Never. Ever. Again!!!! Asked when we made the appointment if they take my daughter's insurance; they said yes. Got to the appointment and turns out they don't. They claimed they called and texted to let us know, but we have zero texts and no missed calls from them. Then they take her back and she asks if I can accompany her; she's 18 but has severe anxiety about dentists. They said no problem, we'll come get you after her X-rays. I waited and waited and finally went to the desk to see if they could take me back, only to get ignored for 5 minutes. Finally someone goes back to see if they're ready for me, but they came back and said oh actually you can't go back until it's time to go over her treatment plan. So basically they do nothing but LIE and don't want to have anything to do with me until they're ready for me to pull out the credit card. I am not quite sure how I feel about this. I broke a tooth and booked an appointment for the next day online for 1030 Thursday. They called me at 10 o'clock and told me that they actually didn't have room in their schedule and they could see me on Saturday. I asked them why their system would allow me to make an appointment if they didn't really have time and then this was not a good way to treat someone who is new to the area and new to them. So then they tried to squeeze me in which was nice. Didn't work so when I did go in three days later, instead of fixing the broken tooth, they decided they wanted to do $15,000 worth of work in my mouth. The dentist I saw really loves crowns. I'm not sure that I need a whole new set of crowns. All I wanted was my tooth filled. On the other hand, he was correct about several things in my mouth so he doesn't know his stuff. I feel guilty because they did the whole work up for no charge but I don't feel confident about going back. A little background about me. If I could leave a zero star I would. I had an abscess tooth in this dentist. Tried to numb the abscess which created the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life. It hurts so bad I screamed and he didn't stop applying the medication and I finally moved my head and grabbed his arm out of reflex of the pain he cursed at me said he does this everyday and I'm overreacting well. A month later I must have nerves damage because my lip from the center line of my nose all the way back to my ear is numb and I still have quite the lump where he administered the shot. After leaving a review on Aspen dental's page, they said a team will contact me to resolve my problems. Guess what a month later. Still nobody has contacted me. My out of pocket was $120 to have three teeth removed. I have Union insurance. They didn't do the procedure and they did not return my money or whatever. Had a tooth extraction, fillings, and cleaning done. Then months later was charged an extra $600 as insurance apparently claimed (according to Aspen) that they wouldn't cover what had been agreed upon. Aspen was supposed to get back to me about it after I called wondering about the charges, but had to call back myself and was met by a very rude receptionist who virtually hung up on me after some confusion about how many visits I had. I wish I read the other reviews before going to this dental office. Their billing system sucks. They require payment up front even if you have insurance. Its's an estimate which is always more than your copay or what is allowed by your insurance. They tell you if there is an over payment, you can request a refund. I can tell you they do not make it easy to get a refund. In fact, they bill incorrectly to the insurance using wrong procedure codes. I called my insurance customer service and they graciously offered to speak to Aspen. Wrong billing resulted in the procedure not being covered saying I owe more money. The insurance rep said they will rebill correctly and issue me a refund. Still waiting.... It's too bad because they have an excellent dental hygienist who has helped me improve my dental routine with good results. read more

I was in the process of finding a new dentist after moving back. I reluctantly found Aspen. And they could get me in quickly...Strange! My initial appointments cost me a huge amount out of pocket even with insurance. They of course, then asked me if I'm interested in invisalign. With lots of coaxing, special incentives etc.. And hating my smile for a long time I agreed. I asked about my cross bite and a few other concerns. And was assured everything would be fixed during treatment. Not until the 2nd visit. Almost 12 weeks into treatment I realized that there is not even an orthodontist on site!! Excuse me? They said let me email the orthodontist your concerns I'm now 10 months into an initial "17 week" treatment plan. I've chipped a tooth from my teeth not being aligned properly (while I had my invisalign out eating) and constant jaw pain from not fixing any part of my bite. I'm so upset. Worst dental office ever. Spent a few thousand dollars here 9 months ago, didn't like their hard sales approach. Not there to help YOU, just a money making machine. Initially went there because i had a loose dental implant., but they hurriedly put 3 crowns in. Called my previous Dental surgeon in CO to get the brand of dental hardware used. Told me they were going to order a new part, waited a few months for a return call, Never happened. Then of course with the COVID 19, couldn't see a dentist until May. Since Aspen never called with my part, I got a recommendation for another dentist . Long story short, I have to have one of the crowns replaced. Called their office to get a refund on the one crown and their finance manager knew how to push the hot button, ending with a shouting match and I hung up. Their finance mgr said she would contact the district mgr, when I asked when I could expect to hear she said, no idea, you'll be put in a queue. I then said, how about if I protest in front of your business, she said I will call the police. I guess she doesn't realize it's not against the law to peacefully protest. My youngest son is going to start kindergarten after summer and apparently children 7 years and younger need a dental screening to be enrolled here in oregon so i set up an online appointment and was slightly confused with the confirmation email saying he was scheduled for xrays, my son is 4 mind you! I need to go to