Nobody likes to go to the dentist and I am no exception but at least this one was less painful. I had an infected tooth and was seen within an hour of calling them. The dentist did something to help the pain right away. I have good dental insurance but was still surprised at how fast I was helped. I plan on doing all my dental there from now on. They have new dentist there so if you went there two or more years ago it has changed for the better. This was the most painless root canal I have ever had. read more

I initially went to aspen dental at concord road, York, pa to have a rear lower tooth pain looked at to see why I was having the pain. They guided me to their wonderful cheap 30 dollar exam that encompasses a full mouth dental x-rays and a comprehensive detailed list of all the work I would need to have done to have a nice smile I guess. After hearing the doctor tell me the tooth I was having pain in requires a root canal, I agreed to have this work done. I also reluctantly agreed to a full cleaning. I go back in for the cleaning where I found out I will be paying for the x-rays of my full mouth that I didn't ask for to begin with but was tricked into thinking that was what the no risk 30 dollar initial fee was for? So withhout having insurance, I paid 1300+ to have my teeth cleaned. Then I go back in to get the root canal done, then while sitting in the chair being prepped, the dentist asks me why am I here, and why do I think I need a root canal?! She taps on my teeth and does some kind of cold test, then states I need to come see her at a another office to have more testing done to figure out which tooth is causing my pain??!! This cost me another 300 dollars which they kept out of the 1860 that I pre paid before the non procedure! I am going to attempt to retrieve my paid for X-rays and take them to a professional dentist. I may have to wait a while since I just went through 1600 dollars and still have a painful tooth ache. read more

The worst dental office I have ever been to. The only reason I'd even allow 1 star is because I can't do 0 stars, but the oral surgeon and receptionist are nice. Everyone else not so much, especially the dentist Dr. Williams. My fiancé has extreme dental anxiety and a very bad gag reflex. His first language is also not English, though he is fluent he still gets confused. With that being said our first visit when the assistant asked his birthday, he paused, which she responded with "you have to think about it?" And not in a joking tone, more annoyed. The rest of that appointment was okay, with Dr. Williams being very monotoned and didn't seem to care too much about my fiancé's appointment. When my fiancé came home one day after his fillings, he was CRYING. He said that his gag reflex was pretty bad during the appointment, and he gagged twice at the end which made Dr. Williams put down his tools and said "we are done here". He didn't say anything else to my fiancé and left. He felt very disrespected and upset. Next thing you know, two days later his fillings FELL OUT. At that point we made an appointment with my dentist to get a second opinion on some things as we were not happy with the work that was done at Aspen. My dentist took a few pictures and pointed out that aspen left some jagged pieces of filling, and my fiancés tooth is not smooth anymore? We did end up going back to aspen to fix his fillings and the other issues that my dentist pointed out, but ultimately they only refilled the filling, and again Dr. Williams left the room without speaking to us and left that to his assistant. Not only that but they didn't give my fiancé sunglasses until after blinding him with their light (that is being held on by tape mind you), and they also do not test your numbness before starting their procedures as they had to redo my fiancés anesthesia because it HURT HIM. He was not numb even though we sat for 30 minutes waiting for them to come back and start. He also cried about this appointment due to being in pain and Williams being rude. After seeing all the terrible reviews about him, I wonder how he is still holding a job. That's just terrible letting your customers continue to go through this because of that horrible doctor. Literally would give 0 stars if I could. My appointment was at 11, waited till 11:30 till I was called back to get x rays, got my x rays, then waited almost another hour in the room until someone finally came. It was only a checkup and all they did was read my x rays and sent me home, not even a cleaning. I understand maybe they're short staffed but if you're so short staffed you have people waiting almost two hours, with an appointment, you need to just close. I could get in and out of the ER faster than an appointment here. Absolutely insane, people have things to do. read more

Aspen over charged me by $500.00 on one of my visits. Took some time to get a refund. My appointment on 11-11-2025 I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment. I explained to the front desk that I wanted a standard cleaning because my insurance covers that 100%. I was told I could not step down on my cleaning. The cleaning I was getting Aspen charged my insurance higher and me 150.00. I told them I would seek service at another dentist. The front desk told me that was fine. Attempted to call the manager but he/she would not take my call. Filed a complaint with the mail office but I do not think that will matter. Somehow I thought I was the customer. I had an outstanding bill (which was a billing error from them) and they told me if I took care of it all would be good. I had a dental emergency and paid it and made the appointment. They refused to see me at the appointment because they couldn't clear the balance in their computer system despite the fact that I had a receipt for payment and even had their finance department call and speak to the manager. Manager could not even be bothered to come out and speak with me. There was zero compassion or other solutions offered. They can't keep up with the patients they currently have; they should not be accepting new patients! Even seeing the 1.5 star reviews, I tried to give them a chance but, I understand the accuracy of these ratings more