It's very relaxed and has a great social feel to it. OK, so I loved everything about this. The music, the lighting, the performances... All of it. From the road, the building sits quietly in the dark. You would never know all of this is behind two nondescript black doors. The aerial artist was so beautiful and graceful. We found out that she's also a nurse! She had amazing strength and agility. Well done! Currently, preformances are from 8-9pm Wednesday - Saturday. We arrived at 7:30, which was perfect. Gives you time to get your drinks, find a seat, and get settled. Be sure to check out their wall of world records in the hallway to the restrooms. Also, look up Donavan and Rebecca on America's Got Talent. Truly an amazing couple. We really can't wait to go here again. Did I mention that I love it?

When I finally noticed, I called them over a dozen times, only to be given the runaround. Every time, I was told, "The owner will reach out to you about the refund." That never happened. In total, they took almost $400 from me--for a membership I never even used. I never once set foot in this place! They are thieves and scammers who care only about money, not their customers or reputation. If you're considering signing up here, BEWARE. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that actually values honesty and customer service.

While the room didn't look as polished as the usual corporate escape rooms I have played, the room was still really fun and all of the puzzles worked well. The puzzles didn't require a ton of abstract thinking (like second letter of every word starting a sentence in the second chapter of a book, etc.) and were fun and satisfying to complete. The game master does initially try to help you out if you are stuck, but you can ask for less clues (or ask for unlimited clues without penalty). Our game master, Dana, was super nice and enthusiastic :) You can reserve online, pay in advance, and add an optional tip to your game master via venmo/zelle. Totally worth the 30 minute drive for me-- excited to play again (but also sad there are only 2 more to try)!

We had a few setbacks because one of the puzzles got messed up causing us to have to use a hint and also setting us back a little bit. Doesn't matter, we made it! We did the neon/black light room. It was fun... dark, of course, but very fun! There were two rooms involved so when you finished one, you had to do the other in order to escape. My husband's group did the stranger things themed room and I don't know anything about it because we can't share secrets of course (in case we go back and switch rooms) but I do know there were three rooms involved in theirs, and there was a demigorgon in one room. He said it was fun. We had a pretty large group so having 7 people in one group and 8 in the other might seem like too much, but it wasn't bad. I will say that the room we did could've been done with less people, but there weren't too many of us so it was fine. (I was in the group of 7.) Our guide was very friendly and helpful. He was knowledgeable and explained everything we needed to know ahead of time. I never knew this place was here. It's literally right across the Hwy from our church. I'm glad I know about it now because I would definitely come back here again, and I'm hoping we do something else like this in the future. I love escape rooms.

APEX Gym has great equipment and a solid environment, but the cancellation process has been…read moreextremely frustrating. My first attempt to cancel was by email on March 4th, and I emailed again on March 16th when I didn't receive a response.I then went in person on a Sunday, as my contract allows cancellation in person. The manager, Lorenzo, was not there, and the front desk staff told me I could email him directly to cancel. I followed their instructions and sent the email. This morning, Lorenzo replied telling me that I cannot cancel by email and that I must come in person Monday-Friday 8AM-8PM -- even though I already went in person, and none of these requirements appear anywhere in my contract. My contract clearly states that cancellation can be done in person or by mail, with no mention of manager availability, weekday-only hours, or any other restrictions. Under the Texas Health Spa Act, gyms are not allowed to add extra cancellation conditions that aren't in the written agreement. The shifting explanations I received -- including in my recorded call with Lorenzo -- would not hold up under Texas consumer protection rules. I've filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General because this has now dragged on for nearly a month despite me following every instruction they gave me.It's a great gym overall, but if you ever move out of the city or need to cancel, be prepared for a stressful and unnecessary process. The facility is good, but the cancellation issues are simply not worth the headache. Stay away at all costs, Houston is literally saturated with so many gyms that this one is absolutely not worth the trouble.

I care about equipment and they are lacking some major advanced machines. They have room for improvement but I chose them because it's the closest decent gym to my location.

The main entrance room has fridges stocked up with macro-friendly meals and snacks as well as energy drinks, protein shakes, etc. They also have Iron Sight merch that you can purchase. Right when you walk in (and even from outside), you can hear the music. Even with noise cancellation, you can still hear the gym's music so if that's not your thing, this gym might not be for you- it's all rap and latin music so at least it's not like a Planet Fitness playlist lol. This gym is very spacious (8400 sqft). There's a powerlifting side with lots of combo racks and 5 (I think) deadlift platforms. There's plenty of bars (TSS, OHP, etc) with all the kilo weights. Even when the gym is at its busiest, I never had to wait that long to get a rack. There's also a bodybuilding side where there's plenty of machines and dumbbells to workout with. And in the far corner, you have cardio machines and turf space to warm up. As for amenities, there are only two bathrooms and the only light source inside is a LED strip light (dark green). Personally, I like brighter bathrooms so I can check up on myself in the mirror before stepping back in the gym. I also wish there was an extra table or space to put my clothes down for when I change. But in one of the bathrooms, they have extra deodorant and perfume which is going to come in real handy because this gym does not have AC and the summers in Houston are brutal. The only places where this gym has AC is the main entrance room and the posing room (yay for posing room)! In terms of pricing, the initiation fee is expensive ($100) but the monthly membership is $65 and they offer discounts to students and first responders which is nice. In terms of the gym itself, I would give it a 4/5 but the workers and owner are 5/5! The staff here are all extremely friendly and always make you feel so welcome. Not to mention, everyone who works out here is always more than happy to spot/support you!
