I also went in person just to let them know which room I wanted and what all things I was going bring in such as a cake and a banner. The day of graduation comes and I go in to get my room and they sat me at a regular table. I was super confused as I had booked a room or so I thought. I got up and talked to one of the managers and she stated and those rooms come with a deposit of $100 which was never stated to me. I was super confused and upset because not only was I unable to hang my banner or enjoy an intimate gathering with friends and family, but my guests were super uncomfortable because I told them it would be in a room. The waitress was fantastic, but service beforehand was horrible! If I wanted to book a room and you told me it was booked then I am assuming it is booked. She earned an A+ and her tip reflected that. That said, my friend and I were both extremely upset about the lack of options for lunch. Everything on the menu was brunch and the options for that were not great. It took us quite a while to finally decide on what we would have. I had the quiche Lorraine with sweet potato fries and a salad. The sweet potato fries were OK, but the quiche was cold and I ended up eating less than half of my food. My friend ordered the blue crab benny which came with home fries. Her potatoes were cold and she also ate less than half her food because she said she didn't like it. I will accept blame for not realizing J Wilson doesn't serve lunch on weekends, but the quality of the food is on them. When I come to Lawrence, it's almost always on a Saturday, so I will not be having lunch at J Wilson's again.
