The conclusion is that if you want carpet at a discount price, you very likely will have to deal with terribly bad customer service. MY significant other (SO) and I went to the store to pick out carpet for two medium sized rooms. No problems whatsoever at this point. The install though had severe issues, and I suspect this only happened because I wasn't there, and SO was left to handle what I assumed would be a simple carpet install. How does a simple install go wrong? First, they called minutes to 9p the night before, and said they will arrive in the morning, but that never happened. They arrived @ 6:45 pm. They arrived, and remember, I'm not there, but they demanded my SO pay them them in full for only part delivery of carpet. She calls to question this, they hang up on her. I call to ask why this is going down hill, they hang up on me. The installer left the part carpet delivery in the room saying that he doesn't care, he still gets paid anyways. Wonderful work ethic right! I get home now, see the carpet in the hallway and another in the middle of the room, along with a large tool box about 3 feet long blocking my kitchen entryway. At this point I'm still very relaxed, and just shake my head. Next day comes, I'm here in the morning when he arrives. I look out the window and see the guy struggling with the remaining carpet that he didn't deliver, so I go out to help. No way he would have got that up by himself. Offered installer refreshments, and I'm still positive about things. I get a call from Kas saying how the installer called them complaining that I wouldn't pay him. This is where I get annoyed because I'm here nice, and now installer is lying. I put the phone on speaker where the installer then admitted to Kas that he didn't speak to me, but he still said It in a way that tried to throw my SO under the bus. I was one second from kicking him out the house just for lying, plus for some reason he threw the old carpet out the 2nd floor window smashing the shrubs in the garden. In closing, to feel satisfied with Kas, you have to go there with zero expectations. That way you won't get frustrated. I came in with reasonable customer service expectations, and with my disappointment I'd never do this again with Kas even if they give the carpet away for free. Unethically business practices! Each rug has a sign that states that Kas guarantees the lowest price or they will give you back double the difference. The Loloi Kendall Shag collection rug was marked $89.99 at Kas and $71.43 on Amazon. I showed it to three different employees, each referring me to someone else until I finally spoke to the store manager who refused to honor the advertised signage. He said that he wouldn't honor the price difference because the rug on Amazon was the last in stock, even though the signage on the rug did not provide any fine print of asterisk with further disqualifying criteria. The manager even tried to disparage Amazon saying that they will tell me the item is out of stock after I purchase it. I was seriously considering buying the rug for $89.99 and if the manager would've had an honest answer (i.e. inability to compete with Amazon), I would've still purchased it. However his responses were filled with blame and/or further dishonest information. For example he said that I needed to check multiple sites but when I repeated back what he said, he said he didn't say that. I have the interaction recorded on my phone and plan to file further complaints. Save your time and either purchase on line or from a reputable source. read more

I don't know why people are having negative feedback but we've had a very good experience every time we went we're hoping to find a carpet like the Chinese rugs those nice thick wool ones you know I think they're handmade 8 x 10 we need we have 9 x 12 but I think we're gonna go a little smaller because I don't want so much rug. I just wanted around the area of the conversation but I wanna make sure my rug is under the couch because I use I sleep on it a lot of times and I don't want moving around and the carpets are the best. Made an appt and they stated that they need a $30 deposit and they apply it towards the purchase of your rugs. I was in the process of getting different prices and asked if I dont go with you will you still charge me the $30. They said no. He comes measures all the rooms and asks when can I come in to pick the rugs. I said what is the price, they tell me they dont know until I pick out the rugs?? I said I dont know if Im going to go with you, he then asks for the $30. I said no you said there was no charge for you just coming to measure, he said its company policy for me to charge you. All of a sudden now there is a measuring charge when I specifically asked you if there is a charge? Needless to say I threw the guy out of my house and didnt give him anything. We called him to make an appointment to discuss our purchase and CONFIRMED with him the day before! After traveling 1 HOUR from Long Island - he wasn't there. He said he was with another client measuring their house??? We were on time and he told us we had to wait an 1-1.5 hrs more for him to come back - meanwhile we already just drove 1 hour! The man working at the store had no clue what he was doing!!! He wouldn't talk to us unless we paid for our carpet IN FULL and in CASH?? If I can give them one star I would. Me my mother and brother went in looking for a carpet a couple of minutes ago. We was walking around a kept asking for help. The guy name mike I guess that's his name but either way he seams frustrated that we was asking home for less expensive carpets. He then ended up walking away from us to help another customer cause he was so frustrated. We found another sales associate that tried to help but he acted as if he didn't want to help one we asked him how much was a carpet without a price. The customer service is awful. One of the sales guys name is Mike. I had a very unpleasant encounter with him. He has horrible communication skills, very indifferent. I made appointment for measurement and nobody showed up. He gave me an appointment for installation and never actually booked the appointment for me. They sent some mexican guys to my house that demanded an upfront payment in FULL prior to them even starting the job, which is unethical. Good prices and selections. Nick was great, came 3 times to my home to measure and make sure all went smooth for the delivery and installation. We ordered carpet pieces, entrance way, runners , dining room rug, with some bonded on site for custom sizes. Management should upgrade technology for scheduling and texting confirmations, and possibly take debit/ credit cards, still being operated old school, but all in all, a job well done and very satisfied with the end results!! read more