now! Don't expect a quick visit! Over 2 hours there for 6 minutes of X-rays, 4 minutes for a hygienist inspection, and 4 minutes with the dentist. It took an hour and 20 minutes after my appointment time for the dentist to even acknowledge me, though he walked by many times. No greetings, no apology for overbooking/other appts running late, nada. This review is just to give a warning to other considering Aspen. I am 57 years old and this have been the worst place I have experienced with customer service in any capacity. My appointment was canceled at the last minute. Rescheduled and missed by agency so I had to sit and wait for 2 hrs. Their response was we can't help that there automated system doubled booked. When I finally got my dentures five minutes after leaving the teeth fell out. Mind you I was not eating anything. Follow up appts i have to wait 45 min to be seen. Horrible costumer service!! I am truck driver and I had an emergency. I was coming to Harrisburg, PA and I remember about Aspen Dental. I never used before, but I really need the service. I called Wednesday and scheduled an appointment to Friday, September 1st at 4pm. I received an email conforming my appointment. Great. When the day and time came, I need to run 30 miles to reach the location and for my surprise - CLOSED!! No email, no message, no call to say something. This is a really unprofessional place. Aspen Dental destroyed my teeth, drilled 13 holes that WERE NOT NECESSARY and the dentist literally STOPPED the whole ordeal with my teeth drilled and not filled to go out and smoke a cigarette!! I only know that's what he did because of the horrific gagging I had to try and contain while he worked on me and his hands smelled straight like an ash tray. He didn't wash his hands clearly but like why couldn't you just wait...? My Novocain wore off due to his unprofessional and dirty behavior, and when I tried to tell him, he told me he was almost done and there was nothing he could do.... I didn't know it yet then, but that visit forever changed my life just a couple years ago. I now at 28 years old, am waiting on surgery to get all of my bottom teeth removed for a denture fitting. I got my top ones done when I was just 22 years old. The embarrassment, the insecurities, the damage nobody talks about, it's a lot behind the "complaints" I was so traumatized and embarrassed I never went back to ANY dentist. I didn't trust them. So due to few other factors, I'm now 28 with none of my own teeth.. that's not a fun time. Just look this place up online, the groups of HUNDREDS and THOUSANDS of people negatively affected by this chain of butchers is heartbreaking. The lawsuits are insane, but so necessary. Dr Williams was kind, courteous, professional, competent and considerate. Unfortunately, you can't reserve an appointment to remain specifically under his care. The Aspen Dental facility located on Kenneth Road, York, PA is exactly the opposite in all regards. The website is inaccurate and of no use for making appointments, the booking staff are unprofessional and unmotivated and the receptionist/front desk staff surly and unprofessional. Three emails, two texts and provided proof of insurance again once in the office before they were able to get it in their system properly. A receptionist who couldn't be bothered to sit up in her chair and take her eyes of her cellphone to explain that their computers were down and didn't I read the (hand-written in Sharpie, taped at the top of the entrance door well above my head) sign before coming in? It costs me time and money due to missed work every appointment as I discover what they aren't prepared to do on that visit, which requires an un-forecasted follow-on visit. Took my lower dentures 2 weeks ago to make adjustments have not seen them since, talked to office manager 2 days ago and was told she would check on why I didn't get a call back. Was also told that they were my temporary dentures and my permeate will not be ready for 5 to 6 months. Was not told that up front. If I was told this up front I would have looked for another dentist. For the amount of money they are charging me,there service sucks.. I am tired of being lied to. Would never recommend them. Do I have to give it ANY stars?? I made an appointment with this practice as it is the in-network for my Medicare Advantage health plan. Making the appointment was easy, however, once I arrived (early!), it became a disaster. It took 15 minutes to be acknowledged, then it took another half hour to be taken back for x rays. Once in the exam room I'm seen by the dentist and then the hygienist. Both of them were very nice and seemed knowledgeable. But then I found out this was just a consultation! No work was done and I had to come back. Once I made the next appointment and paid a $364 deposit, I had been for over 3 hours! When I came back for the next appointment I was told the appointment was for the previous day! Even after sharing the confirmation voice mail I received which stated I was there on the correct day, I was told there was no appointment but I was welcome to wait. I refused and then told them I wouldn't be back and I wanted a refund. That was two weeks ago and I am still waiting. I am being told that there was a total IT shit down and they are working on fixing it. I also called their customer service line and got the same answer. TERRIBLE!! Only go here if you enjoy pain and aggravation. I really wish I would have read all the review ahead of time. Hopefully my horror story will keep someone else from having the same nightmare. They decided I needed 2 crowns. Had a crown prep that left me two weeks in terrible pain. The dentist left his incompetent assistance put the temporary crown on that gapped in both the front and the back leaving the root of my tooth exposed. The crown came in 2 weeks late. Then when it did come in it was the wrong color. When the assistant pulled out the temporary filling, she cut a huge gash in my lip. The doctor came in and saw it and just laughed about it. So then they put the wrong-colored crown on temporarily until the right one could be made. This crown was placed wrong, it's huge and I couldn't even close my teeth all the way. My