This establishment, and everyone who works here, should be very proud of the face they show the public. They are all efficient, thorough, kind, and empathic ~ to a fault! I had my original dentures made at a competitor of Aspen Dental's in Greenville, approximately 3 years ago, they have NEVER FIT. From day-one I've had to use both paste and powdered adhesive to keep them in, I have never been able to eat with them in and my meals and snacks have been reduced to food I can gum to death! Every time I tried to have them fixed I was paying several hundred dollars, out of pocket, and they kept getting more loose ~ even though they were supposed to be guaranteed for 7 years. Aspen Dental in Simpsonville has completely changed my bad feelings about dentures in general. Dr Tyler Clausen is magical, I went there to have a tooth extracted and wound up getting my top denture redone. He is phenomenal, everything he promised me has come true and I can never thank him (or his entire staff) enough. I no longer feel sorry for myself having false teeth ~ I have a whole new smile! Nothing shy of a money hungry company. Went for a first visit and was told i needed all 4 wisdom teeth removed. Not knowing any better, I followed through. After paying 5 grand, $750/tooth (still not knowing any better) i learned that those are outrageous prices. Have the surgery done because i've already paid and had my credit pulled. Was given no after-care instruction or anything to clean my sockets out with so i had to figure everything out on my own. 4 weeks later i still have stitches stabbing the inside of my cheeks. read more

Have been dealing with billing, insurance and other issues for close to a year now. They take your money and give you a receipt for running the card, but no invoice of what you're paying for. They overcharged close to $800.00 because insurance paid and we also paid. It is the most horrible customer service experience I've ever had and unfortunately it's still not over. My husband and I travel full-time in an RV around the country. I found myself needing a root canal while we were in South Carolina. Dr. Andrews and the staff at the Simpsonville Aspen Dental were so easy to work with. They explained each step, explained the financial aspects, and were very friendly. Dr. Andrews and his assistant were very gentle while doing the root canal, and they were quick. From signing in to paying out, I was only there less than 2 hours. These people were awesome! I had a tooth crack Christmas Eve. I called another dentist that was open on my insurance plan the day after Christmas. I was turned away when I got to the office because they had overbooked. I got in my car crying in pain and frustration. I then called Aspen Dental and explained my situation. The lady on the phone gave an appointment the same day at a location near by. I went to Simpsonville and they were amazing. They removed the tooth and set me at ease. They took my insurance and did not rip me off. Dr. Dean was fantastic and I didn't feel a thing other than relief. I will be going back! So thankful for Aspen Dental's staff and Dr. Dean! read more

QUESTION EVERYTHING THEY PRESENT TO YOU! Not at all happy about the experience I encountered today at this place. When I originally called, I informed them that I would need an appoint. for a cleaning & that I would be a new patient. I also told them that my daughter was probably going to be a new patient as well but she had just had a cleaning somewhere else before the new year. I had changed insurance plans & didn't realize how limited I was going to be with options. They told me that I needed an appointment for a consultation, they would then decide on a treatment plan and schedule an appointment based on that outcome. That seemed very odd as no other dentist in my lifetime had ever handled a cleaning appointment in that fashion. My gut told me this was going to be a waste of time. Upon arrival, we were asked to fill out paperwork, provide my insurance card as well as our SS#. I told her that she wasn't getting my SS# because that's for tax purposes not doctor appointments. She was not happy with that response & had somewhat of a tude about it. Very shortly after completing the paperwork, we were brought in for x-rays. That was quick & the woman was very nice. Loved her. When x-rays were done she brought us to the exam room. Our appointment was for 3pm. Nobody else came to see us until I went out into the hallway at 4:30 and asked if someone had forgotten us. Minutes later they finally came in. They looked at my daughter for all of five minutes and only pointed out a broken seal. They took a bit more time with me because they wanted to do a periodontal review that of which was done extremely fast unlike my other dentist who was meticulous. I also went over that I have a chemical sensitivity which doesn't only pertain to chemicals specifically. The list is much broader but it's always much easier for people to grasp when explained that way. We did not want fluoride treatment. Got asked why not. etc. When the woman who came in to actually take the periodontal measurements, she began to explain what she was going to do. I simply let her know that I understood and knew what she was going to do because I have had it done before. She walked behind my head and my daughter said she gave a look of WTF to the other woman in the room. I saw my daughter's face when this happened so I knew something was up. THEN, another guy comes in and walks us to another room to review the "treatment plan" and costs involved. I felt like I was being escorted around to buy a car. My daughter's plan was a teeth cleaning and a sealant replacement. I had to remind them that she had already had a cleaning. They removed that charge and we were left with $20 for a sealant replacement. My charges, however, were much higher. They threw in electric tooth brush, $50 prescription toothpaste, $50 Cancer screening, full periodontal cleaning & maintenance charges. Hundreds of dollars and full of unnecessary items. That was outside of what my insurance was covering. I told him what he was going to remove and his reply was that he was going to go get the hygienist to get "permission" to remove the items I was questioning. So, she comes back into the room to now tell my why they need to stay. I reminded her that I have a chemical sensitivity never mind that I'm not paying $50 for a small tube of toothpaste. She wanted to see the list of things that I could not come in contact with due to my chemical sensitivity because they needed to have that on file. As if this was a debate. The guy wanted to write them all down. I told them they would be here a while & after I showed them the list, he said "no, I'm not writing all of that". They finally agreed to remove the items off of the "plan". The only appointments that they had were for August. I said to him, "there seemed to be a sense of urgency for me to have this treatment but yet we are scheduling this for August", and that just didn't make sense to me. They definitely did not like me questioning everything. I can absolutely see how someone who doesn't do that gets robbed. Mind you, I typically get a cleaning every year and I floss every day sometimes several times a day. I'm meticulous about my mouth cleaning. My other dentist never had any issues and at one visit did not understand why I come because my teeth are so clean. So, for this dentist to tell me I need all of this deep cleaning and then follow up appointments every 3 months seems to be a radical difference than what others have told me. I called my insurance company to alert them of my experience because they were ultimately going to pay in some part of this inflated bill they were presenting me with. The only other place that would be in network was the same franchise type establishment. I have to call to cancel in the morning because I would much rather pay out of pocket and go see someone trustworthy at my expense than to see a facility like this. I've learned my lesson and next enrollment I will be upgrading my insurance plan. read more