I had carpet put in my house on November 1, 2022 and when the installers left I could not find my wedding rings. I've had my rings for 30 years never missed placed them but after the installers left I have not been able to find my wedding rings. I called I text and I got no response from the company. I will never ever use Kaz carpet again and I will let all of my friends know and I intend to put it out on social media. They could've at least called me back to acknowledge my situation. read more

Super duper dreadful service, but really great deals on rugs and carpeting. Amazingly cheap area rugs, I didn't mind cash-only, though if I were trying to carpet a whole house I'd be more nervous. About 10 years ago I also bought carpet for the stairs and had them install it. The whole thing was very cheap and the installation job was excellent. After all these years and heavy use, the carpet is still in great shape, no wear spots or fraying; all the edges are still pristine, the installation held up great. Just fight your way past having to deal with the sales guys- or only deal with the Mrs. They all seem to respect her- from my dealings and from what I observed, the guys on the floor don't act with any kind of respect toward female customers, in the end, I had to be VERY firm. read more

Stay away!!! Save yourself the headache!!! I came in and ordered a carpet. I asked him 5 times to please make sure he had enough of the same carpet and he was 1000% sure. The salesman MIKE assured me he had enough, wrote my ticket and promised next day delivery. At 8:52 pm I received a text from him to please call him that they didn't have enough carpet and couldn't deliver my order and asked me to come in to the store to reselect. He said he would take care of me so when I picked a comparable carpet he lied and said I'd have to pay the difference - and apologized for the miscommunication. I am pregnant and had to drive an hour each way twice because of his mistake!!! All his frustration because of a $75 difference. When I asked to speak with the owner of the company that was not possible. Not worth the frustration at all!!! We really had the best carpet experience at Kas! My husband and I were renovating our attic as we prepared for the birth of our second child. We were finishing the renovation and about 10 days from my due date when we started to shop for carpet having no idea that it could take 3/4 weeks for carpet to arrive and be installed. We did not have the luxury to wait as we wanted the attic to be ready before the birth of our daughter and really did not know what to do! We went to Kas and prayed that they had carpet in stock that could be installed within a few days. Our salesman Nick listened to our plight and was super helpful in showing us carpet that they had in stock and could install within a few days. We chose a light grey carpet and was able to schedule an installation date for two days later. We received a call from the manager Sasha the next day that when they were rolling out the carpet to cut it for installation, they notice a flaw/defect across the entire carpet and wanted us to come and chose another carpet because they were not comfortable installing the flawed carpet. My husband and I immediately went to the store and met with Sasha and Nick who showed us the problem with the rug and why they were not comfortable installing a product that was not perfect. They were beyond helpful in showing us the other carpets that we could chose from and provided a better padding option for us for our trouble. Thanks to Kas Carpet we had rug in our renovated attic before the birth of our daughter. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone that is looking for carpet! read more

