I hate to not give all more stars because we ended on a good note but LAWD- what a horrible customer service experience when I walked in! It was my first time there and I walked in and everyone stared at me like I had two heads. They were like who are you here to see and I said I wasn't sure as it was a last minute appointment and my first time there. I was literally told that I have the wrong salon "honey"! She asked all the stylists in front of me and everyone said no appointment with me. After she told me I had the wrong salon I politely reminded her that I did not and asked that she check the book or something again. She went into the back and asked another stylist who said she did have me for an appointment. After that it was nice. I brought my son and they played with him which was very nice of them. I just got a blowout with waves. It looked good and I was happy with that and the price. It didn't last long- I have fine hair and unless they really give you volume it doesn't tend to. I've had better blowouts but it definitely was not bad. When I was leaving they apologized for the experience when I walked in but I am astounded by the rudeness. I would have left if I didn't have a photo shoot that day and literally needed my hair done. It's nice that it ended well but I won't ever support a business again that treats people like that. read more

Carol went above and beyond to help me, she quickly got me the name of a stylist, and within minutes I was able to connect with Brii, explain what I needed, and get booked the next day! Brii did an amazing job on my messy low bun, it was exactly what I envisioned and I received so many compliments at the wedding. Overdue review here, long story short I had a friend who was a stylist and I followed her about from one salon to the next. One day she tapped out to be a mother and that's how I met Sarah Lopez, at Kaos originally, many years ago as it were. So basically, since 2014? I guess so. Sarah left Kaos and took up residency here at Astoria, also in Redlands. It's been a few years since the move, and we managed somehow during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic- basically I had really long hair by the end, but because of her skills it grew out as well as possible all things considered. Last year it came off, lol. In addition to being friends for a long time I never worry about what style to get she's very intuitive and creative, so I'm pretty stoked. We've tried a lot of looks too. The atmosphere Is lively at Astoria, lots going on all the time. Parking is sometimes a challenge in the common lot but if you get creative and don't mind walking it's really no problem. read more

This review is for Kim Griggs specifically. Very rude, I got up and left because she laughed at me!! She seemed irritated, frustrated and very very rude during consultation especially when I said twice I don't want to do my hair but I felt convinced because I was already there & felt pure-pressured to get something we couldn't agree on. All I wanted was a ombré with money pieces and she told me no! During consultation she'd just stare at me and blink but it was a stare that made me feel like I was dumb because I even asked her I was making her made multiple times since she seemed so upset! I unfortunately spoke up too late after consultation but when I did and I said I think I'd like to go home she told me I needed to pay for the product she used on three foils so I agreed for her to wash it out and I'd leave and she laughed at me!! I asked her if she laughed and she said "well.."! Disgusting behavior! After I politely told her I don't think we're compatible and tried to be nice! Got up and took out my foils myself and just left. Terrible experience and she seemed rude from the start. I was going to sit there quietly throughout the appt just because I wanted my hair done but knew I shouldn't be miserable sitting in the chair for hours! Visit every 6 weeks for a color or weave. Salon is always busy and entire staff are very friendly. There is always someone at the front desk to greet you, find out who you have an appt with and what time so they can let your stylist or other professional know you are there. You will be asked if you would like a glass of water or coffee. Each section is styled with light colored walls with a dark brown wood accent. Love the styles chosen throughout the shop. My daughter and I have been seeing Sarah for years, followed her from her old salon. The move to Astoria will be great for her business. What a beautiful place, nice amenities, and pleasant service at the front desk. I love the basket of testers; you can ask your stylist to try out a new product on your hair. So fun! We've been loyal to Sarah for years, she's just awesome. I have curly hair and my daughter's is straight, Sarah does equally well with both. She has seen us through drastic, edgy cuts, growing out hair and/or bangs, maintaining length, going lighter, going darker. She can be trusted to cut as much or as little as you want, and she gives honest advice if you're lost. And as the mom of a precocious toddler, you get some fun stories too. read more

I have very fine hair that refuses to grow that I never knew how to style or keep healthy...until there was Sarah! During my very first appointment with her she took the time to hear my concerns and not only did she treat and cut my hair but she spent another 30 minutes just showing me different ways to style it so that I would feel more confident. Dont go here.Ive used the estetition here which she botched up my eyebrows in micronedling which I got an infection and I also had hair extensions with Bonnie which they fell out twice and the hair looked like it came off of someone elses head.I talked to the owner several times for a refund and never got one after several attempts.This place shouldn't be in business.They ripped me off and has very bad business relationships.Just saying don't go here there are plenty more salons in redlands that are much better read more

Worst experience at a salon in my life. Crissa destroyed my hair and blamed it on me. She said it is whatever I have done to my hair and am not telling her. She left bleach on my hair for two hours and it was falling out in chunks I left with 5 different colors in my hair. They refused to do as I asked when I wanted them to wash my hair out so that I could drive home to pick up my baby because I was already there for FOUR hours and needed to go home. I ended up having to walk out with crap in my hair as they tried to have me sign a form that they hand wrote saying I refused a reconstructive treatment. After having them burn all of my hair off of course I didn't want them putting anything else in my hair. All I had to say to her was that if she couldn't do it then she should have told me no. I have been going here for years. Rebecca evylnn is the best. I love the way she does color and I have been blonde, red and brunette. She takes her time and is very knowledgeable. She actually found a color that is so similar to my natural color I can't see roots when it grows back (only random grays).
