I went for a consult for implants. They did x-rays and then took me straight to financing. They didn't even tell me what my x-ray showed.

Charges are VERY questionable. Charge to Credit Care BEFORE work started without asking you! Charges to insurance as complete before work started. This place feels very "shady". Charges for "extras" without letting you know. Not a good experience. read more

I needed dental care and my normal dentist wasn't open due to power outages from a recent storm. So I called around and was able to confirm an appointment with Aspen Dental in Taylors for a same day appointment. When I arrived, the office was closed. When I called the scheduling department they were unaware of the closure but they rescheduled me to a different office 2 days later. When I showed up for that appointment, that office was also closed. I called the scheduling Department back but they apparently have no idea when offices are closed so they'll just keep scheduling you for places that aren't actually open. Just a heads up so you don't waste a bunch of time like I did. read more

Made an appointment with them and told them I wanted to get a routine cleaning and talk with the dentist about my jaw hurting since I grind my teeth. They scheduled me and said no problem. Had 3 appointments and was never asked about my teeth grinding and got a filling that still hurts to this day (I've had fillings before and they've never felt like this before). They also gave me attitude for not coming in early for an appointment as the person before me cancelled and I couldn't leave work early. Would not recommend. read more

I just got angry and walked out on Aspen Dental. Hygienist told me they can't do a cleaning without an exam and they can't do an exam without an X-ray. She said the X-ray is required by law. Then she changed and said it is required by the ADA. Which is not the law. They did an X-ray last year. No need for another. My previous dentist never insisted on X-rays with every cleaning. If it was a policy of that practice and a recommendation for which they have sound reasons, I could take it in. But to falsely invoke authority without presenting any scientific argument is insulting and corrosive. Because an employee lied to me, I cannot trust anything from Aspen Dental. read more

First they gave my husband a false estimate and total. We paid everything we owed before the surgery to remove bone and teeth but the morning of surgery had to pay another 400 for a total of 4300.After everything was finished the bill was over 10,000 and they didnt get all the bone out or tell us it was a temporary plate .I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

The only good thing about this place was the young lady who checked me in. The lady that look me to a room was not friendly. I came here to see Dr. Poore, oral surgeon to pull a wisdom tooth. I chose this location because they take my insurance. Big big mistake. I was to see him in the Spartanburg location last week, however when I arrived there I was informed he no longer comes to that location. But they did an exam and made the appointment for the 7th. Dr Poore was the rudest doctor I have ever encountered. Huffed and laughed at my answers. When he asked what type of medicine I take to improve my bones, I explained I take infusions every 6 months to help avoid cancer spreading to my bones. He said well we can't pull the tooth if it has been less than 6 months since the infusion. Ok. Why didn't the doctor at the consultation in Spartanburg tell me that. Well I am just now seeing you and telling you, no the doctor at the consultation should have told me, she 'looked' at my information And should have read it. When I mentioned my dentist, Dr Beard, who I see regularly every 6 months, he asked who? I repeated and he huffed again. Again, he was rude and condicending And not professional at all. When I got up and ended the exam. I told him I wanted a refund. He said loudly ok, walked to the front and loudly announced she's leaving and wants a refund and laughed. My mistake was wanting to be able to use my insurance, now I will pay what ever I need to pay in order to be treated with respect. Quite frankly the WORST dentist I have ever been to. If you are someone who doesn't value your money then this place might be just for you. They are insistent on me coming in every 3 months. This is not a place for people who have dental insurance. After doing my research, I discovered that this is a for-profit investor owned chain. I was lured here because of their "convenient" schedule. They were able to see me at 5PM on weekday, which was perfect. On the day of my appointment, they did panorama x-rays, still x-rays and then asked me to wait for the dentist in a standard chair. After watching a video, the first upsell attempt occurred with some kind of dye they put on your teeth. Of course, I said "no". After one hour, the dentist showed up (6:30PM). It was not until this point that I realized that this is a two-step process. He was just looking at my x-rays and condition of my teeth to determine how deep of a cleaning I would need. I was not interested in multiple visits for a simple dental cleaning, especially because I get my teeth professionally cleaned every 6 months (like a normal person). Then, the second upsell attempt occurred. I was taken into a glass room with a "business manager" who tried to sell me all kinds of services, ranging up to $400. Then, he informed me that I could not have my cleaning scheduled for four more weeks because they were totally booked. This is a bait and switch rip-off company. I would not only avoid this location, I would avoid the entire Aspen Dental chain. I walked out. read more

I went for my initial visit last week. I was having some pain and wanted the tooth extracted. They took x-rays and did an assessment. The first visit was free, including the x-rays, which was nice. My tooth was abscessed so instead of moving forward with the extraction, they gave me so!string for the pain and antibiotics and sent me on my way. Before I left I scheduled my appointment and went ahead and paid for the procedure. Everyone was friendly and made me feel welcome despite my pain. Savannah Reymond, the dentist I saw, was excellent. I went back today for the extractions. I had my wisdom teeth out before but I was under for those and I was going to just have local anesthetic here. Given my trepidation due to a bad experience with a root canal a few years ago, I was nervous. They talked me through the procedure and calmed my nerves. It took about an hour and a half to get 2 teeth extracted and they were very considerate of my needs throughout. I'd definitely recommend them. I wasn't pitched anything I didn't need. I didn't have to sit in the waiting room for hours. I'd give them a call the next time I need something and plan to continue using them for my follow ups. Edit: Of note is that I don't have dental insurance. They charged me reasonably for the work done especially compared to a few other places I called or have used in the past. I do have Care Credit from when I had wisdom teeth extracted and they took that without issue. read more