a dentist I called Aspen Dental. The first call is to a call center which sets up the appointment, all I need is a cleaning but was told since I was a new patient it would take two appointments to get done, the 1st time is to do an exam and xray, and the 2nd for the cleaning. This is unexceptionable to me. I would have to take time off of work twice for a dentist appointment. I told her that I would like to speak to the office about this and she said she would have them call me on Monday 1/20/2020 so far I have received no call. I have tried numerous dentists here in Grants Pass and now I am going to go to Medford to get a dentist. Wow, I had the exact experience that C.T. expressed on 1/31/19. My insurance company, Delta Dental, gave me a list of several dentist in Grants Pass that were PPO "in network" providers where I get two fully paid cleanings and one set of x-rays each year. I chose Aspen since they are new here and, since we travel in the winter, are national. I made the appointment after they assured me there would be no charges for a cleaning or x-rays with my insurance. I checked in with very nice people and led to an x-ray machine then an exam room. I was asked questions about my teeth and what I wanted done today. All normal. I expressed I just wanted a semi-annual cleaning and an estimate on for a small chip in a lower front tooth to be done at a later date. She then brought in a dentist who right off the bat began measuring pockets between my teeth. Of course this is normal but in my experience is done by the hygienist and a little later in the process. My numbers were very good but I did have three 4's which I told her I will pay closer attention to those with my water jet flosser every day. She said I should have a deep cleaning of those areas and a pre-gingivitis treatment. She said insurance normally covers that and do I want to do it. I said sure, if needed. She then said something about another additive that was $30 that insurance would not pay. Still, I said OK since that would be all the out of pocket cost I would have. Then they led me to the dreaded business office which was a small room with another gal and a computer. She began punching things in and informed me that the total bill would be $640 and my co-pay would be $297. I said something is wrong as I expected on $30. She said my insurance wouldn't pay all of the annual cleaning and only half of the deep cleaning. I reminded her that I am a PPO member with Delta Dental and should be covered full. She said she doesn't know anything about a PPO plan. So I figured I would just pay the difference for the annual cleaning and take up the difference with the insurance company, since they sent me there for full coverage. So I told her I would just do the regular annual cleaning and forget the deep clean and the $30 extra. She said they couldn't do that since I had been diagnosed as needing it. I would have to do all of it at this point. So I just left. It was horrible. I haven't felt that taken advantage of since a most horrible used car purchase. High pressure, confusion, dictating what you must do. Most people don't take the time or effort to write like this, so C.T. was about a year and a half ago. They're still up to it. My experience: Went to this place missing 2 fillings. They were concerned about cleaning, 2 days after that visit I had a really bad inflammation that I couldn't sleep in pain. Result: had to extract. Still having 1 missing filling, went back(Idk why) to Aspen to do this work and for my surprise, they try to do some other work not related or discussed. Went in for replacement dentures. Receptionist gave everyone in the lobby my full name, birthdate and full social security number when phoning to verify my insurance. Lady in the financial office doesn't know how to properly figure your part of the bill after the insurance payment. It took 6 appointments and now I have buck teeth and am not able to speak clearly. I visited the new Aspen Dental in Grants Pass. The office is clean and professional. After getting my X-rays done I was taken to the exam room. I was told by the hygienist that I had two deep pockets on a couple of molars that needed deep cleaning and that I would have to come in two times to complete the procedure she stated "besides that your teeth look good". I was then taken to the office managers desk where the hard sale begins. She gave a print out of what I needed on the list was an electric tooth brush at the cost of $138 (which I already have and bought at Costco for $69 for two) Teeth whitening at the cost of $300 even though the dentist stated I have nice white teeth. And, the deep cleaning at $600 for two pockets. I told the office manager that I did not want the deep cleaning at this time but that I would just do the normal cleaning. She stated that the hygienist would not do a "normal" cleaning unless I agreed to the deep cleaning. I left somewhat confused. I talked to a friend who went to the Medford office and they were told the same thing, deep pockets, tooth brush, etc but, my friend choose not to pay for deep cleaning and had a normal teeth cleaning done. I have spoken with others and all have been given the same exam and all needed deep cleaning and the same things that were listed on my sheet. Aspen lures you in with the thought that they are less costly than other dentist in the area, they give you a free X Ray and exam and then BAM the sell begins. If you have dental insurance then this might be ok, but I don't. In closing I feel a little ashamed that I was searching for a cheaper dental care office I did not. It was like going to a used car salesman intent on getting you in just to try and seek you the Cadillac you didn't want or need. I usually go to the Medford office who have been great. I had a tooth abscess and could not get into the Medford office so I called the Grants Pass office. They got me in right away and prescribed the normal antibiotic I have taken for any dental issue. This did not help so I called the Medford office and good not get in for 4 days. I called the Grants Pass office and, once again, I was able to be seen right away. Apparently I have developed a resistance to that antibiotic. Dr. Vu prescribed a different antibiotic and it worked. I was treated with compassion and professionalism by every member of the staff. read more
