They referred to to another location and now I'm told it's going to be an ADDITIONAL $6000 for my implant. $9000 if I want to be sedated and have a specialist do it. I've been going to this dental office for the past three years, but I'm very disappointed with how they handle patients. It feels like they're constantly trying to sell additional services such as extra cleanings, root canals, and crowns--even when I didn't ask for them. It reminds me of taking your car to a dealership and being told you need repairs you never requested. On several occasions, they dropped the ball during my visits and even forgot what I was there for. The office seems disorganized, and while they apologize often, the same issues keep happening. Because of this, I can no longer recommend this office. It's time for me to move on and find a new dentist. read more

Had to book a last-minute dentist appointment and I was seen same day! I walked in and quickly received an inviting greeting. Facility was clean and updated. I was pretty nervous going in due to it being a few years since my last dentist appointment, but I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The X-ray tech was fast and efficient. The dental hygienist, Eli, was excellent. I had many questions, and he answered them all. My dentist, Dr. Mohammad was great as well! Super down to earth, answered my questions, EXTREMELY APPROACHABLE, and created a great game plan for all my issues. Was able to get me seen for my follow up in 1 day as well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the payment process was interesting. I didn't read the signage about paying for the services before the bill going to insurance. I didn't know to look for it, so I'd recommend the receptionist make sure they point out that important piece before you have your appointment, so future clients are prepared, financially. All and all, I was really happy with the experience. I got alot of work done in 2 days and my teeth feel fantastic! Thanks Dr. Mohammad, Eli, and staff for a great experience! Submitted claims without a practicing dental license number, resubmitted with a license of a dentist I never saw and who is out of network, lack of call backs, threats, harassment, extortion for bills I do not owe, no chain of command to escalate to - BEWARE. 15 months AFTER services, I am getting turned over to collections because they filed claims to my insurance WITHOUT a practicing dentist license number on the claims and then used a dentist license for a random dentist that I NEVER saw that happens to be out of network. I have spent HOURS of my own time on the phone with their billing department and my insurance company, the local office and the so called, district manager, Lindsey. Lack of return phone calls is infuriating and customer service claims to keep escalating the situation. They even promised to put a pause on my account to prevent it from going to collections and cease the harassing phone calls and texts from Aspen Dental, yet I continue to receive threats via phone, text and mail. This is a shady practice - demanding an extra $1800 from me after I have already paid my portion in full and have explained to them numerous times how to to correct the situation with my insurance company. By the way, they also refuse to call my insurance company back as well. But guess what, when they wanted to get me as a new patient, they sure hustled and contacted my insurance company within 10 minutes to get me approved. What a scam. Once they get you in the door and get your co-insurance, they don't care how the rest of it shakes out. They won't lift a finger to solve the issue. They also cancelled appointments on me, last minute. I have given them 15 months to resolve this situation before taking to bad reviews because the office staff was decent to me. Please be very, very aware of how this practice will try to destroy your credit and extort money out of you. read more

I wish I would have checked their ratings instead of just going to them because they were covered by my dental insurance. They were very quick to assess my problem and schedule appointments and get me approved for a Care credit card so they could get paid right away. When I continued to have problems and continued to go back to them every month with the same problem, they just keep making excuses and dismissing my issues even though I have done everything they have asked me to do. They told me to live with the pain a while to see if the pain gets any better. On my last visit Dr Mohammed said there is nothing wrong and I should see a neurologist. They have given me no satisfaction even though I have paid them $4600.00. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

