Went to them twice for tooth pain and was told I sprained my teeth on side and my sinus was effecting the other. Both times I never got treatment but was billed for X-rays. I felt was caught off guard that they didn't provide me with pain medicine, although I had explained I had a low tolerance for pain. They said legally they couldn't. I checked with both the Mich Dental Association which had listed info regarding the Dentists DEA on their website, and the Bureau of licensing in Lansing and found They had Lied to me. Later, they contacted my daughter saying they had suggested I take Advil/ Motrin, and Tylenol, after I told them numerous times I could take any NSAIDs as it gave me a stomach bleed a few years ago, requiring a 5L blood transfusion, which is documented in my chart. Q What could they improve? Their Ethics rules, and Integrity. My blood pressure went up to 160/100, although I had taken my BP med that day. I hope others will not go through this , perhaps they could take a look at "their policies and procedures. read more

I have been having horrendous mouth pain and finally decided I'd had enough and called to get in same day. They got me in right away. I have really bad anxiety due to ptsd so things that make me uncomfortable I tend to avoid ,, like the dentist. I really needed to take care of this pain though ! It turned out I needed some major work done. Dr ola stayed late to take care of me and her and her assistant, I think her name was Tiffany , were so very nice to me. If you have to go through dental work like a root canal and an extraction like I did I would recommend going to this office. I live super far away from there now but I had gone there some years back for a chipped front tooth and they were really nice then as well. So many times there is fear associated with dental visits. I know for me there has been in the past. Our daughter had an appointment to have wisdom teeth extracted. Once we arrived we did have to wait as another patient was ahead of us. However the minute we were brought back until we were out the door everyone we came in contact with so so nice and so professional. They explained the process of the anesthesia and how they would extract the teeth. My daughter was jumpy about the IV sedation. Amy, the anesthesiologist was excellent. In addition, the hygienist was comforting to her. Dr. Derek Grytzelius must have "magic hands". Our daughters recovery was remarkable. No swelling, no bruising and minimal pain. My husband and I were pleasantly happy with the outcome. I would recommend this Dr for any future procedures. read more

I previously loved going to this office back when I had my braces they did a wonderful job. However, now my doctor retired and there's some new leadership in place. They have lied to me about cavities that I confirmed with several other dentists and refused to share their x-rays. I'm shocked by the reviews I've been reading. I been going to Dr Neme for over 30 years! He joined Dr gershonowitz just under 30 years ago I think. I DO understand the disappointment of them becoming so large, multiple dentist, tons of hygienist etc etc. i usually see the same hygienist too. But I have had to work with different dentists and hygienists over the years. Everyone has ALWAYS been polite, nice and friendly. So I'm just not sure what to say about the other reviews. Horrible, expensive, don't take care of problems . Clean , X-ray exam , ok. Huge dental work...screwed. $32,000 of shabby work. Needed to be redone additionally to another dentist. Thick, ugly horse teeth crowns, root canals , infections which they denied. The patient was in pain, teeth falling and cracking, crumbling. They told him his pain was all in his head . Patient had to get another loan and redo all of it ... infections , bad dentistry. Don't waste your money there!!! read more

