I am very disappointed with the quality of dental work I received at Arena Dental Group. I have experienced ongoing issues with multiple fillings, including having to get them redone repeatedly. Dr.Candace does not take her time and rushes. I don't think she really cares. After seeking care from a new dentist, I was informed that several of my fillings were not done correctly and needed to be replaced. The shape and fit of the fillings were off, which has caused continued problems. In one case, a filling was done improperly in a way that allows food particles to become trapped underneath it, leading to an unpleasant odor and concern about long-term dental health. These issues point to a lack of precision and attention to detail in the work performed. Dental procedures, especially fillings, should be done correctly the first time to avoid unnecessary complications and additional treatment. I hope Arena Dental Group takes steps to improve the quality and accuracy of their dental work to prevent other patients from experiencing similar issues. I paid for a lot of my fillings out of pocket due to insurance maxing out just for them to be done incorrectly. Now I'll have to pay again to get them redone. Not to mention they will reschedule your appointment without notifying you. I showed up several times and the office was closed during regular business hours. I'm a new patient to Dr. Thomas with about 6 months of visits and interactions due to getting my teeth that need a lot of attention taken care of. I chose this practice because they have listed on the website that they provide sedation dentistry which is true to a certain extent. You won't be put to sleep but you will be prescribed medication to help you relax through your treatment if that's something you feel you can benefit from during a visit to to your dentist. The staff have all been so accommodating. I've had to come in between appts. due to new dental issues popping up and they've listen to my concerns and got me in as soon as possible. I have real trauma from past dental treatments and dental offices along with having a medical condition that doesn't allow me to lie flat on my back let alone with my head tilted back. I've had anxiety attacks just preparing for dental appointments for fear of having another dismissed/painful/mistreated experience. I say all of this because I feel I've finally found a dentist and dental office that understands the patient's perspective and is so Informative so I know why and what needs to be done for my individual treatment needs. It means a lot that I can voice that I really have issues with coming to the dentist as a fear and them not be defensive but understanding that past experiences have made it hard to make the appointment let alone sit for work every other week to get my teeth in an ideal state. I couldn't be more pleased with the gentle treatment that I've received at Arena. They have really done their best to accommodate me understanding that it's challenging for me. I'm excited about getting my work done with Dr. Thomas. That's how comfortable I am with her care and I'm faithful that I can get through this because I've been blessed with a experienced, relatable, caring dentist and dental staff. read more

