My overall experience here has been positive. The dentists and hygienists are knowledgeable, and innovative dental practices and procedures are utilized. My biggest issue with this office is their lack of time management. Most appointments start 20-30 minutes late, and following dental services they bring you to a waiting room instead of checking you out immediately, which could waste another 20-30 minutes. 5 stars for the healthcare providers & 2 stars for the administrative staff. read more

First vist was good, after that not so much. Went for a cracked tooth, and was told i needed to have 5 removed a week before my honeymoon. then the front desk called me 4 times over the course of 6 days a week and a half before the appointment to reschedule the same post op appointment they already rescheduled. Which was made by them 3 months prior.Hygienist was very nice, knowledgeable and professional but dentist doesnt seem to care about the patient or there time. Find somewhere else. read more

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. They do not listen to you, and all they want to tell you is "we need to do an exam". An exam is NOT needed to add a tooth onto a partial that broke off. This is honestly just a bunch of bull. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars in this office. All root canals and crowns failed, EVERY SINGLE ONE, so after spending THOUSANDS on that work, I then had to pay a whole bunch more money to get them extracted. Now that a tooth has broken off the partial, you think I need an exam..? This makes NO sense. Your exams are an x-ray and the dentist looking in my mouth. At no time is a partial in someone's mouth when an x-ray is done, so please explain to me why you think I need to pay $159 for an exam..? Save yourself the trouble and go to a dentist that actually cares about their patients and punctuality. I had a Saturday appointment for 9am for a tooth whitening. I confirmed the appointment multiple times prior to the visit by phone from calls from the office staff days before the visit. Saturday arrives and I show up to the appointment for 8:40am and I do not get taken into care until 10am. I ask for a discount for my Thoth whitening because of the insanely long wait time and end up speaking to the office manager who tells me there is nothing they can do. I end up just getting a refund and leaving. Long story short I will be taking my future business elsewhere and no longer be a patient of aspen dental in Torrington ct. I have had cleanings and fillings done at this location before and every time I go they never take me on time for my scheduled appointment time it's always atleast 45-1hr after. all they care about is money. they push you into signing a ridiculously high quote and then expect you to pay in full before work is started. in my case the treatment plans said i could save my teeth. then they can't save them. of course i was upset. i have been ban from all aspen dentals. i told them i was done with them as i was leaving. they took things to the next level by sending me a letter saying i was ban. can't wait for my appt next week with a real dentist read more

Went there for the first time yesterday because of horrible mouth pain. Everyone one from the first person I saw was welcoming and professional I had a great deal of anxiety and frankly an awful diagnosis but I left there feeling good about everyone I came in contact with. They were gentle, kind and compassionate and not once did they shame me for not going to the dentist before it got this bad. read more

The revolving door of hygienists, dentists and office staff make for an inconsistent experience at best. As a regular patient I had the worst experience with the dentist (who I found out later was the owner of the practice) who was putting on two crowns for me. The two temporary crowns she put on came off or cracked more than four times causing me to have to go back each time for reapplication. On the fifth time the office told me that they couldn't accommodate me and that I would have wait until the next week. I had to endure a hypersensitive, ground-down tooth and was unable to eat any solid or hot /cold food for a week. The dentist didn't even have the decency to apologize and accept responsibility for this clearly unprofessional action. I was warned about Aspen Dental, I should have listened! read more

I went to aspen because I broke my tooth, they didnt affer to get me out of pain, they just put a lot of charges on a quote for dental work and expected me to pay it all. I just needed my tooth fixed. I went somewhere else the next day, and they fixed my tooth for me. Also the torrington location only has a specialist once a month. That is it good for me. read more

