Oncor contracted them to cut trees off lines. I had already had someone cut the limbs through the tree, but I guess this was not enough. Instead this company comes through and chops off the whole top of my tree, but because one trunk was pointing toward my house, left that one like a middle finger through my tree. I was told they would come and take it down after holiday, as they were discussing doing so at the time - but did not. I called to complain and was told they could do nothing about it as not have authority from Oncor. Which sucks as they butchered my tree and it looks like crap now. I did not call them. Maybe the electric company employed them? I'm not sure, but my experience is the same as most across the internet it seems... very, very poor. They left about a dozen large tree limbs strewn on top of my permanent fence, my temporary fence, and laying on my property. There was and has been no cleanup and they will not answer or return calls. It also appeared that they left part of their lunch scattered in the street out front. Bad bad bad. I could go on forever about my experience with this company, but I'll keep it simple: they do not care. If you're considering hiring them directly (outside of the large contracts they usually work under), I strongly advise that you supervise every second they're on your property. Without notice or permission, they came onto my property and drove heavy machinery onto my driveway, cracking and caving it in. My neighbor witnessed the entire incident -- that's how I know it was them. Shockingly, they returned a second time, driving their truck into my backyard, over newly installed patio pavers, crushing my hostas, leaving burn-out marks on my driveway, and tearing deep tracks into my yard. The truck sat idling long enough to burn the grass beneath it. I tried every possible avenue of communication before involving a lawyer, but they denied everything -- even with camera footage and a witness statement. Calls went unanswered, a foreman hung up on me, and GPS records they provided had been conveniently redacted. At one point, their trucks even drove past my house multiple times, slowly, after I filed complaints. After nearly a year of wasted time and legal fees, the company walked away without accountability. I had no choice but to go through my homeowner's insurance, which means higher costs for me down the road. All I ever wanted was for my property to be restored to how it was before they trespassed and damaged it. As a first-time homeowner who worked so hard to achieve this milestone, only to have my property destroyed within months of moving in, I can't express enough how devastating this was. Seeing other reviews, it's clear this company has a long history of disrespect and negligence. In short: Do not trust them on your property. This was in Ohio! Adam and Gabe, the managers of Asplundh are extremely unprofessional and lack any sort of ethics. They cut down a section of my pecan tree that was not obstructing a power line. This was mostly at the request of one of my neighbors. When I brought it to their attention, they said they would compensate me for the damage. However, a week later they sent me a letter saying , "Our investigation revealed they were not responsible for the way your pean tree was trimmed..." This is a lie. How can you admit fault and then absolve yourselves?! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! If you are even considering using this business, think again. And If you see a door knocker with Asplundh on it, make sure you have a camera recording your yard and trees when they show up. These "tree experts" destroyed my fence when cutting a tree down to trim around power lines, crushed my newly planted rose bushes both with that fence and also with their boots, then only returned to fix after I started a damage claim with Duke energy. They are a low bid, low quality Duke contractor, and apparently have zero actual expertise in how to properly cut down trees and trim vegetation, as they left a bunch of vines hanging from the power lines they were supposed to trim, along with completely butchering the trees. They forman promised to return the next day and fix my fence, but then did not return, and instead I got an email saying someone would come back next week. They completely ignored my requests for reimbursement for the newly planted roses which they trampled, and had no response to any of my phone calls or emails. This company is working with my power company. No wonder they won the contract, they could care less about people and how much work they put into their property. They can't tell the difference between dormant lavender and grass, dormant lantana and weeds. They also have no problems backing their tree trucks over bushes and sitting them on top of water lines that are clearly marked. Not that my 1 star review is much different than the others here, but I figured I'd share my story. Duke energy hired these clowns to come trim trees near power lines in the very back of our yard. These imbeciles show up at 7 am, unannounced, and hang out on my front porch, smoking, and spitting who knows what in my front yard. I didn't know this at the time but when I checked my security camera.. it was quite the surprise. Next, they proceed to tear down my fence in the process of "tree trimming." It took them one week to fix. Finally, they massacred my brand new rose bush. How did they do that?? By letting 1/4 of my back yard fence fall onto it because they couldn't judge how to trim a tree (they let branches fall all over the place). Oh and they stepped and stomped all over my plants and flowers too.. that I have on camera. These people are paid to damage property. I wish them the very worst. Asplundh trimmed/butchered a tree in our front yard for Duke energy on Monday, 5/13. The upper limbs they cut fell onto the lower limbs and caught a wire, which eventually pulled away from the pole. They reattached the wire, but since it had been stretched to breaking, it now hangs low, low! Called Asplundh & they said there's nothing they could do. Called Duke energy & they said nothing they could do since not a power line. Called Spectrum, they came and looked & said it's a telephone line. Just got off the phone with Lumos ( formerly North State) & they said someone would come and look and see if it's their line. Just frustrated that I'm the one making the calls when it wasn't me that messed up the line!! Would not recommend this service to my enemy. They caused the problem, then didn't want to fix it. This company did work in my neighborhood this week. I will assume that they were hired by the utility. They left debris in my yard from tress on somebody else's property. It has been over 24 hours and the mess is still sitting. I called and was told that company policy is that they have 24-48 hours to remove the debris. As if their company policy means anything at all to me since they were not hired be me. I specifically asked if company policy is to disregard individual property rights, I got a non-reply. I was told that the job supervisor would call me by CoB that same day..... as I enter this review at 6:09 PM - no reply and nobody cleaning up the mess. So apparently policy is cut limbs from property "A" and dump the debris in the yard across the street property, "B", and not clean it up or respond to complaints. Duke power hired them to butcher the trees on our property. They cut the tops off of the cedar trees, which will not grow back and left the trunks. They could have at least cut them to fence height. Their arm machine went through and the guy using it even cut in on the sides of the trees vs just the part facing the power lines. These cedar trees were far away from the power lines and weren't going to be a problem. They left cut fallen branches on our side of the fence, and just clearly did not care about the trees health. read more

Asplundh, contracted by Duke, came onto our property while I was at work and cut down two large trees that were not a threat to their lines. One of these was shielding us from an eyesore next door. It will take years to remedy this. They knocked down a snake fence in the process and left a mess. They also cut down three expensive rare trees I had planted and a red mulberry tree we depended on for fruit. A weeping cherry tree was also destroyed. Their only notification was a door hanger stating "routine trimming may be required. " When I protested, their response was " only brush was cut", despite the fact that the logs are still there. This company was working trimming trees away from wires alongside the road. I came home to find one of their trucks turning around in the middle of my yard 1/2 way down my driveway. I did not hire them and gave absolutely zero consent for them to access my yard (way far away from the right away zone). I literally lost it. Who the heck turns a truck around in the middle of a homeowners yard where they had absolutely no business being. I confronted the guy and he wouldn't even look at me. Wasn't sorry and had no remorse for putting ruts in my grass with his heavy two ton truck. I have called to report this and not one person from this lousy company will call back. This company cut down half of a 150 year old Nellis Pear tree whose branches were not even as tall as the power line. I would not have minded if they trimmed it, but to cut half of it? Tree expert is their name? They have no expertise ither than destroying your personal property. If you have a door hanger telling you that they are trimming marked trees, ask that they do not do anything without you personally present. We had a door hanger saying they marked trees for trimming.
