canal and crown to fix what they destroyed. If I could, I'd send them the bill for the work I'm having done. Don't go here. read more

I believe it was in July of 2021 that my wife and I finally found a dentist who agreed that he could remove her remaining teeth and Aspen dental couold make her dentures. This was after three years of struggling to convince my wife, her cardiologist, and Aspen dental that this could and should be done.(Aspen Dental originally sent us to the U of Iowa dentistry college who in turn wanted $30,000 to remove the teeth with $15,000 up front!!!!) Coming back to Aspen dental we met a Dr. Crystal who felt this could be done in piece meal and finally we could afford it!!! My wife had three teeth removed on the 16th of August and went back on the 14th of September believing she would have five more removed on that day. Imagine her surprise when she arrived and Dr. Crystal was gone!!!!!! It seems he was just a "float" dentist until a new oral surgeon was hired!!!!!! To make matters worse the new oral surgeon isn't even a full fledged dentist based on my and my wife's experience!! This new surgeon "doesn't do extractions!!!!!!" Which is similar to Physician's Assistants that came on the medical scene some years ago. These medical professionals could diagnose but the could not prescribe medicine or treatment without consulting an MD. Thereby earning them the nickname of "Play Doctors"! I had two appointments late 2018, I owed some money to this location for some previous work done, I went into the office and said "I want to pay for everything on my account so I don't have to come back" (as now it is extremely out of the way) I have been recieving bills every so often for small amounts here and there and I called to discuss my issue with someone who told me "it was for my appointment in 2019" (which I never had one) I told them the case and they told me they would give me a call back with more information, and never did. I have now noticed they took a charge I should never had to pay to collections, thus reducing my credit score by 50 points. Thanks Aspen Dental. read more

Awesome experience. I was looking for a new dentist, and Aspen Dental, Davenport was just the right place for me. From the first phone call with Rusty, he was able to get me an appointment surprisingly fast. When other places were looking at many weeks, I was able to get in within just a couple of days. When I got there, everyone was so friendly and helpful. The office staff, hygienist, and doctors all were great to work with. The hygienist and doctor both explained exactly what they were doing, and I got a clean smile of health. I am actually looking forward to my future appointments thanks to the great staff. I would highly recommend anyone searching for a new dental office, give Aspen Dental, Davenport a try, you will not be disappointed. read more

The only reason I use Aspen is because it's the only choice my dental insurance allows. This office is just as bad as the Moline, IL office. I'm glad this practice values its patients time. I had scheduled an 8:30 appointment only to be seen at 9 am. After being called back, I sat for X-rays and was then told the room was not ready and to please wait in the lobby. After another 20 minutes, I asked how much longer the wait would be and why the wait? I was told due to oral surgery there was an additional wait. I left the office without having anything else done. My advice is to skip this place if you can. This place has the worst service. I hate Aspen Dental! read more

Very unorganized. I sat in the dental chair with a bib on for an hour waiting for the dentist to look at my teeth. There was only one other patient who was brought back after me. They did not have their prices the same as quoted over the phone. We were led to believe the cleaning and exam would be on the same day but we had to reschedule for the cleaning. You can't call the office directly, you have to put in your zip code and they transfer you. During the exam on my second visit I was poked in the face with the dental instrument because the dentist wasn't using care and seemed nervous. I had to tell him where I thought I may have a cavity because he didn't find it himself. One hand did not know what they other was doing. They confirmed my husbands appointment to my phone but never confirmed mine. High school students could have run the office better. Unprofessional. read more

Scheduled an appointment for 3:15. Arrived at 3 pm to fill out paperwork. The waiting room had 6 people in it. I watched as every person was called in ahead of me (some of which were walk ins). Fine, whatever. The issue I had was after an hour of waiting, a lady comes in for her 4 pm appointment and gets called into a room at 4:05. I asked why I was still waiting, and they said they "had me down" for a 45 min- 1 hr wait time. That is how you treat new patients? Schedule an appointment, but then allow them to sit in the waiting room for up to that long? Bad business practice. read more

My husband and I have been going to Aspen Dental for a year. We set our appointments to a schedule that works for us. They bug you to death with phone call after phone call to try to change your appointment time. I have asked them to put it in our file not to call and ask if they can change our appointments, our life is too hectic for that. We have to schedule our appointments weeks in advance. They not only call asking us to come in earlier or on a different day, and if you say no they have someone call two and three times to get you to change your mind. I schedule my cleaning six months in advance they call and tell you they need to change it or that they have to cancel it do to not having a dental hygienist available to do it. This has happened to every appointment I have had with them. I am fed up and am looking for a new Dentist. Their commercial with Dana Kipatrick Is a lie " we work around your schedule". What ever day or time we will get you in. Nothing but lies. Then they put you on a guilt trip as why I need to be more flexible, and more understanding to their problems. I never get the same Dentist twice, they don't stick around long enough to. read more