Well sorta mixed on the folks at this location. Staff very pleasant to work with. Dentist are professional. Billing is atrocious. Every time the amount owed is different when the last time we left no money owed and all was good. This has been going on for months. Had it all cleared up two weeks ago but now get a call wanting $40 or sending it to collections. Last straw!! If not resolved today we will seek legal actions against them for ruining our great credit records. Will update when resolved. Well all concerts have been resolved. They did what they said they would do. The folks at this location are great, appears there I was some communication issues with upper management. read more

Well that is a lie plate is neither comfortable or lite. I have been unable to eat for over 48 hours and tried to get an appointment and was told sorry we are booked. I have severe anxiety and when it comes to dentist, the anxiety is crippling. I had let my teeth go bad only because I would not dare go back into a dentist office. My mother persuaded me to get a check-up and I wound up at Aspen Dental on Simpsonville road in Greenville. The Staff was very welcoming, had great music playing, the office is very clean and neat and new. Everyone was smiling and answered any and all questions I had. They were also conscious of the anxiety I had coming in and took very good care of me. I definitely plan on coming back to get all my procedures done at this location. I rarely write reviews but this company is not a favorable dental practice! Initially my experience was decent until that dentist moved to Spartanburg. I found how they collected was a bit over the top, making it more seem like I was buying a car with the separate room and all! Then when I went in for a cleaning the next time, my first experience with the receptionist was "Hi, what's your name? That's $62." Just unprofessional. Then was our experience just yesterday. My husband stopped by on Saturday 5.14.16 to see when was the earliest he could get in with some tooth pain, but couldn't be seen until 5.23. But on May 16 we got a call that there was a cancellation and to come right in. He did so . . . only to wait up to two hours to see the doctor! Once seen, they said he would need to reschedule to come back! About this time my husband was quite agitated considering all that he had been put through. There was not even but one car there and it was quite evident they weren't even busy! He had the work done but, needless to say, we have moved on. I wouldn't waste your time here. read more

