Love this little airport. You don't have to check in 2hrs early like how you would at the larger airports. The several times I flew out of here, I arrived an hour before my flight, used my app to check-in, check my bags and go through TSA in less 20mins lol. American Airlines only fly in and out of this airport and they always fly to the DFW airport for your connecting flight unless your final destination is in DFW. Flights to and from this airport is definitely more expensive vs if you flew out of Houston or Austin, but if you mind the 1.75hrs drive and possible traffic and don't mind spending a little more convenience, then this is a great option. There's ample parking, a small area to chill and eat and a decent sized waiting area for your gate. There are only 2 gates so you won't get lost lol. All staff that I've dealt with have been nothing, but super friendly and fast. I live less than 10mins from here so I've always had a free ride so I don't know how the parking situation is here or how much it costs per day. read more

Easterwood Airport remains small - 2 gates and a small canteen upstairs, a small baggage claim downstairs, and serviced commercially by American Airlines (only). This is not an airport to come and hang out too early to avoid the "crowds". The runway area is fairly large, which helps with the military-related air traffic and of course the private jets that probably come in on a football weekend. The Texas A&M fire school is still close by, and the ride into the main campus area is longer than I remember when I first landed here in 1979. read more

It's a small airport. If you're looking for all of the amenities of IAH or ATL, then of course you will be disappointed. But the trade off is it's always clean and enough outlets to charge before your flight. Like most small airports, no one will be there hours before a flight. Take it as a benefit of not waiting an hour in a security line. I like the airport and employees are nice. It's just unfortunate that American Airlines is the one option. read more

Bare bones airport, friendly encounters with TSA agents and airline (American Eagle) ticket agent. Definitely the tiniest and quietest airport I've ever flown into. Very limited airline selection, United and American occupy CLL's 2 gated terminal. Flights to Dallas and Houston only. Fun fact-the airport is operated by Texas A&M and less than two miles from the university. The "restaurant" has more of a diner/sweet shop vibe. The cashier was very friendly and took pride in her shop as evidenced by her warm greetings and the surroundings, nicely decorated for Valentine's Day, neat and organized. All the necessities(meds, water, chargers, candy), Aggie apparel/gifts and pizza are available for purchase. Only hiccup was with the rental car reservation. Pick up time at 10pm, however when I arrived 10:15pm the rental counter was closed. There were no directions or information for after hour pickup. SUPER BARE BONES. I often find myself flying out out Houston but on a recent trip, i got lazy so Easterwood it was! TSA closes during the middle of the day of there is no flight. I arrived at 5:20 for my 6:20 flight and still had to wait around before being able to go to security. There is a restaurant on the campus (Gate 12) but there is *no way* to connect to it from outside or past security. Similarly, the Stella is about 5 min away so incredibly convenient once your check your bag & need to wait, but no shuttle or way to get there. Both seem like significant missed opportunities to support local businesses & give folks waiting something to do. Once past security, there a convenience store which basically just sells sweets and sugary treats. If you're flying out of here, you're likely on one of the 3 flights in/out of CS. Wait as long as you can to go to the airport, or bring some games. read more

I was in town for a wedding and decided to fly out of Easterwood instead of driving down to Houston. Both had a layover in Dallas and Easterwood was just down the road. This is a very small airport with only 2 gates. There is no need to show up early here. You literally get your ticket and walk right through TSA. Everyone I dealt with was super nice and patient. The have a small concession stand inside the airport that actually has a good amount of food and drink options. The place was very clean and everyone was super professional. It is not terrible like most say. Yes, TSA is very through, but they have nothing else to do. There is not a lot in the airport because it is so small you really should be showing up, thru security and on the plane. Flew into here when I was in College Station for my short course. I had no problems with the airport, it's very small with only two gates and a waiting area that can seat at most fifty people. TSA was quick and efficient. Cafe was outside of the TSA area, so be cautious of that. read more

