I went in for an exam, X-rays and a filling. This is how it went. Day one: Claimed swelling prevented X-rays and asked me to take these antibiotics and come in again in a few days. Day 2: They forgot my appointment. Then they wanted me to pay out of pocket for my previous visit that my insurance covers 100% and pay out of pocket for the current visit or they refuse to see me. They said my insurance paid a little bit for something and when I asked what they paid for it was a procedure I didn't even have done! Now Aspen Dental is committing insurance fraud, wonderful. Edit: Just got off the phone with my insurance, my insurance had paid the full amount including all of Aspen Dentals fraudulent charges days ago. The people at Aspen Dental were trying to double dip and get paid twice. On top of all of this the amount they wanted from me was much higher than what they charged the insurance. 100% scamming. Set up an appointment to visit with Dr. Parag Modi at the Aspen Troy Dental office first thing on a Monday morning for filling a 1mm small chipped tooth. When I arrived they asked me to pay a $400.00 consultation and full mouth x-ray fee + an undisclosed amount for the subsequent tooth work. I thought they were insane and left. Three DDS were just sitting around chatting and doing nothing! One of them reluctantly approached me, when I asked to speak to a DDS to plead my case, and he told me that was their policy and fee structure,, and they were trying to save me money! I would give zero starts if it was an option. My daughter went to her first appointment with a broken tooth. The dentist put in a temporary filling and scheduled a follow up. At the next appointment he did a root canal on the wrong tooth and when she questioned him about it he denied even putting the temporary filling in and was adamant that he had never touched the other tooth. To make matters worse they claimed that their system was down so we paid over $2,000 out of pocket and 3 weeks later they still have not filed a claim with our insurance so we can get any reimbursement. read more

Made an appointment on Monday due to my 92 year old mother having an infected tooth after visiting her doctor and getting a prescription for an antibiotic on Sunday. The doctor orders were to get her to dentist ASAP. I received a confirmation for the appointment for Wednesday from Aspen Dental. This was the quickest dentist I could get an appointment for. When we got to the office they said she did not have an appointment since they were overbooked. Asked since it was an mistake by Aspen Dental and since they made the appointment and confirmed what they are going to do about it. They said; they would not do anything it was our problem, they must have had a glitch in there system. They could make her an appointment for some time next week. The original appointment was made by calling their office and talking to a live person. I then said this is an emergency service and the sign on the window said they accept emergency patients. They told me the sign was false they do not accept emergency patients. This was the worst customer service and unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. With the false advertisement and lying, I am surprised they are in business. If Aspen Dental would told me the truth on Monday, I could have made an appointment with her normal dentist on Monday that was a week out, but messing with Aspen Dental and scheduling now having to schedule a new appointment today with her normal dentist has caused my 92 year old mother to live with tooth pain for 3 extra days Thank You Aspen for 3 days of unnecessary tooth pain for my mother. read more

Beware this place charges you even though your insurance covers the services... you will still get an outstanding bill because they don't know how to code correctly. Plus, when you call them out and hold them accountable for their lack of proper customer service they will not even give you a toothbrush and toothpaste. Make sure they don't charge you for something they didn't do? For example the dentist not checking your teeth after the hygienist did a 6 month check up and cleaning. When you refuse fluoride make sure they don't charge you for it. Follow up with your insurance. read more

I was extremely unhappy with the Huber Heights office. I had scheduled an appointment for my elderly mother that has Parkinson's and lives in a facility 45 minutes away. I received a text message to confirm the appointment. I confirmed. The day before the appointment I received a message at 2:51 saying I needed to call and verbally confirm the appointment by 4:00 that day. I called no less than 10 times and was continually put on hold until the call would drop. The last time they asked if I could hold and I said no and they put me right on hold. So, I show up with my mother the next day for her appointment and was told it was cancelled because we didn't call and give a verbal confirmation. By no fault of our own we wasted an hour and half traveling to an appointment that was cancelled. Needless to say, I had taken the afternoon off work to bring her! The receptionist could not have cared less and didn't even offer an apology. We are now taking her to ABC Dental in Huber Heights where they actually want our business and answer the phone. read more

