I initially called Arbor Care in the peak of summer for a REALly large tree that needed to have its canopy reduced. Arbor care requested I send a picture and they identified its species. They advised me that its species needs to have this type of serious work done when it's in a certain stage of its dormancy cycle. Incredibly great service! Andy came out to look at my two towering sissoo trees. They were tearing up my pool plumbing. They were insured, which made a big difference, and came with all the equipment and expert people necessary: crane, industrial sized wood chipper/tub grinder, and back hoe sized stump grinder. They got not only the stumps but all the exposed roots. Then Andy came back months later when the pool pipes got exposed with roots entangled to help me! I requested tree removal and grinding, got 8 bids, and picked Arbor Care. It was set for removal on Monday, August 26. They arrived, asked basic information, stated my quoted price of $495, and wanted to reschedule for Tuesday, August 27th with a crane Nothing was said about an underbid. Tuesday, they came back, and said it was underbid, it was an $1800 job, and they'd do it for $1200, blaming the picture that I had sent was deceitful. I needed it done, as I was leaving town, so they agreed to $1000, over twice what they bid. They did the job well, cleanup was barely satisfactory, not putting things back the way they were found. The did spend a couple extra minutes and grind a very small little stump at no charge (that was promised on Monday for the inconvenience of rescheduling and delaying my trip). Arbor Care for the win again! The same company who removed my Ficus tree in 2019, came this morning to remove a tree in my front yard. Don't know what kind it was, but much smaller and made a constant mess. You rake up all the flowers, turn around and 50 more have since fallen. 15 minutes flat these guys pulled up in two big trucks, everyone knew exactly what their job was and they didn't waste a single second. Cut, shredded, trunk grounded, cleaned up and they were gone! Too bad I've run out of trees, now I can't give them anymore business. But I do highly recommend them! This company sent out their arborist who talked to great game and sounded like he was getting every detail down, then the day of the service a crew came out and had only one person on it that spoke even a tiny bit of English. Now I'm sitting under my trees wishing I still had those overhanging branches that I specifically and repeatedly told them I wanted to keep. The shade I have now is cut way down. A palm tree that they trimmed and skinned is now dead. And a little tree that was removed is now growing back as a bush. The reason they get three stars instead of one is because they did manage to cut all of the dead wood out of my huge old mesquites. With an English speaking crew it would have been five stars because I would have been able to just point to the branches and say definitely don't take those overhanging green branches. But since I had gotten that real clear with the arborist I thought it was okay to let the crew just go ahead and work even though I couldn't really speak with them. I called and sent the pictures of my tree that needed to be removed and another tree that needed trimming and I heard back right away.
