Had to do the first patient routinely procedure before scheduling for root canal surgery, good first impression and detailed. Then was told they are gonna send a request for the surgery and it should be approved, so I don't have to worry. End of the month of December comes around, still waiting but now are in pain with throbbing, sensitivity, consistent migraines, and lack of sleep. So I had to come into the Aspen Dental to do an emergency surgery for root canal in accordance by instructions and it's advertised on their right front window. But was declined and told because there was no doctor was in the office on Monday 30th of a working day, must be nice. Went to aspen dental in extreme pain for a tooth that had to be extracted with an abscess. They did all types of X-rays and were offering me a care plan they put together. Who wants to hear that they need to dish out thousands of dollars to have everything done when they are in so much pain? [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was in distress and couldn't think straight. All I wanted was a prescription for pain and antibiotics so I can come back and get my tooth extracted[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Fast forward, I make an appointment for the extraction. If I could give Aspen Dental a 0 Stars rating, I would do that. I needed an extraction of a tooth that was not repairable. I contacted Aspen for the extraction, because BOTH of my dental plans covered Aspen and stated that they had a dental surgeon on staff. I called the number for Aspen Dental every week for four weeks and spoke to the person who answers the phone at a central office for the network. Each time, they said they would send a message to the local Aspen in McDonough on Route 20 and/or they tried to call them to help me schedule an appointment. Finally, on the fourth call, they advised that they had been hacked the month before and that their entire system (including phones) had been down and that some of the offices were still coming back online. They suggested I go to the Aspen office to make my appointment. Subsequently, I did go to the local Aspen office to schedule an appointment. The young man at the front desk was filled with his own self-importance, was snooty, and took his time, lots of time, to gather information, including calling and confirming with both my dental insurance carriers that they would cover the extraction and how much they would cover. But, of course, he couldn't make an appointment until he checked with the dental surgeon to be sure that an appointment was appropriate. He came back in his own sweet time and gave me an appointment. He had already verified that my insurance would pay the full cost of the extraction (which my regular dentist had guessed would cost between $400 and $500). Appointment day came, and I sat for an hour past my appointment time, before anyone spoke to me. When I finally got in the chair, after a very nice tech had taken X-rays. Then, the oral surgeon came in and said that, she would look at me in "a while" and we would work out a treatment plan. I stated that, since I was having surgery for cancer in three weeks, I wanted the tooth out today, right now. Surgeon left the room. Fifteen minutes later, office manager came into the room and, standing behind me where I couldn't see her, proceeded to tell me that the extraction was going to cost me $800 over and above the insurance coverage. I asked her to come in front of me, where I could read her lips, because I didn't believe what I was hearing. She reiterated that, over and above anything that my insurance coverage was going to pay, it was going to cost me $854 additional. Since I had previously priced an extraction with a number of other dentists who didn't take both of my dental insurance coverages, I knew that the average price for this extraction by just about every dental surgeon close to me was about $425. My dental insurance coverage would have paid that much plus half again as much, so I knew that $825 was ridiculous, especially after I had been told that my insurance coverage was adequate to cover the cost of the extraction. Suffice to say, I will NEVER go to Aspen Dental again, and I would advise anyone looking for a place to obtain dental services never to go there, as well. Rude, discourteous, inefficient, and outrageously expensive. Horrible! read more

I had an appt at 8:30 AM on today 4/12 for a crown and post treatment. i was very disappointed with the lack of skill and professionalism i received today. The dentist definitely had no clue what she was doing. Somehow my gums started bleeding profusely, the pain was awful, they left in and out multiple times saying they had to get other tools, there was no detailed explanation as to what was happening. A temporary crown was placed on my tooth and this is the worse one I've ever seen. My teeth are white, the crown looks beige.... the dentist left out and never returned! i was left with two incompetent assistants. i walked out of there at 1230! 4 HOURS LATER! This is unacceptable and i will escalate this issue further. This was the worse dentist experience in my life! read more

