This was my first time going to Aspen Dental even though I've heard about them in the past but insurance and financial reasons stopped me. My experience threw me for a loop because in the past I've had bad experiences with other dentists. I walked into the office and was greeted by last name and informed that I would be helped in a few. The receptionist Kristina (I think I spelled it right) was so nice and walked me through everything. Once in back I immediately had X-rays done and was treated nicely by all the staff from start to finish. I recently had an infection in my top right wisdom tooth which I was already on antibiotics for and was on the last day when I went to my visit. I'm always honest when it comes to my health and any issues or concerns I may have. After going over everything I was informed that I have gum disease that's causing me infection and irritation in my teeth and it's causing the bone that structurally holds my teeth it slowly deteriorating which no other dentist has ever told me. Yes it did put me on edge but I'm glad that I now finally have some answers. Anything that I didn't understand was explained to me in a way that I could better understand which was extremely appreciative. My experience from start to finish was definitely different than anything I've experienced in the past and they were more informative even when it came to what I need done, prices with my insurance and if I could get any type of discount. I was also informed that a lot of the services that they offer are done right in the office which is definitely a bonus for me because everyone else that I've gone to I've had to travel for different reasons. What a way to start of my Friday morning then with a fresh clean smile. This place is fairy new (4 months) now. I drive pass this place on my way home almost everyday. Checked online to see if it was up and running, for we have a lot of construction going on out here. To my surprise it was and set up an appointment online. Also not to mentioned 5 mins. from home. Everyone and I mean everyone is well mannered. Your greeted and taken care of right away. The Dentist and nurses are amazing, they explain everything down to the last detail. To me that is a rare form for every other dentist are more concern with what insurance company you have and not worried about you I can honestly say I left knowing I found a new dentist and future family that I'm trusting my teeth with. So don't get confuse with the construction going on and come in and check this establishment out. Trust me you won't be disappointed. we have 2 insurances that will pay some/most of the cost of dental work, and once they have both been billed we pay the remaining balance. Jarron called to discuss the cost of care he stated that it was an estimate of $1763.00 for a root canal and it could easily be paid with A CARE CREDIT acct. I told him not interested in that, but once both insurance carriers had been billed we would pay the remaining balance. I never signed anything in the office or was given an electronic pad to apply for Care credit. jarron asked me for my SS# I told him I wasn't comfortable telling him, but would write it down. Someone in the office took it upon themselves to apply for CareCredit for me and proceeded to put $1763.00 on the account I knew nothing about. I only found out once I got a bill in the mail from a credit card. I did not apply for and a bill that I did not know I had. Once I called Jarron and ask him who applied for the CareCredit for me. He said that he had done counseling with me and I verbally accepted. I told him that was not acceptable and that never happened. Then he thought it was the day there was a glitch in the system. Nonetheless, someone committed fraud in the office by applying for a credit card in my name and overcharging it. Jaron could not have been more disrespectful and denied any wrongdoing by him or anyone in the office. I asked him to send me the signed application because I had not signed anything. He said it had been done electronically and he could not produce anything to prove I had signed up for CareCredit. Aaron called back and stated he had backed out all the charges, but I had to call CareCredit and cancel it myself. Once he backed out the charges, the balance miraculously lowered to $1333. Still have not bill the insurance. These are still estimates. They refuse to build the insurance first unless we pay the estimated cost immediately. We continue to get overcharging. I had called in to scheduled an appointment here. The day before I received a confirmation phone call for my appointment at 7:30 am. I was very clear over the phone that I needed a Wisdom Teeth Consultation during both the scheduling and confirmation call. When I had arrived, I was anticipating seeing the oral surgeon for my wisdom teeth. However, this was not the case. Upon completion of the required paperwork, the receptionists informed me that the oral surgeon was not even in the office today. I had been scheduled for a routine cleaning and check up. This was not why I came here. Thankfully, I was not charged. However, this place did waste my time. In the future, I recommend REALLY confirming your intention for the appointment. I fail to understand how and where the miscommunication occurred since I clearly stated my intention on multiple occasions and that I already had a referral from a general dentist regarding my wisdom teeth. read more

