The dance studio is small, but well kept with clean bathrooms, a clear entrance way and space to maneuver. The studio has nice wooden floors and large mirrors, always convenient for practicing dance and rehearsing a choreographed piece. I did take off one star because the space is quite small and when the room gets full it's difficult to "let loose" and branch out as a dancer. I found that it can feel cramped with upwards of 12 adults in the room. Nonetheless, this is NYC and space is hard to come by anywhere! All in all, a conveniently located, well maintained studio that is perfect for small dance classes and workshops.

Though I was new to the Bollywood style of dancing, I loved every minute of class! It was a non-stop, head-to-toe workout, that left you wanting more even if you were wiped out. The instructor was high energy and the playlist was so fun. We danced about 5-6 songs and were instructed to follow our teacher's steps. Warning to those who haven't been to a dance class, the steps aren't broken down into segments. It's more of a watch and get right into the steps all at once. The class ended with a 5 minute ab series in sync with the music and a cool down. Classes are typically $15 for a drop in and they have a full schedule of classes ranging from ballet to Africand dance. I'll definitely be back for more!

I lost a lot a few years ago due to chronic health issues one of which affected my nervous system for years. In the past being unaware, I would try to go to dance but brain issues prevented me from being fully present in it, and finally I gave up when it got worse. As I found out my issues, I began healing and decided to return to dancing as a way to continue that. And now, as my body has started to regained health I can finally enjoy it. Salsa salsa gave me a place to go after I lost a lot. It gave me friends and a community and such wonderful, kind instructors that unknowingly are helping me heal. Very grateful for it.
