My experience with Mike was great and I would highly recommend his company for honesty, knowledge, resources and fair pricing. We have a rare basement in our home in Encinitas that was starting to smell musty. With the humid summer and coming from Ohio where musty basements are the norm we didn't think anything of it until we tried to rent it out. Our property manager wanted us to rip out the carpet to solve the problem but we knew the carpet wasn't the issue. We hired a separate company from Assured Restoration to do a mold inspection and test and while it came up high for Penicillium the inspection turned up no visual mold or water issues. They recommended getting the air scrubbed and improve some ventilation in our dirt crawl space area. We brought in 3 different companies to quote out the job of cleaning the air. The first one came in quickly, didn't ask to look at our inspection report and told us they found the source of mold (even though the inspector found nothing) and then called us every day pushing to get the sale. The second company took 2 days to get us scheduled and then didn't come to the appointment. Then finally we found Mike. He asked to see our report first and was extremely friendly and upfront on the phone. When he came out to inspect he brought a general contractor to give a quote to install ventilation so we didn't have to spend more time finding someone separate. His inspection was very thorough and it was very clear he is very knowledgeable about mold and water issues and how to address them. He concurred with our initial inspection that there was no mold problem like the first company wanted us to believe and educated me that our dirt in the crawl space was what was affecting the quality of air. Then he amazed me by telling me how to clean the air myself and advising me that it was something I could do on my own. He still gave me a quote for bringing in his commercial equipment which was about 20% less than the first company. While we chose to take his advice and clean it ourselves, I wouldn't hesitate to hire Mike to do any type of restoration services. It is rare to find someone who has integrity and knowledge. Mike made our mold remediation experience a pleasant one and I can't say enough positive things about him and his crew. After scouring the county for an honest, dependable mold remediation company, and learning that the industry is full of scams, I found Assured. We live in a condo and had moisture issues and black mold in our adjoining wall. Mike was extremely knowledgable and helpful from the first minute I spoke with him on the phone. He came out right away and wasted no time uncovering the moisture and mold in the wall. Our issue was complex because the affected wall was attached to the unit next door, and the neighbors did not take immediate action to find the source of the problem on their side (a separated dryer vent). Mike was patient every step of the way, going above and beyond to help us deal with the HOA, the insurance company, and our neighbors, and even postponing the work as needed. He gave us sound advice, priced his work competitively, and did solid, reliable work. As a female I wanted someone in my home that I could trust, and with whom I was comfortable being alone with. I felt more than safe with Mike and his crew; Mike is personable and professional. He even gave us tips on how do some DIY projects around our house. Mike is also a licensed contractor so he not only did the remediation but he handled the repairs as well. I was amazed at the integrity of his work and the CLEANLINESS! We have had repairs and remediation in our home before and it was left messy or not put entirely back to original condition. After Mike was done, the room looked better than before, I couldn't believe it! I wish I could call Assured for all my household needs! Found these guys on a different online directory and they had great reviews so we called them to our house to do an inspection in our garage. Turns out we had a lot of mold in our ceiling area not just i the garage but also in our laundry room which is right next to our guest bedroom. We had a suspicion which was confirmed. Anyways service was great. They were fast to arrive at our home, inspection only took about 20 minutes, and then the cleanup and restoration probably only an hour. Not sure how long most restoration companies take to clean up a space but this all seemed fast to me.