These guys don't deserve a star! They make a mistake and they make you pay for it months later. They couldn't fix my problem, I will have to go somewhere else to get it done right! The Aspen Dental in Davenport, Ia has Poor time management, there is only one dentist on site (or at least it seems) because it will take awhile before you see him. Also I felt that he didn't really listen to me when I was telling him something was wrong with the fillings. He could tell their was something wrong and tried to fix it but he didn't really listen to me as to what I was feeling and where so that it could be fixed correctly. I had to go in at least three times to fix a problem with a filling and ended having to redo one and still had problems. I felt uncomfortable their. All they advertise their is how well they do dentures. I felt like I shouldn't be there because I didn't need dentures and I also wondered if they actually knew how to do more than just dentures. Also their financial team sucks. They don't really communicate with each other because if you call and you need to talk to someone higher up, they take your number for them to call you back and it can take a long time or not at all. I prepaid for all my services at my initial checkup and was kind of forced to pay for a 6 month checkup ahead of time. When the last of my dental work was completed (in June), I was told I should get a refund but had to wait for my insurance to go through. Well a few months later (in Oct) when I had to cancel the prescheduled checkup, I inquired about the refund and they told me the same thing as before. The office also told me they will have someone call me. Well no one ever did and I just happened to notice that my bill was lower than before because they apparently issued the refund. Well about 5 months after I received the refund, I received a bill in the mail four days before the bill was due and apparently It was already past due ( never received a bill before this). I called them and they told me I have to pay back the refund they gave me because I wasn't supposed to get it. Then they told me that They made a mistake an charged me more than my refund and will cover that but I still owe the rest which is about $500. They were jerks on the phone and are not sorry for the mistake they made. Poor service all around. I will not be going back to them again. read more

This was the worst experience I've had at the dentist. A filling repair should have been quick and easy. Was given numbing medication, waited 45 min in the chair, then had to be given more because it wore off. Dr. Steven Michael used some latex piece over my mouth while refilling my tooth and was grabbing my jaw very hard. Two days later I still have a bruised jaw and gums. The hygienist was rough and repeatedly sprayed my face with water. Unprofessional and horrible service. read more

My overall impression of Aspen dental is pretty "meh." The staff is nice enough, but I was not at all impressed with the service. At my first appointment, I was told to arrive 15 minutes before my appointment to fill out paperwork. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment to find the doors were locked and they did not unlock the doors until five minutes before my appointment time. Rude!!! I was able to complete all of my paperwork before my actual appointment time and still ended up waiting 20 minutes to be seen, even though I was the first appointment of the day. I had broken off a crown with the tooth still inside and they were able to get me in right away to file down a sharp area that was bothering me, so I did appreciate that. The remainder of the tooth was to be pulled at a later date due to the fact that I was leaving the country on vacation and didn't want to have any issues while I was in a foreign country. At the original appointment the Dr. said there was a little bit of infection in the area but gave no antibiotics to me, so I didn't think much of it. For the follow up appointment: I literally received 6 different confirmations via emails, phone calls, and text messages which I found to be slightly annoying! The day of my appointment I got a phone call 37 min before my appointment asking me if I could come in sooner. Seriously, how much sooner could I have possibly came in with that kind of notice? I arrived about 5 min before my appointment time and waited about 5 min in the lobby and an additional 25 min in the dental chair before I even got the novocain, and then another 15 min before the tooth was extracted. So this wait time makes me wonder why I was even asked to come in early if the appointment before me canceled??? I had a molar removed and received no sutures. The site bled very heavily for about 8 hours and I was having to change out the gauze about every 30 min because it was saturated with blood. I have had other teeth pulled and was always given a stitch or two to minimize bleeding and can't recall ever bleeding so profusely or for that length of time. I was extremely nauseated due to all of the bleeding. I'm not an expert, but I felt like the Dr was in a hurry to get to the next patient and didn't want to take the extra time to put a stitch or two in. Before he rushed off, I did happen to ask about the infection and he asked if I received antibiotics at my previous appointment and when I told him I hadn't, his reply was literally "Oh, well if I had seen you, I would've given you some before the extraction, but it should be ok. Let me know if you have any issues." Really?!?! It seemed like a never ending revolving door of people coming in and out of the office and I did not like not seeing the same person twice. Maybe this doesn't bother some people, but I will be looking for a dentist office where I can have the same dentist all the time and where they don't cram so many people in and make their patients sit and wait so long. I have enough anxiety about going in the first place without having to wait 40 min for the procedure to take place. read more

Never had an appointment that lasted less than 2 hours. Left sitting w/ instuments in my numb mouth for @ least 20 minutes on several different occasions. On two different occasions waited over 30 minutes after scheduled apt time to get called back, but when my husband was a few minutes late for an apt they refused to see him & were incredibly rude. Will never go back to any Aspen Dental office, had bad experiences @ both Moline and Davenport offices. read more

I was a transfer patient from Aspen Dental in Phoenix, AZ. I scheduled my first appointment with this office and told the scheduler that I needed cleaning and routine check up. When I arrived for my first appointment, they had me scheduled for "free" xrays and nothing more. No visit with dentist, no cleaning. I was told I needed to shedule another appointment for the check up and cleaning. I had to take off work and use vacation time for this appointment, so I was very irritated by it and let them know I was not happy that I would need to take another day off work and asked them if they would pay me for my lost vacation day. Of course, the answer to that question was "no", but you are getting "free xrays". I told them I didn't need free xrays as I had insurance. I asked why I wasn't scheduled for an appointment for cleaning when I told them I needed that and they said that they didn't know what kind of cleaning I needed until they saw me. Right! That could have been resolved on the phone by a simple question like "Have you ever had to have deep cleaning, planing and scaling?" If the customer says no, most likely it is a routine cleaning. Then the hygienist was able to work me in and cleaned my teeth, but didn't bother to go under my bridge with the floss as she was too busy talking to someone else. When I asked for a prescription for Prevident Sensitive tooth paste, she told me they would get me ClinPro, that I would like that better, but it was more expensive at $27 per tube compared to $17 for Prevident. They did mail me the ClinPro so I didn't have to take more time off work to go to the office to get it. When I received it, I looked at the label and it doesn't contain potassium nitrate to help relieve the sensitivity. So I wasted $27 on something that isn't going to be helpful. I have now called the office to see if they would have the dentis order the Prevident Sensitive at Walmart. Total time for what should have been an hour long appointment was 3 hours. If this occurs again, I'm going to ask them to reimburse me for my time at $50.00/hour which is my rate of pay at my job. read more
