I called on a Monday for service to be hooked up the following Monday. No technician came Monday no phone call so I checked my E-mail they had sent me a message saying my order was put on hold and to call AT&T. Worst internet i have ever had, Never get internet from at&t, they will throttle certain services like netflix ect. Making them run slower than others. Also my internet will disconnect 5-10 times a day. When they sent someone out to check why he said they made a wiring mistake, left and i never heard back from at&t. I called them out again and the guy told me they had to reset our internet and it would be fine, It went out for 3 days straight after they "reset" it. This place is a joke of a company. If you can turn around and shop for Other internet do it. Do NOT invest your time or money into this company. For starters, we just moved into a house that was already set up with AT&T internet, all we needed was a WiFi gateway. We decided to get the internet 50 and direct tv. 5/27/2020 Day 1- we call talk to sales, super friendly! Told us we had the fastest internet, that we can stream gaming and movies up to 10 devices! Perfect for our family. I told the gentleman Jeremiah I needed to have my equipment by June 1st because I had started working from home. He could only guarantee June 2nd due to the self install process. He then gave me a tracking number for fedex saying June 2 by 8pm. Everything sounds great so far! Then June 2nd rolls around 8pm NO DELIVERY. June 3rd 2020- I call att support and they tell me there wasn't any order of the equipment what so ever. Then told me to talk to billing, talked to billing and they sent me back to sales to order a new one. Of course sales couldn't do that so they said they would send me back to billing who then sent me back to support to send a technician out June 6th to install it. Keep in mind during covid the technicians DO NOT HAVE ANY EQUIPMENT HANDY. if they tell you that they are lying. So I tell them June 6th will be fine after getting my ass roasted by my managers for not working a week. June 6th- NO SHOW OF ANYONE OR ANYTHING. I call support yet again and explain the situation and they said there was never any appointment scheduled and they can't schedule techs out to install internet. Mind you I was on the phone with each person for over an hour because they couldn't find anything about my order. My tracking for FedEx said pending so I decided to do some digging. I told the lady heather in support I had a tracking and she says to me they have it, they are just delayed because of covid. Okay, makes sense! I called FedEx- AT&T NEVER SENT ANY PACKAGES TO THEM. This whole time I'm sitting here waiting for a package that was never created or sent. At this moment my patience is running thin. I called again after FedEx and demanded to speak to a "manager" I know how sales works and they just passed me to another member, DONT let them fool you. (Matthew) and he told me, "Sorry about this, sounds like our team doesn't know what they are doing." Are you kidding me? I'm suppose to trust you and pay you for things your company doesn't know how to do? Ridiculous amount of Unprofessionalism. He told me he'd do everything he could and get it to me by June 9th. He came through and our package arrived on the 9th. Why it took almost 2 weeks beats me since I received within 2 days but that's neither here nor there. I set up the internet and it does not work even with one thing hooked up to it. It kicked our phones out of it and buffered movies, games, and internet to the point I couldn't even use it anymore. It doesn't run 50mbps it runs at 37.8mbps if you're researching internet speeds. I then call customer service AGAIN to see what's going on, some foreign guy kept telling me how to restart my modem like I was an idiot when it wasn't even my concern to hook it up. I simply asked "is there a faster internet or am I stuck with this?" He replies "you're stuck with it just deal with it." THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever had in my life from a company I'm investing my money into. Moral of the story, you'll have headache after headache with at&t. Their customer service is horrid, they will lie to you to get the sale, and once you buy it, you don't mean anything to them anymore. Do yourself a favor and get spectrum or literally ANY other company instead of this one. I had my internet and TV set up TWO DAYS after I ordered it. They will blame covid for their mistakes even though ALL OF US are dealing with the same thing. Also just a side note the app is complete garbage. It loads and loads and loads and never gets you to the right spot. I hope this post helps, do your research, look at all of the WiFi complaints about it saying connected but doesn't work. I've had AT&T and Charter both have pros and cons from service to stability of said service. AT&T service is overly burdened. Most anything though U-Verse (TV) pixelates or pauses for random lengths of time. This is probably due to everthing sharing the same line in and out(same bandwidth) (internet/phone and tv). Internet portion of the service is never stable. Stable in my point of view is not having your internet, stop, pause for dropout for more than a few seconds. AT&T has dropped, paused, stopped for over 10 minutes in some instances. The internet connection drops on a consistent schedule about two to three times daily. The speeds of the internet drop over 50% after 5pm. This does affect the TV service since it is IP driven (need the internet). IP-Phone, IPTV, IP (internet) takes this an add in thousands of customers . . you get the idea. The infrastructure needed to keep a consist service is not here in the Reno area. Charter has drops but less frequent. The overall speeds are higher with less latency than AT&T. Just like politics, we are stuck with picking the lesser of two evils/ Great Basin Internet service is an alternative I will be looking into depending on who's backbone they ride - lease. I have used AT&T in a larger urban environment (Los Angeles) the service was good there. I am trying to explain how they rate in this geographical area which hopefully their people read these reviews and effectuate sometime of infrastructure change or upgrade. read more

