If you come during the peak hours it will feel like you're working out on top of each other. The women's center downstairs is a bit of a mess. There's just random weights in there and sometimes none at all and all the weights are upstairs. So if you want to work out you'll have to grab some from upstairs.. especially the heavier weights.

Despite this, they continue to charge my bank account. I followed the proper steps, spoke to staff face-to-face, and was told it would be handled. It clearly was not. I ultimately had to contact my bank and block the payments, which should never be necessary after canceling correctly. This feels careless at best and dishonest at worst. I would not recommend this gym unless you're prepared to monitor your bank account closely.

All of these bad reviews are about the old trainers and management, and I can assure you this is the right place for you if you want to see real results while meeting great people and working with a kick-ass trainer. I used to be embarrassed to go to the gym because most trainers or members made me feel self-conscious, sometimes not even purposefully. If I'm not greeted he's working out or doing something regarding the gym. I don't mind at all. I do wish the workout playlist was better because sometimes I forget my headphones and slow music is not work out music lol. Besides that I have no problems at all. As a studio I feel like it should be managed better in effort for every member of hotworx can come in and actually enjoy their workout without having to grab a rag and clean the entire private rooms. The new manager there isn't the friendliest person I can say I've encountered attempting to threaten someone that I bring with me, who has a membership there, that she will not let him in if he doesn't start booking appts. The person that I bring is new and simply forgot to book an appt, I have been to MANY hotworx locations not just in the state of Texas. As a manager who is over that hotworx location representing hotworx's name, would be ashamed of who they have working for them. So from the cleanliness to the staff of this location, I am giving it a 3 stars only because of those two reasons. Overall it is a hotworx location and you go in there to do your business and leave. However, the very next day, I was charged the full membership price without my knowledge. I found this extremely shady, so I immediately called the Baytown location to cancel. The lady I spoke to assured me my membership was canceled and even issued a refund. I thought that was the end of it--WRONG. Despite being told my membership was canceled, they continued charging me every month until December! I wasn't even aware of it because I hadn't checked my credit card transactions. When I finally noticed, I called them over a dozen times, only to be given the runaround. Every time, I was told, "The owner will reach out to you about the refund." That never happened. In total, they took almost $400 from me--for a membership I never even used. I never once set foot in this place! They are thieves and scammers who care only about money, not their customers or reputation. If you're considering signing up here, BEWARE. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that actually values honesty and customer service.
