I had an appointment with Aspen Dental in Hanover, PA on January 14, 2026. I was not pleased with my experience as it felt like they treated my teeth like a car warranty more than health. They kept offering me their version of Invisalign which I do not need. The doc offered it, I said no. The tech then offered it, I said no. And they wouldn't let me leave without seeing the office manager who offered it and I said no again. Confirming that I moved dentists and they said there is nothing wrong with the alignment of my teeth (this was my first time with any dentist in 30+ years every mentioning something like this to me before and pushing it on me). On January 20, 2026, I put in a formal request to have my records released to me (including X-Rays) as well as transferred to my new dentist office. Shortly after that, the secretary at Aspen Dental, Hanover confirmed she sent my request in. I called the Hanover office numerous times for my records but never received a call back. On March 10, 2026, I called corporate for the status of my records. They said they received my request but it wasn't processed and that they would process it then and I should receive my records to my email within 5-10 business days. It is now well over 10 business days and I have still not received my records. According to HIPAA regulations, they are try provide my records to me upon request. It has now been over 2 months since my original request and I have still not received my records and neither has my new dentist. Meaning, they are also not HIPAA compliant. Seems like they do anything they can to sell whatever people are gullible enough to buy from them and then they trap you there by not sharing your records. I will also be filing a complaint with the State Dental Board as the HIPAA violation is pretty serious. If they're violating it in this way, it makes me wonder what other illegal things this company is doing with patient information. I am legally entitled to my med records. read more

I googled denture repair in my area and Aspen came up. They touted $49 repair, walk-ins welcome. So I did. Though the man at the desk was very pleasant, he informed me that "this location" does not repair dentures that weren't purchased through Aspen dental. Way to go, Aspen! I told him I am newly relocated to this area so I cannot return to the dentist where I purchased them. Nope. I am looking for a new dentist, but it sure WON'T BE ASPEN! read more

They need training I spent 6 months trying to get a set of dentures just have nothing to show for it the dentures wouldn't fit teeth were crooked craftsmanship poor . The tooth extractions extremely painful and left me with a mouth full of bone spurs when asked during process to remove them as they were painful they only filled the sharp edges off them and I was left with gums with knots in them from spurs left in them ! Bottom line I had to go to another dentist and had to have oral surgery to remove bone spurs left by Aspen . Be advised go to Aspen at your own risk they're all about money quality and the patient doesn't mean anything to them . If i could leave this place negative stars i would. I'm currently healing from wisdom teeth removal that was done with Anthony Prousi and Prousi Oral thats literally only 4 minutes from this location. And if i could pay people to go to Prousi over this place I would. I was told by a doctor i believe is Samuel Kim that "I'll be fine" after requesting to be put under anesthesia for a complicated removal. He got an attitude with me and tried to tell me I'd be fine when i already knew the condition of my wisdom teeth. Not to mention they ended up giving me an estimate that included anesthesia which ended up being way more expensive than the bill I received at Prousi WITH anesthesia. And Anthony told me I'd HAVE to be sedated because of how complicated my teeth were. Samuel Kim has no bedside manners and doesn't know how to talk to people. They do have nice receptionists tho and that's the ONLY good thing i have to say. read more

Absolutely horrible experience! Scheduled appointment, gave my insurance info over the phone, showed up for my appointment and was told that I never gave my insurance info and could have up to a 2 hour wait as a result. If they can't even handle scheduling and logistics they're not allowed in my mouth! Made me feel like they were doing me a favor rather than appreciating my business and my money. read more

After 10k of dental surgery that I paid them for and then was told that they couldn't do the work and I would have to go elsewhere. One problem with that is that I PAID them all the money I have and they still have it. One procedure I woke up during surgery then they sent me out the door bleeding profusely and still half asleep my husband had to take me to the hospital. Don't believe their bait and switch. I selected this place as my new dentist because it is close to home and they accept my insurance. I tried to schedule for my 6 month cleaning, but it wasn't really an option on-line. When they called me to confirm my appointment, I tried to confirm that I would get a semi annual cleaning, but the woman was vague and basically hung up on me. When I showed up for my scheduled appointment, they wanted me to fill in the same information on a touchscreen that I had already done online. I told the receptionist I wanted a cleaning and it doesn't appear to be an option. She now informs me that I cannot have a cleaning, before they do their full evaluation, x-rays, etc. Only after they came up with a treatment plan could I possibly schedule my routine 6 months cleaning. I could see how this scam was going to go. I immediately left. I will now seek out a reputable dentist. Beware, if you are the type to believe anything a doctor (businessman) tells you, this place will take advantage of you. read more