I had a lot of work done at the beginning of 2020. I paid for the services , per the payment plan we established. Prior to my last visit , I paid $1400 at the door (for lack of a better expression) prior to my last procedure. At the end of the day , I had paid $5900. A year later I wanted yo go for my cleaning , and I made an appointment online. The next morning I get a call saying I'm not allowed at the office , as I was unhappy with my work. Which I found odd , as I was very happy with my procedure. I later received a letter saying I was no longer welcome to any aspen dental , because I was unhappy with my service and they wrote off my prior account. Insinuating I neglected to pay. So I called and no one was able to explain this "written off" account. I had a great experience with the previous office manager and owner , this new office manager clearly needs a class of admin work. Maybe financials also. Too bad , I like the office , they just don't know how to handle the financial side. Looking at the few reviews here , they apparently had issues before. The owner had to jump on and Wei tree her own reviews to put weigh the bad ones. Check out the owner on the website and then look at the reviews. Maybe she should take a hint lol. read more

Oblivious to pain and discomfort of patient Self-verified patient of Dr. Tarek Korban - Posted on October 27th, 2018 In September 2018 Dr Korban was treating a slew of patients overscheduled/ shoehorned in at the Aspen Dental office in Torrington, CT one day per month. His last appt was at 10:30am and the escort in from the waiting room was nearly an hour after that. Not a big deal. Korban's demeanor was brusque, he was the expert who was going to fix the screwups of the Aspen treating dentist. Of course, he charged a $135 added fee for a "consultation"before picking up an instrument. What followed was the most horrendous and painful session of oral surgery in my life. Every educated patient knows that there are techniques of injecting anesthetic into a patient so the least discomfort follows. Korban apparently had neither the time nor the patience to treat in such a manner. He slammed multiple injections in and injected contents with the speed that any professional knows causes gruesome and unnecessary pain to patients. Korban was cold about it, apparently uncaring about the torture he was causing. He carelessly chatted about a social meeting with his assistant who spoke in heavily accented English that was unintelligible. It seemed apparent to me, being reduced to tears and shuddering for the first time in a dentist's office, that Korban's only priority was to speed through an assembly line of overbooked patients. Following this agony caused by Korban's carelessness, he refused to prescribe anything more than Ibuprofen, an over the counter medication. It was necessary, in the condition I was in, to bring in my treating dentist to argue/ negotiate with Korban to get a prescription for ten Tylenol 3 pills. My experience was nightmarish and a chilling reflection on this dentist. I think his style would perhaps be at home in a prison or refugee camp. read more

I really enjoy this location. I've been going here for over 2 years and haven't had a bad experience. The staff, dentist and dental hygienists are all really friendly even though sometimes there is a turnover and you will have a different dentist or hygienist. The manager is very helpful and nice as well and goes over pricing and payment with you. The only negative is I usually have to wait over 20-30 minutes after my scheduled appointment for them to come get me since they are usually running behind. I usually do late afternoon appointments though and sometimes appointments start running late by then so book a morning appointment if possible. read more

