Ugh! I was hopeful, but this really was not my greatest moving experience. I am a repeat client to First Choice Moving too and I have used them once before and have written a review as such. Jody in the office was kind & friendly in scheduling my move, which I did about two weeks in advance. I asked for the first slot of the day. I was given an 8-9AM window of arrival. I had used First Choice Moving before and felt confident in simply using them again. I did not even get another bid. The crew that showed up did a great job in working very quickly and handling my items with care...when they showed up at 1PM. My 2 star rating is simply a reflection of the customer service fail that occurred in the five hour window between 8AM to 1PM. Being advised once over a phone call that I myself made a little past 9AM that "the crew is cleaning out their truck" to a 1PM arrival, this is the disappointment. I called them, they did not call me at 9AM. I realize that life happens and often things run late, but I think I felt like I would have appreciated a more honest, real answer like...."our crew has not shown up" or "we had a overscheduling issue and we needed to move your window of time," but none of this happened. What if I had a child care issue (which I did not) or had to go to work (which I did not) or a plane to catch (which I actually did). For $1000+ service, I simply want to be kept in the know and have my time valued a bit more. I would not allow a dentist, a cable guy, an A/C repair or a car service to run 5 hours behind, so I don't accept it in this situation either. So although I am cannot say I would not recommend First Choice Moving for they are batting 50% for me based on personal experience, time is money and my time is very valuable. A few quick facts before I go into details: Our move was a HALF MILE down the street. We only had about 8 large pieces of furniture(no appliances or anything like that). It took from around 2pm-9pm to complete. Regrettably, this is the second time we used his company. The first time was ok and I pretty much chose to use them the second time as it was convenient. When I asked if they honored a military discount, I was told ONLY if we give a 5 star review. Charming! The second time, they started around 2pm (appt set for noon, so extremely late). Not only did it take 7 hours to get moved fully, my furniture and new home was destroyed in the process. I've moved several times in my life with the military and this is undoubtedly the most stressful and traumatic move I've endured thus far. We've given First Choice 3 weeks to contact us regarding the damage claim made, but they have failed to respond. I've called around 6 times and emailed three. I'm really unsure of what the status is, as they're avoiding any communication regarding the damage they caused. I highly recommend that if you use this company, you have a lawyer on hand. I've actually used these guys twice. Once for a household move and once for an estate clean up. Both times they were fast and efficient. In just a few hours they did more than we could have done in an entire day. Not only are the guys efficient, but they are courteous and friendly. What: professional movers. We moved from a one story to a two story in Henderson one mile away. Service: Jessica was super healthful and professional on the phone an they offered a 10% off Yelp discount. Bryan, Ramiro and Gustavo were so polite and professional. We've hired a lot of movers in the past and this is the first time I can say I was TRULY pleased with my movers. They were super careful, wrapped our stuff so well and were very conscientious about turning corners etc. so as not to bump walls, ceilings, etc. I also appreciated that their equipment and truck were in new/great condition and not all tore up and dirty. These guys were all hard working and and each one was pulling an equal load. Price: with discount was $153/per hour for 3 guys and a truck which included blankets and wrap and tools for disassembling beds. The norm is 2 guys but we've moved a lot and know it's best to have 3 guys on the job. It took about 4.5 hours. This time I had a 1800 sq ft house and moved into a 3000+ sq ft house and it took the TWO guys more than 1 trip and 4+ hours and I had less stuff from my previous move... makes no sense. They took multiple smoke breaks and got caught talking multiple times. Oh can't help but say they damaged a few walls in my new house. To say that I'm frustrated would be an understatement. The biggest annoyance is that a piece of our furniture never made it off the truck. I specifically remember seeing them load it up (a dresser mirror) since they put it on last. I've texted Luis, the manager, multiple times and though originally he was responsive and said he'd check with the crew, now it's been days and multiple calls/texts and I'm not getting any responses. Also, hardware from several pieces of furniture that they disassembled is missing. And they were slow. At $179 per hour I was hoping they'd pick up the pace a tad instead of standing around wondering how to disassemble a bed. They arrived hours