I had a positive experience with the dentist and staff overall. The doctor did excellent work, took the time to explain the procedure, and I was very satisfied with the quality of care. The receptionist was also friendly, courteous, and helpful throughout the process. My only concern was with the billing. I was initially quoted one fee, but I was later charged a different amount and then received an unexpected bill after I believed the balance had already been paid. The lack of clear communication regarding the final cost was disappointing and created unnecessary frustration. While I appreciate Dr. Nofar's excellent work, the quality of the dental care and the professionalism of the staff, I would encourage the office to improve transparency and consistency with treatment estimates and billing so patients are not surprised by additional charges. read more

People, stay away from Aspen Dental. I have had a 2 year miserable experience with them. Every visit, they will PRESSURE YOU HEAVILY to pre pay in advance for your next visit, its bizarre. They will email and text you 2-3 times before every appointment asking you to confirm, confirm, confirm your next visit. Its craziness. Last year, I had an appointment scheduled and received a text a day or two later to confirm that I am still coming in for my visit, I replied yes. A day before my visit, I received another text to confirm my appointment, I confirmed again for a 2nd time. The morning of my visit, I received a phone call from Aspen Dental to inform me that they cancelled my appointment. I had already taken the day off of work for this appointment. They told me that because I did not confirm my appointment again (3rd time, must have called when I was in the shower) they gave my time slot to somebody else. I have never ever been so disappointed in a professional service provider. Of course, I never set up another appointment and received a refund for the work that I pre-paid. I am getting a few cavities filled anesthesia bridge and an implant. The dr that is going the work is very professional and explains everything! I have been looking for a new dentist that wasn't scammy and my friend recommended aspen dental. I made an appointment online choosing "other/checkup". My appointment was scheduled for a Saturday at noon. Upon arrival the waiting room was filled and I noticed that this location closed at 1, which didn't give me hopes of getting out of here in a decent time. They called me back at 12:30 to take x rays. After that they sat me in the chair and said the Dr would be in shortly, I thought it was strange but waited. During this time I heard the workers walking around, swearing, laughing, etc. the dr was in the area next to me talking someone into a crown. After, the dr came in and after poking around suggested a few things and a cleaning. To which I said "yes, just the cleaning". He left saying someone would be in shortly. After a few minutes the front desk person came in and said she wanted to schedule my cleaning. Schedule!!?? What was I here for? She explains there is no hygienist here on the weekends (why let me schedule?) and that they don't work after 5 during the week. I explained I work and can't make it early but she didn't seem phased and booked me for 4:30. I just called to cancel because something feels off here. Seems they are more interested in the emergency crown customers, than actual appointments. There's better places to get dental care. read more

I wanted to say that I had my dental procedure done yesterday. There was almost no wait time - maybe 5 minutes. The oral surgeon was great. He and his assistant ls have fantastic bedside manners. Which I appreciated. When I left I only had to take 1 pain pill when the numbing wore off and no pain since then. They did a fantastic job, and my teeth look great, even though they are temporary. I can smile again, thank you. I will say again that this is a great office to get your dental work done. Everyone here is super knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. They even remember your name and address you by it. I am a senior, and at times, we are spoken to and treated condescendingly (sad to say, but true). That doesn't happen here, and I love the feeling of respect I get at this office. All my questions are answered satisfactorily. I am very disappointed in myself for being such a naïve person my whole life thinking that anybody in healthcare actually gives a fuck about your wellbeing. The manager tried to belittle me and make me feel like a crazy person. She wanted to make sure she had the power to kick me out when she allowed an assistant to place a permanent crown on my tooth, she continued to justify that she did not place a permanent crown, but she placed a temporary crown on my tooth. She made me feel very stupid and she would not believe me. I was confirmed by multiple ppl (in dental school) that A TEMP CROWN DOES NOT GET DRILLED INTO. She really really disappointed me when she would not take accountability for her actions. I was very naive and had to learn the hard way and didn't even think about how hard she tried to justify the "wrongful and illegal" action she allowed. I was also told by a friend in dental that a person can input the wrong codes into the report that goes to insurance . What she allowed was illegal and unethical. They really think cause I'm just some young woman, that probably doesn't care about her teeth will go this far right? But I have to put this out there cause I know that the energy to get my money will take time and patience I don't think is my responsibility to even do. But