For the past year I have had a dirt back yard due to some construction. I got the all clear and was finally able to start my landscaping. I reached out and got a few quotes over yelp and a lot of denials due to my location, Maricopa. 1. The owner George was very responsive and always kept me up to date. 2. We talked over the phone and he came out. He measured everything, asked questions, and helped me get out into words the design I wanted. 3. The only delay I faced was rain which is outside of his control and he was here the next day working. 4. His pricing was reasonable and did not make me wait weeks to start this project. From the day he came to give the quote, he was here the following week already working. I am so appreciative for how quickly he began the project and finished it. As someone who has had a dirt back yard for a year and 4 dogs, it was stressful. He lifted all of that and made my yard something we can enjoy again. RIPPED OFF! They did not finish the job they were payed to do. I was told they would come back at a later date to finish and they never returned....he even seemed irritated when I was texting and calling him. I have all the text messages to prove this guy is a liar and ripped me off. The "partial" irrigation system they installed started to leak after a few months. DO NOT pay this man until the job is 100% complete....or, just save your time and go with a better and more honest landscaper. read more

We hired this company to do yard work and just clean up the yard from weeds, grass, and trim the trees. The first time they did a good job, the second time was not the best but it was okay. We made a deal with the owner George to come monthly. The third time George came by himself with no other works. He did the bare minimum, left all these weeds, and did not even finish cutting the grass in parts of the yard. He did not trim any of the trees. When we tried to contact him, he didn't respond to any calls or texts. We even gave him snacks and water, which he ate and drank and threw the garbage in the backyard on the ground. He left that morning without saying anything. We sent him pictures of our yard and the trash he left, he never responded or returned any calls. Definitely unprofessional and wouldn't recommend this company to do your yard work. There are companies that can do a better job and actually pull the weeds from the ground instead of just mowing over them and leaving all these dead weeds everywhere. There was no sort of clean up, just basically cut grass and left. You definitely get ripped off from this guy. Do not pay him until after the job you hired him for is actually complete. He never does the job fully and it doesn't even get done good. read more

I had mixed feelings about how I wanted to rate this company. The good- George is a nice guy, returned my message pretty quick and came out the next day to look at my yard and gave me a quote. Took about 3 weeks from that initial visit for them to start my project (which I thought was great because at these times, most companies seem to be booked out for months and are not even taking on any new projects.) The bad- once the project was started, the completion of it kept getting pushed back- he would text me on the day when he was scheduled to come, and would say he would come the following week instead. This happened 4 times. Our project consisted of paver placement to widen our driveway and to create a pathway to our side gate, as well as paver steps leading up to our front door pathway. Design was great. Quality of work was poor. There wasn't enough cement applied on the sides of the pavers on the side pathway initially, so the pavers shifted. He did fix this, but when I also looked at the cement applied to the edge of the extended driveway, I have concerns that it isn't going to hold...we'll see how that goes. There also wasn't enough sand applied in between the pavers- I ended up doing this myself. The steps that were made for us looked great, but after he "completed" the work and moved all the rock back, I discovered later that evening that several of the pavers easily come off and were not glued in properly. I told George about it and it's been 2 weeks and he never texted me back. Oh and he says there's no "surprise" costs, but he tacked on another $75 at the very end without advance notice for the steps because "it took more work than expected." He didn't even replant my agave that he said he would move for me in the beginning. I ended up fixing and doing everything myself to make sure things were actually done right and done well. I would be wary of using this company- they seem to start projects quickly, probably so that you're stuck using them, but quality and completion may not be as expected. read more

My husband and I were very pleased with George and his great crew, initially. We really liked them a lot. However, we had saved up a lot of money and had recently put in artificial grass. Shortly thereafter, we had George and his crew do the landscaping again (trimming trees, blowing leaves, trimming bushes, etc.) I did not know I had to tell them ahead of time to not lay their hot equipment on the artificial grass, as that would surely melt it. I, unfortunately, assumed they knew this. When I checked the landscaping job the next day, I saw a tell-tale melted spot on my brand new artificial grass. (Tell-tale, as in it was in the shape of a leaf blower.) When I asked George about what had happened, he immediately denied any wrong doing and made up a story about telling his brother ( not the owner of the house, mind you), saying that he saw the marks before he started the work. So, as a landscaper, wouldn't you bring that up to the attention of the owner BEFORE you did any landscaping? Besides, we have NOTHING that could have caused such damage. We never leave ANYTHING on that artificial grass and our windows have shade screens. Long story, short... they lied about the damage. They agreed to not receive payment for that days' landscaping. But, here we are with major melted damage to our.artificial grass. They never admitted to their mistake and did not pay for the damage. Word to the wise: Take photos before and after any work done. read more

This spring we needed our front and backyard cut way back. After living in our house 10 years, our bushes had become too bulky. We asked for them to be cut down to a bare minimum. We have asked this same job of other companies in years past and they never seemed to get it just right. Astonishing Landscape did exactly what we asked for! Finally, a company listened to what we wanted and executed the job with no hesitation. It's like we were given a fresh start. Also, they replaced some irrigation piping and system needs that had succumbed to years of exposure. This is an updated review. I was always very pleased with the work George did for me over the past 3 years, from hauling and spreading rock to putting in a drip system to planting shrubs. My rating was 5 stars. But I am very disappointed that he has never responded to any of my attempts at contact since he last did a job for me in March. I questioned how effective his pre-emergent spraying of my yard was, as the weeds were back within two weeks. At the very least, I would have expected him to come out and redo it. But instead, it appears I have been dropped as a customer. So my new rating is lower due to no attempt to make this right on his part. read more

Bottom line up front, this company was quick to respond to my initial quote and provided reasonable prices. George does not charge a diagnostic fee (unlike other companies I called) and was determined to fix my sprinkler system. There was a bit of a hiccup, since we couldn't pinpoint the exact problem, however George worked tirelessly to find the solution! He has good work ethics provides high-quality work and is a man of his words. George was able to remedy all my lawn problems and now my lawn is back to normal! Thanks for the hard work! Astonishing Landscaping is astonishingly terrible and don't even know landscaping 101. George is the worst landscaper I have ever hired across all 10 states I have lived. He didn't even complete the job he was paid for or clean up the terrible job he did do. He literally did half of the job he was paid for only to leave mid way and never to be heard of again. If you desperately need to hire George, make sure to pay George AFTER the work is complete and don't make the mistake I did by paying up front because you really do need to verify that the job you paid for is complete, just absolutely terrible. read more

Where to start I commission astonishing landscape and design to come out and provide me a quote to landscape my front yard tear out all the existing gravel and put more up-to-date gravel remove a couple mesquite trees with a few bushes. I was on a limited budget George the owner explain to me as far as we could stretch it as far as material and labor and delivered a phenomenal end result project. Updating from my previous review, after install, equipment failed and George and his team attempted to repair however couldn't figure out the issue. Unable to connect me with people who could help resolve it and stopped communication with me leaving me with a massive problem without a solution. Worked with another company who diagnosed the issue within minutes and deemed the install as cheap and unsustainable over time. Another company completely redid this company's installation. I discussed specific details of how we like our half acre lot to be maintained and he has followed through without needing to be reminded.
