My rating is based upon their honesty: since I moved from Golden to Littleton I have been searching for a local practice who participated with my insurance (United Concordia). Aspen View was the second practice I visited, the first was Red Rocks Family Dentistry. After radiographs and a cleaning at Red Rocks, the dentist indicated that I had 2 cavities under my maxillary bridge and she could not treat me, claiming that my case was too complex. I was referred to 2 prosthodontists, both of whom I had seen previously and did not like. I waited for six months and appointed with Aspen View, explaining that I had a full mouth series taken at Red Rocks and that my insurance carrier would not pay for additional radiographs. I was told that they needed a couple more and that I would not be charged. After reviewing them, the dentist claimed that I had an infection at the root of a tooth which had a prior root canal, also located beneath my bridge and that suggested that I see a specialist. As of this date (5/7/26), I have not been billed for the radiographs as was promised. I have come to the conclusion that since the time I had a complete reconstruction of my mouth (2011-2012), several dentists are unwilling to treat me. read more

One of the worst dentist I've ever been to in my life!!!. I went to them for quite a while (yrs and paid thousands of 1000s of dollars for the work they did... by the end of it - after I had my first tooth pulled. I was treated like a criminal because I was an excruciating pain for 13 days. I don't do opiates, but I couldn't get anything to make the pain go away. They wrote me a prescription that was an invalid prescription. All the pharmacies said that is a fake prescription. They don't make prescriptions in that order I was given and they don't understand why my dentist gave me that prescription. I went to eight different pharmacies to try to get it filled by the last one they said this is not a real prescription .... I was in shock. I grew up with a doctor of pharmacology in my family had amazing connections to doctors because of my mom and all her procedures that she had in her life with top-notch service and quality people. This was opposite .. I've never gone through that process before and the women that were running the Desk at the dentist office ..treated me as though I was trying to get more drugs, which I just needed the pain to go away since then I've had five other teeth pulled with no pain whatsoever except for the first day and it was nothing compared to the excruciating god-awful experience I went through with overwhelming pain for over two weeks with my first poll at Aspen view dental. ... due to the fact of my genetic make up of how my parents did not have good teeth I have a wonderful dentist now I have a bridge and I have healthy mouth now I'm treated with respect dignity and shown Grace. I was treated terribly by the Aspen view, dental office staff and the ladies who run the reception desk. I was in the state of shock during all this. I highly suggest stay far away from this business and don't put your money or time into it because they do not know how to treat people.. they also did some crowns that were a defective material causing massive root decay because of their inferior product. Also, when you x-ray, you can't see through their type of crowns, hiding the fact that there was decay. My current Dentist makes crowns in the office as well as uses a material that you can see through when X-rays to see the teeth of any thing starts to show up so that you can catch it sooner than having to pull a tooth. I'm paying the price of going to a terrible dentist that did terrible work and hopefully I've had my last tooth pulled because now I have outstanding service and quality a product that's used read more

Started out good, but then I was notified I had a $550 credit and asked how I wanted it refunded, card or check. I said I was a loyal patient and would just apply it to future work. I then had an appointment where I was told a tooth was bad and needed to be pulled and got a referral to an oral surgeon. While I was waiting for the oral surgery appointment, I got a letter from Dr David Daugherty that he was "withdrawing from care" and I should find another dentist. I called and they game me no reason. I waited for my refund and never heard anything, so I called and they said they had underbilled me from the previous year and were keeping my $550. No letter from them, no call, no warning, nothing, just my $550 is GONE! Very unprofessional in my opinion. Very sad- i liked several people in the office, and I don't understand what happened. I think maybe they dropped me because they knew I would be upset when they took my money. read more

It is very difficult for me to understand the negative reviews about Dr. Daugherty and/or his practice. I have been a patient of his for more than 11 years and have never had a bad experience. He is the absolute best dentist I've ever had (I'm 78 now). I find it impossible to believe that he would ever do anything unnecessary to his patients, because he follows exceptionally high standards for himself and his staff. Among other attributes he is incredible at giving novocaine--taking extra steps to prevent any discomfort while injecting it, and there is no discomfort afterwards because he makes sure it gets distributed well while injecting it. He is patient, kind and gentle, and I always understand anything he tells me about anything he does in my mouth. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone, even the people I love most in the world. My hygienist, Ami does an extremely thorough job and the condition of my mouth, teeth and gums reflect her excellent care. It is hard for me to believe that there are any substandard hygienists in this office. read more

