I initially contacted another moving company for an interstate move from San Diego to Las Vegas. The bid came in very high, and I was told by that company that there were "additional fees" for interstate moves, making the price much higher than expected. Then, just 3 days before my scheduled move, that company called and tried to more than double the price!  leaving me in a total panic. I reached out to 5 STAR Moving Company, and the owner, Craig , responded immediately. He was furious when I told him my story. He calmed me down right away with his happy demeanor and reassuring words that they would take care of the move at a fraction of the quoted price. All was true. Not only did they accommodate me on such short notice, but they were also transparent, professional, and fair with their pricing--no surprise fees! The crew arrived right on time, very happy to be there and eager to start. They handled my belongings with care, and made a stressful move almost seamless. They did take care of all the loading and unloading. The move started around 7:15 a.m. and finished at approximately 3:30 p.m., and the total cost was just over $1,000. During the move, there was also a period when I was waiting for the truck to arrive at the new house. When I called, I was told the crew had stopped for lunch. While everyone deserves a lunch break, it was something I wasn't expecting during a move billed by the hour. The biggest issue was that one of my Restoration Hardware metal consoles was damaged. The metal mesh was bent during the move. I reported the damage within a couple of hours after the crew left. Unfortunately, I was told that because I had signed the paperwork at the end of the move, they would not provide compensation. My advice to anyone using this company is to take your time before signing the final paperwork. No matter how eager everyone is to finish the move, inspect every room and every piece of furniture carefully before signing. If you discover damage after you've signed, you may have difficulty resolving the issue. Based on my personal experience, I would not use Warren's Moving again. While the crew completed the physical move, I was disappointed by how my damage claim was handled, and that experience is the reason I cannot recommend the company.

Later they text us they were in an accident and had no clue when they could get a truck to us with another set of movers. This was our only day to move. Our lease ended the next day. So we booked another moving company last minute and let 911 movers know. They were very understanding and offered a refund of our deposit. This was January 25th. Needed a little "extra" assistance with driving truck from U-Haul and procuring enough furniture blankets to protect furniture...and they stepped up and provided the help I needed...even though I only hired them to load the U-Haul I rented. You can see his wife struggling and this job was only my bedroom (bed frame, 2 nightstands, 2 dressers, mirror , electrical bed frame) this took him from 10:35-2:30pm. The owner claimed it was because of the electrical bed frame that took him longer, which is BS. So if you have electrical bed frame you better mention it. This shouldn't have double the price at all. He's a scammer! He needs to hire adequate people for this type of job , not his wife. I am very upset with the price. I recommend to get another company or compare prices.

We had a truck load of Furniture along with items (storage bins) that when we first moved were to heavy for us to take upstairs. They handled all my items with care - carefully taking heavy furniture & storage bins up to my second floor. Robert & Alex (movers) I can't thank enough - Very Friendly - dressed nicely (this makes you feel confident that they care about themselves and your stuff) The nice thing about UMS is that they don't over charge and they're so easy to work with. Ok! As individuals move ok towards something new, let's try a POD!…read more Now the pod is here at the house! You load it, and they come and get it! The verdict is still out. Your whole life, all that has defined you will be in this POD! We are trusting others to move it and store it. Many individuals that we have known have used, we are in the process. Now they bring the pod to you! It was electrical unloaded and they kept the noise level to a minimum. We live in a community where noise is truly not allowed. It can get you a little fine . Moving or not you need the serenity to not disturb others . The noise level was not bad. They dropped the pod at around 7 am! We had that pod loaded in a couple days. Then the company will return in a scheduled time to pick it up. You get a free month of storage starting when the pod arrives for you to load it. The adventure of our pod will arrive in a storage facility in Louisville, Kentucky. Then we will schedule the last phase of the pod and unload it. The concept is simple! Your whole life plan should be easy. They have made moving easy truly . Until we arrive in Kentucky and we will update the plans for when it arrives and we unload and start anew.

Nobody answers calls, so, we assumed they were too busy and we scheduled online... two days later it keeps on asking to confirm even after we confirmed so many times. Finally we received the container! What a difference, the driver was on time, cordial, friendly and all together professional, he even moved the container to one side so we could still park next to it. If it wasn't for the driver I would have given them one single star. His name isTy, In a week we'll need another container. Yes, we'll call them again, but at the first sign of trouble I'll cancel everything. I can't add grief to a busy move.

One Star - A Nightmare Experience with Capitol North American Moving Company…read more If I could give Capitol North American Moving Company zero stars, I would. Our move from Las Vegas to North Carolina was nothing short of a disaster, and I can't stress enough how painful and frustrating the entire process was. Despite having an in-person estimate done months before our move, things quickly spiraled out of control. The movers took over 12 hours to pack our belongings, but the truck they brought was already packed with little room left and it was clear from the start that everything wouldn't fit. Still, they shoehorned everything forcefully in that little space and interestingly packed our essentials and fragile items like mattresses, box springs, and electronics on the outside of the truck, while our patio furniture and more durable items went inside. Unsurprisingly, some of our furniture was damaged due to their poor packing. The real nightmare started after the move. Our stuff left Vegas on May 28, and was supposed to arrive by June 13, but it turned out that most of our "overflow" items never even left the warehouse. I was forced to deal with a nightmare of emails and phone calls to find out what happened. The customer service was shockingly unhelpful and indifferent. They told me this was just part of the experience and that it happens all the time. Absolutely shameless! To be fair, there was a glimmer of hope when Mr. Dan Rude, the General Manager of the Las Vegas branch, stepped in. He tracked down our missing items, found out they had been sent to another state, and even sent us a check as a gesture of goodwill. He advised us to submit a claim for the missing essentials and the $150-a-day penalty. But when I followed his advice, my claim was denied. They initially said there was no process for submission, but after escalating to Dan Rude, they reluctantly allowed it--only to deny it anyway. In summary, Capitol North American Moving Company is a nightmare to deal with. From their disorganized packing and poor handling of items to their appalling customer service and claim denial, this company has failed on every level. Save yourself the stress and avoid them at all costs.
