I can't say I've had a bad experience here! Staff is polite and very welcoming. Reception calls to remind you of your appointments, very flexible with scheduling if you must cancel, and even puts you on a call back list if you're looking for an earlier appointment. Every time I visit, my hygienist/dentist is personable and carries a good conversation with me. I've always felt comfortable and every service has been explained clearly to me. Everything room seems very clean and well maintained, even their restroom! My insurance referred me to this office.For both appointments my service started 30 mins after the scheduled time and staff don't have adequate chair-side etiquette.The dentist & hygienist rushed through the service.I had concerns with the mouthwash and the dentist said there's a lot of them you can just try another one. read more

Their reception staff want to give attitude, then cry when they get it right back. christofer eline, the dentist, was helpful with answering most of my questions. He does make one feel rushed though. Even though the reception lady tried telling me he doesnt make people feel rushed. Bish what. You cant tell me how I felt. LMAO The technician talks to you like you are a child. You are not allowed to express previous experiences if you want to be a client here. I quickly expressed about 2 recent experiences other places (about another dentist who did not meet par either), to let them know what it is I WAS looking for in a dentist. Dr David is no longer there, if referring to the previous dentist. This new dentist.... Oh boy Takes X-rays but does not look at them or he would have seen the split root in a molar. The oral surgeon pointed this out. He says nothing. I asked a few times if he could fix a tooth that obviously had decay at gum line...his fav saying is,..oh that's just stained. And low and behold I lost that tooth. I will never be going back. I've had family members tell me their experience was awful. But right now I am speaking for myself. I hope he starts treating patients as they should be treated and at least shows an ounce of care and listening to the patient's concerns. Maybe pick up a dental tool and look at my other teeth that need addressed instead of throwing (not literally) a referral which is so outdated the oral surgeons are getting upset they keep getting called about care and they keep saying we do not accept your insurance. More than one on the list. I really hope he can get his act together and at least PRETEND to care. Prayers to the ones who use him. read more

I been going to west side Dental for a while now but I noticed after they cleaned my teeth there was crusty on the tools and looked very unsanitary. They also do not clean your teeth very good. Horrible! My husband had to cancel an appointment due to an emergency and on the phone they told him he may not be able to be a patient due to the cancellation with only a few hours notice. Okay, I guess I can understand that. But a few weeks later when I showed up for my appointment they told me I was removed from the schedule because when this happens the entire family account is cancelled, but never bothered to call us with that information so they basically cancelled on me with 10 minutes notice... Nice! Glad I had my mother travel 3 hours to watch our son for this appointment. At least my husband called to let you know he couldn't make, it would have been nice to receive the same the courtesy, but I guess professionalism and decency aren't required skills to work at West Side Dental. Disappointed right from the start. I called this office for the first time in Oct. 2017. Based on the reviews I thought it would be a good place to go. A guy answered my call and at first seemed to be nice, but that quickly changed. For some reason he thought it was a good idea to call me "Hon." Okay, hon and sure hon and what time hon. I found he's behavior to be VERY unprofessional and inappropriate for the workplace. He could of very easily used my name or he could have referred to me as Miss. WARNING: Dr. David Uhrik is no longer there. (retired). We will miss him for all of his merits. We have gone there for about 8 years now and it's time to find somewhere else. He kept the practice culture such that everyone was friendly and helpful, but his odd charm and unusual calm was the reason I entrusted all 5 of my children to his care. It is different now. Completely. We. are. GONE. The new dentist is just not the same and the front desk people have turned over significantly. The receptionist we encountered doesn't understand the concept of customer service and her telephone manner was HORRIBLE. Let's face it, the receptionists are the face of your organization. If you have a nasty one, then you can just about guarantee people will leave. We will be searching for a new place. It is tempting to name, but I don't do that sort of thing. Avoid it. read more

I had one of the best dental experiences! They call prior to confirm my appointment. I went in last week for my cleaning, it was a good experience and very thorough. The Dr. and team are very welcoming and friendly, everyone there has a great humor and today I went in for my wisdom teeth extraction. I've always been afraid to have the procedure done but after today's experience, I have no idea what I was afraid of. The Dr. was very informative, explaining the whole process prior to the procedure, ensuring I was comfortable by talking and keeping me laughing throughout the whole process. They sent me home with proper care items and ensured I understood the home care afterwards and always made sure to ask if I had any questions. Everything with this dental office was great/wonderful/easy, until the dentist sold his business (without notifying patients) and the new dentist moved in. The covid-19 pandemic certainly didn't help, and it is the WORST time for a child to get an abscessed tooth. My son needed to be seen and have the tooth removed. Because they TOLD him what they were going to do, he panicked and became fearful. The dentist didn't want to deal with him and referred us to a pediatric dentist, sending an antibiotic prescription. Okay, fine. That's when it all went downhill for our family. First, the pharmacist chased me down before I left the pharmacy to let me know that the DENTIST gave the WRONG dosage of the antibiotic and if she didn't catch it my son could have an overdose. She took a week of calling him to try and get it corrected, and he never returned her phone calls. Second, due to the pandemic, the pediatric dentists that take our insurance were either closed or refused to see new patients. So I called West Side Dental back and let them know what was happening and that he needed to be seen by him right away, and that he needed to refill the antibiotic. The doctor refused to treat my son, told me to see a pediatric dentist, even though there are none available at this time. He then said he would resend the antibiotic. My entire family has been seeing this dental office and now we are leaving. I am offended that this man refuses to treat my child because he is scared. This is a serious dental issue that can cause a multitude of problems, and he will not help us. If I were you, I would consider a different office. The previous dentist was kind, gentle, and respectful. This new guy is short, rude, and inconsiderate. If I could give negative stars, I would. UPDATE: I finally found my son a pediatric dentist after a month-long search and guess what! LOL They notified me that the West Side Dental Dentist was going to pull the WRONG TOOTH. Not only did he prescribe a dangerous amount of a medication, was incredibly rude and disrespectful, but he also was going to pull the wrong tooth. FIND A DIFFERENT DENTIST. read more