1/5/24: Despite the dismissal letter saying they would send my records to a new facility, the new dentist office has been trying to reach them for 2 days but no one answers the phone. Therefore, I had to pay out of pocket for new X-rays. I wanted to get the same experience as all the other review's but maybe I caught Dr Thomas and her staff on a bad day or just rushed day. Either way, I wanted to share my experience so others can be aware of the type of care you might receive. Update(12/13/23): Im changing my rating to a one star due to the most recent event. It's been almost a week since my last visit to Arena Dental and instead of someone returning my phone calls, I got a letter in the mail today dismissing me from the practice!!!! Instead of trying to make it right and fix the work that was done, I get a dismissal letter via mail. This practice didn't even have the common courtesy to call me regarding my issues. As of today I am still in pain when I attempt to eat anything harder than a smoothie. I have never in my life been treated as such and I'm appalled at the level of care and professionalism this practice has shown me. 12/7/23-I came here after not going to a dentist for two years due to unforeseen circumstances. After my first visit, I was told I had nine cavities, and that I needed to have fillings. Usually I don't do well with dental procedures so I asked the staff if the office provided nitrous oxide?! I was told that they no longer provided that but they provided Valium. I was not able to use that due to not having someone to drive me home. Once I arrive for my appointment, I was told that I had to pay for the service prior to the treatment, However, I wanted to talk to the doctor in regards to possibly having only a few fillings done vice the five I was scheduled for. IF NO COMPASSION was a place, this dental practice would be it. I voiced my concern to the Dentist and her responses and tone when speaking to me, made me feel as if I was getting on her nerves and wasting her time, because I was concerned and afraid of the dental procedure without anxiety medication. Not only did she rush the procedure but once she was done she just got up and left without saying anything to me. To top it off, I was left with an uneven bite which causes pain when I bite down. I am unable to eat comfortably due to the pain. Once I realized this after the anesthesia wore off, I called the office back about 30 minutes before they closed to let them know, because I was told that if I was to experience any pain or an uneven bite, then to let them know so they could fix it. However, no one answered the phone. I left a voicemail and called back several times the next morning. They apparently suppose to open at 9 AM and no one has returned my phone call nor answering the phone. it is 9:30 AM on a Thursday. I am dissatisfied with the level of professionalism, as well as the service that I received. I will be taking my business to a practice that actually cares about their patients. I was a patient of Dr. Thomas for years. I've referred patients to her practice of which I will no longer do. I always had a great deal of respect and confidence in Dr. Thomas caring for my dental needs. During my visits she was personable and we often had candid conversations which made me feel very comfortable. The hygienist who ultimately left the practice w/o prior notice after being there for years who did a great job taking care of my dental needs when she wasn't constantly criticizing me for having braces on for so long. Aside from that I was very confident the hygienist and Dr. Thomas took special care of my dental needs from one Veteran to another. Recently, during my last routine 6-month cleaning. Ester who is a total puppet for Dr. Thomas always seems to have an issue with me when I come into the office. During my last visit, in the midst of me taking a quick call for work, as a supervisor I needed to take the call. I was in the exam room waiting for the hygienist to come in the exam room. Ester walks and rudely tells me I can't be on the phone. Mind you there is no signage that reads "No cell phone usage allowed in the exam rooms." After my visit, I expressed my concerns to the office manager, Margaret who is very very FAKE. She only shook her head and didn't say anything, nor did she apologize for the treatment I received. I shared with Margaret, Ester seems to always have an issue with me for some unknown reason. I'm pretty sure she told Dr. Thomas what I said of which I DO NOT care. But what she didn't tell Dr. Thomas is she talks about her to the patients. I want to see her tell that, LOL :) Jessica was a much better office manager. Fast forward... 6-months later... I returned in September for a 6-month cleaning. I confirmed the appointment via text, even received an automated reminder call. Unbeknownst to me, 4-days after my appointment in March, Dr. Thomas "SUPPOSEDLY" mailed a letter dismissing me from her practice. Oddly, I NEVER received the letter, LOL!!! They in-turn provided me with the dismissal letter when I showed up for the appointment. TACKY... TACKY...TACKY to say the least. Dr. Thomas has my personal cell# and didn't have the decency to pick-up the phone can gain my side of the story as an established patient. LOST ALL respect for Sis. Not a problem, I relocated out of the Jonesboro area and was planning to look for a dentist closer to my new location so I wouldn't have to commute to her office. They actually did me a favor... Thank you! If you don't mind seeing a new staff member during each visit because the staff turn over is VERY HIGH, as it's been said by previous staff members she doesn't like to pay them nothing more than pennies for their work. (You know... full-time work with part-time pay.) And if you do not want to be dismiss, DO NOT COMPLAIN. Let them treat you any kind of way and you will be just fine. Do not expect an apology. You will be WRONG as a patient and DISMISSED :) If that's the experience you're looking for in your dental practice, then you're most definitely in the right place, no doubt :) The negative reviews are most definitely TRUE!! I left a 20 year dental relationship to support my own during BLM. It was time anyway for a more proactive dental professional. The last one, called those sticky darks spots on my teeth stains. Dr. Thomas clarified that they were CAVITIES! I love Dr. Thomas' get the job done attitude with no-nonsense. Her assistant Ms. Ester is equally professional and pleasant. Mrs. Tran is meticulous about the details of Dr. Thomas' patients' cleanings And the front office staff are consistently reliable for all of the office needs. It's a nice place with friendly and genuine workers with a great dentist, but the problem starts with the phones. It can be hard getting in touch as most of my calls go to voicemail. Sure you can leave one but I've never had my voicemail listened to or my call returned. I always have to call back a few days later hoping someone answers. The next issue is this place does not have ideal availability. Even for a cleaning it'll take over a month to get in. New client appointments can take longer to get into. If they fixed those problems I would love this place Update: they've improved a lot on the calls. No more problems since. read more

I was referred to this dental practice by a friend and am so happy I went there. The staff was very welcoming and the office was clean and peaceful (I've gone to other dental practices where the walls were scuffed I assume from furniture and kids playing). I needed an extraction and Dr. Thomas was able to remove it the same day, only took her about 10 minutes! I've never had such a great experience. With past dentists, they had to use extra shots to numb my mouth and weren't as patient. Dr. Thomas talked to me the whole way through (she probably sensed I was nervous) and made me feel very comfortable. Before I knew it the tooth was out! I came back a week later so they could check if I was healing properly and my experience with the staff was great once again. They then suggested other services that were available to me at no out of pocket cost with my insurance. I was able to get a cleaning by the hygienist named Tram (who was so sweet and spoke to me like I was a dear friend). They looked at my dental plan and suggested which procedures I could get without coming out of pocket. I really appreciate the customer service they provided and would highly recommend Dr. Thomas and her team. Great job to everyone on this team! read more

I called to confirm, I have not received an response via email or messaging. I saw they called me once but they did not leave a message. I called back same day, within a hour to one frame and received NO RESPONSE. I called back and left a message asking for appointment day and time confirmation and if for some reason I am not available for them to leave a detailed message or send me an email. I came to this office for a Dental Bridge and I am BEYOND happy with my results!! Dr. Thomas and her staff will not let you leave if they are not 100% happy with your results. I mean I can't even tell the difference between which teeth are real and which are not. The process was very fast and AFFORDABLE. I went in, we discussed my options, 3 days later i came in and got my molding and temporary bridge and they told me it would take about 3 weeks for the permanent bridge to come in but It only took 2 weeks! I made an appointment for Dr. Thomas to see my wife. When we came in for the appointment, she was out and had a different dentist filling in. We were not given notice that we would be seen by a different dentist. We had the new dentist do the fillings, and a few days later part of a filling came out. We went back to Dr. Thomas, and they were hesitant to fix it at first. We had Dr. Thomas fix the filling, and my wife found that after the filling was done that the tooth was rough on the front. They stated that it would smooth itself out, however it never did. They would not allow her to come back to have it smoothed out. read more