after I was told they would, took long breaks (which they told me would be taken off the final bill but wasn't, and one guy spent like 30 min in the bathroom). Our move took 6 hours, even though everything from the house aside from beds and dressers was packed in the living room. And they scuffed up paint everywhere. Here are the slew of problems I experienced: 1) They showed up in a small truck and shoved 3 bedrooms of furniture in there and left the rest. Foolish me...I was open to First Choice because they called me right back after my Yelp quote request. However, that is all they are good at is answering the phone. My move was a 2 bedroom apartment on a 3rd story walk up to a 2 story home. Bear in mind my major furniture was just a queen bed, couch, 4 person dining table, tv and stand, desk furniture. I had moved into this 3rd story walk up by Warren's Homework about a year prior and it took the 2 hours flat, it took these guys with all personal items packed almost 7.5 hours to pack the truck and three hours to move in, sloppily. I was charged 11 hours and $1475 for a two-bedroom move, with everything packed by me. My move was only 20 minutes away, but it took the movers 1.5 hours to get to my location, my assistant notified me when they were on their way to my new home and had wondered why it was taking so long, since I was paying $139/hr. We had no idea why it took so long...first to pack the truck, second to get to my new home, and third why they forgot things in the truck and just left it outside my front door without telling me or ringing my doorbell. I found out, that one of the two employees had an injury and was sent home. They gave me one hour back for that, but really, it was atleast two hours before a second person showed up to help. However, I had paid for it. I called SEVERAL times (atleast 7 times) to discuss the excessive time needed to move me...everytime the phone was answered professionally and seemingly genuinely, with a promise of a followup call that never happened...not once or ever. I gave them 7 times to make it right, but none has been successful. So I feel the need to warn you, if a two bedroom apartment cost me $1475 + the 2% credit card fee to move, then what will it cost you? read more

Denali movers helped me move this weekend. I have a very heavy, very cumbersome tempurpedic mattress, and lots of delicate computer equipment. Their team of three men took great care of my belongings. Some movers rush through the process and leave lots of nicks and dings along the way. Some move like molasses and milk the hourly rate. Denali movers completed the move as quickly, and safely, as possible. In the Vegas heat, you need the help. Their rate is reasonable and their people are quality. This was only the second time I've ever used movers and I was very nervous because movers have such a bad rap. I booked through Starving Students. Hector & Rick arrived during our scheduled window. They were very friendly & professional. They busted their butts in this Vegas heat. They were complete monsters carrying our heavy furniture up & down the stairs. They only took one small break during the 4 hours they packed the truck. Then they took a short break in between houses. Again they busted their butts to get our stuff unloaded. It did end up being more expensive than we expected but I think the only thing that could've helped that is if there had been an extra guy or if we weren't moving during the summer because the heat is definitely a factor. Overall, First Choice did a great job. On the plus side: Robert and Deaude worked extremely hard for almost 11 hours straight and were very nice and professional. We also switched the moving day twice and the FC office was extremely accommodating. Negatives: The quote I got from Luis was around 4- 5 hours with a two man crew. And while I understand this was based on square footage and not a visual inspection and there was a lot of stuff to move, it wound up being more than double that and we probably should've used a 3 man crew that would've saved some time and money. Overall, I'm happy with the service and the movers. I'd recommend them with the caveat that if you have a lot of boxes in addition to the furniture, you might want to opt for a three man crew. read more

Terrible - they never gave me any compensation for breaking my dining room table marble top - I begged the guys to stop as one of the movers said he needed a few mins because he was exhausted but the lead guy said you're fine next thing the guy dropped his end - the original cost was 5,000 for table top and frame. Seemed to start off ok....but totally blew the end game. In a nutshell...talked to Luis about what I had to move and was quoted a 4-5 hour move, and it was recommended I get a 3 man crew to save time and money. I agreed and we set the move up for Friday 7/21/17. 