This dentist used to be a good place to go but they have gotten to big and forgot who there patients are. I just paid 4K last month for my sons Invisalign. Today while getting his teeth cleaned the doctor asked who did the Invisalign. I would think someone there might remember or at least have it in his chart. Unfortunately they already have my money. I left there today visibly upset and no one cared. The receptionist even asked if I was sure if I wanted to make his 6 month appointment. A very poor experience. This is coming from a patient of 10+ years who had my braces done here, regular cleanings and more. On my most recent visit Richard Friedman didn't seem to have 60 seconds to take a look at my retainer, I felt as if I was wasting his time even though I was interested in potentially buying a 1000 dollar new pair. My appointment was for questions about a slight bend in one of the wires of my retainer it would not hurt to take 2 seconds to look at and assess yet my retainer was not looked at, the dentist hurriedly answered a few questions and was gone within what seemed like 1 minute. I asked for the information sheet on new clear style retainers, but also that my retainer wire still had not actually been looked at and if it could be adjusted or looked at and the girl responded that they don't really work on "these style" retainers anymore. That would be totally fine by me, except they just offered to sell me a replacement hawley style retainer so it would seem like they do still work with hawley retainers. Furthermore when I called to express my dissatisfaction to the office manager Yvette, I was told now that it was a risk to work on a retainer they didn't make incase it breaks, which I didn't find too relevant because Brightside Dental did make my retainer and the reason now kept changing. Still this would be fine if the doctor showed 2 additional minutes of patience and communication, my satisfaction did not depend on if the wire could be fixed, rather the communication about it. Instead of offering any consideration or mediation to a life long customer the office manager just combatively agreed to deactivate my account. This is the amount of care I was given even after having been a patient for over a decade. Not to mention the incessant text reminders and voicemailing, and the time a doctor suggested I, a healthy young man get botox instead of address possible reasons for jaw pain. Sure some of the staff at the front desk or elsewhere may be nice and just doing their job may but everything that really matters, like seeing the dentist has gone much downhill for me recently. I called another orthodontist immediately who showed much more consideration and honest communication about whether a wire could be adjusted. I am not writing this review in hopes of seeking any compensation or gain, I'm simply writing this review to share my experience. Will not be returning. read more

Let's start by saying, I am extremely fearful when it comes to the dentist, so I thought my experience would be very comforting . Well it was up until we start talking price. So they talked to me about care credit and some other loan amount for a root Canal to save my tooth, said I was approved for a loan to get the work done but my down payment would be $486 which I did not have, I was beside myself, emotionally heartbroken because I did not want to lose my tooth and my other option was to get it pulled for $99.00, They gave me a chance to make a couple phone calls I called my husband and told him the situation, then I called my brother and told him he said I'll loan you the money and he came right over willing to pay the $486 so I can keep my tooth, then the young lady came in the room and said OK but now on top of the 486 they needed $300 and something more for another cost I said what are you kidding me, just go ahead and pull it. I was very distraught. During the extraction of the tooth I was scared feeling pain they gave me gas and numbing medicine, and they talk to you do you feel that, can you feel that , I said yes a couple times and they asked me was it pain or pressure I said pain, she gave me more gas and asked do I still feel pain or pressure once again I said pain and she said pain or pressure I said pain because I said what I was feeling she said well I gave you all the pain medicine I can give, and sort of side-eyed the assistant like I was being a bother to her, I just wanted them to finish and get out my mouth so I can get out of there because I was so upset, will I return yes if this tooth has a dry socket, but other than that, I doubt it I gave them 3 stars because the light-skinned black girl that did the x-rays was extremely comforting and nice. To the girl that gave me one price then another price shame on you next time you decide to do that to a person just be upfront from the start. read more

Sat in the chair waiting for 25 minutes for a hygienist and finally I asked what was going on. "Oh your hygienist is running late." People all around me being taken care of, but I don't get the decency of a heads up that I could be waiting more than a half hour for service. That and they let the sun blast at you through their window without the courtesy of lowering a blind...thanks for the migraine and terrible service Bright Side...time to find a reliable service provider. read more

The people hear are very nice but the dentist industry has gotten out of hand. I went in for a cleaning which only took about 15 minutes and when I checked out over 250.00 later I was in shock, they told me because I had x-rays and the Doctor came in and talked to me those were all extra charges. They should had told me that those were going to cost me more and on top of that I am missing 16 teeth so I paid the same price as someone who has all their teeth. I have a horrible tooth pain and need of some work a couple of root canals but one of them causing a lot of pain and i took a appointment I don't have insurance so I but I do make money and saved for stuff like this. so thinking its going to be like 600 dollars around which is still a lot then when it was all said and done, they said it was $2,900 for one tooth I needed 2 and a deep cleaning for $1,200 wow!! I cant believe it. Money hungry you think. And no one is excepting new patients for 6 months. But I still will not pay for what is supposed to be fair. Not recommended. I broke my tooth on a Saturday morning. They were able to get me in that day and everyone was very pleasant. But as I sat in the chair bemoaning my broken tooth, they tried to sell me on a bunch of other stuff. I needed a cleaning, I needed fillings redone, etc. . I really just needed the broken tooth fixed! I knew I was in trouble when I had to talk to the "finance lady". She gave me a long list of stuff that they said had to be done (all the while she's telling me it may not have to be done but they won't know until they start looking. .) and wanted a hefty sum before they started it. Something didn't feel right. I left without having the work done. I won't get into the Xrays.. I'm not sure if the tech was new or what but she probably took 20 Xrays. If I see an additional nose growing on my face I'll know why. I ended up going to Drakeshire Dental a few days later and had a great experience. read more

