Total sham. Won't clean your teeth instead they try to upcharge a series if cleanings for hundreds of dollars.

I was told a price for my husband having a tooth removed. it was a very high price but I put it on my care credit because my husband was in pain. imagine my horror when a few weeks later I got an additional bill for 400.00. I didn't even know what I was being charged for. The guy on the phone was rude. I asked for an itemized statement as the bill I got didn't show the 1000 I had already given them. He emailed me something with a bunch of terms I didn't know what they stood for. i'm very disappointed and feel ripped off. 1400 to pull a tooth?? . I will never go back to Aspen Dental. read more

Fraudulent behind the scenes. They are in network with both of my dental plans. They only chose to use the commercial. They did not even touch my medicare humana dental plan. I should not have owed money at all. They are discreet about not using a medicare dental plan but really they are committing fraud so that they can get more money. read more

while at Aspen Dental on October 30, 2024. I noticed other white people who came in after me filled out paperwork just like I did were seen before i was for an appointment. because I am a black senior citizen I was not, instead I was told to come back the next day. It was very clear that Aspen Dental treat black senior citizen differently than they do white, this is harassment, racial discrimination, blacks are not treated fairly as white. the conduct of the staff in this public agency is reprehensible and disgraceful in the way they treat black senior citizen in the city of Muncie, Indiana at Aspen Dental. read more

Senior citizen- 71 years of age, goes to Aspen Dental for an extraction. In severe pain...counting the hours until relief. Her med/dental insurance rep called the day before to let Aspen Dental know she had insurance and to answer any questions. The patient has $1500 a year- of which she has used none. The dentist quickly looked at the tooth today, agreed it needed extracted, then the patient was sent into a "sales room." She seemed so nice- that lady behind the desk. Then, she handed the patient a paper that had expenses for her "comprehensive plan" for their services, and listed a small amount the dental insurance would pay for the extraction. Then, she showed the patient HER portion- that SHE was to pay over $600 today. Most of her $1500 yearly dental benefit went to this "comprehensive plan." The patient said she couldn't pay that...the "salesperson" pressured the patient to fill out an application- on a tablet, for dental credit. All the patient wanted was an extraction and to be pain-free. The grand total was over $1800. The salesperson circled the patient's portion of over $600 due today, saying "If we don't get this, we cannot do this" (then circled the extraction). They do not care here...even when you are in extreme pain. They just want your money. It is like extortion..."If you don't pay this," then "we cannot do this," like the "salesperson" said. They lost a good patient with dental insurance when the senior citizen walked out. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I went to aspen in July 2021. On October 20th 2021 I called about a new bill I got in the mail and got told by a woman named Taylor that I didn't have an outstanding balance and she had no idea where the bill had come from. Go to almost three years later, I get a call from a collections agency about the very bill! Aspen had not tried to contact me what so ever after that conversation with Taylor. I called the office and all the way to the Patient Satisfaction Center and got absolutely no answers as the why there was no outstanding balance on my account after receiving the bill, when it actually became an outstanding balance, why it's taken nearly 3 years for anyone to contact me about this bill, absolutely nothing. Do not go to this office. They are terrible and will scam you repeatedly. read more

I personally had a great experience here. Awesome staff! Very helpful. They was able to get my work done in less visits. Not missing to much work was important to me. They understood that. They explained everything very Thoroughly to me. The doctor is great down to earth guy. Just very helpful and understanding people there! I definitely will go back again! read more

The visit with the dentists are usually fine and done well. My issue is with they hygienist who seems to take her bad attitude out on your mouth during a cleaning. I shouldn't leave a cleaning with my mouth in pain when its just a cleaning and a routine one at that. My other issue is with billing. It doesn't matter if they give you a price and you pay it 100% upfront or for each appointment at the time of the appointment they always try to double charge you for things you've already paid for or try going back and saying they were wrong and adding $200+ if you've prepaid for everything. It's bullshit and they know it. read more

