There are some who care, but the majority know it is hard to get help and it shows in their attitude. Most of the nurses feel it is beneath them to help a resident get to the bathroom, and since there are not enough aides, you could wait 40 minutes for help. If you have someone there, it is important to be there with them for the majority of the day, or they will not be helped. The staff is overworked and resentful. My husband was there for 12 weeks and by the end he was begging me to get him out of there.

No one should Have to wait two hours for a pain pill or have to argue with staff to get their medications. No one attempted to engage my Dad in activities and left him In bed most of the time unless my sister or I was there to get him up. There were frequent mistakes with food orders and many times staff didn't know where to Find orders for the food or the wrong food, which my Father wouldn't eat, would be brought to him. We were only invited to one treatment team, and my sister and I have DPOAHC. My father was seen by physician at admission, but not while there after that. NP was contacted for orders, but didn't have physical contact with my Father. We were the advocates for our Father. We worry about those who don't have advocates. It was a pretty facility but we don't feel it warranted the 5 star quality service indicated by others.

My mother spent 7 days here after receiving a poor diagnosis from the Flower Hospital palliative…read morecare doctor. The nurse liaison was also way off base. They insisted our mother would be best served in this facility. LESS than 12 hours later we were told by the nurses and social worker that our mother didn't belong here and we needed to find someone else immediately. This was less than 24 hours after receiving a terminal diagnosis. The care was horrible. They made her defecate in her Depends because "it was too difficult" to move her. They confined her to her bed and refused to let her even sit in a chair for the same reason. My mother weighs 150 pounds. We were told my mother bit someone and was constantly agitated. This is after 24 hours of asking them to provide the proper medications for her because "they couldn't get hold of them". The clinical director later said she absolutely did not bite anyone. They ruined her chances of getting into a hospice nursing home because of the biting report and keeping her on Haldol to keep her sleepy and compliant. They they told us the doctor was taking her off of inpatient hospice and we would need her to begin paying $270 a day to keep her there. The nurses were rude and brusque. They literally laughed in my mother's face when she asked for something that didn't make sense because of her dementia. This was one of the worst experiences of our lives. My three sisters and I couldn't wait to get my mother out of this facility. It made us sick to watch how she was cared for. The building may look nice but it's rotten to its core.

This is the best format for senior living. Each house holds just 10 residents in 10 bedrooms, split between 2 hallways on either side of a central common area with dining space, living area, and an enormous kitchen where staff prepares meals and residents may use space, also. Each bedroom is private with en suite bathroom equipped with a walk in shower. Facility provides twin bed, sitting chair, side table, and dresser. There is space to personalize as well. We plan to add 2 sitting chairs for guests and a larger dresser. There is a large closet, between 5-6' wide. Laundry is done on a schedule and not mixed so chance if items missing is very low. Nurse is available, aids are assigned on shifts and are very capable and friendly. The center publishes activity calendar including social outings and shopping trips. There is a hair salon and manicures and pedicures can be scheduled.

I have worked at the facility for almost 3-1/2 years, and to say that I enjoy coming to work everyday is an understatement. When you have co-workers that are always there to help, lend a hand, someone to confide in, and treat you like a part of your family, it makes coming to work enjoyable. The best part of my job is the wonderful families that come through our doors. We get to understand all of the great times they have had together with all of the close interaction we have with them. It doesn't take long when we feel like part of their family. I interact with as many residents as possible everyday. I love listening to stories about the "good old days", their families, holidays, etc. I cannot say enough about Perrysburg Commons. A place where work doesn't seem like work, and you feel like you are a part of family.....

If you are unfamiliar with hospital food you may want to reconsider your preconceived notions. These whipped potatoes are very similar to mashed potatoes in that may have originated as a potato and serve delightfully as a no frills substitute, trust me you will wish you had more or something else. The Pot roast is very consistently cooked and brown and serves a a fat free protein that complements the whipped potatoes. With a bit a brown gravy you will have a beautiful rainbow of earth tones for your taste buds. To continue with our brown theme and also saving the best for last, I suggest dipping a chocolate chip cookie into the what has now become soft serve ice cream, it will soften up the cookie and create something like an MRE ice cream sandwich. Smith.and stated it was in my recent emergency care prior visit to verify my summary and the attention wasn't given and then when I mentioned to Megan her disposition was unprofessional, rude and truly bias and I wouldn't go their late night and expect to get the same care as in the daytime.... that's why nursing homes get bad reputations... being evil just because some people are evil and they like to exploit others weaknesses, so they work were there are vulnerable victims that they can prey upon. Beware they are out there and this lady is one of them. Learn from my horrible experience and don't have one yourself here . When we know better... We do better... Heed the warning be cautious!!!