If I could give less than a star I would. I had a filling come out last night, which went from uncomfortable to painful. Aspen dental comes up as the only "emergency" dentist on any google search-all phone numbers/answering services go to them. I called 4 times between 7pm and 7am this morning, the only people I could reach were the answering service. I didn't receive a call back until almost 10 am and then was told there was nothing they could do at my normal office (the Taylor's location) but I could try other offices. I had already been trying to reach other offices during the 12 hours I was waiting for a call back and had actually spoken to a person at the front desk of the Woodruff location who told me that they did in fact have a dentist in that office on Saturday, but they wouldn't be able to see me for my now very painful tooth bc they only saw new appointments and scheduled surgeries. I also received an email stating that while they are listed as an emergency dentist they didn't actually have anyone on call. I was already not a fan of Aspen prior to this-I had a temporary crown placed earlier this month on a different tooth and the guy who placed it made zero effort to make that a less painful experience. In fact, he was so rough with how he injected my mouth that I took ibuprofen for a week after that visit-my tooth itself was ok but my mouth was bruised. I will never recommend this business and will be going elsewhere. I understand the dentist is rarely anyones favorite place but this really is pushing it. Also-be aware-your first visit is literally just some x-rays and them looking at your mouth. No cleaning, nothing. You will have to schedule yet another visit to accomplish that. I realize that they offer "flexible" payment plans aka Care Credit but this place is not worth it. read more

Well, this is my first less then perfect review. I have been to this office a few times recently. The doctor is very nice, if a little over worked. Same for the assistants, were as they try and hide it a little more. Of course we all have our favorite people when we go somewhere, I enjoy a good bit of their employees. Most of them are happy to be there and enjoy their job. Then ya have the few bad apples. The kinda bad seeds that can really pull things down for a nice place. I hate to call people out and hurt their job. But when you work in a customer service type field as well as working with others, as an adult ya should be ashamed. ( I my self have been in customer service job field my whole life.) I can say for sure there are two people I would let go of right away if I was working there. When you are in the front office and I walk in, act like I'm not ruining your day, okay. That's easy. Maybe smile a bit. Don't whine loudly enough for everyone to think you may actually just be a child waiting on a parent. The other kicker is an older man. He was raised in a time that he should know how to talk to woman respectfully, not like your out and talking to your homies. I myself or would my son's talk that way in a business. Not to be rude, and bully these girls and pts. Walking around like he is doing the assistants and the DOCTOR a favor. As much as I have enjoyed my quality work and cleanings. I am so glad I don't need them dentures, so I don't have to make those girls or myself have to deal with that guy in his unprofessional attire and even a cigarette hanging out of his mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have even shown up for one appointment, and as ya pulling the parking lot ya see a guy with a medical mask on and a cigarette just chilling behind the building. He even just throw it on the ground when he was done. Yall know EVERYONE can see him from the road, right? I do not know what company would keep some of these kinda "workers". There are good quality people that would love a job. Please stop making people deal with the bad, to get the good and great that Aspen has to offer. read more

Stay far away from here!!!! It took me 6 weeks and a surgery to recover from what aspen dental did to me. I had a simple sensitivity to cold in one tooth. Well this businesses head dentist said this could be fixed by just a simple filling. When I arrived on the day of my filling I was handed over to a lesser dentist being told that my dentist was too busy to handle me today. Reluctantly I said ok. I should have never done that! The dentist that worked on my tooth really messed it up according to an oral surgeon I had to have the tooth removed after this dentist butchered me. First he drilled so far down he hit the roots and he also broke my tooth down by the root while trying to put the cap on for the filling. Two days after this filling I was in more pain than I have ever felt. My oral surgeon said the tooth could not be saved after what this guy did. They did refund my money but I suffered 6 weeks of terrible pain a surgery and the permanent loss of a tooth that just needed a filling. Stay far away!!!!!!!! read more

Place won't forward x-rays to any other dentist office they make you drive there and personally get them even if it's another office requesting them with a patient release form. I'd say it's time to enter year 2014 but I believe it's just a scam to keep patients there. I was on vacation visiting my mother and developed a toothache. I called one office and they couldn't see me there, but the receptionist put me on hold and called several other offices until she got me in. They took xrays, and gave me and antibiotic and something for pain. They also gave me copies of the xrays to take to my dentist when I got home. read more

A friend and I went to Aspen Dental because we saw an ad on TV for for x-rays. After getting our x-rays my friend was told he needed dentures and he was given a hard sell and he signed up for a "loan" through their office to cover the $6,000 worth of work he was told he would need. Right away they extracted 6 teeth in preparation for his new dentures. They also did a root scaling and planing which is standard practice for someone with periodontal gum disease. However, they used Arestin capsules in EVERY place in his gum where it would fit , supposedly to help kill the bacteria. I have since learned that most dentists only use Arestin capsules for an abscess in a specific location that will not respond to other treatments. It is typically NOT used in the entire mouth up front to treat generalized periodontal disease. Also, they charge a LOT of money for each capsule and therefore make a lot of money by applying the Arestin this way. While this is not harmful to the patient , it is costly and Aspen makes a lot of money. Finally, they have stalled and stalled about giving my friend his permanent dentures , even after the 6 month healing period is over and his gums have been healed. So he is out a lot money, missing 6 teeth, and has no permanent dentures.!!!! :( read more