I've always been satisfied with my treatment here. The first and most notable thing is the friendliest of the staff. The nurses usually engage in conversation with you and the dentist often jokes around. It makes it a welcoming if not enjoyable experience. I also like that they call a few days in advance to confirm (or with my terrible memory remind me) of your appointment. Just got back from my first appt here, and I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Due to the pandemic neither my son or I have had access to dental care since last year (he was last seen before we moved to PA), and when some fillings on his back molars came out I was in a bit of a rush to have him seen as a new patient. Had a truly horrific experience with a different practice so I wasn't sure what to expect, but Westside Dental fit me in same day, gave me answers, and a direct referral to a specialist who, again, fit my son in within 24 hours. I'm extremely dental phobic given that I spent most of childhood in heavy-duty military dentist braces & have very weak enamel, so it's very important to me that my kid feel safe and know what to expect in regards to his health. After he was seen I immediately booked an appt for myself for a cleaning, and look forwards to continuing to receive quality care now that the emergency has been resolved. read more

Just received a phone call from the receptionist cancelling my new patient appointment for tomorrow. I made this appointment over 2 months ago and had to take the full day off because I live in PA and commute for work in MD...they call me at 3 p.m. today to cancel my appointment for tomorrow at 12:20..I thought well OK ill take a different time then...no way they can do that the lady said..the earliest they can rescheduled me isn't until May 31st????...Needless to say i went with this office basing it on the reviews I saw online and it was rated 4 to 5 stars. DO NOT GO BY THE REVIEWS!!!!...not to mention prior to this they had mentioned I may need x-rays at my appointment my insurance only allows x-rays every 2 years unless its bite wings...I contacted my other dentist and the receptionist at Westside asked me to have my old dentist send my x-rays so they had them by my first appointment... I call to confirm receipt of the x-rays with Westside dental and left a message on their General voicemail and never received a call back. I Still don't know if they ever received them. I asked the lady who called to confirm my appointment on Monday if she could have Amy call me to confirm she got them because if she didn't I would call and make sure they were there prior to me arriving tomorrow... and they never did tell me if they got them or not..oh well..not a very good impression at all...I will not be calling to reschedule and my boyfriend will be cancelling his appointment in June as well... I will be going back to my old dentist in MD..What a shame to think it was more convenient to get a new dentist here and feel comfortable about it...you have been warned..Stay away! read more

I went today for an appointment with my son everything went great until he said he had cavities and needed them filled. I replied that I wasn't sure that would work since my son has anxiety - we may need to go somewhere else for fillings. He changed totally - told me I was reflecting my fears on my son - which at this point my son was no longer in room - and if I say it can't work it won't. I went on to explain my son had anxiety and panic disorder and is in therapy and on medicine - he then told me not to discuss his medical concerns with him - he told me I was trespassing and to get out - I said I wasn't trespassing had an appt - went to counter where you go to check out and he told me to leave again I said I had to get a school slip - he said then get out. I asked secretary for his name and the address (which I could get easily on my own I realize) and I was denied that information - he even told the lady behind counter - don't talk to her you do t work for her you work for me. and he had other lady call 911 and the other assistant start taping me with her phone. Which I'm sure they will not want to show anyone cause it shows me being very calm. I also called 911 and was talking to them during this taping and refusal to give me info. He kept telling me to leave cause I was being disruptive - I asked 911 operator if she heard him she replied yes and then I told her they were using phone to video tape me and asked her what I should do - she got a supervisor and asked them they said under circumstances to wait in car for police officer - I left and did that. I don't know what the problem was - the fact that my son is diagnosed with anxiety/panic disorder or the fact I was going to take him somewhere else for fillings or the fact that he thought I was making my son anxious all I know is his switch was flipped and he was horrible. I've never ever experienced something like this - it's actually bizarre. My son fortunately had his older brother that could take him to waiting area but this was a very traumatic experience - no one deserves to have to deal with this utter disrespect and ignorance. I would like to mention they did not ask me for updated info - it's been 2-3 yrs since we've been to him . As far as I'm concerned a dentist should want to know and should know the medical issues a child has he is treating I've never complained about anyone before but this was ridiculous. The staff which is always nice turned on me as well - which in their defense that's their job I get it but oh my goodness if that's how he acts when confronted with something he doesn't agree or like or want to deal with - I guess watch out read more