Everything went AMAZING!! From start to finish. When I first came in I was in a lot I mean like A LOT of pain, i had a broken tooth that had to be taken care of immediately so I thought, once the x rays where done I was told that there was another broken tooth and that it had been infected pretty bad and had to be taken care of as well. I didn't have the money right there and then but the people in the office were professional and so nice, they gave me a deal sent me home with prescription for the pain and infection (DID NOT FEEL A THING) for a week, A week later came back and had a deep cleaning done and 2 extractions and let me tell you THEY ARE SO GENTLE AND NICE literally made me feel very comfortable and pretty confident about going to the dentist more often, they even played music for my comfort I never liked going but I got to give it to ASPEN DENTAL would recommend coming here 20/10. :))) read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. In June, I went in for a deep cleaning (2 appts) and after my first appt, they cancelled my appt at check in due to a call in (annoying but I understand). I show up to my next appt, at check in they say I owe a balance and won't be seen until it is paid. I inquired about the charge because I had already paid in full. Turns out they mistakenly billed me under a different provider who is out of my network. They say they will fix it, I get my insurance involved, they still haven't fixed it. Now we are at October, they STILL haven't fixed the claim. My insurance has filed a financial complaint against the office. I have yet to be seen for my second follow up appointment that I have already paid for. I call and no one picks up. My next steps are going to be to report this office to the state. Made an appointment for a simple cleaning. Aspen called me the day before telling me they were going to take X-rays, consult with the doctor and see what services I needed. Because I had recently had x-rays and been to a dentist for an implant, I said, "I don't need that." The Aspen representative immediately hung up on me w/o another word. In addition on my treatment I was over bill per my dental ins 85$ so this should be a wash. If not I would like to be reimbursed my out of pocket over charge. I was sucked in by the newness of the office and the "one-stop shop" concept. My first appointment was in September 2022. After X-rays and a thorough cleaning, I was told by Dr. Patel that I needed root canal and a tooth extracted on my lower right. Mind you, I had one molar on my right lower side and I knew I needed implants, but I was buying time because it was so expensive and my previous dentist said the one tooth was still good. I was still able to chew food on that one side. Dr. Patel informed me that the tooth was NOT good and that it needed to come out and I really needed implants. OK fine, I'll do it. Two cleanings, one tooth extraction, two root canals (by a traveling endodontist named Dr. Bui, who was actually really good), three crowns, and ten months later, I am STILL waiting for the implants. Why have I waited so long? Apparently the computer systems went down, the dentist, Dr. M, who was going to do the implants decided to buy another location in Woodstock, IL and only had limited hours at this location, meanwhile I have called the office numerous times and even went in personally to see about getting in to fill in the gap of my lower right mouth as my upper right teeth are falling into a cavern of despair. I kept getting, "Chrissy will talk to Dr. M and call you back." I was even told this right to my face in person. I NEVER HEARD FROM CHRISSY. EVER. The customer service is crap. When I left a VM message of desperation, I finally got a text and email alert saying it's time for me to make an appointment. No, not a phone call from one human to another, a text and email alert. I called immediately more out of anger than anything and Kim told me that Dr. M wants another scan and could I possibly come in at the end of August. Another scan???? End of August??? I was so angry I cried hysterically on the phone. I should have had a full set of teeth by now!!!! I started a new job, I couldn't afford to take more time off from work as I was already going out of town at the end of August, plus, why should I have to pay for another scan when it was already done months ago and this delay is all because of THEM???? Oh wait, I won't have to pay for the scan, per Dr. M. Anyway, I am never ever ever EVER going back to Aspen Dental again, especially the one in Lockport. read more

Please do yourself a favor and keep on looking for a dentist. Do not waste your time and money here. They do not care. Aspen dental will treat you like a number, just herding cattle on through to the butcher. They will deny your requests, treat you like crap, cancel appointments on you...20 minutes BEFORE YOURE SCHEDULED appointment or move your appointments and then laugh in your face when you have a concern on how you've been treated. The front desk will stop at nothing to try and double charge for services you've received and/or do not need if you are not paying attention. They continuously get appointments mixed up and I have had 3 different appointments canceled the DAY of my appointment. I have also had to have 2 fillings redone within a year due to poor work. First I should mention that I have never written a review on yelp but I did so because the review I posted on aspen dental website will never see the light of day. I would have given zero stars but that was not an option, I visited aspen dental in Lockport,Illinois mid February 2020 and was told all my teeth had to come out. My teeth were in pretty bad shape so this did not surprise me, after all my teeth were pulled they put in immediate temporary dentures but they were painful to wear so I had to go back many many times for adjustments. Unfortunately they could never get them fit properly without creating sores on my gums. The same thing happened with the new dentures and after numerous adjustments they simply gave up saying they were not capable of making dentures that are not painful to wear, astounded by this remark by dr shah i called corporate office and they told me I should just take the partial refund and go find a new dentist which I did. The staff at Lockport facility are very young and inexperienced and I should have known better than to choose a chain dental facility, kind of like expecting a good steak at a chain restaurant. This is the most unprofessional establishment I have EVER stepped into! Made an appointment for a cleaning. Came in they didn't do it. Just took x rays. Came back a second time for step one in a two part cleaning. Took forever and ended up starting a crown that I probably didn't need. They leave me sitting in the room to see other patients when I have an appointment and I'm in a chair with half a tooth missing. When I made an appointment they canceled it the morning before cause I didn't confirm. I had an appointment! They're obnoxious with calling and texting you about appointments. New crown didn't fit on the 3 rd visit. Left me sitting in a room again with half a tooth missing. Girl at the front desk rolls her eyes when I come in and can't get off her phone long enough to do her job. These people have no idea what they're doing. After they finish my cleaning I'm never coming back. Never! I was sore for 2 weeks with the shots. Didn't bother to tell me half of my procedure wasn't going be done as scheduled until I got here. Couple of the younger girls are very never but this place should close. This is horrible business. read more