I absolutely hate going to the dentist, but sometimes its a must. This was the first time in my 40 years of life I can say "I enjoyed going to the dentist." I was greeted with smiles from the time I walked in until I left. I had my own monitor to look at to view ex-rays and see everything the dentist and hygienist were looking at. Everyone explained what I needed to have done and exactly how it would be done. They answered all my questions and eased my mind. Then the fun part came......With no dental insurance I was bracing myself for the final cost. (I just knew I would get a price that would be enough to feed a third world country.) I was told the cost along with the coupons and discounts offered to those that have to self pay, I was shocked!!!! In a good way!!!! I could actually afford everything. If all dentist were this reasonable I believe people would make oral care more of a priority. I'm so thankful I found this amazing group at Aspen Dental. When I first went in they were real nice, I told them I just wanted an upper dentures replaced and check pricing on lower partial. I was given an estimate for the top denture and some work around 4800. I told them again whaI wanted. They told me I could not purchase the bottom partial until I had the work done the quoted. I paid for my top denture in full. When I picked them up they said I owed 126.00 for the other half of my denture payment. I Told her I paid in full and 126 was not half of my denture, it was over 500. They took care of that. Two weeks after getting the denture. A tooth broke off. I was mad and told them the other two dentures I had last 12 yrs before a tooth broke off. Dr was not very nice and said well that happens. The fixed it, no charge. Well two weeks later I get a bill for $52. Their accounting is unreal! According to my insurance, they overcharged me . Can't deal with that until they reopen. But Sunday, another tooth came off! Had to go to Greenville and have that fixed and had to wait three hours. They were not rude but just not very friendly. Like hello, how can I help you, or I'm sorry you are having trouble. I have a year warranty but their money back warranty says 90 days. Can't wait to see how much of what me and the insurance paid that I will get back if I go for it. Went in for a simple extraction well they told me that i would have to have a xray which is fine. Then they said i would not be able to get it pulled that day which i had planned on it because i was in so much pain. Then she said that it would be 4320.00 i would have to pay out my pocket for extraction and then partial teeth which i didnt think i needed them but me being a patient i thought they would steer me correctly. I told her ill just go to another company in spartanburg who is more cheaper and faster. She then said oh no let me see somehow she got it down to 400.00. Well fast forward to 2 weeks they did the molding for the partial i was trying to tell the lady i was choking she said oh no your not. I start literally chokin because i was blocking my airway and so she finally looked and it was indeed blocking my airway. Then i came back to finally get the tooth pulled he pulls it. Then says oh it looks like you have another cavity next to that one we pulled. Im like are you serious so basically they say that its a cavity and that i have 10 more in my upper mouth which i only have 8 teeth in my upper mouth. Then i called them and told them i have a opening in the tooth beside the one they pulled and they stated that it was already there it was not i can rub my tongue over it and its on the inside of the mouth not the outside and i wouldve felt it before she said oh no it was on the xray and it would be another $298.00 i told her nevermind ill go to another company. They are rip offs and is not a place for people with insurance i have great insurance who pays 80% of my services but yet ive already paid 400.00 for some partials i didnt need they pushed it on me and scared me saying all my teeth will shift higher they shouldve worked on the one that i have came for then tried to do the other they wanted more money and i do not like this establishment at all. Worst dental company to ever have work performed. Always trying to sell you additional services. ALWAYS TRYING TO SELL PERIODONTAL CLEANING. I had a root canal performed and a year later still having issues but they told me that I had to get adjusted to the tooth. I went to dental specialist and found out the root canal was not completed and I had infection leaching out so bad it was coming out of my gums to the tooth next to it. I will never go to Aspen again. Remember they are corporate, just money to them not your well being also most of their dentist are fresh out of dental school or rejects from other practices. read more

I had an appointment with Aspen Dental today, May 24 at 6:15pm. I was sent an e-mail on May 13 confirming my appointment, which I confirmed. Today, I went into Aspen only to be told that their hours had changed a month ago, and I could not have my appointment. I was not called to change my appointment, only the e-mail confirming 6:15pm. I am a disabled veteran and I have to drive 20 miles round trip for nothing. I encourage all vets to boycott Aspen Dental until they hire competent staff and start caring about their patients. read more

Lovely office with pleasant staff. Offers free new customer exam and x rays. You are then sent to the Manager's office like a used car salesman goes to his manager. She had a $9000 plan which needed to be paid in advance but would possibly consider refund for services unused. Then I was told my insurance would only cover $377 of a $1500 benefit I should receive. I refused to sign her contract if my insurance wasn't working with them. The manager told me I could check another practice and they would be glad to send the xrays over. I went to a different office where charges would be half of what Aspen quoted. Aspen said they would send the x-rays over, didn't, then said it would take two weeks to get them. The new dentist did complimentary x-rays because of the situation. Today I received a $209.00 bill from Aspen for the free exam and x-rays that's advertised on their website and front window. Apparently they're taking liar lessons from higher officials who get away with it. read more

I do not normally write negative reviews but my visit to Aspen Dental Simpsonville was unprofessional and unkind to say the least. I needed to have a broken tooth removed. I did not have the funds to get a partial etc etc. I just needed a very painful broken tooth pulled. The entire finance disclosure process made my internal antenna alert to something not being quite right. They charged my insurance AND an additional $150 dollars to pull the tooth. But I was desperate having already taken time off of work to come two different times and could not start the process over with another dentist. The day of the procedure, a week later might I add, I had to prepay, then the dentist did not even greet me coming into the room nor offer a salutation when she left the room, her technician just handed me a bag with postop instructions and gause with the barest of verbal instruction. The front office staff, where I finally located the dentist so that I could thank her, were all apparently talking about me-WITH the dentist, whispering. And abruptly went silent as soon as they saw me standing there. C'mon people, we are not THAT stupid. And to top it all off, no stitch was put in for any portion of gum that borders other teeth around the broken one so now as this is healing, there is a section of gum that is not attaching properly and is actually flapping and may need to be repaired. The worst treatment I have ever received. If you have money to spend you will probably have a nicer visit. read more