Horrible customer service!!! I called back in May to see if I can get a new deal for my internet. I was informed that all they could offer me was faster internet for the price I'm already paying, so I except this and within 24 hours of changing the speed my internet stops working. I called customer service and was told I needed a new router. I don't understand why when just 24 hours earlier I had perfect service! Since I couldn't get the person on the phone to understand this And they wouldn't do anything but send a new router I said fine. (I asked to have someone come out and look at the connection but was told they couldn't because it was the router not the connection) When It came I went trough the steps of installing it and my internet still wasn't working. So I called again this time I was told it wasn't my router and they would send someone out to look at my connection. so the guy came out looked at the connection in my room and outside my house, turns out the connection was poor in the room I had it in so he connected it to another room and fixed it outside so my connection could handle the faster speed. I called customer service and told them I didn't need the new router so I sent it back. Now every time I get my bill they charge me for the router I sent back and I have to call to have the charges credited back to my account. Well today when I called I was told I will no longer get any credits to my account and I will need to pay the 7.53 every bill for the router I do not have because in their system it was updated with he new router and they can't change it. Now I'm looking into another provider I will never give them my business again and I will most likely cancel my directv since their owned by att. read more

I need something explained to me. We have been using AT&T u-verse for the last couple years, in two different houses. In our last house, we never had a problem with our internet going out. Not one. Since we've moved, our internet goes out all. the. time. They have moved our modem from the living room, to the kitchen, to one of the bedrooms. They've been here FOUR times in the last 6 months. After they come and fix it, it does good for a month or two... Then it goes out again. I re start it, and it still doesn't work. How does it make sense that it works for a month at a time and then does this same cycle again? I am so frustrated with them and that they've been to my house almost every month I've lived here. Ready to rip my hair out! Best part is, we're still expected to pay for all these days that we don't get any internet! Ha! read more

I had ATT Uverse for nine years. After a little research I found another provider for the same services for $75/month less. I cancelled the service. I was on auto-pay with them and somehow they forgot to remove my account from the auto-pay system so my credit card was billed again. The first guy I talked to was great saying "no problem, we'll send a check right away." They did but for slightly less than the bill. I called back asking about the difference and she said the difference was for two days of service. I asked about the prior month's bill that was higher than normal. Guess what the difference was, the same amount. So, the final bill they sent was $x higher than normal (I paid it) I got another bill for the month after I cancelled service and they refunded me the normal bill -x. A coincidence that she could not explain.. I know auto-pay is convenient but I would not allow ATT access to my account or credit card. So after nine years I say good riddance to ATT and their overpriced TV and internet service. read more

AT&T is a greedy dishonest company. When we first got the Uverse internet it was of course the "suck you in" new customer promotional rate. We realized that the rates would go up after a year, naturally it went from a low $30'ish bill to $45.50. The following year it goes from the $45.50 to $57.00, nearly double in two years, ridiculous. Unwilling to pay the ridiculous increase for what we use mainly for craigslist and reading articles online we called to see if we could get a better promotional price. Of course when you call the service line, plan on wasting a good amount of time to accomplish anything worthwhile. My wife called an agent who's ID# is CB088V and negotiated a new rate of $42.00.I recommend everyone get the time, date, name and customer rep ID# of anyone that you talk to anytime you reach a customer service rep. I also like to start a stop watch so I know how much time I have wasted trying to get an issue resolved. Anyway when we got our new $42.00 bill," lo and behold" it was $47.00.Well by now you are so frustrated that you do not want to call back and try to fix the problem so you just "go with it". So AT&T just got an additional $60 that year from us to add to their bottom line. I wonder how much extra money this behemoth gets in extra revenue yearly from frustrated customers, I suppose you can get an idea by looking at management bonuses. So on to our newest issue with Uverse. Our latest bill has arrived and it is $57.00. So now here we are again, we are going to have to try to renegotiate again. We will receive a new quote , get the new bill which probably won't be what we were quoted and on goes the vicious circle with a company that doesn't give a damn. It is difficult to find words to describe how bad ATT U-verse is. I had Internet, TV and a landline bundled service at a price that seemed reasonable when I bought it. But I never got that price. The price kept going up without explanation. When I called, they made promises, but never did what they promised. All services were spotty. Sometimes they worked and when I called to get help with things that did not work, the phone menu hell I experienced was beyond the worst imaginable. There are no words for how bad it was. Basically, various people in various parts of the world with heavy accents tried to explain their current version of what they think ATT's policy could be and they said everything was my fault and a technician would definitely come for $98 during a named time window. Of course, no technician came but I got texts and calls with garbled strings of numbers and no message in any language.Eventually the service would come back without any visit from the technician. For this constantly failing service, the bill continually rose. One thing is consistent about ATT: the people on the phone always tell you something nice and it never turns out to be true. I switched to Charter and I hope they are better. I know they could not be worse than ATT. read more
