The several times I flew out of here, I arrived an hour before my flight, used my app to check-in, check my bags and go through TSA in less 20mins lol. American Airlines only fly in and out of this airport and they always fly to the DFW airport for your connecting flight unless your final destination is in DFW. Flights to and from this airport is definitely more expensive vs if you flew out of Houston or Austin, but if you mind the 1.75hrs drive and possible traffic and don't mind spending a little more convenience, then this is a great option. There's ample parking, a small area to chill and eat and a decent sized waiting area for your gate. There are only 2 gates so you won't get lost lol. All staff that I've dealt with have been nothing, but super friendly and fast. I live less than 10mins from here so I've always had a free ride so I don't know how the parking situation is here or how much it costs per day.

This is not an airport to come and hang out too early to avoid the "crowds". The runway area is fairly large, which helps with the military-related air traffic and of course the private jets that probably come in on a football weekend. Dennis stayed right with him while I checked in and got our boarding passes. And shoutout to "Q" at the ticket counter for making that process quick and easy. Dennis then walked us through security up to his office on the second level where Matt met us to examine the injuries. Matt put 9 stitches in my husband's hand that had been sliced open and checked out his other abrasions. (It could have been so much worse!) Then they walked us to our gate to assure flight personnel that he was fit to travel. Our flight out was delayed, so we were able to rejoin our group and not miss our flight. This airport is United Airlines' main hub. Not only that, the options for domestic and international flights are endless. I'd say that George Bush Intercontinental Airport has to be one of the busiest airports around due to the huge crowd of travelers going in and out. The airport was quite gigantic in general and took a bit of time to navigate between gates. There were a total of five passenger terminals (A, B, C, D, E). All of these terminals are connected and can be accessed with either the Skyway train or the Subway train. What stood out to me was the gorgeous, modern presentation of the atmosphere. I loved the installations of the decorative architectural ceiling as well as the colorful LED lights. The nice variety of dining was in abundance. Restaurants included options such as Agave Taqueria, Auntie Anne's, Bam Bam, Chick-Fil-A, Blaze Pizza, El Tiempo, Landry's Seafood, Panda Express, Peet's Coffee, Starbucks, Subway and so much more (the list goes on). In terms of relaxation, massage chairs, children's playing area, lounges, ablution and prayer room, sensory rooms, and Chapel were also available for travelers' use when convenient. As far as shopping, there were clothing stores, markets, designer stores, cosmetics, duty-free stores, etc. Overall, the George Bush Intercontinental Airport - IAH was a wonderful, yet busy airport to fly into. I don't mind returning here for layovers. The concourses may be a lot to navigate through, however, the offerings available from food to relaxation were beyond great.

Also, the day is not about celebrating current military. It's to remember those that have fallen. Anyways, thought it was unnecessary they were giving away soda and 40% off. We didn't participate. The blanket we purchased for the plane ride was super soft! Be relax: OMG! Those prices were insane. I didn't snap a photo bc the girl was hovering as I talked it through with my husband. I believe 15 minutes was $60. Smh! In relation to massages, if you are at IAH and near gate D5 (down a few gates from be relax,) , you can get a wonderful massage chair session. The chair was $5 for 15 minutes. It massaged your head, back, and legs. It was great after a 3 hour flight. I will use the airport again!

Wow. I haven't flown out of IAH terminal A in several years! Much to…read moremy surprise there were some notable changes. In the lower gate A numbers (A1-A15) they now have 2 new eating restaurants. In addition to the Breakfast Klub (southern breakfast/brunch food), they now have Simone Biles Taste of Gold (American, cocktails) & El Tiempo Cantina (Mexican, cocktails). I'm pretty sure they changed out a few of the fast food restaurants but I honestly didn't look at those. They had live music in the center near Breakfast Klub, in the area they call "Symphony in the Air". The live saxophonist & drummer sounded really great. Another change was the exit to baggage claim. It was surprisingly a much longer walk! From the lower A gates you now must walk all the way around toward the higher gates to get to the baggage claim exit. Its about a 5 min walk to get to the baggage exit/escalators. During this walk through the connector hallway of the lower & higher A gates, there is an Art display area called "Houston Airport Artist in Residence (AIR)". The display from local artist is wonderful to see. The enhancements for terminal A are good. Previously, it always felt like one of the more neglected terminals. I know IAH still has a lot of construction underway. I look forward to seeing additional airport improvements.

Galaxy FBO can be found here to fuel up and make a pit-stop. The Black Walnut Cafe has a restaurant here so I may be back for breakfast before an airplane ride. We have friends with airplanes parked here and we spent a fun afternoon flying. It didn't seem very busy compared to other executive airports I've been to and it's not far from the Woodlands.

Drive up at the facility, wait till you're given the all clear, get on the plane and fly away. No lines, no aggravation and no arriving 2 hours ahead of time. The location is a bit remote, but it's well marked and easy to find. Be sure to get exact directions to your plane, as there are several charter companies and privately owned facilities. Each one will have their own little waiting areas and you will walk directly to the plane. No jet ways here. Another neat thing is you can oogle planes all you like as you drive in and taxi. There are some beautiful birds sitting out there. All in all, a nice facility.

So, finally we ventured out and arrived shortly after the 10 am opening. It is best to use the entrance from Barker Cypress (better road); line to pay and park was short. The walking distance to the displays was short and lined with Corvettes. Food and drinks were available. Overall, we had a great experience and will likely attend more future shows.

Airport owner helped me sell it at a cost of 7500, I had to pay 1500 to get it "fixed" before it could be sold. If I didn't, I would have to pay 5000 for inspections next year is what I was told. I was billed for hangar fees even after it was agreed that once I listed it for sale with the airport there would be no hangar fees. All told, I lost about 35k on the whole nightmare of buying that stupid plane. Not their fault, but they sure didn't make getting rid of it any easier.