They will lie to you and steal your money. Said my insurance would cover this much and I only owe around $150. Next thing I know I get a $600+ bill in the mail just for 3 tooth extractions. My wife wanted permanent implants. No problem they said. Had to get a loan and find out about 6-7 months later they are only porcelain caps and not permanent at all. We found out when my wife was eating and one popped out. Dentist said he would fix it this time even though the warrantee was up. Permanent....Hahaha. Next dentist said (not at Bright Side) said those would only last maybe 5 yrs or so and would need to be replaced. They cost me $1600 for two of them after insurance. This place is a total joke and I hope no one else has to deal with their lies. I only post this because we are 2.5 yrs in and guess what??? Yep, another tooth popped out. I will never go there again nor will they ever see a dime of mine. Good luck to you if you do go. Just don't fall for their lies and deceit. read more

I moved back to MI and would like to share a fantastic dental business that is accepting new patients (me) I had a nice hygienist give me a great cleaning named Cherie. What's was amazing is besides having my new patient exam I needed my night bite splint replaced and for the first time in over 20 years I did not have to experience the uncomfortable goop, impression, mold process. The new 3D image technology made the process so easy and nice surprise, cannot wait to receive the new bite splint and retainer. The office takes advantage of new technology along with proven procedures and regimens. Highly recommend this established business. This office is very pleasant and orderly. In fact, the hygienist are on time, they are thorough and knowledgeable. I love how convenient it is to get in for cleanings. The dentists will come in for emergencies on weekends, which is very helpful. However, at the end of a cleaning, they always bring in a "manager" for the hard sell. They tell you things that need to be done on your teeth (pointing out the critical issues), provide you a very large quote, offer you "free" financing and tell you they are available to do it right now if you wish. They have been offering to fix a "critical" issue on my one molar for the last 5 years. Be careful, not everything they say is critical really is, and always price compare! Their prices for the major items have been more expensive than with other dentists - pretty much every time we've had major work done. Plus, once you are in their system, they will begin an aggressive call campaign every six months to schedule your cleanings. They'll keep calling until they speak with a human, and they'll place a separate call for every member of your family. If you don't like unsolicited sales calls, you'll want to opt out of their "helpful" multiple call campaign. Hey, they're only looking for your dental health, right? They also offer Botox consultations after your cleaning as well. Interesting. read more

I loathe going to the dentist, but sometimes ya just gotta go. This place is close to my house so I have been an occasional patient for teeth cleaning and necessary dental work. One thing I could never stand about them is their overbearing way of calling constantly if you go over six months between cleaning. I have asked them, told them and demanded they stop calling me with their high-pressure tactics, but then they still call again. I did end up scheduling a teeth cleaning after waiting too long (I know, I know...but I hate the dentist!) so today was my appointment. I was disappointed and concerned by their supposed COVID precautions. They seem to have put some procedures in place that they think are compliant, and then completely disregard other safety precautions. No hand sanitizer at the front desk, no mask-wearing by the receptionist, and gloved techs touching things that go in your mouth and then touching computers, X-ray machines and drawer handles, and then coming back to your mouth. They also hand you a pen on a string to sign your credit card receipt, which I'm sure is not cleaned after each patient touches it. Again at the check out desk, no hand sanitizer! I did ask at the reception desk and at check out for hand sanitizer, which seemed to surprise the receptionist and check out chick. They each produced a bottle and both times wrangled the tip under the opening of the plexiglass screen, but not to hand it to me...but instead both times to dispense a single pump into my hand. Sooo odd and kind of rude. Also, if you have a tender mouth, don't let Tammy the hygienist near you for a cleaning. She's a beast. After leaving this review I will probs be looking for a new dentist, but if I did end up ever going back I will be asking specifically NOT to have Tammy clean my teeth. read more