3 nice guys arrived and I showed them around. They said there was no way this was a 4-5 hour move. They said closer to 7. This move turned out to be 9 hours. Yes...NINE! They also had to make 2 trips. Thankfully the new house is about a mile form the old house! After the move was over, I started noticing damage to items. Almost all the damage was to items moved during the 2nd trip. I called First Choice Movers on Sunday, 7/23/17 and spoke to Justin. He apologized and said he wished all customers were as kind as me. He said after the movers arrived, the option of a 2nd truck and an additional mover should have been provided. This would no doubt have saved me time from that 9 hour and $1500+ bill. As you can imagine this was not the most pleasant news to hear. No offer for even a small credit to my bill was made for that error. Justin also said he would talk to Luis about the damaged items and contact me shortly. It's been 3 weeks since my move and no return phone call. I have damaged items in my home which still need repair and a desk the movers put together so poorly that it wound up falling apart in the end. This was the last item the movers put together right before heading out the door. They used 2 screws out of the 12 required. It is worth noting that if you pay with cash or check, you avoid a 3.5% processing fee. I was planning to do so, but by the time the exhausting day was over, I couldn't find my checkbook. This was as painless as moving can be. I moved from a 3 bedroom town home into a big house. It took 5.5 hours. And movers Tommy (lead) Richard and Paul worked NONSTOP the whole time. I had every type of fragile thing imaginable, and everything showed up to the new place in great condition. I was really worried about my electronic rising/sitting desk and some other larger electronics, but they were all fine. ANOTHER nice thing: When Tommy Richard and Paul showed up, I wasn't 100% packed. But they provided me with extra 'wardrobe boxes' and plastic wrap and were able to quickly package up everything that was not packaged including paintings and toiletries and clothes. It's so funny...when they first came in, I was trying to create a 'game plan' for the move, but they just said to let them handle everything...and they were right! Very happy with First Choice Moving and with Tommy Richard and Paul. Hopefully I don't have to move out of this house any time soon, but if I do, I want this company to do the job. Also, their rates ended up being less that the one other mover I looked at. Total scam. My move was scheduled for this morning with the movers arriving at 8:30-9. At 9 I got a call that they were on their way. 45 minutes later I get a call that there was an accident with the truck so another crew would be dispatched once available, estimated time was an hour. Two hours later they say a crew is available and will arrive in an hour. An hour and a half later they show up and finally load the truck, 4.5 hrs after they were scheduled to. After loading the truck they went to get the truck weighed per my request, except they apparently also drove all over town because what should have taken 45 mins took about 1.5 hrs before they arrived at the new apartment to offload. Luis, who coordinated the move cannot be contacted anymore. Voicemail is full and no response to phone calls regarding this awful service and coordination. I went through an amazing moving company called Starving Students whom I've used before and they accommodated last minute. They are affiliated with 1stChoiceMoving and I was unaware of this for this is the moving company that showed up on my moving day. There were two movers named Anthony and John who claimed my move went over 3 hours and that they would stop the meter to accommodate me by not paying more. It turns out they claimed a 2 hour move and kept the money for the extra hour to themselves. When I reached the correct department to get a hold of who represents 1stChoiceMoving I was referred to Luis. He took the time to meet up with me face to face to refund my entire move as well as discuss what I would like to do moving forward with the fact that one of the thieves BLED on my COUCH while moving it. I have pictures/proof that are timestamped as he saw these pictures, he agreed that it was disgusting and was nice enough to ask what I wanted. I relayed that I want a new couch. He honored that verbally. I was impressed with how he handled it...AT FIRST. He was attempting to pick up my old couch without me having a new couch picked out yet. I gave him links to a couch for him to order which was actually priced under the amount of what my original couch cost. He implied that we'd have to go through his claims department in case I was trying to claim a "$10K" couch. How offensive when his employees are the ones who stole from me. I have been corresponding with him through email to document everything and he blatantly lied to me by telling me that he already ordered the couch (set) and it would be delivered within 7-10 days. I replied back asking for a confirmation/tracking number and he did not reply back nor did he provide the confirmation number. I gave him exactly 7 days to hear back and his excuse was that he was on vacation and the entire story changed aka the couch I picked out is discontinued and attempted to have me look at couches that were similar. He is now going to cut me