I was a patient at Aspen dental and Roxborough for the past 2 1/2 years. I have been billed close to $700 for their services that were not covered by my insurance. They did peri maintenance and had me sign a document saying that I will be responsible for whatever the insurance company doesn't pay. They were unable to tell me before the cleaning cover how much I would be responsible for until after they submitted the claim. This happened multiple times. Then I would get bill after bill after bill. They even sent me a bill for a cleaning they did nearly three years prior. The billing department is extremely inexperienced and the hygienist and dentist would try to get you to do things that were not necessary. I had to go up there multiple times to ask questions about the bills that I was receiving and nobody could give me a direct answer. I must have gone up there six or seven times (because they would rarely call back when I left a message)until finally I just agreed to pay and move on. At one point I went up there to ask for them to change a future cleaning that was already scheduled to a basic cleaning (not one that I would have to pay out of pocket) where there would administer antibiotics and some other things that were not necessary as per my new dentist. They gave me such a hard time about changing it to just a basic cleaning. Once I moved on to another dentist, aspen personnel said that they were unable to send the x-rays that they took in a manner in which my new dentist would be able to use for diagnostic purposes due to poor image quality. They provided a hardcopy of the xray that was of such poor quality that it would not be able to be used to diagnose as well. My new dental office (who I have seen years prior but stopped going to because I live far away) attempted to contact them to have the xray sent in a manner in which the quality was up to snuff for clinical purposes and the claimed that they didn't have the capability to send it as a jpeg file or through a computer program that most dentist use to share files. The person who requested the X-rays at my new dental office said she never heard of such a thing and when she asked the girl at Aspen what system they use she was told "I don't know." Clearly aspen is all about upselling and I have been told that they work on commission. The more they get you to do, the more the hygienist and dentist make. They don't care if the money is coming from your pocket or the insurance company and are dishonest about what is necessary. I don't ever wrote reviews but they grinder my gears so bad that I really wanted to let other people know how they do business. read more

Good luck getting an appointment, and even more good luck to you actually getting care even with an appointment. They are always, and I mean, ALWAYS, short staffed. They don't even have enough staff or professionalism to get their materials sterilised ahead of time FOR appointments. Prepare to be rescheduled without remorse and to still have your appointment cancelled. The front desk people do their best to manage the gross incompetence and oversights from the dental staff but oh my goodness is this place atrocious. Avoid if you can. Do Not Go There!!!! Save yourself from the worst dental office experience ever. The front desk staff is completely clueless. I arrived at my appointment on time and paid for my services in advance. However, the front desk had me wait for 45 minutes just to advise me that they never checked me due to an error in the system. So I was never able to see the dentist and had to request a manager to refund me my money. The sad part on my behalf is that it wasn't my first visit there and every time I go there something goes wrong. My prior visit the front office was infested with bugs. Yes! Pretty crappy experience overall. I would avoid. Disorganized and did nothing other than assess during a first time visit I scheduled for a routine visit and a specific issue. They did typical first time things like X-rays, checked gum health and talked about a treatment plan (which included a routine cleaning which I thought they would do during a first time visit withered I paid my co pay) Nope, after two hours of just assessment, no actual care, I was then presented with an itemized bill of how much all of what they recommended would cost and I would have to pay up front for the services before they actually did any work. I had to leave due to work obligations and because I've never had to wait for 2 hours at a dental office for literally an assessment of my teeth. I assured them I'd call to schedule my next appointment because I couldn't wait any longer. I was told by one staff member I'd "have to do this all over again" if I left without scheduling..doesn't really make sense. I asked the office member with the itemized estimate if I could call to schedule. She didn't seem happy with that but told me I could. It's been 5 days since that appointment and I can't get a hold of anyone to schedule so I'll be looking for a new dentist that isn't a scammy waste of time. AVOID at all costs. This place is a total scam. Went in for what I believed was a routine dental cleaning which I never received. Instead, I was given 'panoramic X-rays' which I did not consent for.( later billed $132 for this!) From there, was taken to a billing managers office to set up a "payment plan" for proposed 'medical based gum cleaning' for over $1000!!!. Two hours later after being shuffled around the office I was then informed that this was in fact a "consultation" and that I would need to schedule a follow up for a cleaning. To say they were misleading would be an understatement. I will be reporting this to the BBB as well. Do yourself a favor and find a reputable dental office. read more

Wish I would've read the reviews. First time I went there to get a wisdom tooth checked out. Took over 3 hours before I was able to walk out of the dentist office. All they did was a few X-rays btw. My scheduled wisdom teeth removal went as planned on my second visit, so no problems there. But my 3rd visit, needed a cavity filled, scheduled my appointment for 7:30, they called and asked to move to 10:30 and I agreed. I get to the appointment, but wasn't called back until 11:25. They don't have a handicap accessible entrance with a door for disabled persons particularly if you are in a wheelchair. They NEVER tell you what is due money wise until you show up for an appointment, when you have signed a contract. They take advantage of patients by using a "payment plan". Erica is the office manager. You never see the same doctor twice in a row unless you specifically request it. It reminds you of a fast food restaurant or an Amazon warehouse. I was charged over $1000 dollars for two teeth cleaning appointments. I did require a special antibiotic was for pre-gingivitis on my gums, which ended up being $600 extra dollars My insurance company never got the required documentation from aspen dental to warrant covering this cost. The receptionist promised me my payment would not go to collections until they figured it out, but i received letters in the mail from aspen telling me my payment was in fact going to collections. After retiring from a 40 year career in dentistry, I moved to Philadelphia and needed a new dentist. I thought I had enough knowledge to choose the proper facility for me. I have no dental issues and know what I need and what I look for in a provider. I went to my initial appointment of X-rays and a consultation. I like it that way, because being a dental hygienist myself, I know every cleaning is different and you can't always get it done on the first appointment or sometimes, even in one appointment. I received professional care. The staff was friendly. It is a very new office, so there are a few glitches to work out, like scheduling and staffing.
