I'm always apprehensive when I hire a contractor to do work. Our driveway was 20 years old and had low spots with puddles and had weeds starting to grow out of cracks. I noticed some driveways A few miles away had recently been paved and looked incredible. I stopped and spoke to Pete from Associated who came to my home and gave me a price that was much lower than any of the other quotes we had gotten. He explained that they used large industrial equipment because they were primarily in the business of paving parking lots for businesses I agree to have them pave my driveway and they came and tore up the old asphalt with one of those machines you see out on the highways. There was a slight delay after that due to weather which was completely out of their control. They came back and paved the driveway thicker than it was before. It is now perfectly smooth and even. We could not be more pleased with the work, the professionalism, and frankly the friendly nature that Pete brings to his business If you need paving done I would highly recommend Associated for the job. read more

CONARTIST/THIEVES!!! Coned my 83 year old mother out of $60k. Peter George Sr was hunting for his next target at the bar at a high-end restaurant (Undici) and found my mother. Sweet talked her into letting him resurface her driveway for $20k, ripped out the driveway and that is when he goes for the kill. Added an additional $40k in "change orders" At one point he was crying in her living room that his mother died (I've read this same story in reviews of one of his several other companies that he has abandoned), which was why he hadn't completed the job. He also claimed to have been in the hospital during the stoppage of any work (he doesn't do any of the actual work). He has been sued dozens of times in county court for similar non completion of work. Most of the positive reviews on here are fake. read more

My wife and I bought a house, the driveway needed to be replaced after machinery damaged it during installation of septic system. We got a quote from a company (not APC) that said it was going to be 6500 to replace driveway and widen it in areas. The sellers said the quote was too high and did not want to give concessions. They got Pete from APC to come out and he gave a quote that was 2k lower than ours, and this quote was the basis for lower concessions given to us at the closing. Now in hindsight, my wife and I made a mistake. We are first time homeowners, and are a little too trusting. So we thought, hey a lower quote is good, we'll use them. We did not do our our research. Called Pete, he came out, seemed like a nice young man. Talked about going to church. Said he would honor the quote, he could do it for that much no problem, very agreeable guy. Told us what we wanted to hear (like a good con-man). Well, turns out Pete is a typical sales guy who tells you what you want to hear to hook you, and once all that machinery is parked in your driveway and tearing it up, you have little choice but to pay up. So at the bottom of the contract it says, "We are responsible for removal of only 1 layer of any kind of surface, anything more than 1 layer will be an additional charge." Well turns out that makes the $4,360 price turn into 8500 dollars. And that nice, easy going Pete you saw in blue suede shoes and 50,000 dollar truck with a Bose soundsystem suddenly turns into a hardliner that forces your wife to pay up, no questions asked. He did not widen the driveway in parts in had said (to cover a crack in sidewalk), there are soft spots in the driveway that I can literally press down on with my foot, and water pools at the base of garage. Does not appear to be 2 layers of asphalt as he told my wife at the time. And good luck getting Pete to come out to fix it, because you will never see him again. He will send you a million text messages, tell you he'll do a sealcoating in the fall when "things slow down," tell you a million stories of why he hasn't come out yet. But I know a liar when I see when. Just wish I spotted it sooner. read more

Being a business owner myself I know what it's like to have disappointed customers give you bad reviews and the good reviews go unposted. That being said I read the above reviews and decided to give Associated Paving a try. They did not disappoint. Their price/quote was well below the other 3 estimates that my husband got from other companies. They called and sent texts numerous times to make sure we were all on the same page as to when the work would be done and finished. This is a family owned business and I could not be more pleased with the work and friendly nature that Pete and family brings to it. If you need paving done I would recommend Associated Paving for the job. As with any company make sure to get a contract with a start date and a completion date as well as payment expectations. read more

Pete and his crew were very quick to respond and return my phone call. The job on my driveway was done professionally. All workers showed up wearing masks and maintained social distance measures. They answered all my questions and were very friendly. All work was completed in a timely fashion and they did not disappoint. My yard and the work area was spotless when they left. read more

Pete contacted me and said he needed to wait till the spring. Fast forward to the spring, he came out and fixed it..everything looks great.

Recently hired this company to do asphalt resurfacing and sealcoating of my driveway.The work was done but there were bumps in the driveway surface, the laying of the asphalt was uneven, sand was rolled into the asphalt during the resurface work, black asphalt and oily sealant was all over my newly laid border pavers..and the list goes on and on. Their work is sloppy to say the least. After reaching out to the owner's son for over a month to address these issues, many of my calls were ignored. When he finally returned my calls and came out to repair the mistakes that I listed above..mainly cleaning/fixing my damaged pavers, the workers left my surrounding yard a mess. I would definitely NOT be using this company again..Please stay away.... read more

Associated Paving was AMAZING! I hired them to widen my driveway and put a fresh coat over the rest of my driveway. When they are started to work we came to find that the owners before me had already put numerous (4 layers) of asphalt. Pete and his team immediately disclosed this to us, showed us the numerous layers and shared their solution. The entire crew was polite, on time, reliable & they made sure each day when they left everything was extremely clean. I had received proposals from three other contractors for my job, and Associated was the most detailed with their proposal for the work I wanted done. WHAT A PLEASURE having this company work for me and not have to babysit their work. They performed all the work we had agreed on and then some. From initial contact, to job completion the best, great communication, their workers are knowledgeable in all aspects of paving and very courteous, their equipment is state of the art and in tip top condition. Pete was paving two driveways for new home construction next door to me. I contacted him and got a great price on multiple projects. He tore up bad spots of my 4000 sq foot driveway and replaced. He raised the driveway at the street to eliminate run off. Pete also took up the old sidewalk from the driveway to the house and put in papers and block. Like many others Pete took my deposit and never did the job! I signed a contract with him in January to do my driveway as soon as the weather warmed up enough to do it, according to him beginning of March. After May rolled around I started making countless calls and got no response or on the rare occurrence when he would answer I would get some lame excuse. I threatened legal action in early July, 6 months after he took my money. He finally showed up, partially graded the driveway to pave, then left again. It wasn't until August that I convinced him to give me my deposit back but he would only give me part of it back because "he had done some work". I ended up losing $1,200.00 to this scam artist. I didn't think people like this really existed. He will bring a kid with him who he says is his son but I don't even believe that. Stay far away from this Company, I am convinced any good review on here is fake! read more

Poor quality work. Unresponsive to any form of communication (phone, email, text). Refuses to fix defects in work (driveway paving).

Company agreed to do work took a deposit then pushed the job back. They said they were going to work with me on site to make sure the grade of the driveway was perfect. Then tried to schedule the job for when I wasn't available. They said they measured the driveway and took transit measurements of the driveway but actually never came to the site until the picked up the deposit. They will not answer calls regularly and will not refund my deposit. I would give them 0 stars if possible. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If you want to know more about them just search their previous company names; everlasting paving and pavers, Jersey shore asphalt, all new paving and concrete, and D&G asphalt. All of which have horrible reviews. Their address in freehold is the UPS store in a strip mall. Even the fact that the father's voice mail doesn't even have the company name in it should be evidence that they are not a legitimate company. I have been trying to get my money back from a job they cannot complete to the standard we agreed on for over a month and they have used every excuse imaginable. read more