I called Bright Side Dental on Saturday, October 25th. I was not a current patient, and I had not been to the dentist in three years. I had hoped to set up a future appointment to get some x-rays taken, and later get my wisdom teeth extracted. To my surprise, the very kind woman on the other end of the phone said that they could take care of me that day! I showed up to their office, and they took care of me very promptly. They did a full set of x-rays, filled in some cavities, and took care of the two wisdom teeth that were bothering me. In the process of taking care of a few years of dental neglect, the specialists that I worked with were nothing but kind, caring, and professional. They clearly foreshadowed the process and all costs associated with the procedures that I was having done. My dentist, Dr. Solt, was very tactful. I came out of the procedure with a lot less soreness and swelling than I expected. I had an earlier experience with a previous wisdom tooth extraction that was extremely painful during and after the procedure, and this was nothing like that! Dr. Solt was surprisingly gentle when removing my upper set of wisdom teeth. Due to this, I was left with very little swelling and soreness. I had absolutely no problem heading into work Monday, and for that I am very grateful. Did I mention that the staff stayed an hour and a half late to finish taking care of me? I felt that this action said a lot about their commitment to client service. To close, I was very impressed with the high level of service that was provided to me at Bright Side. They have definitely earned my business, and I will certainly be recommending them to my friends and family. I sadly managed to forget the names of two of the wonderful people who I worked with, so I will be adding them to this at a later time. read more

Having no dental care as a child left me with challenging dental issues as an adult. I am lucky to have what I have left in my mouth. Brightside Dental has done an amazing job keeping my dental health in check and are always there for me. Recently a tooth snapped off and just could not be saved. Of course, this happens just minutes before the office was closing. A quick call to the office and the Dr. agreed to stay after hours to help me. Dr. Bedikian and his assistant, Olga, took the best care of me and worked until the problem was taken care of which entailed pulling the root out and putting in an implant. We didn't leave the office till almost 8pm. That is amazing health care by professionals who really do care about their patients. I couldn't be more grateful! Thank you dental team!!!! I brought my 6 yr old here for the first time and I have to say from beginning to end the experience was amazing. The girls in the front reception were very nice. The dental hygienist was so sweet to my kid and worked very well cleaning her teeth. The assistant made my daughter comfortable while taking X-rays. She did call me back because my daughter started to cry. Which I kind of figured she would. But while looking in at how everyone worked I was impressed. They made sure my daughter had enough goodies after her visit and the Dr was very nice and assuring. I was worried about a filling my daughter had done just last month when I wasn't with her at the mobile dentist at school. He checked to make sure her tooth was okay, which it was. The lovely ladies at the check out window were very helpful as well. I really love this place and since I need a new dentist as well, I'm definitely going to recommend this location. First visit I had them check my insurance. I was told I was in network and wouldn't be billed. I was billed of course. So found another dentist. My insurance changed so I went back. Scheduled an appt for cleaning and to repair chipped tooth. I was told could do both at same appt. After x rays, I waited almost 30 minutes for the Hygentist. Cleaning literally took 5 minutes. Was waiting to get my tooth fixed and I was told they couldn't do it today. I had to schedule another appt. I said 3 times that I was told on the phone you could do both. The girl literally avoided the question and didn't answer me. On my way out I saw 2 dentists sitting in their offices. I'm sure one of them could've fixed my tooth. Will find another dentist. They're too big. Too commercial. You're just a number, not a patient. read more

The absolutely worst place to get braces. They do not accommodate at all or inform you. The orthodontist only works one day a week at a location (other locations aren't nearby). He only works from 1-5 on that one day. If you can't in, they don't care!! My son has Invisalign and it has been the worst experience. Tried changing orthodontists but it is difficult with insurance and Brightside Dental doesn't help at all. I would really recommend asking questions but good luck holding them accountable. My daughter had her braces for over 5 years for an overbite. Ridiculous. read more