I can't say my recent experience with Aspen View Dental was what I expected from a business that represents itself as a professional dental provider. I would summarize my comprimized experience by saying that if the diagnosis, treatment and costs offered don't seem professional or reasonable, consider a Second Opinion. In my particular case I was confronted with an "extreme" assessment of my oral / dental condition and felt compelled to obtain a Second Opinion; it spared me much unnecessary discomfort / suffering and money had I followed the diagnosis provided and the plan forward recommended by Aspen View Dental to "treat" my "imperfect / defective / documented" condition. Went in for a cleaning today, they charge high dollar for low quality cleaning, normally I feel clean and fresh when I walk out of the dentist. Today when the hygienist started to polish all my teeth, she didn't even use the tools provided to polish them correctly, normally you spin the brush to polish, all she did was tap the tooth with polish on every tooth then rinsed them out and called it good. Didn't feel clean at all! Use the tools you were trained to use instead of waisting my money and time! read more

I went to Aspen View for a cleaning and the hygienist was great, I liked her a lot and she cleaned my teeth well. I had to come back in for a filling and the dentist did the Novocain and the drilling and that's it. A hygienist did the filling and shaping of the filling. She took forever and didn't tell me what she was doing hardly at all. She wasn't able to fix a problem with the filling as it still catches every time I floss and she completely tore up my gums. They have been sore, bruised and sensitive for the past 3 days. I've never had an experience like this and for the first time in my life I'm fearful of going to the dentist so I canceled my next appointments and will be looking for a new dentist. I've never had a dentist not do all of that work themself. But, apparently that's now allowed in Colorado, but is not in other states. read more

Where to start... First and foremost, these people just gave my pregnant sister an X-Ray during her second trimester!!!!! I have contacted multiple other dentists, and already know for a fact that a pregnant woman should never be X-Rayed, ever! This is criminal. They are absolute liars. This place is seriously never going to hear the end of this from me. They also lied to my sister, saying she has some super rare gum disease (which she doesn't) and tried to trick her into a $800 procedure, saying if she did not do it that her baby would be born pre-mature. Next, they lied to me and said I had 14 cavities, just because it had been awhile since I had been to their office. They never even showed me an X-Ray when I asked multiple times... While working on one side of my mouth, they filled an extra one without telling me and said "oh, we found another one". After going to a honest dentist, it turns out I only had 2 cavities. So they basically ground my teeth down at the gums, and filled cavities that were not even there, so that in a few years I would have to go back. Thanks for GIVING ME CAVITIES. Also, a few years ago, my stepdad was lied to about some BS procedure he had to have done. I am a honest, loving human being and these people are dishonest scumbags who should be fearing the judgement day of God when that day comes. read more

My entire family had been loyal patients of Dr. Daugherty from 2009 to 2018. Our experiences were amazing, from interacting with Jackie at the front desk to cleaning and the most amazing work and care from Dr. Daugherty himself. Was sad to leave him when we moved away. About a year ago, my daughter moved back and went to the office. Apparently changes have been made and not for the better. She did not get to see Dr. Daugherty and the other dentist that worked on her did not do her filling properly. She had to go back multiple times and was very uncomfortable. After all that the billing was messed up and took for ever to get fixed. Thinking of her past great experiences, she recommended Dr. Daugherty to her boyfriend and he too had a bad experience. He is experiencing pain and had a hard time getting a prescription sent. Not sure what is going on but the office has become a mess. read more

I first met Dr. Daugherty and staff in 2005. Great first experience with tooth cleaning and xrays. No surprise when I had some cavities. They were not in my insurance network at that time so I found another dentist. I had some work done and a crown put in, in 2007, which did well until 2012. Prior to the crown falling off, went to yet another dentist which wanted to place in what I presume to be new ceramic inserts and crowns, which promise a one visit procedure. No thanks, and was too pricey for my tastes. Back to Dr. Daugherty. The previously placed crown fell off while eating a delicious roast beef sandwich. This office saw me the next day and placed the temporary crown. I went back shorty after to get the rest of my 4+ cavities filled in. Great experience, didn't feel the shot and the dental assistant took a lot of time to make sure my bite felt great. I didn't know my bite was out of whack until they made some adjustments. In short, my mouth has never felt better, and they do make an appointment for 6 months out for that next cleaning! I have found a great dental team! read more