Customer service at the AA counter is terrible. Our bags were delayed from Fort Worth and we had a few questions. We were told we had to wait 15 minutes for someone to help as staff was checking in people. Funny, the three staff "checking in" people were standing there doing absolutely nothing. Consistently awful TSA experiences at Easterwood. I fly frequently and have not experienced a more invasive or ridiculous TSA anywhere. Almost every time I depart from Easterwood my bag is completely unpacked and each item individually inspected and scanned, usually waiting alongside fellow travelers who are going through the same thing. TSA here are power hungry here. They took 90% of the carry on bags to 'recheck'. They find any little thing to make you check the bag. I bet United and American make a bunch of money at this tiny little two gate airport. What a racket. I had to check my bag because my quart size bag was not the right size. It's actually the quart size bag that the airports handed out to travelers right after 9-11 for their carry on liquids. I've traveled with this quart size bag for 18 years all over the United States with no issue until now. The bag even has the Los Angeles airport branding legibly still on it. Out of the five of us sitting near each other at the gate, 4 of us had issues with the TSA. One guy said it is just the norm here. Most thorough, professional security guards ever. I flew through O'Hare and Dallas breaching a minor security rule, but no one caught it until Easterwood. And they were very polite about interrogating me and closely inspecting the supporting documentation I had to explain the security issue. As a citizen, I appreciated that very much. The airport itself is clean, bright, and small. I had the same flight attendant on my incoming and outgoing flights and she remembered me from the earlier flight. I would fly out of Houston 90% of the time if I lived here. I booked the early AM red eye so I could get home by 1 pm. In my experience, the early flight always goes out even if the others are delayed at these "spoke" airports. Not here. We had a crazy morning. As our small group was going through security the only swab machine they have in this two gate airport was on the fritz, They kept having to take it apart. This was annoying, but when it comes to security I am ok with these little quirks. I think they need a new machine. There was a "security issue" and our gate worker told us to go to Houston. Then a few minutes told us to wait. Our flight was delayed over and over again as we watched the hapless TSA people walking around outside with the swab machine malfunctioning. There seemed to be no manager who could check these things out. By the time these things were sorted out we were all bumped from flights, and bumped again. Since they had a machine malfunctioning and no one had the authority to over-ride, we all missed our flights from the hubs. We were told the 3 hour delay was not needed, but no one had "common sense" and felt authorized to make a decision. Perhaps American should not leave planes in College Station over night? The United flight flew in, flew out an hour later, and we all sat wondering why American and United don't have a seat share worked out in College Station like they have at other college airports like that serving Iowa City, Iowa. If the plane sits here overnight, you might also be stuck with the crack TSA people here. If United had sent a bigger plane we could all have made it out and made our connections. Ah, the good old days. While I waited I called my friends who live here, and while they do fly out of College Station they have said that the TSA here can be a little obsessive and sometimes nonsensical. To avoid this possible issue, my College Station friends told me that the 1.5 hour drive to Houston is worth it nearly every time, and that I should always fly on the airline that "flies in." read more

Flight delayed at 5:15 am, then cancelled at 7:30 am. Took nearly 3 hours to rebook at the American Airlines desk. I should feel lucky that I got to fly out at 1 pm. Most others were told they either had to drive to Houston or wait until the next day to depart. Unprofessional staff and atrocious customer service. I will never use this airport again. I've flown out of Easterwood four times now and each as been a circus of fail. Easterwood Airport has systemic problems and is extraordinarily unreliable. Though inconvenient, it is worth it in my opinion to drive or take a shuttle to Bush or Hobby in Houston. UPDATE: Rescheduled flight delayed due to flight crew running late from their hotel. I would give less if I could. Understood this is a tang airport and therefore they don't have KCM... but the protocol is ridiculous. Had we know that our credentials weren't enough and they wanted us to be in uniform on top of the credentials we would've accommodated. 3 hour delays, no good food, lack of anything to do... definitely the worst airport that I've been to.

I found the United agent to be condescending. Granted, I was screaming at her because I missed a flight that hadn't taken off yet. I was cursing the situation not her. I was definitely not threatening the airport. There were no other passengers in the area. Her threats to have me escorted from the airport by security were not called for. Then she reminded me not to miss the rebooked flight. I told her it was not possible to miss at this point (already here and where would i go at this point) and I got it. She said I obviously didn't get it because I missed the first flight. Seriously??? That was rubbing salt in the wound and really unnecessary!!! I know I made a mistake. That's still no excuse for a "professional" to throw it in my face! I flew to BCS or to Houston and took Ground Shuttle to BCS eight times in 2018. I will avoid United at this airport like the plague from now on. (I still like United in general, just not this agent at this airport. The airline refunded the upgrade to first on my flight out of IAH because my rebooked flight didn't have a first class seat available. Ground Shuttle (to IAH) is a terrific service and doesn't take that much longer after factoring in airport wait time. Silver lining: Cafe manager and security guard were super nice! read more

