This is my second attempt to get my problem resolved. The first time I waited over 3 hours for a call back just to be immediately hung up on. When I called back the message stated the customer service was closed for the day. When I called back today I was quoted over a 4 hour wait at which time the customer service will be closed again. This is what AT&T consider to be proper customer service because they have exclusive rights to provide service and we have no choice but the suffer this. I recently moved and I requested to have my service moved. I figured I am moving to a newer area so I'll get the "fastest internet" available. Well first AT&T did not cancel my old service for the house I moved from. They just started a new account at the new house. So I was getting billed for both houses. I didn't even have service for a week when the "fiber broke "? Whatever that means. We work from home and depend on reliable internet service, we have been without internet for 4 days and every phone call I make I just get the run around, "they are working on it" offering to throw a few dollars at me to make me feel better. Be very careful when speaking to customer service reps when you initially sign up for Internet service. Make sure you keep a detailed log of the representatives name, employee number, date and time of all conversations, calls, screenshots of emails etc. I purchased Internet service over the phone I was told that I was getting the fastest speed for my area and that the initial installation fee waived waived due to a special promotion. Once everything had been installed. The internet connection was so poor that I could not get wireless connection in the next room. I still had Spectrum at the time and I ran a test to see which connection was faster Spectrum was way faster and the AT&T 100 connection was incredibly slow and not the speed that was agreed-upon during the initial purchase. I called back the same day as installation and was told that the hilly area I Live in what is the cause of the poor Internet connection and that they could sell me a faster connection for more money. I decided to keep Spectrum and I tried to cancel AT&T the same day that it was installed. I waited on the phone for over an hour during three different attempts to contact an AT&T rep to cancel service. Please see attached screenshots showing proof of their incredibly long wait times. The very next day I was able to get in touch with someone who apologized and said that the service would be canceled and to return the equipment. I return the equipment and closed out my account. I was told by the cancellation team that there would be no charges and that everything was settled and done. 2 1/2 weeks later I received a bill for Internet service. I called AT&T to ask them why I was being charged for a service that I don't have. I was told by the Rep that it was an automatic bill and to ignore the bill. Another 2 1/2 weeks go by and I get another bill stating that my account was past due. A little bit later I get another bill saying that my account is going to collections. I called AT&T and they told me that I was getting charge for Internet. Another representative told me they I was getting charged for the installation fee. I informed them that I was told several times by different reps that the installation fee was waived due to a promotion and I was insured by several individuals that there were no charges. I asked for telephone transcripts and recordings for all the different times I had called in and spoke to reps. I also provided a phone log of all the individuals I spoke to including dates and times and what was discussed. As of this time I was told that this claim is under investigation and someone would get back to me at a later time. I was told that since my account was closed I cannot have a confirmation number of our conversation or a confirmation email that I spoke to anyone. And yet I continue to get active account emails from AT&T and my online app an account says that everything is still active. I don't recommend this company and I wish there was some kind of regulation in pricing. Please keep track and detailed notes on all conversations. Make sure you print out receipts and contract information. Make sure you have confirmation of the services and the promos that are promised from the initial service representatives. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!! I don't understand why the hell they tell us to schedule a technician to come out to install out service when they don't show up until when ever a technician can come out. Schedule was for 9am-11am and they have until 8PM And they said we were next when we called at 2pm....NO ONE SHOWED UP!!! Directv is trying to steal money from me. They keep billing me even when I have moved. I no longer have the service yet they keep billing me. I notified them I was moving. They stated that they have no record that I called. I called from a different number. I called from a landline. Hello not every phone call happens from your cell phone. I tried taking the equipment back in person and they refused it. However they state that doesn't count. Not sure how they can charge for 5 months of service that I didn't use? Aweful service. I'm pretty sure a clash action lawsuits is going to be headed their way soon. I dealt with them for over a year first year wasn't so bad since we were paying a huge amount then second year can along no longer in a contract and we are expecting another baby so we opted for what we need not what we want o was qouted $50 a month for internet basic cable they continued to charge me $80 a month I disputed for several months and kept being told it would be fixed. We had to reschedule an appointment with them. The tech showed up to the original appointment of course we were not home. When the rescheduled appointment cane up the tech was late. The tech could do nothing about our lack of internet and phone service that mysteriously quit working after the first tech came to our house. He could only fix our direct tv problem by drilling a bunch of holes in my walls. When we called at&t regarding this they said we could s schedule another appointment for a time next week. Why did it take an AT&T technician 10 hours and still was not able to set up my U-verse Internet? He was here from 8am-6pm. I have DSL and was upgrading to Internet 25, the only thing offered in my area. The technician used his modem to check and said I would only get 10mpbs because of the distance from the street junction box. I have had chronically unreliable service. Each time my service goes out ATT feels perfectly comfortable forcing me to wait exorbitantly lengthy periods of time with zero service. I have had ATT as my internet service provider for many years. Unfortunately, the quality of this service has decreased considerably over the last 5+ years to the point that my family and I routinely lose our wireless service interrupting computers, phones, and security cameras. I asked for a new router a year or so ago, but this new router has not helped. In the last 3 months it has gotten so bad that I am disconnected as much as I am connected! Why oh why did I think AT&T had changed and I should go back??? I currently have TWC but their internet is so unreliable and their TV and remote system is so antiquated, I finally had enough. Started looking online at competitors and, of those available in my area, AT&T did look most promising. I researched the options, picked the Internet and tv service I wanted, and submitted my order. I got about 