After realizing it wasn't the right fit, I exchanged it, but unfortunately the replacement also did not work for me. What I was not made sufficiently aware of when purchasing/exchanging was that apparently you only get ONE exchange and are then completely stuck with the replacement mattress, even if it doesn't work for you. Had I understood that clearly, I absolutely would have approached the exchange differently. I contacted Sleep Loft asking for help and even offered to pay the delivery/exchange costs myself just to switch to another mattress they sell. I wasn't asking them to absorb the additional expense. Instead, I was essentially told the decision is final, and communication afterward has been extremely poor and unresponsive. This is especially frustrating for an online mattress retailer, where customers may be purchasing mattresses they have never actually slept on. A mattress is a major purchase, and comfort cannot realistically be determined from specifications or a brief impression alone. I was willing to remain a customer, purchase another mattress from them, and cover the additional delivery costs. The complete unwillingness to work with me, combined with the lack of responsiveness, has turned what could have been an easily resolved situation into a terrible customer experience. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering Sleep Loft read every detail of their exchange policy beforehand and understand that if your first replacement doesn't work, you may be stuck with it. I would not have purchased from them had I understood how inflexible the process would be.

I have to say Monica was very patient with me. I insisted I keep my bed frame with headboard and footboard. I only saw one twin mattress in the show room. It felt good to me compared to the hard mattress I'm sleeping on. The one I purchased is pillow top and medium firm. There's some differences in my receipt like mattress is Sealy and Box Spring is Serta. She did give me $50 off discount for the box spring. For my height it needed to be a low level box spring. We measured and I can touch the floor when I rise from the bed. Monica said delivery could not be until after September 11 because they didn't have the mattress in the warehouse stock since it is very popular. Mattress Firm gave me the impression I am getting huge savings. I'm attaching the receipt. I'm glad they take away the old bedding. My landlord charges for removal. If necessary I'll update this review after I go through the delivery process and sleep on the mattress. I just hope it fits my bed frame! I'm rating Four Stars for the purchase process and customer service. The satisfaction with the mattress choice is on me!

A very New York City experience…read more Having previously purchased a mattress online and having to return it because I hated it, I didn't want to go through that experience again. I stopped by a few mattress shops in the city, but they were very small and many just carried the major online brands that were non-traditional mattresses (memory foam, no coils). A google search brought me to Craig's: a lot of glowing Yelp reviews, Google reviews, and a New Yorker article describing this "speakeasy" mattress shop. Given that Craig's is located right by my office, I made an appointment online. As others have mentioned, be prepared that Craig's is located on the second floor of an office building and that your appointment will be 1:1. Craig will ask you what kind of mattress you like, cut a piece of cloth for you, and place it on various mattresses as you try them. You never feel rushed or pressured. He IS chatty, so be prepared for that too. I tried many mattresses and ultimately found a mattress that I liked and placed an order (the first one that he showed me!). Fast forward to the day before delivery. I had told Craig I was moving in the morning and would need the mattress to come after noon, but when I got my delivery window it was the first one in the morning. He called the delivery company and they wanted to schedule it for the evening, but he correctly pointed out that because I was in a doorman building they might not let the delivery people up in the evening. He gave me two options: he would go meet them at my building in the morning and let them in OR he would come in the evening and help bring it up to my apartment if they wouldn't let the delivery people up. What? This is a crazy level of service. He also must have spent an hour on the phone between talking to me and the delivery company trying to figure this all out. It turned out my building was able to let them in without Craig being present, but his wilingness to go so far and beyond will not be forgotten by me!