Another try, another cancelation. I got talked into flying out of CS and not Houston like I normally do. The flight was canceled and a critical days worth of meetings missed. If you care about getting to your destination on time then do not use this airport. If you do not want to drive to houston (new 99 tollway is amazing), then take the shuttle bus. Its pretty cheap, 1st class seating, and always on time. read more

Overall Easterwood is a great airport. It is clean, meets basic needs, and has friendly staff. It's small, so don't expect much. Checking in is generally quick and so is security, excepted when lots of old people fly (they take a long time) and lots of old people like to fly out of Easterwood. While you probably won't experience lines, I would still recommend being early. You never know! read more

Easterwood is a bit of a mixed bag for me. I'll typically fly out of it if I'm not paying, but I have a pretty hard time justifying it for personal flights when groundshuttle is $60 RT. At the moment, there are two carriers that operate connections out of their to their hubs, Continental and American. It used to be that Continental operated jets and American operated props, but now the situation has flipped. Unless you're flying internationally, I've found that the pricing on Continental really isn't worth it. The American flights aren't terrible, and it's good that they switched to jets, because DFW is a nasty airport to fly into on prop. The eatery there is okay, and there is free wifi. There aren't any bathrooms in the secure area, but that's not a problem because security usually takes 10 minutes maximum. For the size of the tiny airport, they have quite a few rental car companies in the bottom, which are normally fairly reasonable. The weekend rates for Avis and Hertz tend to be around $20/day. read more

Because they're so small, it's probably all the entertainment they can get to paw through everyone's bag - which I am all for if you can do it professionally and efficiently. Not only does it take forever, I saw a woman looking through my jewelry box (really?!) and the agents can be frequently observed LAUGHING and joking over something in someone's luggage, unbelievably rude. I'd be on the fence for 3 years now on whether or not to rate this airport 4 or 5 stars, but after I walked in and saw they were now carrying "skinny pop" popcorn, the decision was made instantly. 5 stars and nothing less shall this airport be rated. Consistently one of the best in the country. I'm pretty sure they don't handle as much traffic as Atlanta or LAX, but they aren't far behind. It's obvious they have a good standing relationship with enterprise as well, because I always have the latest model miniature van fully detailed with a full tank of gas waiting for me to start my next journey. I'd recommend this place to anyone, even if you're not flying, plenty of fountain drinks and nature valley bares for all the starving and thirsty from miles around to stop in and have a little pick me up. I'm not a huge fan of small planes, but Easterwood has saved me so much time, money, and stress over the years! They only fly to two places: Houston and Dallas. Easy. Since the traffic flow is minimal, you don't have to show up 3 hours in advance and the "lines" are never long. For some reason, I'd never eaten at the restaurant there (probably because unlike other airports, you don't have to get there hours in advance just to make it through the x-ray). Tickets are so cheap and you'd spend about that much in gas driving back and forth anyway. Definitely a great alternative. read more

After my flight to Cedar Rapids from Easterwood, I think it's safe to say that Easterwood will be my hometown airport when I become a full-time Texas resident. Imagine starting your vacation or business trip at an airport where parking is reasonably priced (only $7 per day), check-in and security lines are short (I spent probably 2 minutes total in the security line), and you have a café and free Wi-Fi in case your flight gets delayed. Not to mention that the airport employees are quite friendly and professional, and I won't have to deal with as much traffic as I would if I was driving to Houston. Although I was delayed 4 hours due to a mechanical issue, I don't see it as the airport's fault or even the airline's (the ERJ-145's are just old and need upgrading, according to some flight attendants I spoke with while in flight). All in all, I do think College Station Easterwood Airport is a nice little airport to fly out of (it would still be easier than Houston), but be prepared for your flight to be delayed. read more

Love flying into Easterwood FBO! The service from the line guys is great, and the ladies who work at the front desk are always welcoming and friendly. It's an older airport/FBO but it's been kept up well and they just repaved the parking lots as well as the furniture inside. They also have the BEST sweet tea. The FBO has cars you can borrow for a quick lunch or errand around town and the front desk girls always have good suggestions for places to eat! read more
