I have been at&T, cellular phone customer about 1992 which at that time was actually called Bell…read moreSouth mobility. I have been a customer at&T for over 30 years. I went to this AT&T store to have them unlock my phone because my travel agent advised when I travel internationally I should get a local SIM card for my phone. I went to the AT&T store and there were four people there with no customers at all. I met with Anthony and I told him that I needed to unlock my phone. He checked my account and found that I still owe a few dollars to pay off the phone. I inquired why the payoff amount was more than what I was quoted originally when I got the phone from AT&T, and he was downright hostile to me. He simply insisted I had to pay $300, and change, to unlock my phone and if it wasn't interested, I should simply leave. I told him that I was advised when I bought the phone from AT&T about two years ago that the total charge was less than that so I asked if he could check the account. He said no I had to pay that money. No explanation no courtesy no compassion no interest. When he proceeded to try to unlock my phone after I paid the $300 he obviously wasn't sure what he was doing and ended up blocking my phone account with AT&T so I could not go ahead and unlock my phone that same day although he told me before we even started that he would be able to do that. He advised that he would not be in the store the next day, but simply to go into the AT&T store and they would know what to do. He told me that the name on my account was rather strange as that account name was a mix of my first last name and the PA, which is my law firms initials. At that point he got up and walked away to a back room in the store telling me simply to basically leave. I tried to approach him and asked Anthony, why are you so upset with me asking you very reasonable question like what the name is on my account. He was downright hostile and he was hostile in front of the other workers in his store who are doing nothing but sitting around because there were no other customers. I left. The next day, I went to the AT&T store at 411 Federal Highway in Deerfield and a very nice gentleman named Jayden was kind enough to unlock my phone in a few minutes. He was pleasant and kind. I cannot believe how I was treated yesterday at the AT&T store by this guy Anthony. I was greatly offended and insulted, and treated like crap in front of the other AT&T employees. He should not be in customer service, and if he had ever worked for any of the firms that I ran, and all the employees that I supervised, I would've fired him in a moment. He has no business being in a custom relations situation. Perhaps he is fine with his nasty attitude, kicking butt in the back room, but he should not be kicking customers' butt. I am so disgusted that I have now decided that I'm going to leave AT&T cellular service and switched to a different carrier after 30 years. I hope his employer realizes they lost a 30 year customer because of his miserable attitude. I hope AT&T deals with him appropriately, or even closes a store that has few customers. He should not be employed at that store or by any other AT&T office. He should be ashamed of himself and AT& T should be ashamed that they have him as an employee

I had an option of having a technician come to the house or I could go to the store and get a new box. I chose the store. The Xfinity store is on Federal Hwy across the street from Mizner Park. It's big, clean and organized. A far cry from the old location. It was busy, but I was on and out in less than 15 minutes. I planned on being there for at least an hour, so it was a pleasant surprise. My only issue was... the internet signal inside was so weak. You would think the internet people would have a strong signal. Other than that, it was quick and painless.

I noticed the line that was building outside the store, and to be honest, I was worried for a moment. When I stepped inside the store people were lined up and the line had gotten longer. A worker was standing at the end putting us on a waiting list. This line was moving at a good pace. The store had two agents working. The waiting was not long. The customer service was good. I came on a bad day. Xfinity was having issues with its systems. The person working the counter tried their best.