NO STAR! At Aspen Dental Mcdonough Ga... My husband went in for a simple tooth extraction. The tooth Number 20 was already loose. I got quoted a price for 216.00 for a simple extraction and a 29.00 xray and visit. Once they had him back there it all changed poking and prodding and xraying the whole mouth. It was taking a long time, so I got up and went back, only to find them in the office trying to up this visit to over 700.00 dollars. Claimed the top of the tooth had to be cut off, so considered surgical. This made no sense. When my husband said he was not going to pay that amount, they changed it to 369.00. This alone should be a dead giveaway. The scheduler didn't take down my need for a cleaning and aligner consultation so when I arrived the receptionist told me there was no one on sight who could help me. WTH? The was the absolute WORST dental experience I've ever had! The dentist was unprofessional and dirty. She didn't even try to help me what so ever. I came in as an emergency because my crown had popped off. All they wanted to was try to talk me into buying a new crown and take a bunch of X-rays! I'm totally disgusted by the treatment I received. Aspen dental service in McDonough is just horrible!! After giving a second chance to provide better service, they have again failed my mother and I! Several times we've had appointments that have been cancelled/rescheduled without enough prior notice (usually 30-45min prior to appointment and via a text - while on way to appointment). Recently, went to get permanent dentures only to get there and be told "the tech didn't do his job so he was fires and we are ordering your dentures". Made appointment to get permanent dentures, after new tech on board, 3weeks out...45min before appointment, Mom get txt of a new appointment 2 more weeks out...call Aspen and is told appointment still on and not sure why the reschedule. Get there, wait 45min...go back, cleaning tech says she's gonna clean to prepare for new dentures...after she's done, the office manager comes in and says we will have to reschedule because dentures not in! And she has the nerve to get an attitude because I expressed disappointment in having once again made a trip and not receiving service appointment intended for nor did anyone contact us to let us know the permanent dentures still were not in!!! This has been a year process and I would NEVER have anything else done or recommend this place!!! If I could give this office no stars, I would. 6 years ago they made my upper denture--still under warranty as of today. One of the front teeth had fallen out this weekend, and because I couldn't go without a front tooth and I couldn't get to them on a Monday, I used an over the counter denture paste to hold it in place until they could fix it today (Tuesday). I took it up to the office (which is an hour and half drive) for them to take it and say they couldn't fix it because of the over the counter glue. When I asked what I was supposed to do about this problem, the receptionist LITERALLY shrugged her shoulders at me and said, "I don't know. It's not our problem. I don't know what to tell you." Even though it fell under my warranty I was still willing to pay for it to be fixed...but nothing. I have never been so disrespected (and I teach high schoolers). She was so rude. I would NEVER give this place your business. I then went to the Aspen Dental in Fayetteville who said it was a quick fix (even with the over the counter glue) and fixed it within the hour. If you need a dental office, please go see the Aspen Dental in Fayetteville. The people at that location truly know how to treat their patients and customers. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Aspen is not the same as when they first opened. Unfortunately, there are entirely too many issues to list. The most current is that they do not answer the phones. I tried for over a week to get someone to answer, and they never did or nor returned my call. I ended up having to take off work to drive up there to try and get my issue resolved. I started the process to get a nightguard made and it took me over two months. (It should take 2 weeks.) First appointment, they were late. (with no concern). 2nd appointment, they cancelled and didn't have an explanation as to why. 3rd appointment, i was here for 2 hours just trying to get a scan done to make the guard. Tried to call... again no answer. Once I got here, I was told that the scan was invalid, and they needed to do it again. More like they probably didn't order it and that was their cover. They asked me when I arrived if i even had the scan done yet. ( not a good sign especially since i've already paied my portion of the bill.) What would have happened if i didn't take off work, and arrive at the office? A corporate CSR emailed the office manager and still I never received a response. During that process I asked numerous times if they took my insurance and they said yes. The earliest availability was 2.5 months out and we waiting patiently. I called their local office and corporate numerous times the morning of the appointment and couldn't get through to the local office. Their corporate office told me that they took my insurance, so I went to my appointment. When we showed up they did not have us in the system, and told us to wait for 2 hours and maybe they'd be able to get me alone in and not my wife. The next availability was 2 weeks out, if we wanted to go that route. I said let's reschedule