Today I've had my fifth deep cleaning session with Aspen dental. The prices were convenient and affordable. The office is well equipped with very clean and high technology tools. The doctor was very kind but more knowledgable and experienced is recommended. I was lucky I was offered a free visit from by the office manager when I told her I'am paying too many bills! Can't believe I'm doing this. But I'm gonna come on to an app I don't use a ton to say something nice about a dental office. I came here for a 2nd opinion after getting quoted at $7k across town. The staff here is incredible. I couldn't believe it. At a chain dental place, I've discovered the best staff anywhere in Massachusetts. Highlights were: 1) a totally pain free route canal. I didn't know that was possible. 2) a very pleasant, professional clinical team. they deliver a consistent message, no upselling. 3) a front desk staff that went so beyond anything I could expect. They argued with my insurance for over an hour and got what I owe from $7,000 down to $2,000. Thank you Jessica! 4) for the first time in over a decade, I feel like I'm on an actual path towards dental health. I don't review anything. But I've told everyone in my personal life and I want more people to know. read more

There's no worst than Aspen dental in the Dedham/ Norwood / walpole area area. Still using some outdated equipment. I had the worst experience in my whole life with them: a "doctor" took an hour trying to extract a tooth, and finally he left a big piece, which is still in. It was so painful, you'd rather spend an hour in hell! I switched dentist, I went there and signed release forms, so they can transfer my family records to my new dentist; they told me that in 8 to 10 business day everything should be all set, so far after 3 months they've not sent the records. If you are new to the Deham/ Norwood/ Walpole area, and looking for a dentist, please avoid Aspen Dental. read more

The worst dental experience I have ever had! I recently moved to the area and was looking for a dentist. The woman doing my x-rays took over an hour to take them and kept hurting me. She even said to me: "you're going to be the difficult one, aren't you?" She was beyond rude and made me extremely uncomfortable. Then, after an examination, I had to go to a financials advisor because they told me my insurance was only partially covered. (After I was told it would be fully covered when I called prior to going!) I left and scheduled an appointment at another dentist office that day. read more

Made an appointment almost 2 weeks out and stressed with her on the phone I need a tooth pulled. I arrived early and was subjected to a whole head scan, then an entire set of xrays, then a hygienist exam of my gums and then finally the dentist. Yes that tooth needs to be pulled we will schedule that. What!!! What part of it screams in pain did you miss? I have been here for 90 minutes while they "worked me up" and padded the bill for the insurance company. The dentist says if you can wait I can do it. OK. 10 minutes later the office manger comes in and goes oh no. We have to schedule another appointment, (my guess to get another office visit charge with insurance). I can't just schedule an appointment I am working 12 hour days. I walked out 100% frustrated and disgusted with Aspen Dental. read more

One star is too many for these people! Went in for the first time just for a normal cleaning and also to simply glue back a crown that had come off. They took zillions of x-rays for no reason just to bill the insurance. One of those x-rays insurance covers just once every 5 years. Without telling me anything about it. What a fraud! Then the time came for cleaning. They said I needed DEEP cleaning (I didn't as I visited multiple doctors just shortly before and after them and this never came up!). And hence I should pay hundreds more instead of having a fully covered annual normal cleaning. Can't believe they did not even do the regular cleaning which every dental office in the world does!! They did not stick my crown with a permanent glue because they said I had to see a root canal specialist for a tooth that had been already root canaled 15 years ago and never had any issue with. Again, to just upsell and charge you as much as humanly possible! They hesitantly and with so much disdain used a temporary glue that came off just the next day! The next freaking day! I went there again and the office staff were unfriendly and unprofessional. Used another temp glue for the crown! That one came off just hours later!! Just decided to run away from them as far as I could. Found Epic Dental Norwood and went there. The difference was day and night! DAY and NIGHT! Epic Dental Norwood staff were very professional, friendly and di not try to milk my insurance as much as they could. The dentist and her assistant were amazing and did a great job with my crown. Folks, do NOT go to this place! you will regret it. Just go to a better office. A lot of People had the same horrible experience as me. They use same fraud tactics on everyone! I went there today with a terrible toothache. They saw me and they took X-ray. The manager Elizabeth explain to me my options and payments she was extremely helpful. The dentist told me I can have that tooth out today if you want too. They told me to be there by 5 pm. I am very happy to say the dentist was amazing, she made sure I didn't have any pain and the helper was very attentive. I will come back to have my fillings done. read more

Went for a regular cleaning which should have been of no charge. When I came out they charged me $40 for a fluoride rinse which took about 30 seconds. When asked, the answer was that it is only covered for ages up to 16 and I should ask them the next time around. Thank you for letting me know after the fact! Nickel and diming place. read more