a check for the amount of the couches I picked out. He gave me a 5 hours window of exchanging the check and picking up my couch this following Monday the 25th of September. I asked him politely to give me a courtesy call today, the 23rd of September and he still hasn't honored this. He is evading me as best as he possibly can. His office phone representative is extremely rude and lied to me once by cutting me off mid-sentence relaying that he was working OFF-SITE and that he was running a BUSINESS. I hung up on her refusing to listen to the rest of her rudeness and called back not even two minutes later and LUIS picked up the phone. Nothing adds up and I am looking forward to receiving my check so that I can purchase a new one. It has been almost one month since dealing with Luis. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and I now know why his employees are incompetent and thieves. He spoke with conviction in the beginning and seemed like a concerned business owner, but he has been unresponsive and like I said, I've documented his lies through email correspondence. 1stchoicemovinglv should be renamed LASTCHOICEMOVINGLV or LastResortChoiceMoving. They use the hashtags #KnowWhoYouHire on their promotional pages and they need to practice what they preach. Do not let this happen to you. I really hope others read this and revert to StarvingStudents movers who are impeccable with their customer service. I have been communicating with their owner and they will not be using 1stChoiceMoving anymore. During my exchange of receiving the check for my couch, I do not feel safe and will need Law Enforcement/Security/public place with cameras to ensure my safety. Extremely disappointed. Wow! First Choice Moving seriously went above and beyond my expectations. I always get nervous when moving because I've spent a lot of money on my furniture/belongings. The customer service over the phone was great from the start. I had to move last minute and at first they did not have any openings on the day I needed. I asked if they could please call me if there were any cancellations. Luckily, they ended up having a cancellation and booked me for the day I needed. The two men who moved my things were nice and very careful with my belongings. They wrapped everything they felt was fragile before loading it into the moving truck. A couple days later I noticed there was a crack in my teak coffee table that had not been there before. If I noticed it during the move I would have mentioned it then so I was bummed about it, but I figured I would just let it be. First Choice Moving called me and asked how my move was. They wanted to make sure I was satisfied - AMAZING SERVICE! I told them I was very happy overall, however there was a crack in my coffee table. They sent someone over to take photos and look at it the next day. That same day they took my coffee table in to get the crack repaired! I couldn't believe it! Consistency is key.. So I forgot to submit a review for the first time I used this company. My first experience was back in July of 2017, they moved me from a three bedroom to a 4 bedroom. I didn't include my garage that had ten boxes and some metal racks and bikes. Anyhow Chris I believe was the guy who set me up, There was 2 movers and 1 foreman that showed up to move me, and were on time. These guys were on point, even though I am a talker they just kept moving while the pretended to conversate with me. I didn't mind cause they were there to move me and they did just that. I think they moved me just under or a bit past 3 hrs, have to check my receipt. Any how these three guys were on their game, knew what they were doing. They wrapped what had to be wrapped and maintained pace. Only damage were the handles on my king size mattress , it could of been avoided but then it again I think that was more on beauty rest co for not making them strong enough, so I didn't make a big deal. Fast fwd. to December 2017 had to move again, didn't hesitate to hire them again from the great experience though their hrly rate is higher then others. Sad to say I wasn't as pleased as the first time, they took 5+ hrs and change or so, the dropped and broke one of my night stands, it's second hand so didn't make a big deal again. Though this time I added my garage I thought it would only add an additional hr and I did move a bit farther. WE SPENT THE NEXT THREE DAYS RUNNING BACK AND FORTH from the old house to the new using our personal cars to complete the move on our own. CAUSING EXTREME STRESS AND ANXIETY to get out of the house on time for the walk through. This is a terrible company! Do not choose them if you're worried about your furniture damaged. My movers damaged my headboard and the side railing to my wood queen size bed frame. One large crack and scuff marks on the side railing. This was all documented in my receipt that i signed at the end of the move. The damage was accidental which I understand but getting the company to follow up and repair the process is a different story. My movers said the company would call me in a few days to follow up which they never did. I