The way they left my mirrored dresser that THEY HAD BROKEN; turned sideways

They deserve negative stars! First off, Faith kept hounding me to book my move with them, (1st red flag). Then after checking a couple other company's prices, I did book with them. She sent an email confirming the move info. The rate was $99/hr with a minimum of 2 hours plus a $39 service fee. This was supposed to cover disassembly and reassembly of my furniture. On the day of the move, Saturda, Dec. 4, 2021, I had to contact their office to get an exact time because they had not contacted me and when they got there, there was no business/company name on their truck, (2nd red flag). They arrived and started around 2:15pm and within an hour broke my $700 mirrored dresser! Miguel advised that it was his fault as he didn't ask the other mover for help carrying the dresser that we confirmed was heavy before he took it downstairs. He told me to call the office and speak to his manager about my damaged furniture. I did and was given 2 options: to take $50 for the damage (which the manager stated was the standard insurance coverage at $.60 per pound), or allow them send someone to repair it. I chose to have it repaired. They said they would send me a claim form and send someone out to my apartment to repair it the following Monday or Tuesday. There were 2 movers, but only 1 was really doing any work. The other was talking on his phone the entire time, while walking very slowly to take the lightest things he could get out of my apartment. Instead of taking them to the truck, he sat my things outside on the concrete down the hallway, leading to/from the elevator, in the way, where everyone could see and pick up anything they wanted. 5 hours later, they finally finished loading my 2 bedroom apartment onto the truck and we were on our way to my new apartment. It took them about an hour to get to my new apartment because they stopped at the convenience store first, then couldn't find the entrance to my apartment complex. After about 2 hours of them unloading my things, (still having a lot more to unload and to reassemble), at 9:06pm, the manager, Joseph, or someone from the office texts me the total charge for the move; $748 for 7.17 hours! First off, it should never take and has never taken 7 hrs to move a 2 bd apartment, nor has it ever cost this much! So, I argued with the manager advising him that only one of the movers was working and the other was moving slowly while talking on the phone the entire time and not helping move anything heavy, which is why my dresser got broken to begin with, and also why it took them 7+ hours to move my 2 bd apartment! It has never taken more than 3.5 hrs to move me every other time prior to this and I have always had a 2 bd. I said I shouldn't have to pay for one of their workers barely working and moving slowly on purpose to make it take longer, not to mention for them breaking my dresser. After about 15-20 mins of arguing with him, he gave me a "discount" of $148, leaving the total at $600 as if this was a big favor to me, saying they stopped the clock for me on the move. But they stopped the clock because they knew it shouldn't take that long to move a 2 bedroom apartment. But by this time they were skeptical of whether I would pay them or not and I was skeptical of whether they would fix my furniture that they broke. So I had him to send me the claim form to fill out and then I would send the money. In the meantime, while I was filling out the form, they had the workers STOP WORKING AND STOP BRINGING MY THINGS INTO MY APARTMENT. They were just standing outside by the truck. After I filled out the form and sent it back, I Zelled the $600 to them and never received confirmation that they received it. A new guy showed up around 10:00pm and just came into my apartment, didn't introduce himself and went into my bedroom. My mom went and asked him who he was and he just said he was with the company. I do not know his name or why he showed up that late. They brought a few more things in, then suddenly left with my front door still open, us stilwaiting on them to finish bringing my things in and they didn't say anything to us. My mom just happened to look outside and THE TRUCK WAS GONE WITH SOME OF MY THINGS STILL IN IT!! I immediately called them and the mgr answered. I was livid! I said "You had the guys leave with no notification and without even finishing the job?!" He responded saying "Well you only paid us $600, right? So, that's all we're doing for $600." After arguing with him a few minutes, he hung in my face. They had not reassembled anything, left my clothes dryer sitting in the middle of the floor, my dressers turned sideways in the middle of the floor, and didn't even bring all my things in from the truck! My TV was missing, my 3-step ladder and some bags of clothes were missing! When I realized my TV was missing, I called back and got no answer. Then I texted and told them they were thieves and that they had stolen my TV. He texted back laughing...

Do not recommend! Movers were over two hours late, cursing and rude. Some of my items were broken AND I was overcharged.

BEWARE - BAIT-AND-SWITCH PRICING!…read more I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent experience with this company deserves one. I chose Firehouse Movers because of their glowing Google reviews, and their initial estimate was very competitive. Unfortunately, the final bill was a complete shock. To begin with, they insisted on a virtual estimate and refused to come out in person and assess the job. This was a 5000 sq ft home full of furniture, and I wanted the most accurate estimate possible. I asked multiple times for an in-person estimate, but my requests were declined. By moving day, I had sold two-bedroom sets and several other large pieces of furniture that were included in the original estimate. Even with significantly fewer items to move, the final price was more than double the original estimate. On the day of the move, I somehow went from needing two trucks, as stated in the estimate, to four. And from 9 to 17 total man hours. At the end of a long day, my husband just wanted them gone, so he reluctantly paid the bill before they could log anymore hours. When I called to discuss the bill, Firehouse claimed I had verbally approved the additional associated costs over the phone, citing a recording, which was completely false. I have asked multiple times for this recording, but I have not received it. That was not a small miscalculation. Our move was grossly underestimated. This whole experience felt misleading and dishonest. Stay away.

**Caution to Future Customers**…read more I have previously used 2 Men and a Truck on three occasions, but my most recent experience was incredibly disappointing and far from the quality of service I once received. The team that handled my move appeared poorly trained and unprepared. I don't know of anywhere in the DFW metroplex that takes two hours to arrive, yet my move clock started at 8 AM, and they didn't show up to my condo until 9:58 AM. Upon their arrival, they disregarded the guidance provided by the building loadmaster, leading to numerous issues. My furniture was not wrapped properly or protected with blankets, which is standard practice for moving. They also failed to follow building rules by neglecting to line the floors with blankets or protect the walls while moving in and out of the condo and elevators, despite having signed documents acknowledging these standard operating procedures. Additionally, the movers carelessly transported items downstairs to the basement, leaning them against the walls without any padding. For instance, my television was placed directly against the wall, exposing it to potential damage. A move that should have taken no more than four hours ended up taking seven, and I was confronted with attempted upcharges, which I ultimately refused. After this distressing experience, I filed a claim but have faced nothing but frustration as their leadership has given me the runaround. I provided them with photos documenting the situation and have expressed that I have nothing further to add. Their management is aware that they packed my furniture for storage but has done nothing to address these issues. In my opinion, if a customer demonstrates that their equipment was not safely packed--and that a $4,000 TV and $6,000 worth of beds were treated carelessly--any responsible company would be eager to resolve the matter. Below, you'll find pictures illustrating the condition in which my condo was left and how my valuable furniture was treated. I strongly recommend seeking a different moving service. It is evident that this company has rapidly declined in quality.

They sent 4 young men this time, maybe because we have stairs. These gentlemen were an absolute delight and managed to shave some time (money) off because they were so quick! I cannot recommend Two Men enough. They are outstanding and always go above and beyond. Thank y'all
