I'm an outdoor living designer that services two locations with in person services but sometimes we work remotely. Often times our remote projects are in the western United States where homeowners already understand the value a designer brings. The biggest downfall of designing remotely is not having a contractor to refer to our remote design clients because as I'm sure you can imagine, things don't usually go to plan and corners get cut. That changes for us when we met Joe. High end custom outdoor living construction is expensive, it takes a while and it's stressful but if the communication between all parties is on point, the project is a breeze. We're happy to have aligned ourselves with Aspenwood. Our other projects in the area have been train wrecks due to contractors promising things they cannot deliver, overbooking themselves and most importantly horrible communication. REFUSED TO RETURN $2,000 DEPOSIT AFTER DELAYING START FOR OVER 3 MONTHS. They took our $2,000 deposit in April of 2024. Told us the job would be done in June, then July, then August. We cancelled the job in the last few days of August 2024 when they still hadn't planned a start date with us. They refused to return our deposit - stating they had already purchased materials, which was strange, considering we hadn't even chosen our materials yet. AVOID. So, literally - we got NOTHING for $2,000. read more

From the initial sales process to final completion of my project, Aspenwood Landscape has proven to be a competent and trustworthy partner in addressing my landscaping needs. I hired Aspenwood to tear out and replace 4300 square feet of sod. Josiah came out to quote the job and his pricing was competitive. He was also successful in convincing me to consider a new strain of rhizomatous tall fescue over blue grass, with the former being resistant to drought and requiring less water to maintain. It looks great! His crew worked extremely hard and paid attention to detail while completing the project. Aspenwood had the right equipment to do an excellent job in soil prep, which included 15 tons of soil treatment. At the completion of the project, Omar (their crew chief) was meticulous in adjusting the sprinkler heads to their original state. Requested a Quote for some artificial turf. Didn't even come look at the job site and gave me a $25,000 estimate. Previous estimates from companies that ACTUALLY came to the house to look at what work needed to be done has been between $7000-9000. Seriously? TRIPLE the avg cost? LOL NO THANKS. Updated Response to Aspenwood's Comment on this review: You are absolutely right. We are not a good fit. Trying to charge someone TRIPLE what everyone else has quoted is insulting. I didn't have a bad day. I had a great day. I was able to weed out a company that tried to gouge me for $14,000 OVER the average cost comparison. So I called them next season as I said I would. Early in the year Arranged to have them do a lawn service (mowing for the summer since I would be traveling a lot). As the time approached and I was planning on them they called and had decided not to help. At this point I didn't have time to find a replacement. Left me in a bad situation. read more

Edited/updated review (6/6/19) Shortly after posting this review I received a phone call from Aspenwood. I mentioned my frustration and the bad taste in my mouth. He was very friendly and listened to my rant. He appreciated my comments and said he would be happy to look at my yard. He visited the next day and went went over the whole project. Again very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately his pricing is quite a bit higher than my budget. Despite everything and the fact I can't afford him, Josiah made every effort to smooth things over and I appreciate that. I would recommend checking them out. I'm not basing this review on their work but rather their communication. I saw this company working on neighbors yard and since I have a fairly large scale project I thought I'd reach out. I looked them up here (on Yelp) and sent an inquiry. They responded within a couple hours asking for my address and contact info, which I provided. I did not hear back. The next day I stopped by the team working at my neighbors to see if I could have them come by at some point. Unfortunately the boss wasn't there and I was told to contact the main office. The next day I reached out via email and received a phone call a few hours later. (2 days later btw) I described the details of my job over the phone and they proceeded to give me a quote. I said it would be great if they would come take a look and I was told "our system is pretty accurate". (After all they're working on a yard six houses down. Not like it's a trip across town) I asked if they simply didn't want to come take a look and give me an estimate and was told they would email an estimate. I'm not really sure how you can do an estimate without looking at the project. Sure you can throw out a "ball park" price but how about looking at the job and seeing if it's really as extensive as it sounds? How about trying to win a customer? I told him what my budget was and they didn't even try to discuss options. Clearly doesn't want my business so I won't give it to them. Which is too bad because it's a lot of money. Aspenwood Is overpriced and doesn't offer weeding services. They told me that they had to raise prices 30% because "the cost of gas is higher." Only positive I can think of is that they respond fairly quickly to requests. read more

Aspenwood's quote for our back yard project wasn't the lowest but it was also far from the highest. The best part though was having Curtis on the job site throughout. He was fantastic to work with and had great suggestions along the way that made the whole project come together far better than we originally imagined. The crew did terrific work, cleaned up every day and was careful with some of the existing plants and yard we were keeping. It was a big project and Curtis and Dakota were great to work with and did exactly what we wanted done. Good, responsive landscaping services have been hard to find over the last several years. I hired Aspenwood to do Christmas lights on my home. This is the first time I've hired someone to put up Christmas lights, as I'm a new homeowner and don't trust myself to get it right. Their customer service is impeccable. They were nice and the lights looked great, but several strands on one side of my home went out after a week. Communication was good. However, their quote for sod replacement was obviously quoted more than twice what two major sod farms charge to do a full yard prep and install. It was clear it was done to say "this job is too small and not worth our time". I've had other contractors do this when they don't really want the work. It would be nice if they can just say "Hey, we can't take smaller jobs right now", rather than come up with ridiculous quotes. It's clear they don't really want to do small jobs, and only want the huge high dollar jobs. And that's ok, just be upfront about it. read more

We love how Aspenwood Landscape dramatically changed our backyard space. We've lived in our home for 17 years and wish we had worked with Aspenwood years ago. This project was done extremely well, with a team of pros who were timely, friendly, conscientious and excellent in the performance of the work. They may do great work but I decided not to even explore it because they wanted to charge a $100 'consultation fee' just to come out and give me an estimate. It would apply toward the work if you have them do it but in the event they are expensive (which you have no way of knowing until they do their consultation) you spent $100 to find out you didn't' want to use them. read more

This is the best team I have ever worked with. They are quick to respond, and I have them out for regular maintenance and lawn care. They have done my sprinkler blowouts and aeration, as well as some landscaping at my home. Josiah continues to impress me with his efficient and creative landscaping designs. We usually repair our sprinkler issues ourselves. But recently we thought we had a cracked pipe underneath the sidewalk between zones and that repair is not in our wheelhouse. So I picked Aspenwood based on their list of services and their great rating. This rating is deserved. They diagnosed our problem, showed us the issue and though we were mistaken in our assessment it was still a problem I was more than happy to let them fix. Josiah and the Aspenwood Landscape team did a wonderful job transforming our backyard into a fully useable space. From the initial design and tweaks along the way, they took what we had in mind and absolutely nailed it! We wanted an open and simpler concept than what the previous owners had done to the yard (trainwreck of shrubs and a warped deck) and within a couple weeks, our backyard was brand new. They installed a beautiful paver patio, new sod, a new walkway from the front to the back yard, and a new rock perimeter. They really opened up the space exactly how we imagined it. They were with us every step of the way and answered all our questions (and re-questions). They were transparent in pricing changes as well as flexible with any unplanned design adjustments. Sprinklers went out and I needed them serviced fast. The expert came out and did a full check and discovered I needed some replaced and other capped.