called a few days later 1/4/17 and spoke with Louis in which he asked for photos and description of damaged items. Stated it would take like a week for the repair person to contact me. After sending proof, i asked louis to CC me in an email of him contacting the repair guy so there is evidence that the process was started. I never got a followup call, text or email. I called again 1/6/17 to speak with Louis to see if he started the process but a female receptionist answered (forgot her name) stated louis wasnt here and that she would follow up with louis and call me back. I never received a called back. At this point, i dont know if the repair guy has been contacted at all. I understand that it takes a week for the guy to schedule me but i would like to know that a work order has been processed. Everytime i call they apologize and say they are really busy. I dont care that youre busy. Customers hire movers so items arent damaged. At least follow up with them! I had schedule another move for my furniture to be moved into a house which i will be cancelling. I highly DO NOT recommended this company and should be renamed "last choice movers". Its not the movers but the management that is wrong and unhelpful. I only chose this company for its reviews and sadly theyre lies. Possibly paid yelp reviews. Late update: Luis had contacted me in regards to repairing my furniture. A guy was sent out and did a basic fill the gap with like some putty and colored over it with a furniture marker. I was contacted a few days after the furniture repair with a follow up from Luis asking if the repair guy came and i stated "the repair guy did come out but i thought it would be something other than filling the gap and coloring" I needed a 2nd move from my storage locker to my house so i negotiated with Luis for a discounted move. The following review will be in regards to that move. The movers were decent but i felt that they were a bit rushed. I realized that I was paying by the hour and i was worried something else might be damaged. Initial inspection after the moved revealed no NOTICEABLE damage. (I am still currently not fully moved in and do not know the state of the contents within my boxes. Later yelp update will be posted). The movers helped me put a queen size bed frame together and a full size bed frame. Upon later inspection, i noticed that my full size bed frame was installed improperly with one side supposedly being for the tail end of the bed. From a earlier review, i wrote that my queen size headboard was cracked. The noticeable and initial crack had been repaired but a week or so after my 2nd move, i noticed another larger crack on top of the headboard which was from the previous drop. For my second move, i requested from Luis that the movers use pads and carpet runners as to not scuff my tile floors and walls. The movers did a good job laying carpet runners and pads but my walls and tile were still scuffed. I realized that moving would result in scuffs but i didnt think there would be that many. Overall the move was fair. I would give this move 3.5 stars based on Luis following up with me about the repair guy, offering to send someone else to repair the furniture after my disapproval and following up with me again after my 2nd move. Thank you First Choice Movers - our move from Southern California to Vegas was painless and smooth. Our movers - John and Richard - took the time to make sure all of our stuff got delivered on time and took care of everything professionally. They are great company too! - at no point did I feel like we were being rushed - even when we felt like we were running behind on packing. Everything turned out to be just fine. Moving is stressful - packing, finding movers, worrying about moving everything in, unpacking - blah blah blah. If you've dealt with bad moving companies, that just adds to your stress. Thankfully, we found First Choice Moving to have reasonable rates and they were super easy to work with. Most of my communication was with Luis by email, paid my deposit via phone, and that was it. We moved a 2-bedroom apartment into a condo in Vegas, and were charged a flat rate fee (no need to count boxes, mileage, men, etc). This company ripped me off for over $5000 on my credit card that was on authorized they lost stolen or damaged almost $30,000 in my belongings they would not return calls on multiple multiple occasions get their insurance company information upfront first they're liars cheaters and Steelers. I don't even believe half of the reviews are real but once they put up their themselves. They'll tell you what you want to hear to get your business but do not use a credit card when doing business with them. I Guarantee you they will rip you off just like they did me. I have been trying for months now to get a hold of their insurance company based on things that were broken on the job site or stolen from my storage facility in their possession. But they will not provide it to me they kept stringing me along until they could process a $5000 charge for a job that I was quoted it less than 3000. All I can say is you are taking a heck of a gamble if you use Louis and his company. And if you think I'm kidding I would love to hear from you I will show you the text messages of me trying to get them to work with me to resolve my problems. read more