I went in as a new patient to get a consultation. No one was at the front desk and it took 10 min for someone to give me paperwork to fill out. I then waited nearly 45 min before anyone said anything to me about my appointment status. Then someone came out and asked me my last name, looked on a computer and said "let me check" for you. She never came back to tell me what was going on. I went to the desk to ask when I'll be seen. The person said, let me check. I asked how long the consultation takes and she said 1-1.5 hrs. I couldn't do it because I had to be at work in the next 30 min. She asked if I wanted to reschedule. Absolutely not! Why would I allow you to waste my time again?! I will find another place that is respectful of my time. I do not recommend Aspen due to this poor customer service experience. read more

Teeth got very sensitive for several months after deep cleaning and filling...even need to take pain killer after the filling...I thought it was normal, but after switching to another dentist, I realized that it shouldn't be like that. Each time I visited Aspen Dental a new dentist would be there and they all seemed to be in a rush and I guess that's why they didn't have time to care much for our feeling. read more

Having recently moved to the area, I thought I'd schedule an appointment at Aspen Dental since it is pretty much across the street from my work. I called to make an appointment and all of a sudden loads of red flags came up. First of all, call me old-fashioned, but I don't like making dental appointments with people in call centers. C'mon - can't somebody in the office deal with me? For one thing, I don't like providing personal information to people whose faces I'll never see. But also, it was all just so impersonal. But then I kept getting frustrated with the corporate-ness of this place. Wanting a cleaning, I called to set-up my first appointment, but I was told that my first appointment could only be consultative, X-Rays, etc. Why they cannot schedule me for that plus a cleaning during the same appointment is beyond me - I can only think that they want me to come in as much as possible so that they can get more money in their pockets. Beside that, their hours are crappy for working folks. Even though I don't go there still, the dental hygienist at the place I went growing up still asks about me when my parents go in. That to me is a dentist's office - a neighborhood place that cares about me. I would much rather have a friendly dentist stick his/her hands in my mouth than a corporate dentist who is rushed and could care less about me. I cancelled my first appointment, and will look elsewhere to get my teeth cleaned and cavities filled. read more

I went here because I thought it would be convenient - which it was. They had a lot of open times but after having been seen by them, I wish I would have stayed far, far away from them. Getting x-rays done was a nightmare that left my mouth sore for days! I was told I need $9000 worth of work - but my wisdom teeth were "not my biggest issue". Yeah, they were. I sought a second opinion and the cost was a fraction of the cost because I did not need to replace every filling with a crown. That is is just ridiculous. The dentist didn't look at me when we talked. She saw me for about 5 minutes. The hygienists were fine and the office manager was great but the fact remains I walked in without pain and left with pain that lasted for days and had to put off replacing a filling that really needed for another few weeks while I found a dentist that wasn't trying to rip me off. read more

y experience with aspen in walpole was a disaster. they are incompetent and do not have the expertise, suggest you go elsewhere for better care. they were pleasant enough, but the tech making impressions sucked. the pregnant woman dentist i had was ready to deliver . the teeth made were poor fitting. dr hagytei tried to adjust them to no avail and paul made nice looking teeth, but they did not fit right,. this place suck for talent and i want a total refund. i did get back half. i will probably have to file suit to get the refund. my advise if you want dentures. that fit right go elsewhere. i did finally gett a refund for my top denture, and they wanted the upper denture returned and i returned them on 6-25-18 , and got a receipt from mgr bethany nielxson. i just a letter from their home office asking for the teeth back so the incompetence. with these clowns continue. do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, ecsuse rhe walpole office at least can't do anything right. it seemed like the walpole office was full of foreigners, which barely spoke english. maybe they pay them less. in any event it was a lousy experience and i had new teeth made elsewhere in half the time and without the aggravation.. thetvwere very bad. read more

Love this place! My family and I have all visited this place with no problems.. I chipped my tooth and they had me in and fixed the same day. It looks perfect! They have filled cavities for my children and my husband. Never a problem. Great place!! read more

I called the 1-800 corporate number looking for an emergency visit. The Natick office near my house was booked but they said they could get me into Dedham in an hour. I drove down 27 to Rte 1 in agony and was thrilled to see Aspen dental right there! To my dismay I had found the Walpole office! The receptionist saw I was in extreme pain( and tears) and got me right in! (And called Dedham for me to cancel) The dental assistant was amazing, the dentist was the best. He stayed calm during my tears, and didn't act disgusted or condescending. The office manager helped me understand the payments needed and schedule the appointments in a timely manner. I don't have dental insurance right now, but even when I have had the best in the industry I was never treated so nicely. read more

