This is definitely the cheapest gas in town as others have mentioned. If you're like me, don't forget that Oregon is a FULL service gas state. I almost got out of the car and started pumping my own gas until the gas attendant pulled right up to my window. I don't think I'll ever get used to somebody else pumping my own gas, but... what can you do?! The gas attendant was really nice and quick. I'm always fearful od giving them my card for payment. I find it funny that they ask if I want to pay debit or credit. If I say debit, will they expect me to give them my pin number to type into the machine?! Well since I'm paranoid, I always say credit. They type my zip code into the machine. I know I'm weird... but still, it's uncomfortable. ANYWAYS... let me get off this tangent. It's not the fanciest gat station in the world, but it definitely does the deed. There's a small little mart inside if you need to pick up a few quick things like snacks and drinks. I love that this station is open pretty late. Surprisingly, it seems like a lot of the gas stations in this area close up shop pretty damn early. I am a customer of 2 years and come here almost daily for cigarettes and fuel. Recently I had a purchase dispute, with a inoperable pump, the cashier was rude, offered no assistance or options- She replied rudely that it was my fault for putting the nozzle back to holster (which canceled my fuel purchase). I explained that the pump did not release any fuel? I looked at my bank app and seen that I was charged and called my bank- they said they see no reversal, only the charge/purchase. The rude cashier lies to me and tells me, that the money will be back on my card in 30mins- No credit was applied. I give the cashier another $40, to fuel up and this time the pump releases $0.12 of fuel and stops??? I walk back inside and ask for the manager. The 2 Astro employees look at me and roll their eyes, the manager exhales a deep breathe, noticeably bothered by my need of assistance ($80 out of pocket and 45mins of wasted time, 2 uninterested employees (1 manager) in offering assistance or helping me in any way, the manager whips right past me, non verbal , i follow her out to my vehicle where she too couldn't get the pump to fuel my vehicle, she starts slamming it in and out of my fuel tank then goes back into the store, returns and tries again aggressively then when it finally begins to fuel- the manager Ridley states " Your vehicle is the problem "!!! As she whips pass me again as she returns back into the store. Im like??? Wth?? I've been going there for 2 years and never had a problem- This could have been resolved faster and appropriately if the Manager and employee would have done their jobs as Astro employees- Firstly, DO NOT LIE OR GIVE FALSE INFORMATION, IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER, GET SOMEONE WHO DOES. FOR THE HOT HEADED MANAGER THAT FAILED TO TREAT ME AS A CUSTOMER AND A LOYAL ASTRO CUSTOMER- SHÁME ON YOU!!! Hate having to pump my own gas, and even though they had full service, the employee was on break. Took me several attempts to get the gas flowing steady; at first it kept stopping every half gallon. Regular was $4.05 with a card, and across the street it was $4.35, so it was worth the hassle. Busy intersection right on N Interstate so it can take a few minutes to exit. read more

The prices here are crazy lower than anywhere across town so it is worth the drive. Sure, it's a bit sketchy with folks lingering. The clerks are genuinely really nice though and give what they get which is great since, just wow. Some VERY VERY high fella was trying to wander out with a full bag of stuff he had been collecting. The clerk just gave him a firm, "You are not leaving without paying for all that." I had never actually gone into the store till this last visit but I needed some caffeine and grabbed their last two cokes plus could not resist Reeses cupcakes... because I am not a stoner but I appreciate a good chocolate snack. read more

Very pissed off. Was getting gas for my car. My mother was in her car, getting gas before driving to Seattle. Apparently she didn't pull away from the pump fast enough for the attendant. He ended up calling her a bitch behind her back, which I heard him do. When he gave me my receipt, I informed him that he'd just called my mom a bitch, and that it was thoroughly unacceptable. He tried to justify it by telling me that she was interfering with him doing his job. I restated that there was no way that calling my mother a bitch, or any other customer was acceptable, regardless of his job. I informed him that the gas station would never receive my business ever again, and wished him good day. I have lived in this neighborhood for 15 years and have been a consistent patron of this station the whole time. You absolutely do NOT have permission to call my mother a bitch. Sincerest apologies, but from now on, I will go out of my way to patronize other gas stations. I will pay more and drive further. I cannot in good faith, give my money to a business whose employee willfully insulted my mother, because of perceived inconvenience. read more

They have a cheapest gas prices in NoPo, long lines because of it. They ask for your ID and your Postal Zip code when paying by card to insure it's actually your card. Good idea because there are a lot of shady peeps that hang out there. Not a whole lot to choose from in their mini-mart. Who really enjoys going to the gas station. Went here for air, which is a dollar. First, the machine beeps incessantly, which drove me crazy in about 17 seconds. Then it took my quarters and didn't give me any air. Then, I tried my debit card (a dollar and a quarter for air when using a card) and that refused to work either (actually I really need to stop sticking my debit card into strange machines, it's not healthy). I went inside to ask for help and the cashier (a young lady) was very nice and called her manager, who said basically, "not our machine, not our problem." Umm gee thanks. To her credit, the cashier still tried to help but what could she really do? Luckily I was only out a dollar and 10 minutes of my time (and so far my debit card hasn't been charged). I left and went across the intersection to the Shell station, which has air for .75 and it works. I have no idea about the gas or tobacco this place sells (it's probably fine), but avoid this place if you need air. You'll just be wasting your time and money. read more

