The several times I flew out of here, I arrived an hour before my flight, used my app to check-in, check my bags and go through TSA in less 20mins lol. American Airlines only fly in and out of this airport and they always fly to the DFW airport for your connecting flight unless your final destination is in DFW. Flights to and from this airport is definitely more expensive vs if you flew out of Houston or Austin, but if you mind the 1.75hrs drive and possible traffic and don't mind spending a little more convenience, then this is a great option. There's ample parking, a small area to chill and eat and a decent sized waiting area for your gate. There are only 2 gates so you won't get lost lol. All staff that I've dealt with have been nothing, but super friendly and fast. I live less than 10mins from here so I've always had a free ride so I don't know how the parking situation is here or how much it costs per day.

The runway area is fairly large, which helps with the military-related air traffic and of course the private jets that probably come in on a football weekend. You won't find that kind of deal in downtown Austin, let alone any other food spot at the airport. There are only 34 gates and the TSA line moved pretty quickly, even during a government shutdown, so there's no need to arrive here too early.

The location is a bit remote, but it's well marked and easy to find. Be sure to get exact directions to your plane, as there are several charter companies and privately owned facilities. Each one will have their own little waiting areas and you will walk directly to the plane. No jet ways here. Another neat thing is you can oogle planes all you like as you drive in and taxi. There are some beautiful birds sitting out there. All in all, a nice facility.

Its not a large footprint, but ample enough so one will not feel crowded. As of this post there are 3 commercial flights between Waco and Dallas that cover a distance of 90 miles, and 50 minutes via American Eagle. The flights tend to be booked as American Eagle are normally staffed / managed by 3rd parties. Because of various reasons the outsourcing of these flights can result in delays. I some times question if it's easier to drive or fly between Dallas and Waco, or potentially fly into Austin. But if flying it's an easy commute flight if the connections make sense. I have flown into Waco several times and have never had a bad experience at this facility.

Plenty of restaurants, fast food, and souvenir outlets to suit every taste. I found service personnel to be quite courteous. I well remember when assigned to a diplomatic post in South America and there was only one airport flying to my post's destination. When Houston started flights there, it was like manna from heaven.