This place has been great to me! Ive spent alot of time there this last week, root canal, deep cleaning, cleaning. Etc. Everything was explained before hand. Everyone is professional and friendly. Dr rawat is one of the best dentists ive ever had!! No pain or discomfort during or after procedures! He actually cares, tells you to call him if anything comes up after a procedure. No unnecessary treatments or toothbrushes rinse etc have been forced upon me or even talked about, like ive read at different location reviews. Guess i lucked out! I'll continue going to dr rawat and staff for the foreseeable future, no reason not to! Great dentist and staff! read more

This place is horrible. They seem all nice and friendly and accommodating when you first call, but it's only because they want to rope you in for your money. I called them because I had an old filling fall out and my regular dentist couldn't see me for two weeks, but I couldn't wait that long. Since my initial visit, I have been there OVER TEN TIMES. Turns out I needed a root canal, great. Fine. I understand this happens. Get root canal, go back to Aspen, he puts a "buildup" on my tooth. Then I need to go back again for a temporary crown. Okay, I get it. Then I go back for a "crown lengthening", which I assume is him putting some pin in my tooth to attach the crown to (like my dad said he has had done for his crowns). Nope, not the case. I get the temporary crown taken off, then he tells me he's going to SLICE INTO MY GUMS and I'll need STITCHES! Isn't this something you should explain? Anyway, I get the procedure done, get ANOTHER TEMPORARY crown. Go back a week later, stitches removed. Another week later, go back for what I think is going to be a permanent crown, because at this point I've had molds done about three times. NOPE. Remove the 10000th temporary crown, take MORE MOLDS, put ANOTHER TEMPORARY on, and tell me my permanent crown will be ready in a week or so. Soo, I finally go back, SO EXCITED to get my permanent crown and be done with the dentist, and it takes them 50 minutes to get the permanent crown on (the dentist even dropped it on the floor, had to let it soak, then came back to continue trying. YAY, its on! I go home, start eating SPAGHETTI, not al dente, but fully cooked, mushy pasta, and CRUNCHHHH the crown, that I've had on for all of 45 minutes, chips and crumbles in my mouth. I burst into tears. I scream, I cry, then I call the office back. At this point I am running late to my babysitting job (yeah, I'm 26 and still babysit for fun), and she asks if I can turn around and go back right then. Ummm No. I call on Monday to see i they can just make me a new crown with the old mold, and she says she'll call me back. A WEEK LATER-NO CALL. I just called, asked what's up, and they ask if I can come in right now. Um, again, NO i WORK, going to the dentist is not my job. I make an appointment, she calls back 5 minutes later and tells me the dentist won't be in that week, I need to reschedule. So now my appointment is two and a half weeks from now. And I'll have to go back TWO MORE TIMES. So this makes it about 15 appointments to get a crown put on. Plus, the lady in billing (very nice, but doesn't know what she;s doing) told me in insurance paid 30%, even though I knew they pay 50%, but I still had to pay the 70% difference, so they owe me money. In short-for those of you who didn't have time to ready my full rant- CONS -they're office hours are terrible for those who actually work a 9-5 job -they DO NOT explain what they are doing to you, nor how many appointments it will take to complete a dental procedure -they overcharge -they never return phone calls (I had to call back twice) -they do not know the dentists schedule in advance and will make you an appt. only to call you back and cancel it five minutes later -they do extra, unnecessary procedures (like cutting away my gums and stitching me up vs. putting in the less painful, CHEAPER, pins) -tell you to buy special $33 toothpaste because you have a small cavity that is too small to fill, but then next time tell you that he has to fill it anyway (no thanks, i'll take my chances and get a second opinion) PROS -next to nothing, except that they are friendly, but its fake friendly, because they just want to rope you in, make you come back 1000 times, and take all your money! -there are two women (one hygenist and one assistant) who are great (the small blonde hygenist is awesome, gives a great cleaning and is honest about your teeth, and there is a dental assistant who has reddish hair and a broader build, who is great and made me the best 12 temporary crowns a girl could ask for (better than the other 10 that the other, a little older, assistant made me. read more

I switched over to Aspen after being dissatisfied with the previous dental office I was going to, as I had some complications with one of my teeth and couldn't seem to figure out the best course of action. Dr. Matthews is wonderful! She got on the phone with me and explained everything prior to my visit. When I went for my pre-evaluation/exam yesterday, the woman who took my x-rays did a good job, despite how grueling it was to get a complete set (I have a small mouth), then the other woman who went through my mouth to determine levels of gum recession was also very good and professional. And then Dr. Matthews looked everything over--she is so professional and explains everything. So, so far, very happy with Aspen Dental in Walpole. read more