This is the WORST customer service office I have seen. I was a new customer and made an appointment, which they set up for Monday August 15. I arrived to discover the Huber Heights office isn't even open on Monday. I called and they rescheduled me for Wednesday August 17 at 10am. I was 20 minutes early to complete paperwork. This is so bad....stay away. I called the troy off ice to check if my insurance was accepted and was told yes. I set up an apptmt for my hus band and one for me right after him. When the day came, we got there and they had an apptmt for my husband but not for me. Now it took the scheduler on the phone quite some time to find two apptmts together but she did. Horrible. I came in because I had a busted tooth, which instead of focusing on that they tried to make me spend over $1000 on cleanings. I understand if I have bad gums, etc.. but if I'm coming in for pain and a broken tooth... I want that to be the focus... but my dentist didn't even say anything about it. He was also sniffling and sneezing, he was definitely sick... trying to work in people's mouths when you can't control your own bodily fluids.. Will never come back. when I first went to aspen, I thought they were great. they got me financed and charged me even though my insurance paid them. I have a tooth that a crown fell of in May 2020, they refuse to fix it as they claim my insurance hasn't paid for a procedure I probably didn't need. I waited 35 minutes after my appointment time to get my xrays. The lady who did my xrays was very sweet and i didn't have any problems with her. When i called and made the appointment i told them it was for a check up and cleaning, after waiting another 30 minutes to finally see the dentist he said i have loads of problems with my teeth and that he'd like to see me back for a cleaning and to extract my wisdom teeth and a few other things i needed done. He did not clean my teeth. He took me out to the desk where the other reception lady told me it would cost near $4000 to have my teeth extracted and cleaned , even after my insurance. This place to me was a huge waste of my time, i regret going and it's not worth it there. You wait while people that walk in after you go before you and they are out for your money. Aspen Dental charged my sister for services she never received Initially she was going to undergo dental procedures and they offered her to apply for a loan to cover the cost with Comenity Bank. She never signed for the loan and never received any dental service as she decided to wait until later in the year. Three months later she received a bill for $1000 for services she never received. This place is a ripoff. It appears Aspen Dental received this money from Comenity Bank and never performed any procedure for my sister. They later turned this bill over to a collection agency. My sister is fighting this. She has hired a lawyer. read more