I'm sorry and I never give a bad review but this office is the worst from the receptionist on to Dr. Thomas!!! I went there trying to give my people a chance to prove me wrong and this has been the worst dental experience I have ever had!!! I was told I needed to extract the tooth and I needed a deep cleaning and 8 small fillings... need to say I received the extraction Dr Thomas cut the side of my mouth to extract the tooth and then left my mouth unstitched and didn't explain to me why she had done so ... and she also left tooth fragments inside my mouth inside the opening because she nor her assistant rinsed my mouth out correctly she barely had water in my mouth during the procedure which I have never experienced! Need to say I went back to finish the recommendations and also to show her that something was aggravating my jaw like a sharp piece of tooth ... she stated oh I got to shave that bone then she said it calculus build up because you need a deep cleaning then she said oh I didn't have to shave the bone it came right out ... I was livid and in tears the entire time and do you think she took one moment to then explain to me that she didn't have to shave the bone NO she didn't !! Dr. Thomas really needs some professionalism courses because she will walk in don't speak and walk out and don't even say thank you for coming ... are you ok NOTHING.. smh I will never go back !! I have cancelled my 3 children appointments and we will go elsewhere!!! Oh and make sure your prices stay the same mine changed 5 times!! I was told the total you have to pay is 235$ minding you all I have one of the best dental insurance you can have! Then I was told your total is 100$ but you have to pay the second half tomorrow ... ok, next day your balance is 181$ I'm like ok if I paid 100$ the first day and you said my total was 235$ why am I paying 181$ the NEXT DAY! She said oh because you need 11 filings smmh you just said 8 so I gained 3 more in 2 days!! Smmh something is definitely not right with them... BE CAREFUL OF ARENA DENTAL DR.THOMAS!!!! I will only say what my experience was and leave it at that. I am a difficult case to begin with. I don't handle anesthesia well and I have anxiety over past trauma with dentists. I needed a deep cleaning and after my initial consult felt that Arena would be the best dentist to handle my case. After many months of working with my insurance to make sure that I would be covered, I finally was able to schedule an appointment. At the onset, I told Arena that it would take MANY shots to numb me. I was told that they would see how many was required. During the procedure, they SAW that I was not taking to the anesthesia (side note.. I made a noise when the pick went into my gum and the dentist told me not to make noise, that I needed to control that). They gave me the maximum 10 or 11 shots because a small portion of my gum wasn't numb. I told them that the medicine wears off quickly on me but instead of working on the numb areas until the medicine fully took affect on the other parts, they had me to wait 15 or 20 minutes until my entire mouth was numb. When they finally began to continue to work on my mouth, the medicine either didn't work everywhere or had begun to wear off. I told them that because they had already worked on about 25% of my mouth to finish despite me feeling pain in some areas. I wanted to just get it over with. They refused and said that I would have to be referred to a specialist. I left there with a bleeding mouth, completely numb and only about 25% complete only to have to go through the entire process all over again another day. My strong suggestion is that if you (Arena) is to listen to your patients. They know their body better than you. Also, if you encounter a client with high tolerance for medicine AND they tell you this in the beginning, pass them to a specialist BEFORE you work on them, so they won't walk out the door drooling and incomplete like I did. It's not a good look for anyone! read more

Have gone to this location several times and had always been satisfied until my last visit. I scheduled appointments for my children and I. We all had cleanings, xrays and estimates for future procedures that they stated we needed. The office manager pulled me in the office and went over details and asked me if I wanted to have any extra services today and stated my son was the worst off. My insurance took care of that days bill. I deciding to get several filing my son needed. She comes to me later and states that he no longer had coverage since he had recently had a birthday (23). Which meant we would have to pay out of pocket for these services! I've been to enough dentist offices to know that it's customary to check coverage before services are rendered! Needless to say I was livid! I have not been back since and I'm paying the bill but in small amounts. My son informed me today that he lost 3 out of 6 of those fillings six months later. We will be speaking with someone in the office about that asap! My 20 year old daughter had and appt in their office yesterday. She wasn't aware I wasn't dealing with them anymore. They filled several teeth but didn't give instructions on dos and don't. She stated that front office lady stated our insurance was comparable to Obama Care???? Really???? Also one of the office staffers was making negative comments about one of her co-worker in my daughter's presence. This office has some serious issues. The lack of professionalism disrespectfullness an incompetence is absolutely ridiculous! We will not refer this dental group to others nor will we be scheduling any future procedures besides the corrections for the missing filings. read more