It's sad that I have to take my own time to write such a thing but it is really frustrating when you go into a cleaning and they tell you that you're not on the schedule... The office manager had booked my appointment on the wrong day and when they asked the hygienist if he had room to see me... with attitude he said sure and to just head back to do a QUICK CLEANING... What really upset me was that not only did they book my appointment on the wrong day but the hygienist proceeded to state that he would do my cleaning quickly and get my out the door. Before today I would've recommended this office to people but now I change my rating to poor and very unprofessional. I am a handicapped retired US Army Veteran I had a scheduled appointment Tuesday 16 August 2022. Once I arrived at my appointment I told the receptionist that I also had a concern about tooth bonding which has broken off since the dentist applied it approximately eight months ago. The manager came over to assist me with a dentist appointment she told me that I could come back that day for an appointment with the dentist at 4 pm. The service was horrible at the Lutz office. I was scheduled for a maintenance cleaning. The hygienists that Normally clean my teeth weren't there so they had a temp to fill in. I noticed right away that the hygienist was hurting my gums which other hygienists never have done before. The hygienist told me if I feel any discomfort to let her know. I tried to bare with the pain as she continued with no comfort from her cleaning method the pain she was causing was now overwhelming. she asked me to reschedule with someone else. The hygienist became upset once I told her that I would like to schedule my appointment with another hygienist. She said she was upset because she couldn't do her job. I told her I would allow her to clean my teeth if she was more attentive to my concern. I spoke with the office manager and they scheduled me with another hygienist with an appointment being 15 days later. The office manager told me to return later that day at 4 pm to the dentist. I arrived at 3:50 PM and I was taken to a room to have X-rays. I explained to the hygienists that I didn't need Xray I just needed the dentist to fix my broken bonding. She told me that the dentist needs to see an X-ray before seeing me. I asked her if was there a cost and she told me it cost $61 for the X-ray. I told her that I was not told anything about taking an X-ray and I already paid the manager that schedule me earlier today. The hygienist told me she would be right back the office manager came into the room and she said that she thought she told me about the Xray but she said she would not charge me. after the X-ray, I was told to go to an examination room where I sat there for over an hour and a half without anyone checking on me. I have Crohn's disease so I couldn't bare to waste any longer. As I drove away I called that same office which was recorded by my auto dash cam. The office receptionist told me that she didn't think I should come back to that office and I should seek dental care elsewhere. These people are so very unprofessional. I called Aspen dental customer complaint customer service. The receptionist took my information and told me that the area manager that is over at the Lutz Aspen dental location will be calling me later that day. I have not received a call from anyone about my concern. I filled a complaint with the Florida Department of Health and the Tampa better business bureau. Please find somewhere to go because these people will treat you probably worst than they treated me. read more

Beware if you get any work besides a cleaning. They extracted a tooth and did a deep cleaning and said with insurance it would be $435 which they collected. They also said it would come the temporary single tooth denture. They were also paid 500 from insurance and are billing me for 1000. They are billing some work never done. To all of you that are talking about insurance... MAYBE you're being charged because your insurance only covers a percentage of each procedure/deductible/ .. or maybe your insurance just sucks. It is your responsibility to check your insurance.. it's YOUR insurance. It is no fault to aspen dental. Because if my insurance I only paid $350 out of $3250, insurance covered the rest Also, I had a GREAT experience and I hated going to the dentist. Dr. Patel IS AMAZING!! And makes sure you don't feel a thing. I have extremely sensitive teeth and had to get some fillings a tooth pulled and a few other things. She did AWESOME. I just moved here from out of state and chose this dentist to be my primary. I dont get insurance through my job so all my procedures are paid out of pocket through a discount program I have. In 2019 I have spent well over in $1700 in procedures. I asked the front office manager for pricing for a wisdom tooth removal and was told $323 plus another $200+ to be put to sleep for one tooth because the oral surgeon has to come in to do it. I was told my discount program doesnt cover any portion of it. I came home and called and was told i only come out of pocket $120 with the program. I went in again for my follow up cleaning. I was quoted $47 for the visit and walked in to be charged $168. I asked why and was told from their office manager who is completely unprofessional that its a process and she would discuss after the visit but I ahd to pay before which I did. After the visit I pulled up the email from them with the quote for $47 and she said well they left a few things out. I understand but I told her I have to budget for my visits and its not my fault they did. You cant quote someone $47 and then they come in and you want to charge almost 3 times the amount. She didnt seem to care at all or even apologize. Its a shame because I love the hygenist and the dentist but their front office manager is a joke. She is completely inconsiderate of people's situations. Other then getting pricing wrong be ready to