I never enjoy saying anything bad about anyone, but in my opinion, this place deserves to have a bad review posted about them so others can be steered away and hopefully toward a better dentist office. Before I start with the negative, I do feel like I at least have to say that the hygienist, and who ever the x-ray technician is (if they are still there) are beyond awesome. They were very professional, explained everything perfectly to me when I had a question, did their jobs to 100% of their abilities, and explained what was going on in depth even when I didn't ask any questions. That's about where the positive things end though... 1st negative---I had not been to the dentist in a couple years before I came for my first visit at Aspen, the first visit consisting of some paperwork, x-rays/gum health evaluation, and then get this... a meeting with the MANAGER who is not even a certified dentist to my knowledge, instead of meeting with a licensed/certified/actual dentist about what my x-rays found wrong with my mouth. That is very unprofessional... either the manager decided to set up the treatment plan on her own (which she would have no knowledge on what is the most important things to get done first unless she is a licensed dentist), or the dentist and the manager talked and decided on a treatment plan without me even being present to listen, or for them to listen to my opinion which is extremely rude and untrustworthy (they are my teeth right??). Did not even ask my opinion on it... But being desperate for dental work, I didn't even think about how unprofessional that was at the time. 2nd negative--- After the manager, not the dentist, explained the work I needed done, she automatically wanted to talk cost. A business wanting to talk about price and payment is perfectly understandable, the problem here is I was convinced to take out a credit card/ loan called CareCredit, and paid upfront for the work I needed done. TERRIBLE IDEA... NEVER DO THIS, NEVER PAY BEFORE THE WORK IS DONE. I thought everything was fine until a few months later when I checked in with my insurance company about the claims Aspen put through, and they gave me completely different costs of the procedures done on my teeth than what Aspen told me. Aspen told me all of the procedures were more expensive than what they told the insurance company, ultimately leading me to believe they were trying to make extra money off me by having me pay more out of pocket than it actually cost (even after getting paid by Aetna...greety huh?). Aetna had covered a boat load more than what Aspen told me was covered, so the $3000 I paid out of pocket should have been a significantly smaller amount. When I asked the manager and the lady who works the front desk why I paid so much out of pocket and why they told me different prices than what they billed Aetna for, they were both extremely rude, beat around the bush with their answers, and told me I was not understanding the paperwork (even though I fully understood after talking with my insurance company). I feel robbed and unless I want a make a huge deal out of it, I'm positive Aspen ripped me off and is going to get away with it. 3rd negative--- A few of the procedures that I was clearly overcharged for, failed very quickly after having them. Four of the teeth I had filled had problems very soon after I got them filled (the new problems being worse than the ones I came in with originally). My very back molar is now extremely discolored and rotted and most likely is going to get root canaled either because the dentist did not fill it right, or it needed more work in the first place and didn't get it. My other molar was drilled in the completely wrong place!!! I explained to the dentist I could feel the cavity on my tooth along the gum line, along with it being completely visible, and she drilled out the bottom of my molar instead. WTF right??? Since the cavity was not taken care of properly I am now sure I need a root canal in that tooth also, and if not a root canal, a lot of work which should have been done in the first place considering I paid for it upfront!!!! The other couple teeth also got worse than they were because apparently the cavity wasn't drilled out properly. Theres more I can say, but since this is so long already I will leave it at this. Remember, DONT PAY UPFRONT! DONT USE THE CARECREDIT LOAN! SERIOUSLY DONT DO IT! If they overcharge you like they did to me, they will find a way to make it look like they did your moneys worth either by overcharging like they did for me, or by doing work that doesn't need to be done. This place is more worried about the money than their customers by a long shot. Untrustworthy, and unprofessional... not the kind of people you want doing things to your mouth that are irreversible. I regret it. And again cause I cant say it enough because of how mad I am at my situation... they will rob you of your money and not think twice about doing it so watch out. read more

Stay away! These people do not care for their patients. If you have less than perfect teeth they cop an attitude. A very unsympathetic attitude. As if the only cause of bad teeth is poor dental hygiene. They WILL NOT treat for pain. If you ask them to treat your pain they treat you like you are a drug addict. They butchered the surgical procedure badly. Then refused to address it. They practice fraudulent business when billing. I recently went to Aspen Dental for the removal of all 4 wisdom teeth. My initial experience with the receptionist and the lady who took my xrays was good, they were both very friendly. No one had any problem taking my $1200. However, when I returned on the day of my surgery I was not handled with any kind of respect or compassion. I went under completely for the surgery and though there weren't any complications I also was not put at ease at all. The male nurse said "your nervous? why you will be asleep". Wow very comforting. I was awoken after my surgery and walked, not wheeled in a wheel chair to a "recovery" room where I had to wait for my prescriptions; which had to be re-written because I told them I couldn't take a certain pain pill. I was not verbalized any after care directions, just handed some gauze and paperwork I was too out of it to read. This experience was very scary for me without the terrible treatment I received. Next time I need oral surgery, which is hopefully never, I will pay twice as much at a private office. read more