Please make sure that the doctor is present at all time. This situation occurred two years ago and I tried to get care for it then but was completely shut down by the entire front desk and I solely blame this manager. The call center made an appointment for me at the Sterling Heights Clinic. This place is a scam! My husband went there with a dental emergency and they ended up charging him for $1,100 for services never done. They work on commission so they want to sell you services that you do not need! We have called 4 times now to try to get our money refunded but they make excuse after excuse as to why they haven't returned the money yet. We are paying interest while we wait for them to refund the money to our account and yet they don't want to pay us back the interest charges either when it is for services that we're not done! My own dentist told me how they work on commission there and do not care about their patients as it's only about money. Operation of this office seemed very thorough and efficient and my subsequent tooth extractions went well so far. I was skeptical about the idea of a "chain" dentist office but at present I'm pleased. However, that said, if I have any complaint it's that I am in need of a great deal of work unfortunately and have no dental insurance. Even going the cheap route and cutting corners on my own care, the price tag for what is really the minimum of what I would consider acceptable results is $12,000. Yes, you read that right, $12,000. I have been through two years of hell; losing my spouse to cancer, my job and my home both as a result of my husband's illness. I have literally lived in my car for a year. I explained all this to then at Aspen and I found myself disappointed at the extremely detached "Oh well that sucks but this is the price" attitude I received in return. In regards to dental care, they seem very adequate when it comes to dental, but they seem to be severely lacking in the care part. But, I suppose that is as much a statement on the sorry state of our society in general as it is to Aspen. But still, you'd think they could have some sort of programs or policies in place for humanitarian work or sliding fees based upon ability to pay. In my case my family is going to cough up the $12,000. If I didn't have them I would have been sent away to suffer in pain and risk my health from infections or worse and Aspen would have let me go out without a care. In the end I have pretty mixed feelings but, if you have the cash or the insurance then they seem adequate with their professional services. read more

I looked for a new dentist and saw all the great reviews on Google.. If you are looking for a more accurate truthful review please refer to the Yelp reviews of this location (Wish I did). My 1st experience here was fine, Dr. Scott was really nice. So I decided to go back and get another problem tooth looked at. I had a 7:30 am appointment and arrived at 7:15 and signed in. There was only one other person waiting at that time. Another person walked in at 7:30. I watched the 1st man that was waiting get called back... I watched the guy that walked in 20 minutes after me get called back next. Frustrated, because I got there early, and not to mention.... not one person acknowledged me from 7:15 am to 8:00 am till I stood up and asked the front desk lady when I'm going to be seen... She said they only have one X-Ray tech and I had to wait... HERES THE KICKER... I said, "Well what about the guy that came in 20 minutes after me, I was here before him". She says, "It's our policy to take new patients before old patients". This is 100% percent true. I couldn't believe she said that too me. And let me remind you my 1st experience with this place was two weeks prior... I guess I'm old news at this point. I told her that I'd like her to have Dr. Scott call me which she said he was on vacation and she refused to let him know what a terrible experience I was having... then I told her to have the business manager call me who I met on my 1st visit (The business manager was very nice)... She rudely said she wouldn't get her because she was with a patient.. which was odd because I could see that one guy was with the dentist and the other guy was getting X-Rays, so I knew she was lying. So I told her make sure the business manger gives me a call today. And guess what I never received a call. If This review helps one person find a dentist office that doesn't treat them this way than I've done good. FYI- I have a family of 5 and we would have brought this office 20 + years of business. Let me start by saying I REALLY wanted to like this place. It was new, clean, and is in-network with my insurance. Since my insurance requires a primary caregiver I figured they would be perfect. So I called and scheduled a "cleaning and check up" appointment. Two weeks later, I arrived 15 minutes early to complete the new patient paperwork and was taken back fairly close to my appointment time. First it was x-rays. They did a full head scan, then a TON of digital individual x-rays. (The bite wing apparatus they used was huge and made me want to gag.) After the x-rays I was taken to what I thought would be to cleaning and exam room. I was told it would be a few minutes, and if definitely took a while before the hygienist came in. She poked around in my mouth and rambled off some numbers to the technician. I figured I was about to have my cleaning, but instead she just kept trying to sell me a power toothbrush. I decline a few times and was told to wait for the dentist. Eventually Dr Mike came in and seemed fairly nice. He looked over my teeth