Number 1 cause of Lung Cancer in persons who don't smoke. When looking for a company to do radon migration I came across Radon Technology. The owner came to do an estimate and trust me when I say my house set up was going to be hard to do from my utility room. Sure the owner could have done the easy way and stuck in a closet but when he learned of my desire he made it happen. The day of install owner comes out with tech to give him the overview and make sure all parties were on same page. Technician was Brad and what a fine individual. He was very efficient and knowledgeable and made sure that everything was installed correctly and clean. After installation Brad walked me through the entire system explaining what I needed to know. I highly recommend Radon Technology and ask for Brad as your technician. My levels have already dropped several points. Price was very respectable for this level of work.

Great service, came out for a quote within a day and had the radon mitigation system installed in within the week. The team was fast, clean and courteous, they were done in about 2 hours. Was pleased with the quoted price and they didn't charge any extras for the work done, either.

I would NOT even consider hiring a "certified mold firm" who does not thoroughly understand…read moreMYCOTOXIN remediation. And I want it in writing on their website as that is a legal document. What most people do not understand are: 1) you can have a mold infestation in a house that looks and smells clean, and does not have visible mold or mold smells, and 2) mold that has been removed or remediated leave behind deadly mycotoxins that most remediators or removal specialists DO NOT address, and 3) many remediators or removal specialists use chemical formulas that cause more harm than good. There is a lot of bad so-called science on the web and in marketing materials. I am very grateful to have found American Mold Experts and Bill Niccol. Bill is an incredible wealth of knowledge on the dangers of mold and mycotoxins as well as how to make a home mold and mycotoxin safe. And while I agree with the other reviewer who said the report doesn't state a lot, but my realtor has seen other mold reports and said they had the same level of detail. More importantly, Bill did explain a great deal to me over the phone and Karen was quick to respond to my email and answer my question about what is generally regarded as a safe level of mold. WOW they found an infestation of several dangerous mold species and mycotoxins in a charming home that appeared very pristine and which I very much wanted to buy. THANK YOU. I would be very sick in that house. It is heart-breaking and I hope the seller chooses to remediate the home with American Mold Experts. NEVER buy a home without a mold and mycotoxin test by a highly qualified professional. Do not use your general home inspector for this. If I had known this sooner then I would not have ended up living in a moldy house that made me very ill. I am disabled now.

Disappointed and Concerned by ProSource Restoration's Business Practices…read more I hired ProSource Restoration following a sump pump failure that resulted in approximately six inches of water in my basement. While the initial response to remove the water and damaged materials was timely, my overall experience with the company was deeply concerning and, in my opinion, indicative of questionable business practices. The first issue stemmed from poor internal communication. I was told by an office representative that the crew would have an extra sump pump on hand in case mine needed replacement. Once the crew completed the water extraction, they informed me that my sump pump was, in fact, broken--but contrary to what I had been told, they were unable to replace it. When I called the office back for clarification, I was told, "they can't replace your sump pump because they aren't plumbers." This forced me to scramble to find an emergency plumber with limited time and resources. Shortly after, the office called back to say they had someone in their network who could handle the replacement--at a last-minute emergency rate of $800. When the plumber arrived, he informed me that only $400 of that amount was for his services, and the remaining $400 was a fee charged by ProSource for arranging the job. In effect, I was charged $400 simply for a referral. Furthermore, despite standard industry practices, ProSource did not provide any dehumidifiers during the drying process. Yet, on the first invoice I received, they included a nearly $400 charge for equipment that was never brought to my property. Additionally, every line item included an "after hours" surcharge--even though ProSource advertises 24/7 service and most of the work was performed during regular business hours. I requested that the humidifier charge be removed and that the after-hours premiums be revised accordingly. To their credit, they complied. However, after addressing those concerns, I received a revised invoice that included over $500 in new charges, which they claimed they had "forgot" to include on the original. Among these was what appeared to be a duplicate charge and a nearly $200 "labor minimum" fee that was never explained to me. Again, I had to engage in back-and-forth discussions to resolve these new discrepancies. While several of the billing issues were eventually addressed, the overall experience left me feeling taken advantage of during a vulnerable moment. It became clear that the company was intent on billing up to the full limit of my insurance coverage, regardless of the actual scope of work--something even my insurance agent found questionable, noting that similar jobs typically cost around $3,000, while ProSource's charges approached the $5,000 policy limit. My overall experience with ProSource is that they made it easy for me to communicate with the office team and responded quickly to my requests, but they also displayed blatant attempts to further expose me to financial hardship in a time of vulnerability. I strongly caution others to review every invoice carefully and ask detailed questions before agreeing to services. Emergencies are stressful enough without having to worry about being overbilled or misled.

However, the basement was not finished, but had rough-in plumbing installed. We were looking for someone to finish the basement (4 rooms total), including adding an additional bedroom with closet and full bathroom. This included all electrical, plumbing, framing, drywall, door installation, flooring, trim, and painting. Mike was quick to respond to my original inquiry, come check out the space, and provide a quote. He was timely, friendly, and easy to collaborate with. We changed our mind a few times on final design - we appreciate how patient he was with us while we narrowed in on the final plan. The final quote was very detailed and he provided helpful information on the areas for potential cost increase (given that the home is old and there could have been unexpected things identified after work begun). This helped us set our expectations for the project. During the project, he kept us up to date on progress or concerns and kept the area very clean (ensuring very little debris made its way outside the basement into our home). He managed all of the subcontractors (electric, plumbing, carpet, etc) so we didn't need to worry about a thing. Made it super easy by having one point of contact! His work speaks for itself. There were a lot of difficult aspects of the basement to figure out (i.e. uneven walls and ceilings, tricky vents or pipes along the ceiling, water/electrical shutoffs needing to be accessible, etc), but he managed to turn the space into exactly what we were looking for. The attention to detail makes all the difference! In the end, the project took about two months (including carpet installation) and final cost was in line with the estimate. I'd recommend Reid's Home Repair to anyone!