and do you guys take my insurance? And they said no. We were not the only ones in the office that had issues that day. It appeared that most of their customers were pissed at them for some reason. They are very disorganized and unprofessional. Was tired of private dental prices and antics. Went to Aspen which by the way your first visit and X-rays are free. I barely got my paper work done, they were calling be back for X-rays. Saw the dentist made a plan done and done! From the time I walked in the door to the time I walked out, the staff was friendly, the office was clean and inviting and couldn't have asked for a better experience at a corporate dentist office. First ever experience with the McDonough office was beyond terrible. I made an appointment with a call center which i should've known then i was making a mistake. He confirmed twice with me that my daughters appointment was at 8:45 on 2/14. When she arrived they didn't have an appointment for her and stated it was April 18. I spoke to someone over the phone said they could fit her in at 2 for a cleaning and i confirmed with the lady if she had a cavity after cleaning could they fill the same day because she has to her her braces on next week in which she replied if they have time they would which led me to believe they were doing the cleaning. My daughter went back at 2 and all they did was xrays and scheduled her to come back in a week for a cleaning. I was livid and was told they don't ever do cleanings the same day. They did do her filling and she's been in terrible pain since Thursday. I was also told she needed a deep cleaning which has never happened before and it would be $200. I've never had an experience with any dentist office the way I've had with Aspen. After telling a few of my family and friends they didn't have anything nice to say either. We won't be returning and i suggest do your research before you make an appointment. Follow up: i was told my daughter needed a deep cleaning she has signs of gingivitis. This particular office is all about the money! They are not an emergency facility, even for existing patients as they advertise!! Had an exam less than a year ago and called to see about getting my fillings done. They want you to do another exam and another cleaning before they do anything. Ins was already billed and paid, yet they want another one in less than a year. Explained I was in pain and can we just get this done in one day. Why do i need another expensive cleaning for less than a year? Mercedes wasn't accommodating just kept quoting I'd have to pay again and spread out the appt. What part of pain aren't you getting?? Another awesome experience! Had an emergency appointment. Was seen right away and problem was resolved by none other than Clenda, an exceptional dental assistant. She's always so helpful, professional and friendly. And I can't say enough about Dr Oh. He's very gentle and friendly and competent. I feel so confident with his work. During my last visit Clenda and Dr Oh were training a dental assistant, Shameeka. They were very professional and patient and Shameeka was a natural. She's going be another valuable addition to Aspen's technical staff. The only concern I have is there seems to be new staff that may be questionable as I observed one unfamiliar worker standing off to the side doing something on her cell phone for several minutes while I was in the chair being serviced. This is the third time that I have been in. 1. For X-rays 2. For a cleaning 3. For a cleaning I had to wait an hour plus past my scheduled appointment on all of these visits. In all cases the hygienist was very friendly and accommodating. On my last visit after waiting an hour to get my teeth cleaned the dentist told the hygienist that she didn't have time to check out my teeth. Considering that I was the only person there I don't know what could of been prioritized over the customer. read more

Went twice and will never return. Half the staff is unprofessional, even cursing in front of patients. The dentist who was putting in a filling was speaking to a young assistant about the previous dentist who had done 'sloppy' work on my other tooth. He smelled horribly of B.O. Went in for my free new patient exam and it was seriously free ya'll! Almost everyone was super wonderful! Everyone asked if I was in any pain before they touched me which was reassuring. Nothing in the procedure was painful though some parts were uncomfortable. The lady who addressed the financials with me was patient, knowledgeable, and completely empathetic. The only person who was not perfect was the front desk lady. I went round with the lady about how I wanted to read a copy of the privacy policy before I signed the page that said I had been provided a copy. She tried to convince me that the financial policy was the same thing as the privacy policy and then that I should just sign it because "basically it just says that your information belongs to us and we won't give it away." I gave her the unsigned paper and when I sat down I saw that it was posted on the wall and many copies were available on the bins on the wall and table. Not so bad though that my ONLY complaint was the not perfectly informed receptionist. Absolutely worth the trip and happy to have begun the road towards fixing my smile! read more
