Every time I now have work done at this facility, everything is argumentative and they don't take into account any input. It simply feels like they're trying to sell services. I went in today for a cleaning and an issue with a tooth where a crown hadn't been properly put on, and I've had sensitivity in that tooth for a couple of years. Each time ai expressed this to them, I was told it would get better. Today they recommended putting dental filling on the gap where the root is exposed and then trying to charge me $25 for numbing cream rather than fix the issue. It's unfortunate, but I will not be returning. I understand mistakes happen, but to offer to put a band aid on a prior error and then ask me to pay for cream to dull the pain is a rather poor customer experience. read more

I regret to write this review but wanted to warn future patients about this practice due to the manager at this practice. My family has been extremely happy with Dr. Romanelli and it was a pleasure to have been working with her staff for a few years now. We also referred several other families in the community from the past few years. But the incident that took place today left us dumbfounded and so disgusted with the managers attitude that we will never be returning to this practice. I got a call from manager who has apparently been working for 9 years at this location asking to confirm an appointment. It was not my appointment and I had to ask her to check if its regarding my wife's instead. She said yes, the appointment is for my wife. As we have family visiting, I wanted to reschedule on behalf of my wife and I was told there would be a fee. I told the manager that we have been loyal patients of this practice and waiving the fee would be appreciated. The manager rudely told me that there will be fees. I told her that I understand there is change in management and the new management might be imposing these fees and wanted her to see if she can do something about it. The manager even more rudely said that she has been working there for 9 years and said we signed some document not sure how many years ago saying we will pay the rescheduling fee as its not within 48 hours. She went on about more things in patronizing and condescending tone. At that point I realized that I was talking to someone that doesn't have any basic customer or patient management skills and told her we will be terminating this relationship. At that point I was told I am not the patient so I cannot reschedule/cancel the appointment and my wife is supposed to call them back. I was flabbergasted at couple of things: 1. Why she was talking to me for 5 minutes and arguing with a condescending tone about my wife's appointment, if I do not have the authority to cancel or change my wife's appointment 2. How a highly rated practice has had an employee of this caliber survive 9 years and become a manager ! Someone who is reading this review with more HIPAA knowledge might want to check if this is a violation as my wife never consented for me to be making/confirming/cancelling her appointments to begin with. Just wanted to reiterate that the doctors and dental hygienists are top quality at this location even after management change. But the manager is the reason why we will never be returning to this practice. A high quality practice needs high quality employees and the level was service today was abysmal and deplorable. The new owners are more than welcome to reach me directly to discuss further. I am sure the manager knows exactly who I am after what happened today. read more

I've recently started coming here after moving around a lot for the past 6+ years, so I've been to maybe fair share of dentist offices. Maple park holds up nicely to other practices I've been too snd the hygienists do a really awesome job. I have a permanent lower retainer, which is super hard to clean and they always do a great job taking care of it. read more

I received a nightguard in May of 2021. Within months it started developing multiple hairline cracks, not something you want in your mouth at night should sharp plastic pieces come off while asleep. I notified Dr. Romanelli's team prior to my regularly scheduled cleaning about the issue and was told to bring it in for my appointment. I had to delay my November appointment a couple of weeks due to a cold and not wanting to potentially expose anyone to anything (shame on me for doing the right thing, apparently) and took it to my delayed cleaning in December. I was assured it would be covered by the manufacturer, Glidewell, and it was shipped off to them and a new one made. I returned to pick up my nightguard and was charged for the new nightguard, without a return of the old one. In effect, I have paid twice for one nightguard and Dr. Romanelli's team has not helped in getting me 1) reimbursed for the original nightguard or 2) returned my stolen nightguard from Glidewell. My biggest frustration is the lack of responsiveness from the team: details of the calls are below: I left a voicemail on 1.27 - no response. I called again on 1.31 - spoke with Erin who said she will call Glidewell and will give me a call back - no response. I called again on 2.9 - spoke with Lauren, who said she needs to speak with Tracey (office manager) and will call me back on the 10th, yet again - no response. I called twice and left voicemail on 2.15 - no response. Approaching three full weeks with no resolution. Why do you work with such a company as Glidewell? Why are you charging me twice for one nightguard? I suspect that they are now avoiding me given the repeated radio silence. I hope this gets their attention. read more