teeth didn't even touch on one side. Fast forward two weeks...the new crown comes in but they can't give me an appointment for ANOTHER week...now the temporary crown popped off but they can't get me in for another day to out the crown in...SO Im left with a nub of a tooth with the root totally exposed, in pain, and there's nothing I can do about it. My visit was last year before Covid existed. The best part of my visit was leaving the clinic. I was surprised to be honest because my first visit was amazing. Initially, I went to Aspen because I had a severe tooth abscess. I was e X-ray ed and examined within an hour. They couldn't extract the tooth that day because this clinic does not have a dentist who does extractions in the clinic. They go from clinic to clinic so if you need an emergency extraction, don't expect it to happen the same day. However, I was given a prescription for pain medication and antibiotics. But I had to wait a week to get the infected tooth taken out. My next visit was the months later. All I needed was a dental clearance to get a total shoulder replacement surgery. Aspen first of all never notified me that the clinic I went to the months ago, had moved to a new location. So I went to the building I went to before, saw the notice on the door and by the time that I arrived at the new clinic, I was late for my appointment and was considered a walk in. Next, instead of looking at my X-rays from just the months ago, they led me to the X-ray area. When I realized what they were about to do I told them I didn't need new X-rays. All I needed was a central clearance for surgery. They had the complete exam from my last visit, all they needed to do was check my mouth. If there were changes then off course I would've agreed to more X-rays. When I refused X-rays before being examined they got an attitude. I have good dental insurance but I was going to have them do unnecessary procedures when it wasn't warranted just so they could charge my insurance company. more. As it turned out, nothing had changed so those X-rays weren't necessary when my previous X-rays were still sufficient. I wanted to give Aspen a good review but in all honesty, they're a franchise. They advertise that they handle emergencies but the truth is, they have someone in the clinic on staff to do x-rays and assessments. The general dentist on staff, can do assessments and write prescriptions but anything invasive like tooth extractions require oral surgeons and Aspen doesn't keep one in their clinics. I truly don't believe they're concerned about saving you money so you, the patient, must be proactive. I won't be returning nor would I recommend Aspen to anyone. read more

I never write reviews but this is one I had to do. I called aspen on Monday and had two teeth that were causing me agony. Throbbing pain that was relentless. I was informed how much I was going to LOVE this office and they are going to help me and relieve my pain. I was not able to see a dentist because of covid. So for over 3 months I suffered trying to hold onto my teeth. Friday came and I was met at the door by a young man who told me( with sas) that you don't come to the door we come get you. Even though we are in the green in York County. I was not met with friendliness or compassion. I was escorted to the hallway where I was told to wait. They took 15 minutes to do x rays and I was seated in the chair and informed the dentist would just be a moment. I waited from start to finish an hour and 15 mins. The dentist came in walked right past me no intro just looked at my xrays and started dictation to his nurse. He then looked at my teeth and asked me a few questions and that was it. I was then met by a financial consultant who informed me that even with dental insurance it was going to cost me over 8 thousand dollars to replace 2 teeth. I needed 7 teeth replaced. 28000 dollars to fix my teeth. While I realize that most cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance the two teeth that were causing me so much pain were not fix or pulled or repaired. Bottom line it's a business where you have to take out a loan to get help. Don't look for help from aspen dental because you won't get it. The York location is ridiculous. They tell you one thing on the phone when scheduling an appointment then tell you another the day you come into your appointment. They don't accept most insurances. Very few do they actually accept. My mother has had to pay a significant amount of money for her services since other offices don't accept her insurance. This is why we chose Aspen Dental. But what a bust when we find out that they ALSO don't accept her insurance! "No surprises" they say? Yea right. When I scheduled my app they said they'd take my insurance. I sat in the chair. Got x-rays taken. Then the SAME lady comes into the room and says I'm sorry but we don't accept this insurance. I said "you told me on the phone they did." "I'm sorry they just told me they don't." Are you kidding me right now? They said I had to pay over $1000 for a cavity to be filled. I decided to go to a whole other dentist! They never sent over my x-rays to the new dentist office. Best part about this office was the nice lady at the front desk. Less then enthusiastic tech who did xrays looked at me and said, "I'm not even going to ask if you're pregnant". My response, "I look that old?" Nice, huh? Then, being placed in a chair in a room with a dusty, dirty, old oxygen tank, old dirty gum stuck to the floor and suspect blood smear on the base of the chair, I sat there for 25 minutes without anyone checking in with me. This company is money hungry. My insurance covered 100% of what I needed done so I was shocked when they said I needed to pay $450 before they could schedule cleaning and filings. I called back the next day to ask and the front desk told me it was because the dentist wanted me to have an advanced cleaning and some additional things done for my fillings. I said can't I just have done a basic cleaning and skip the extra work so I'm not charge almost $500 out of pocket. She said nope. Once the dentist makes a plan they can't change it... what kind of bullshit is that. I said ok I will just go somewhere else.