I went in today for my first cleaning and was appalled by how the hygienist treated me. I am not one to write post about a place for bad service. But, let me tell you a "horrible experience". Is an understatement. I just got my braces off today so I was pumped. Finally no more braces.! I came in just wanting a cleaning nothing crazy. The hygienist wasn't friendly whatsoever her name is Susie I believe. Anyways, she asked me why I didn't get a cleaning at my orthodontist? That's a silly question orthodontist don't clean teeth. She was very hostile and I didn't appreciate it. She felt super negative it was literally my first time here. Way to treat a new patient that way. After all that I was told I may not even get a cleaning they will see if they have room in their schedule. That would have been nice to know before coming? The manager and I spoke she was nice and I appreciated her. But, when she presented the treatment plan she tried telling me the service was $700. I have insurance as well and I know how it works. I just want to say to anyone looking for a dentist, literally go anywhere else, do NOT go to aspen dental! Their main goal is to get the most money out of you before you walk out the door. I went in for the $19 dollar check up, which gets you X-rays and an exam. We took the X-rays and that girl was very nice, but once I got into the chair, the entire approach changed. She brought the dental hygienist in who was obviously trying to be intimidating trying to make me think there is a problem. She checked my gums and said I have gingivitis. So this is a red flag because I've always taken care of my teeth. So the dental hygienist goes on to sell me this plan with a gingivitis cleaning, all these products and an oral b tooth brush. I obviously didn't commit to anything, but she still tried to put me on the plan regardless. The dentist came in and checked my teeth for cavities. He found some, never said how many or where they were. Then he mentioned fillings and I told I'm not getting that done here, I'm going to a different dentist. So he basically exposed himself and said "well they might not agree with what we put down here for you".. so the gingivitis cleaning and kit?? After this terrible unprofessional experience, the office manager comes in with an attitude. She asks "so you do have a general dentist" with a condescending tone. She brings me into her office and tells me the plan is going to be $700 dollars, but she'll give me a discount which brought me down to $500. She tells me "90% of America has gingivitis" so I'm assuming this is what she tells everyone who comes in so she can get $700 out of them. Of course this is still outrageous because I was 99% sure I didn't have gum disease.I told her no and she still told me to give her a call. I'm mad that I even spent the $19 there. I went to my general dentist and it turns out I DO NOT have gingivitis. Glad I trusted my gut. Who ever runs this facility needs to get a new office manager. read more

I found this dental office online. I called in and I was told that the company is currently running a special now where the exams are free. I made the appointment and went to it. After arriving I was told that the exam, in fact, is not free that it is $19.00 I explained to them that I had spoken to a representative and she said that it was free. The receptionist apologized and said that they have been hearing that from other customers and that they would look into it. I was charged the $19.00 After the exam I was told that I need a 2 part cleaning that had to be done 10 days apart. I was also given a price for filings. I was given the total for the cleaning and I asked does the total cover both cleanings. I was told yes. Since I haven't been to a dentist In so long I agreed to the one-time fee. I returned for my second cleaning and right away I'm told that I owe a balance. I asked for what? The same person that I made the payment within the first visit looked at me and realized that she told me that the fee covered both cleanings. She asked me to hold on a minute then went behind the counter. She came back about three minutes later and said I don't remember telling you that I do remember you paying. I'm looking at the receipt I know that I paid and now she is flustered and just repeating the same thing. My issue is this. Not only did you not stand by your word you didn't even try to fix the issues. The look on her face when she realized who I was. I sat and talked to this lady about the cleanings and fillings for over twenty minutes. Don't tell people one thing just to get them to come back and then flip the entire situation around and try to get over on people. That's not cool. read more