For many years it was a big ole Rhino on the big billboard sign, rushin' right fo' ya! Now, it's a toad. Toad'sTobacco Express. So much for evo-lution. They sell some a' the cheapest gas and, apparently, tobacco products in town. Swisher sweets and grape flava "Fresh" cigarillos, 49 cents, hot-damn! If I smoked this might even matter.... Here I thought it was just the great-lookin' staff and the super-friendly pan-handlers that kept this joint jumpin' well into the wee-hours! No wonder it's 24/7 still, after all these years.... Caveat: The super-friendly pan-handlers can get a little aggressive, so be on your guard if you go into the shop. Also: there's a $75 max on gas fills, I found this out the hard way trying to fill several auxiliary tanks recently... read more

This place doesn't deserve one star I hesitated to pull into this shit-hole, but I did it anyway. I got out of my vehicle and read the display on the pump that said 'pay hear', so I did. I swiped my card, selected an amount and a fuel product then waited for the attendant to dispense the fuel. 'Skanky Bitch' attendant walks up and Chastises me for pre-swiping my card. She insisted that she do it and after a long argument I allowed her to cancel out the transaction and swipe it again. She enters debit instead of credit after I repeatedly told her it was a credit transaction. She then asked me for a pin # and I told her it's a credit card not debit, there is no pin. The argument continued while she tried to cancel it out, but it wouldn't cancel. She jammed the system and it wouldn't clear. She walked off to attend the now backed up lanes that had accumulated. I stayed until the display finally cleared, then drove over to the station across the street, were I was greeted with a smile and given quick service. The attendant told me they often here of horror stories from people with similar experiences with that Astro. I thought that was the end of it but days later I'm watching my account statement and what do I see? You guessed it, an erroneous charge on my credit card account from that Astro. I'm disputing the charge and criminal fraud charges will be perused if its not straightened out!!! My advise, stay away from this sewer shit-hole or watch you wallet!! read more

I've been coming here for the past three years (ever since I bought a house in the neighborhood). Today I stopped to get gas and followed the same procedure that has been in place every time I've been here: car in park, jump out, put credit card into machine, press ENTER for a full up, thank attendant and get back into car. Tonight was dramatically different. The attendant demanded I hand him my credit card. When I inquired why things were different he refused to pump any gas. I went inside the store and asked if a manager was a available the lady behind the counter gave me a phone number that went straight to a number not in service recording. I was almost out of gas so I went back to my car and asked a different attendant if he would please pump me a tank of gas. He told me I was clearly drunk and refused. I had just got done with dinner with my parents. I was so sober it was stupid. Finally the original attendant pumped gas for my car after yelling at me. Seriously. How is any of this ok? Until 9/16/2014 I was happy to get gas here, attendants were friendly, nice & thoughtful. It is close to my home and convenient. Then 9/16/2014 happened. I pull in to get gas, my car had the empty warning light on. Pull up to the pump, pop the door to my gas tank and notice 1 African American female attendant talking to a customer and there seemed to be a problem, not sure. A lady sitting in her truck opposite of me looked very unhappy & after about 10 min (yes I started timing how long I sat there) she sped off. Cars pulling in from Lombard were hanging out into traffic there wasn't any room. The attendant did not acknowledge anyone coming in or leaving angry that she was going to be a few minutes if we wanted to wait. That is common courtesy. She did not address one customer. A van then pulled in by the white truck opposite side which blocked my view so I got out to let her know I was still waiting and wanted her to know that when I noticed she had started pumping gas into another car I did not see pull in because of the van. I said I was here first and waiting over 20 min. and she should put my gas in next. This attendant turned towards me telling me I don't tell her what to do and in fact I could not get gas there period. I walked away went inside, told clerk what happened, the clerk was very nice and said another female attendant will get my gas for me. I see on the lot a Caucasian blonde female and as I approach her she yells "no, no, no, I am told I cannot pump gas for you." I was livid. I got home angry and shaking told my husband who then drove my car to Toads and was approached by the blond female telling him to slow down, as he is already parked. He gets out of my car, the African American female acts like she is clueless why he is there, this now has escalated to a danger point. My husband was refused service and feels it was a set up and racially motivated. I am Caucasian and the African American attendant has a problem w/me, my husband is African American and the blonde attendant had a problem w/him The only way to know this was someone I knew is because of the same car.