wait almost an hour in the waiting room with an appointment. Do yourself a favor and do not go here. They put my crown in wrong and for a year I was suffering with jaw pain. I kept going back telling them it was pain from the crown but they said it was my wisdom teeth. They removed those thinking that it was the problem and did a bunch of other things that I did not need done. I had my gap between my teeth fixed at Aspen Dental (Wesley Chapel) last December 2019 and this month of June 2021 the other side of my tooth filling fell off. They told me before they will fix it when it happens so I came back, and they has to do another X-Ray and I paid $132.00 for that. Then, they told me to have another cleaning which is cost for $1,786.00 before they will fix 1 side of my tooth for the gap filling that fell off for $710.00. So, I guess I can't proceed to the gap filling in my front teeth since they said I have problem on my back side of teeth that need to clean and it is very expensive for just cleaning when my main problem is only the front teeth in one little area. This dental office structure has no concern for the patient. They tell you, you need extra upsell cleaning services and then refuse to treat you for the cleaning you requested. They used up 3 years of my insurance coverage for exams, so I have been requesting my dental records to get a second opinion. The records are at the Corporate office which is a black hole which you cannot contact. This is not the dental office where you will get personal family care and support. I'll start out saying how friendly the staff is, because that is about all this place has going. And I'll follow with don't waste your time with this place, they just want your money. I called in dire pain after waking up with a random abscessed tooth. I was told my first visit would be free and that they had an appoint open that day at 5pm. I waited all day in hopes of getting some relief, as I was in tears. I go to my appointment, the dental assistant takes about 25 minutes of X-rays. When the dentist came in to speak to me she informed that my tooth that was causing me pain was actually a gum infection and the tooth was free of any major issues, and then went on for about 15 minutes about the other side of my mouth that I supposedly need a root canal. She did absolutely nothing and gave me zero information about what I came in for. I was a bit confused because she had yet to help me with my initial problem, but she told me I could talk to staff member that would help me set up a follow up appointment, so I was under the impression she would be giving me more information. Nope. The first thing out of her mouth was "so we can set you up for the root canal on the 26th". I explained that I was not there about that side of my mouth and was only looking for help with what I came in. She then continued on about how they offered financial help and blah blah blah. At that point I lost my confidence in the place and decided to seek help from an actual dentist. If you are looking for a self pay emergency dentist, this place will just waste your time and you will leave with $5k estimate on fixing something that's not bothering you (that is including their friendly 20% off) and you'll still be in pain! read more

Its sad that I have to take time out of my day to write such a review, but the way I was treated by Michele at the Aspen Dental in Wesley Chapel is honestly ridiculous. From the start, Michelle was not understanding of my situation. I explained how I had given Katy (Office Manager) my dental insurance two days prior and was told my Katy that they would give me a call that same day, being that I wanted to go ahead and proceed with my treatment plan. Michelle had told me that the insurance card I had given to Katy would not work, yet that is the same insurance card that I have used for the past four years at all different locations across the US, and never had a problem with it (Military ID/insurance card). I told her that my dental insurance was under tricare and all she needed was the benefit number on the back. At this point should wouldn't let me talk and kept stating how it wouldn't work. At this point I was frustrated with how unprofessionally she was handling the situation and I asked for the corporate number and she stated that she couldn't give it to me. I'm very disappointed at how I was treated and Aspen Dental as a whole should have a team meeting, on how to better treat their patients. Horrible service. Don't recommend them at all. I went in once before for an evaluation and x-rays...everyone was incredible The entire staff was knowledgeable, caring, compassionate, and kind. They all really took their time with me, made me feel comfortable, at put me at ease. I went back in today for an extraction of one of my molars, and again - all of the staff were so kind. EXCEPT for the actual dentist! Not only was she unprofessional and rude, but she actually seemed like she was trying to make me feel badly for being nervous. Instead of trying to comfort me, or let me know everything would be fine...she berated me with rude comments and asked me if I could 'actually handle this'... 'do you like, have anxiety or something...?' and 'this might take a while, you just have to calm down'. Granted, yes I was nervous, and I had tears running down my face, but I wasn't moving, talking, anything (just laying back silently with my eyes closed and tearing). There were many other rude comments that she said to me, including 'I'll let you know if your sinuses perforate' while she was working on me. Her tone and demeanor actually made me even more nervous to answer her questions in case she may have held a grudge or something.
