While exploring around Brenham, we decided to drive out to it for lunch. It was unique, and had great burgers & shakes, and good, friendly service. We watched a smaller plane taxi up relatively close to the restaurant and a traveling family got off and came in for a burger while their plane was being refueled. After eating, they then boarded and took off. I write this now because we were planning another trip to Brenham, remembered our lunch here, and looked it up on Yelp to find it again; and decided to post our last experience.

Dennis stayed right with him while I checked in and got our boarding passes. And shoutout to "Q" at the ticket counter for making that process quick and easy. Dennis then walked us through security up to his office on the second level where Matt met us to examine the injuries. Matt put 9 stitches in my husband's hand that had been sliced open and checked out his other abrasions. (It could have been so much worse!) Then they walked us to our gate to assure flight personnel that he was fit to travel. Our flight out was delayed, so we were able to rejoin our group and not miss our flight. And shoutout to Austin Bergstrom Airport for employing a PA to have for emergencies such as this!

The lines weren't long at all going through TSA. I guess that depends on when you arrive/depart. ;) There are a lot of good food options and chances to buy souvenirs, etc.

Wow. I haven't flown out of IAH terminal A in several years! Much to…read moremy surprise there were some notable changes. In the lower gate A numbers (A1-A15) they now have 2 new eating restaurants. In addition to the Breakfast Klub (southern breakfast/brunch food), they now have Simone Biles Taste of Gold (American, cocktails) & El Tiempo Cantina (Mexican, cocktails). I'm pretty sure they changed out a few of the fast food restaurants but I honestly didn't look at those. They had live music in the center near Breakfast Klub, in the area they call "Symphony in the Air". The live saxophonist & drummer sounded really great. Another change was the exit to baggage claim. It was surprisingly a much longer walk! From the lower A gates you now must walk all the way around toward the higher gates to get to the baggage claim exit. Its about a 5 min walk to get to the baggage exit/escalators. During this walk through the connector hallway of the lower & higher A gates, there is an Art display area called "Houston Airport Artist in Residence (AIR)". The display from local artist is wonderful to see. The enhancements for terminal A are good. Previously, it always felt like one of the more neglected terminals. I know IAH still has a lot of construction underway. I look forward to seeing additional airport improvements.

This is a temporary arrangement due to construction. IAH construction is going on since forever and is especially hard on International Arrival. Really hope it gets sorted out soon

Cute little airport with plenty of hangar space to park your airplane if you're lucky enough to own…read moreone. Service Air-Patrol is here too and you'll see some military aircraft as well. Galaxy FBO can be found here to fuel up and make a pit-stop. The Black Walnut Cafe has a restaurant here so I may be back for breakfast before an airplane ride. We have friends with airplanes parked here and we spent a fun afternoon flying. It didn't seem very busy compared to other executive airports I've been to and it's not far from the Woodlands.

Drive up at the facility, wait till you're given the all clear, get on the plane and fly away. No lines, no aggravation and no arriving 2 hours ahead of time. The location is a bit remote, but it's well marked and easy to find. Be sure to get exact directions to your plane, as there are several charter companies and privately owned facilities. Each one will have their own little waiting areas and you will walk directly to the plane. No jet ways here. Another neat thing is you can oogle planes all you like as you drive in and taxi. There are some beautiful birds sitting out there. All in all, a nice facility.

Its not a large footprint, but ample enough so one will not feel crowded. As of this post there are 3 commercial flights between Waco and Dallas that cover a distance of 90 miles, and 50 minutes via American Eagle. The flights tend to be booked as American Eagle are normally staffed / managed by 3rd parties. Because of various reasons the outsourcing of these flights can result in delays. I some times question if it's easier to drive or fly between Dallas and Waco, or potentially fly into Austin. But if flying it's an easy commute flight if the connections make sense. I have flown into Waco several times and have never had a bad experience at this facility.