and complimented me on how nice they were. He also tried to sell me a power toothbrush, along with some possible caps for a chipped tooth I had. I politely declined. I was then told to follow a "financial consultant" her office. I stopped in her office and asked what about my cleaning? She told me they would schedule that for another time, but could still squeeze me in, but that I needed a "deep clean" on two of my teeth and would have to pay. My insurance 100% covers semi annual exams and cleaning. So she brought in the hygienist to convince me I need this extra service. (38 years old and I've never had an extra charge for a cleaning ) Now 1 1/2 hours into my visit and STILL without a cleaning, I was fed up and walked out. It was a total waste of my morning, all they want is to sell you unnecessary services, products, and run up your bill with multiple visits and uncovered items. Now I have to find a REAL dentist and not some dental chop shop for my family & I to visit. read more

I've never had such a horrible experience in my life. I called and made an appointment for a CLEANING I arrive early to fill out paper work. I get called back and the girl who is doing my x-rays tells me my cleaning will be done another day. What? Why wasn't I told that over the phone. Why do I need two appointments for one cleaning. I've always had X-rays and cleaning done same day. I have healthy teeth no issues mind you. So against my better judgement I said ok and she starts with the X-ray. The first X-ray bib she put on my was badly stained. Yuck! Then we go to the second room and she puts this heavy sharp device in my mouth at different angles to do the X-rays. They had no dental assistants to help the dentist and used their office staff with the procedure which shocked me. Very unprofessional. They over charged me and when asked about a refund for the services that were not completed I was told it could take up to 6 weeks for the refund. They had her prepay for the procedure and scheduled it for the following week. I drove an hour to get my mother to bring her to an early morning appointment (it takes 3 hours to resize dentures) to receive a text message 15 minutes prior saying they are closing their office early and have to reschedule. I called them an the girl who answered said she tried to call twice last night. They said they weren't closing just "have a problem with their denture lab". However, the phone never rang, there were no missed calls, no voicemail and no text message. When I explained to the girl that I drove over an hour and was upset to be informed 15 minutes before the appointment that they were canceling, she got an attitude with me and said "well I called you TWICE". The dentist (female) drilled on the stem of the tooth too much and it needed to be root canaled.Long story short I lost yet another front tooth due to bad dentistry. At first I loved this office. Dr. Cobb is the ONLY good thing about it. I felt welcomed by her and frankly she's the only dentist I've ever liked. The problem with this office however is the office staff and their lack of communication. The first few times this office got me on out of pocket funds. I'm insured by the top dental insurance company and they were very open that my coverage couldn't get better. I was excited about getting a new smile and working toward a treatment plan. I spoke with the office manager and came up with a plan, that with my insurance, would only cost me about $1500 out of pocket total. I was optimistic! Arrived at my first appointment in my treatment plan and was told I would need to pay $1300 after insurance, FOR THE FIRST VISIT! This eventually got resolved after my complaints and receipts I brought showing this is not what was communicated initially. We pushed through, however I ran into similar problems every visit I had. It seems as though they'll ask to see what they can get. If you refuse the real price comes out. Now for the big disappointment...I was scheduled to have my wisdom teeth removed. I was told nothing more then $400 out of pocket and then again reassured. I planned my work schedule, took 3 days off work, had the kids plans figured out etc. I get a call at 6pm the night before my wisdom teeth extraction. "Hello Matthew, I'm sorry to call you so late, the entire office was nervous to call you...however we misquoted the price and we will need you to pay an additional $1300 out of pocket tomorrow or we'll need to cancel your surgery." Obviously after the plans I had made to get this procedure done, I obliged. Here's the kicker, they pull out TWO fillings along with the widsom teeth they pulled out. My wife continues to call. They say that it happens sometimes and that I can come in on Friday to have the fillings replaced at no cost to me. Perfect! I take a half day off work, show up at the office for my replacement fillings. Call me up to the desk.."Sorry Matthew, the X-ray machine went down last night and you'll need to come back another day" I told them these are two fillings they filled already there shouldn't be another X-ray needed. "Nope sorry, we can't do that". They couldn't have just called me prior to the appointment and canceled it? I left the office and that was the last straw. I just wish I wouldn't have pumped so much money into a crappy office like this. I will NEVER return and if you're reading this I strongly recommend to move on to a smaller practice, that cares about it's patients time and money. This place is a cash cow for preying on insurance companies and selling folks a dream of fixing their smile. They're not in it for you, they're in it for cash.