Awarded Kas Carpet 1 star only as it's impossible to award none. I called them requesting carpet installation in my apartment in NYC. They charged me $200 to come out and measure. (The $200 was supposed to be credited to my purchase.) I then drove out their Long Island based warehouse to pick carpet. Once there I was informed that somehow my apartment measurements never made it back to office. They told me the fellow who took the measurements is a part timer, but they will call me when they find the measurements. "It might take sometime as we are not computerised." Several weeks and numerous unhelpful calls later I threw in the towel and ordered from someone else. The headache simply wasn't worth the $200. I really don't know if these guys are a complete fraud or the most incompetent group I have ever encountered, regardless the results are the same. Stay away. read more

This has been the WORST customer service I have ever had. This is what happened! (I have used this company before and had very good experiences) First, you pay cash.....with a receipt, of course with an assurance of excellent service. Well, the Installer is such an extremely rude man, and so is the Manager! If you do not pay full at beginning of job, you are threatened with job canceled and you, the customer must pay $150 to return. They blame the customer! They do not take away their garbage! To me, I felt like this was a hit or miss. Majority of the rugs that caught my eye felt rough and far from comforting. This might not be up my alley, but I'm sure it's up some one else's. Not everyone is going to like intricately designed rugs like they dwell in an Indian palace. Wish they had more minalistic designs. Lol. All jokes aside, I felt like I should've been in an Aladdin episode. In terms of customer service, Not once has anyone asked if we needed help. Nor were we greeted upon walking in. I recently spent a few thousand dollars to carpet 3 rooms in my house. I was extremely disappointed in the service and installation. Below are the reasons why. Installation The installers arrived late. Prior to the purchase, the salesperson, Arpe, confirmed that one of the three bedrooms would be required to have a seam in the carpet, but the seam would be in the closet. Once they arrived they tried to install remnant carpet in the smallest bedroom. They showed me where they were putting the seam. When I told them that only the master bedroom was going to have a seam, not the other two rooms, they had to go and replace that carpet piece. For the children's room, they then installed the carpet with TWO seams, despite there not supposed to be any. The seams were done so sloppily, that they had carpet fibers sticking out. For the master bedroom, they tried to install the carpet with a seam in middle of the room, instead of where the closet is. They ultimately fixed it and put the seam by the closet. The installers left a full bag of garbage in the bathroom, and a BLADE on the floor of CHILDREN'S room. Post installation When I called Kas to discuss the seams that were not approved, they promised to call back. When they didn't, and I called again, the manager, Arpe, put me on hold to answer other calls. Then when I proceeded to tell him about the seams, he said - no carpet comes the size you need, so of course there are seams. When I asked why: 1. He only mentioned the master, and 2. He placed the seam in such an obvious place in the children's room (not somewhere hidden), his response was to continually interrupt me mid-conversation and tell me that I should know the measurements of the carpet, and room. I explained, that I have no experience I carpet sizes, and further, he told me about the seam in the master, and that the workmanship performed was unacceptable he said he would call back. Presales Before purchasing the carpet, Kas requires you to come into the store to schedule the carpet measurements. Even if you show them the carpet in advance of the measurement, they require you to come back to the store to pay for the carpet and schedule installation. Note: they only accept cash What was most disappointing was the fact that when I called to discuss my concerns, how inattentive the salespeople and managers were. Since they require FULL CASH PAYMENT PRIOR TO INSTALLATION, I do NOT recommend going there. I had 3 more rooms to carpet, but I wouldn't do repeat business there read more

I love this carpet store. I needed carpeting for my apartment, I went across the street to Lowe's and not only was the carpet double the price, they couldn't install it until 3 weeks later. I went into Kas on a Thursday, they came and measured the apartment on Friday. My carpet was installed by Wednesday, only because my husband couldn't be there to accommodate them on Tuesday. The carpet is beautiful. The installation was seamless. Everything about the process was great. The only thing I didn't care for was having to pay in cash, but the experience was worth it. Everyone that I encountered at the store was very helpful and knowledgeable. I really can't say enough great things about this store. We dealt with Sasha, and Mike who were both extremely helpful and professional. They answered all of our questions and concerns with no issues at all. read more