Very nice office and was initially pleased with Dr. Romanelli and her staff. However, as time went by I invested a good amount of time trying to get my dental insurance through and when I found that even though I had the highest level of Met Life Insurance, the coverage compared to practice's pricing was lacking. I didn't appreciate the office manager offering a finance plan as it is none of her business how I pay and then I decided to visit another dental office only to find out that 90% of what her treatment plan was for was unnecessary. When its too good to be true, it usually is. I've had my records sent to my new dentist. read more

Terrible experience here. If you have good insurance you are fine. I paid out of pocket and compared their quotes to two other places...they were 3x the price of other places. Appointments for Oral Surgery are hard to get due to the doctor only in once a week. They were really nice until I switched dentist (due to cost and availability) then they were awful. read more

Dr. Nucs is great. He takes the time to talk through what he is doing and explain what he finds on the x-rays. Before sealing my kids' molars, he showed them that the syringe was "just a squirty thing, not a sharp thing" because it looks a bit like a bent needle. Ellie and all the hygenists are very good. Dr. Nucum is a wonderful dentist and Dr. Romanelli did well but is not the most professional dentist I've ever had. Last time I came in for my appointment she made me uncomfortable with making stereotype comments while I was having my teeth done. however, they have terrible receptionist. The front desk receptionist have been incredibly rude and lacking credibility. They have consistently called me the incorrect name each time I have come into your office. When I have corrected them, they were incredibly rude with eye rolls and side comments. It did not make me feel welcomed or comfortable. I understand once of a mix up but consistently calling me the wrong name and giving the same rude looks when corrected is unacceptable. Today, I came for my appointment which I made when I was in the office two weeks or so prior. My husband who just came in recently confirmed my appointment as well. When I came in today, my appointment was given away to another patient. I was not called or contacted at all. When I was in your office today, the receptionist told me I could wait an hour to be seen since my appointment was given away. I told them no. Then I told them my husband said I had a payment of $47. I told them I wanted to pay. They put my balance onto my husband's account. I told them my husband's insurance is different then my insurance. We are not on the same insurance. I told them I would like to pay this amount due to the fact my husband and I are different insurances. After, the receptionist gave me a Crest whiting kit and I told her I didn't want it. Then she threw a pen at me to sign my bill because I informed her that this was not the first time the receptionist have treated me and my husband this way. This would have been insurance fraud and I don't believe any person should be treated this way in a business. This is a poor way to treat your patients. I've never been so disrespected at a dental office that should be professionals. read more

I have been going to Maple Park Dental for years, since they were at their previous office. I have never had a warm feeling about Dr. Romanelli, but she does hire some of the best hygienists ever and her new office space is almost spa-like in its beauty and has very modern technologies. However, some of their office practices have finally driven me to find a new dentist. Most notably, my son, now 12, has received services on 2 separate occasions that I never authorized, nor was I notified that they were going to perform (to be fair, they may have been listed on his previous month's treatment recommendations which I admit I did not read, but were never discussed with me). After complaining, one was immediately taken off of our bill and the latter was very begrudgingly taken off after several months. Dr. Romanelli then stated they would make a note in his file that all treatments needed to be authorized before proceeding - since when is that not stand practice for treating children? Even more troubling - I received a bill for a standard cleaning for myself. I waited for the insurance to clear and when I received the revised bill, it contained a charge not covered by insurance and that I am 95% sure was not on the original bill. When I asked, I was told it was a new oral cancer screening that they were starting to do on all their patients and that they were trying to submit first through the insurance companies but was supposed to be taken off the bill if it was not covered. Not only was this a service I had not authorized, but at my next appointment, Dr. Romanelli told me she would perform this service for me for free and I quickly realized that the service had not even been performed the first time they billed for it.