3 confirmation emails and an installation date of 9/3. Only nobody ever came. I tried to follow up using the links in my emails for an order number and account number, but the AT&T website kept flagging me that I was using invalid numbers. I tried repeatedly, with the same result every time. Of course you can never contact AT&T by email - you have to call, so I spent Saturday on the phone with someone who told me my installation was changed to 9/6, he apologized no one had told me, and said that I had only ordered Internet, not tv. I read him my confirmation email, which listed BOTH services. He said he didn't know what to tell me, all he could go by was what was in front of him. Ok, that's not a really good start, and you know things rarely get better than when a company is trying to sell you something. I made multiple efforts to contact AT&T to get this straightened out, but was unable to contact anyone. Yes, there is a link on the confirmation email that says you can cancel or change your service appt by following that link, but you cannot. I tried. Many times. Apparently the Labor Day weekend was the reason no computers were available to accept cancellations, and I tried online and by phone, but each time got the message that I had to contact them during business hours. The problem with that is that I work. I leave early and get home late. And of course, AT&T gives you no option to send a message. So I guess they will show up at my house Tuesday, and I will be at work. Kind of the reverse of Saturday, when I sat home waiting for an Installer - per my email instructions - that never showed. Terrible and dishonest company. I confirmed my installation appointment the night before and the next day they did not show up. No email, text, or call to notify me. They rescheduled on me without letting me know. I chatted with 3 different agents and they all assured me that a technician would be sent out. I even received a call from the local field supervisor who also reassured me they would send a technician. They never did. The next day same thing but this time the field supervisor said I would have to wait until next week. I can't even trust them. They keep lying to me. I DO NOT recommend AT&T for service. I agreed to order Direct TV with it bundled with my internet. They agreed to a price and now when I call them to discuss why the rate on my bill is much higher, they said that they don't have the notes in their system from my discussion with their sales person. They gave me the run around for an hour, at least. I asked why, if they didn't have any notes did the Direct satellite system get attached to the side of my house? I was given no real answer. After literally hours on the phone trying to get internet service ordered to the place I moved into who previously had AT&T - they ran a credit check on my credit report which I specifically told them I did not want them to do as I was refinancing and late the next afternoon I receive a call saying they cannot service the address I live at and have canceled my order. Up until this very moment I have been exceptionally happy with my a t & t service. I've had phone, internet and tv. Today I am so angry I'm willing to toss it all. I had a simple customer service call regarding my attempt to purchase a pay per view event. It wasn't working so I called for assistance. Basically I was told I was "screwed" and then when I asked for a supervisor I was hung up on. Easy to do since when I called back they were conveniently closed. After being years with them and paying crazy amount of money they finally let me down. After spending over $1,100 yes because of billing issues and charging me for an issue on a different account. They took over 5 days to get my internet phone and TV service to work. The kicker after all that and me missing hours of time for 3 days they tell me we no longer offer U Verse TV. They told me now we only do Direct TV and for 4 times more a month than you were paying. Plus you have to go on a 2 year contract and reschedule another installation plus installation fees. An AT&T van that was servicing a resident at the apartment complex I live in (Mission Grove Apartments, Riverside, CA 92508) Backed in to my sons car on May 3, 2017. The driver of the van provided my son with information for insurance purposes. I called the number the driver provided my son on May 4th and spoke to a Chon. She let me know she had no record yet and to call the next day. I called again on May 5th and was provided a claim number and adjuster phone number (the adjuster works for Sedgwick as AT&T outsources their claims to Sedgwick). Per Sedgwick, as of May 17th, AT&T had still not accepted responsibility for the damages. I've left multiple messages for Mark at Sedgwick, the claims adjuster, and I'm yet to speak to him. I've spoken to Mark's manager; Don, and he acknowledges he's seen photos of the damages to my son's vehicle, but refers me back to Mark. Don said he has six adjusters and can't review all of their claims. I've called AT&T several times over the last 22 days and they all send me back to Sedgwick. I even went on line and found a customer service email for Sedgwick and sent a detailed email on May 18th, and haven't heard anything back I guess my next step is to seek legal support in my efforts to get my sons vehicle repaired. I will call AT&T and Sedgwick again tomorrow, and hope we are on the road to resolution. At this point, it seems doubtful. I can't believe that AT&T operates in this function. We are customer of AT&T, but this experience has left us with the option that we will change providers this week. If this is an example of their customer service, we will go elsewhere and encourage our friends and family to do the same. read more

Service is garbage not reliable in any way. The system has to be restarted at least twice a day. Customer service is a joke. If you want to teach someone in the Philippines English give them a call. There is. I US based service or anyone you can speak to it all goes to out of country reps that claim they can resolve your issue, but when it gets down to it they can do nothing. Att service is sporadic at best due to poor lines from the service box down the street to my residence, which has been verified by multiple service techs from att but they refuse to fix the issue. I have had all my receivers and routers replaced multiple times only to discover that the problem still exists. One tech even refused to check my equipment claiming the service shouldn't even be available in my area because of poor equipment and service in the area. If you have the option, which I unfortunately do not, choose another provider because att is a waste of time and money. read more

This is about the AT&T U-verse Visa rebate promotion. The actual product is okay, not amazing. I was supposed to get a $200 gift card for signing up. Was told by 2 customer disservice people that it would take awhile. Awhile passed, nothing came, and when I called the "rewards" department, "Tyler" explained that he was sorry but the offer expired and there was NOTHING they could do. But that is a lie, because if they really wanted to provide customer service, they would send me what they said they would send! They sure as heck figured out how to get the BILLS to me. I guess when a corporation gets that big they just do not care about honesty anymore. Oh, btw I have only one other option for service in my area, Charter Cable (aka Time Warner/ Spectrum) and AT&T is trying to purchase that! Guess the monopoly will be complete soon.