I urge anyone in the muncie area to avoid this place and find a small family dentist office. 1st off my husband had gone there thinking he would get a cleaning and instead received a bunch of tests and they told him he had parodontitus. From there he went to a finance person that told him he needed a procedure that cost thousands of dollars. So, I had him go to my dentist and he actually cleaned his teeth and told him he didn't have parodontitus!! This place is setting people up to get money from them for procedures they don't need!! We were very pleased with the Dentist. He was extremely gentle and made my husband feel comfortable. It was by far the best dentist he has ever been to. What we didn't like was that we were told a specific out of pocket price. We even told them we wanted to pay all the put of pocket up front. We paid them the $1700 that they said was our part. 2 months after my husband got his dentures, we received a bill for almost $500 more. When we called Aspen to see what it was from they told us that the paper we signed and agreed to wasnt correct and we still had to pay. It was with some trepidation that I committed my mouth and its contents to a dental chain that can't go three sentences without mentioning how "affordable" it is...but being as my husband and I aren't exactly rolling in the green, hey, affordable is good, right? The initial exam, consultation, and even x-rays were free (I believe the free x-rays were part of a promotion at the time of writing this review, so no guarantees if they'll be free later), which was nice right off the bat. My husband went in before I did and came back well-pleased. They were just as friendly and professional as their ads said, and did their part to keep him informed on what his teeth were like. What they were like, however, was "root canal." Ugh. Without further ado, he made his appointment for a week later, had it done painlessly, and now he has a seamless crown and pain-free tooth. Very nice. I had two fillings and a cleaning, all of which were done well, quickly, and with a whole lot of anesthetic. I'm hard to numb and they were extremely attentive to how I was feeling and made sure that nothing hurt. Later, I had two teeth pulled. This was when I found out the first and only thing I really don't like about them: No nitrous oxide. At all. Ack. I was too nervous for the first appointment, so they prescribed me some Seriously Good Stuff and we rescheduled. The day rolled around again, they numbed me up to my eyeballs, and even though it was a tough extraction due to my having funky roots, they did a great job and all I felt was the initial shots and a whole lot of pressure. You wouldn't believe how hard they had to pry to get those teeth out...I was there and I hardly believe it. Thanks, teeth. So far our experiences have been pretty stellar. No laughing gas is a little tough, but they'll give you a script for whatever else you need to cover up for it, and the rest of the service is great. I'd recommend them to anyone in the Funcie area looking for a dentist at a reasonable price. read more

I do not feel comfortable taking my business here. I checked with my insurance after I found this office through my insurance and fillings/simple care were supposed to be covered completely. Yet out of almost $500 only $80 was covered. That's almost $300 for the first visit regarding gingivitis (I went in for a tooth ache in a molar), over $70 for the follow up, AND THEN they would take care of the filling for $45. I was distraught because it felt like even with insurance I couldn't take care of my health, but I called an insurance rep just in case I was mistaken and I was told that this office "didn't seem like a good fit" since they didn't explain costs in detail and "didn't seem to really work with insurance." I was immediately pushed to apply for Care Credit and had to ask that they double check my insurance. Suspicious. read more

This was by far my WORST experience with a dentist! I went in for a cleaning to discover I had a small cavity to fill and an old filling to replace. Although fillings or replacing fillings should not be that big of a deal, for Aspen Dental it took 5 different appointments to get it done and even then, I still have pain every time I chew on something hard (a pain that I did not have before getting my fillings at their facility). 1. They are going to try to charge you for stuff you don't need AND they don't tell you everything they are charging you for. Ask for an itemized bill if you don't want to pay $140 for a toothbrush when you thought you were buying a cleaning. 2. Your insurance won't cover everything they say it will. So my first time here got my x-rays done went into one of the rooms and just sat there for 5min until the dentist came in,ounce she did i told that i needed a tooth pulled. So she went ahead and checked my mouth real quick and within 1min shes telling me i need gingivitis treatment and that i have a lot of cavities. The manager then comes and takes me to her office were she quotes me on the tooth extraction then tells me that i need gingivitis treatment they will give me a prescription mouthwash and a $130 dollar Bluetooth toothbrush. So at this point i knew she was trying to up sell and give me useless things so as soon as i told her i just needed tooth pulled she then proceeded to get real rude.Telling me if i liked to have teeth that i need it done asap. Went there because they were listed as primary care provider for my dental HMO. Not happy! Would not fill cavities unless I had expensive gum treatment, not covered by insurance. Chose to go to another dental clinic and they never mentioned my needing any gum treatment. read more

Not pleased at all. My 88 year old father received his teeth last week. They do not fit. Called the office last week to have them adjusted, as he cannot wear them. Has to wait several days to see someone. Today is his appt. There is a freezing rain advisory today. Sidewalks are icy. Called to see if I might bring him in later today as temperature is supposed to rise. Nope, if I can't get him there at 12:00, he must wait for another week.