You will never find a better dental office on the planet, from reception, dental assistants, Dr. Daugherty and Dr. Kimball. Compassion in businesses is harder to find in this day and age and Dr. Daugherty is either extremely lucky with his staff or brilliant. With all the staff its apparent that their excited to be there and again it shows through obvious compassion. I will never be able to refer enough customers for what they did for me. I am eternally grateful and I'm glad I found a dentist office that takes my health seriously over dollars. I have been going to see Dr. Daugherty for several years now. I always get good service and the staff is very helpful with insurance questions and appointment scheduling. I have had bad dental work in my past and know how expensive it can be correct mistakes so once you find a good dentist you will stay. First time writing a review but this office deserves ALL my 5 stars. As someone who doesn't like going to the Dentist, this was one of the most pleasant experiences I've had at a dentist office. The people up front, Devan and Stephanie were very helpful and solved any problems I had with a little humor sprinkled in for good fun. My dentist Dr.Daugherty was very knowledgeable and seemed very experienced. The Hygienist Shanda did really well, the best hygienist I've had. Usually my gums get and feel scratched up after a cleaning but I could hardly tell that she was working on my teeth. The office was also very safe especially with COVID going on, it seemed as if they were taking every precaution imaginable to keep everything clean and disinfected. As I'm having to get my wisdom teeth out soon I will definitely be returning, this time without the dread of going to the dentist. read more

I met Dr. Daugherty several years ago and had a great first experience. The front desk staff was awesome as well as his assistants. I was so disappointed and quite shocked when recently I developed some tooth pain (turned out to be an abscess, excruciating) and I called for an appointment. Apparently, Jackie had left (from the front desk) and he has a new dentist, Dr. Kimball, working with him. Dr. Kimball was available to see me. I was grateful and agreed to run in and have X-rays and get diagnosed. I never saw Dr. Kimball, never spoke to her in person, was prescribed antibiotics and told by the hygienist I had an infection. They suggested I make an appointment with Dr. Daugherty for that following Monday, so I did. The pain seemed to increase when I got home and I started to freak out (as pain will do to you). I called Dr. Kimball to ask if this was normal. I was told the antibiotics will kick in soon, every person is different but if I could "run over to the oral surgeon and have the tooth pulled that day, that would be great." I thought I was hearing things! I was flabbergasted! I told the doctor I had a 12 year old at home alone, a job, needed to arrange for a ride home, no family in Colorado, etc... She acted like having surgery was like getting your nails done. She recommended I call the oral surgeon and get in the books for the tooth extraction. I asked her if that was the only option, she said yes. I called the oral surgeon, they had left for the day. This was before 4pm on a weekday. My Monday appointment was cancelled by Dr. Daugherty. The receptionist I spoke to was condescending and rude when I called to ask why. I'm shocked and disappointed. She said that Dr. Daugherty told her, "that tooth has to go." I asked the receptionist if my next step was to call the oral surgeon, she said yes. The receptionist ( no degree in dentistry) told me that when the antibiotics wore off, I would be in pain. She also told me, the antibiotics were a band aid. She was so rude and so mean, I truly could not believe it. I've never posted a review on yelp until today. read more

I had 3 crowns from this dentist put on in 2006. I moved away shortly after so could not go back to this dentist for resolution. The first crown popped off in 2008. I required crown lengthening surgery, a root cancel and a new crown. ($3k+) A second crown came off in 2011. My dentist agreed to put it back on, but advised me I would likely need crown lengthing surgery again. He believes this dentist took off way too much tooth not leaving enough for a crown to attach. This crown just came off again likely putting me down the path of another $3k path to fix this problem. I'm certainly not a dental expert, but my problems with this work make me question the quality of service I received at this dentist. read more

The worst dental office. I was told to go online and fill out the paperwork before the appointment. When I got to the appointment they were unable to find my paperwork that I did online and I had to redo it again. The dentist I saw told me I needed surgery to have a broken tooth removed. When I told him that was not the case and that I have had one other tooth removed without surgery I was told that's just how they do it. When he read on my paperwork that I had a fear of the dentist, he told me I should consider heavily sedating myself so that I will be more comfortable. After the appointment I went to the front desk and asked what I owed. She said nothing so I left. 2 weeks later a bill came to my house for that appointment and it was in my husbands name. My husband has never and will never go to this dentist. When I called to see why she said insurance does not cover what I was in for. Please do yourself a favor and AVOID this place. I went to another dentist that was sympathetic to my fear, he was able to remove the tooth THE SAME DAY and SHOCKER.....my insurance covered all but $100.00 of it. read more

I was looking for a new dentist when I moved and this place was close so in I went 9/13/16 and 20 minutes later I left feeling like my teeth were the nastiest things they had ever seen, two more appointments and supposedly $3000 worth of dental work that needed to be done. I brush, floss and mouth wash twice a day; it didn't feel right. Needless to say I got a second and third opinion and both said not only did I not need any of the work (full debriefing, two crowns, and seven fillings) done but that I was being charged too much as well. I found a new dentist and didn't tell them any of this. Went in 10/4/16 to this new dentist. Walked out with an appointment to get a new cavity filled (one not even near the places AVD said I had them) and to get an old filling redone. Makes me sick that there are companies out there that would do that to someone and I at least had a mind to get a second opinion. BE CAREFUL! read more
