DEC 2020 Astin Aviation in College Station, TX ( NW from Houston) Beautiful Modern facility. Attentive Line Staff. Friendly Costumer Service. They have different rooms/offices according to what you need including a small screen Theater with very comfortable leather recliners and Military Brief room. Plenty of connectors to charge your phone or laptop inside the facility. While fueling cars are available for your personal use. They also have the $1 per person meal deal. Ask the staff. Military Brief room also has other goodies.

Absolutely the most professional group of people and supportive of everything we were here to do. We got in town to support hurricane relief efforts and perform search and rescue in the wake of hurricane Harvey. Hats off to this establishment as well as the entire town of college station. Your support for us was well received. Hope to come back to Texas one day on better terms. If youre ever doing a cross country and need a good spot to stop don't miss this one. #Texas #hurricanerelief #HSC7 #usnavy #soothersmaylive

The several times I flew out of here, I arrived an hour before my flight, used my app to check-in, check my bags and go through TSA in less 20mins lol. American Airlines only fly in and out of this airport and they always fly to the DFW airport for your connecting flight unless your final destination is in DFW. Flights to and from this airport is definitely more expensive vs if you flew out of Houston or Austin, but if you mind the 1.75hrs drive and possible traffic and don't mind spending a little more convenience, then this is a great option. There's ample parking, a small area to chill and eat and a decent sized waiting area for your gate. There are only 2 gates so you won't get lost lol. All staff that I've dealt with have been nothing, but super friendly and fast. I live less than 10mins from here so I've always had a free ride so I don't know how the parking situation is here or how much it costs per day.

This is not an airport to come and hang out too early to avoid the "crowds". The runway area is fairly large, which helps with the military-related air traffic and of course the private jets that probably come in on a football weekend. The Texas A&M fire school is still close by, and the ride into the main campus area is longer than I remember when I first landed here in 1979.

Once in, the driver explained the process when coming back and to write down parking location and what gates he was stopping. Ending up giving him a good tip. Once I arrived at the airport, waited until the airline employee was ready to check people in. Had the tickets already printed to it was breeze! Going to security was another positive experience. Line wasn't long (5am) and the Jet blue employee was friendly and helpful. I was at my gate in no time. My longest wait was actually waiting to board the plane at the gate!

As a passenger, you are gonna have a bad time. Reasons: - Airport structure is too small - Constantly way past capacity with the number of passengers and staff within it. - So, not enough seating - Insufficient bathroom facilities throughout. All bathrooms are small, antiquated, crowded, hot AF, always full & therefore filthy. Can't blame cleaning staff. They have to close bathrooms just to clean them. - the heat works, but the AC doesn't work Apparently airport mgmt is fine keeping temps at 79 and 80 degrees. Add in crowds of passengers who have to take a leak or an urgent dump, and yes, everywhere is on edge, sweating their sacks off. This is one of the worst aspects that they refuse to address/fix. - the California granolas they allow to sing and play guitar badly only adds insult to injury If you can avoid it for another 5 years, until it's expanded, then do so.

In the lower gate A numbers (A1-A15) they now have 2 new eating restaurants. In addition to the Breakfast Klub (southern breakfast/brunch food), they now have Simone Biles Taste of Gold (American, cocktails) & El Tiempo Cantina (Mexican, cocktails). I'm pretty sure they changed out a few of the fast food restaurants but I honestly didn't look at those. They had live music in the center near Breakfast Klub, in the area they call "Symphony in the Air". The live saxophonist & drummer sounded really great. Another change was the exit to baggage claim. It was surprisingly a much longer walk! From the lower A gates you now must walk all the way around toward the higher gates to get to the baggage claim exit. Its about a 5 min walk to get to the baggage exit/escalators. During this walk through the connector hallway of the lower & higher A gates, there is an Art display area called "Houston Airport Artist in Residence (AIR)". The display from local artist is wonderful to see. The enhancements for terminal A are good. Previously, it always felt like one of the more neglected terminals. I know IAH still has a lot of construction underway. I look forward to seeing additional airport improvements.

I arrived mid-afternoon, they must've timed the flights out right! I hate when I arrive to an airport and there's loads of people waiting to board my flight and watching us as we exit the plane. Facilities are maintained, traffic is structured, and services are readily available, which sets it apart from smaller private airstrips in the region. While it can be busy at times due to training and business traffic, this is a strength rather than a drawback for pilots who value infrastructure, safety, and reliability. Terminal 2 was clear when I arrived so I didn't have to run through a bunch of people, it was a pleasant arrival. Signage for bag claim and shuttles could've been slightly better. I was able to navigate fairly easily for the most part, however it seems the closer you get to your destination it's easier to get confused or lost. I adored the astronaut cow near the IAH entrance and the big photo-op letters! The quirky cowboy aesthetic was phenomenal. I arrived during the World Cup so the airport had plenty of soccer mannequins and memorabilia. Gift shops had space suits and Astros merch. The gentlemen at the shuttle/rideshare area were so nice! They gave me thorough directions on where to locate The Parking Spot shuttle. Additionally, when I returned a few days later for departure I had a favorable experience with a Clear TSA agent, she was very polite and helpful. I never have heartwarming experiences with TSA, I did here! She walked me through the fast lane process and brought levity to a stressful environment for many.