This company is a joke. Avoid them at all costs. They hire workers from out of state they don't know where they're driving to. They got lost 45 minutes when they had to go a mile and a half down the street. We had a call the company twice the second time the manager John was swearing at my wife and made her cry on the phone. Amazingly bad. We were moving locally so a couple of days ahead, I set a morning appointment for a truck and 2 guys. Was told it would cost $122.50 per hour to use them as long as necessary. Fine. I also rented another truck myself at cost of $115, so we could do the move in one trip. First, these clowns didn't show up on time. 30 min later I called. Spoke to John's wife (they're the owners) and she apologized and said they'd had a problem and were just, "running late" but that the guys would arrive within an hour. 30 or 45 min later I got a call from one of the driver/loader guys who said it was supposed to be his day off, but that he was coming. He said it would take another 1.5 hours since he had to pick up the truck and his coworker in North Las Vegas and I'm in SW. Frustrating, but what could I do at this point. It was too late to get a replacement company and I had a paid truck sitting in my driveway! Two hours later, I called the office, no answer. Then the driver's cell... nothing! No answer anywhere! No show!! Wtf? I had to hire labor from Home Depot to get half day use from the rented truck and then reschedule the rest of the move for the following day with another company. I was very worried about vacating my old apartment on time.... called First Choice Moving and they made it SO easy.... I was set up with an appointment only a couple days later... they were so nice and friendly and helpful! The price was right .....everything was perfectly placed.... nothing broken. They were done within 2 hours. The guys that were sent were so great and went over and above to help me! I was so relieved..... This is the worst moving company I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. The movers were several hours late even though we scheduled weeks in advance; we received conflicting excuses in regard to their very late arrival. I witnessed the movers handle our boxes with absolute disregard, kicking the dolly under a stack of heavy boxes stacked way too high causing damage to the contents. They sat the fabric part of our couch on the ground next to one of the boxes that leaked due to their carelessness, causing a stain on our couch which they refused to clean (which wasn't a lot to ask for) after a month of getting the run-around, unreturned phone calls and no follow-up. This company should be your last resort and not to be trusted with your valuables. read more

If you look at my history of reviews you will see that I am NOT a person to write terrible reviews since I understand the impact Yelp has on a business. I write this with a heavy heart and I only hope that something like this never happens to anyone else. Interstate move: Nevada to Texas. Date Moved: November 18, 2015 Today's Date: February 22, 2016 (still an unresolved matter) The movers were very sweet guys but took 2 full days to load a one bedroom apartment (including 3 hours to load a washer and dryer and 3 boxes from a storage unit) into a moving truck that was too small to begin with. Dropped a $2,200 TV, broke my bed, stacked boxes and items on the top of a coffee table that was placed on it's side and forced to do the leg work on finding repairmen that they had no intention on following through to fix the damages. In Texas I used a proxy to receive the movers. I was informed that they used a stone carving statue I purchased in Thailand ( that is irreplaceable ) to prop open elevator doors. They attempted to charge me extra without consulting me and made arrangements to move things to another location without my consent. It was later resolved. However now I am missing items and they stole a lock that I paid for. I trusted them to do a great job since they had amazing reviews online. I felt reassured after speaking to Luis about the mishaps as he promised to make things right. I have no choice but to write the honest truth about this unfortunate chain of events and find myself wading through a pool of debt. - They broke 2 major pieces of furniture and now refuse to make good on their word to fix or replace the items. - Luis, the owner, refuses to return phone calls or emails, now that the furniture is irreparable. Bottom line, No, I don't recommend them for moving you down the street, further more across state lines. Yes, they are affordable for a long distance move but price shop for days if you have to. Do your homework, read all paperwork thoroughly and cancel the miute you feel uneasy about any of it. I paid to have them break my furniture and now I have to buy replacements for the things they so carelessly touched. read more