This was my first experience with Aspen Dental and it was atrocious. Dr. Scott was VERY rude to my husband and made him feel horrible about what he needed done. I understand that we had extensive work that needed done, but he treated my husband like a spectacle and heavily insinuated that we couldn't afford it. I have never felt so horribly judged in my entire life. Not to mention he was the most unprofessional dentist I had ever seen. He came in wearing a sweatshirt and then kept getting in the hygienists way. He couldn't help but add insult to injury with every word that came out of his mouth. He implied that my husband didn't take care of his teeth and that s the reason why they had so many issues. (Which by the way, isn't true. A combination of accidents and genetics are the cause). Sure, everyone could be better at flossing, but that definitely isn't the root cause of his problems. Dr. Scott just treated us like garbage. Half the reason we even came to Aspen was in the hopes of finding a comfortable environment. Boy were we surprised. Now we are getting thousands of dollars of work done elsewhere. (Their estimate and what Dr. Scott said he needed done were definitely ridiculous after talking to other professionals about the same procedures). It's fast food dental at an outrageous cost. I wish I would've read Yelp and Google reviews first because I guess we aren't the only people with these issues. I had an appointment set a few days after my husbands, but after witnessing the chaos that was Aspen Dental with him, I cancelled and won't be going back. I tried to keep a happy face in the appointment, but I was almost in tears leaving. We aren't delusional, we know he needed work done, but never in a million years did I think a group of "professionals" could be so insensitive. It would've been nice to not have 5 people in the room with us (and then multiple people peeking in CONSTANTLY. My husbands teeth are not that bad and we definitely ARE NOT some circus show to be stared at. He isn't a big fan of the dentist in the first place and this sure didn't help. There was maybe one nice hygienist and that was the girl in training. Hope she doesn't learn from Dr. Scott. Maybe my experience would've been better if it weren't for the incredibly insensitive and unprofessional Dr. Scott and his team. I will never set foot in an Aspen Dental again. My insurance at the time would only allow me to go to Aspen in Huber Heights if I wanted to use in network benefits. The young lady that answers the phone will give wrong information. The person who is responsible for explaining the billing was unable to effectively explain to me why I paid $2,000, if my insurance wasn't billed for a service. She would say "I don't know how to explain this." Then would get frustrated when I would ask her specific questions! The new dentist continued to put the yankauer in my throat and after the 5th time, I told him that I didn't like him putting it in my throat, I feel like I am going to choke, this dumb individual wanted to tell me that I didn't feel like I was being choked. I refuse to argue with dumb individuals. If I tell you to stop putting the yankauer in my throat, than stop. If I ask you to explain where my $2,000 went then I want you to paint me a clear picture of where every penny of my money went. What Aspen Dental will not do is give me a credit! I made them give me my money back. I've been a medical professional for over 20 years and this place is garbage, to include the dental work. The only thing this office did have going for them was the very attractive dentist that no longer works there. BEWARE - 100% refund ISN'T 100%, read fine print. 1) This facility could not make a fitting upper denture, 2) it took way more time to reach this conclusion than the time they promote on their phone message, and 3) their guarantee isn't what it seems at first glance. My mother, a 72 year old disabled lady, had to go here 5-6 times just to try to get an "upper" denture made so that she could eat properly. She had misplaced her old one. She did not order the expensive denture, but still paid almost $600 total just for one denture. They made her pay for both upper/lower molds. When she tried on her upper denture, she told them that it didn't fit. It was too big. They said "take it home and wear it for a few days," and let us know if it still doesn't fit. Bad logic, but okay. She took it home, and days later.....it still was TOO BIG. Go figure. She went back twice, I believe, for readjustments, and was told the last time that if it still didn't work then she would need to ask for a refund. She asked for a refund. Their 100% refund policy isn't 100%. Read the fine print. She is only receiving a $399 refund. So, in the middle of winter, and in the middle of Covid, my disabled mother had to make arrangements for rides to and from this dental facility (6 times), using her walker to get into and out of the facility, paying extra to people who transported her there (for gas), and now she is getting only a $399 refund. That is, if her refund ever arrives. It supposedly was mailed 2-22-21. Today's date is 3-12-21. My mother survives on a very tight budget, and has an extremely small monthly income. By the way, Medicare doesn't cover dentures at this facility. My mother has Medicare and supplemental BC/BS but she had to pay all money UP FRONT. This place is a complete joke. The whole experience from beginning to end has been completely awful. Rude inconsiderate staff. Walked out with 3 cuts in my mouth and for some strange reason after 37 years I have an extra bone in my mouth was the reason for the cuts. Also was told I needed my wisdom teeth removed. Those was removed 17 years ago. Reason for that mix up was that they looked at the X-ray upside down. One excuse after another for their Malpractice. Wanna spend half your day waiting for your appointment and then find out that they make separate appointments for "consultations" (even as an established patient with recent x-rays that show the issue needing to be fixed) and the actual treatment? Then this place is for you! They bill your insurance $69 for the "consultation" which includes 2 hours of waiting and 10 seconds of the dentist looking at your tooth and then telling you to schedule an appointment. Wait...isn't that why I came in??? Trust me, find a different dentist. Aspen Dental sucks. We've had nothing but problems with them. From over-billing insurance, long waits, unfriendly staff. They try to sneak things onto your bill without asking and if you have prepaid and then didn't get the services because you're fed up with them just try getting a refund. It's a nightmare. And I'm STILL waiting for my money. I've already found a different (and MUCH better) dentist, had the tooth filled, and have gotten a thank you letter in the mail. But still no refund from Aspen. Just got one of my molars extracted earlier today. The manager, Lou, was a pleasure to work with and she walked me through all the paperwork to begin as a new patient. Dr. Rahim was great with explaining things to me without sounding condescending. His work was efficient and effective, as the whole process took only 45 minutes(walk in - walk out). The assistant Janie was very sweet and nice. She did a good job with her duties and she, too, was great with explaining anything I didn't understand and explaining my post-op procedures. read more
